It also says the magazine is recommended for ‘those who really want to know about ISIS’, pledges to ‘answer the myriad of questions and the rumours’ circulating about the group, and talks about ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

However the inside pages of the magazine are much more grim, and feature spreads of photographs of ISIS militants in battle, fighters taking out executions and rows of what look to be the dead bodies of children.

2. Massive security deployment around Baghdad ‘green zone’: officials

Baghdad (AFP) – Iraqi police, army and counter-terrorism forces were deployed in unusually high numbers across strategic locations in Baghdad overnight, security sources said Monday.

“There is a huge security presence, police and army, especially around the Green Zone,” the highly-protected district that houses Iraq’s key institutions, a high-rank

3. ‘That’s my boy!’: Shocking photograph of a SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Australian boy brandishing the head of a Syrian soldier – and his jihadist father who took it

(Think about that the next time some minor civic authority tries to give you a hard time about the way your child seat is installed in your Volvo. Also the photos in that article have the horror blocked out. So its safe viewing)

4. ‘A message from ISIS to the US’: Islamist militants tweet gruesome images of dead American soldiers and vow to blow up embassies as terrorist convoy is wiped out in SECOND round of airstrikes

5. France bombs Islamists in north Mali

(And now for some good news)

French forces have bombed Islamist militant positions in northern Mali.

Four or five bombs were dropped in the Esssakane region, west of the city of Timbuktu on Sunday morning, the BBC’s Alex Duval Smith in Mali reports.

The UN has said al-Qaeda militants were active in the area. Last month Timbuktu airport came under rocket attack.

France intervened in Mali in January last year to try to drive out al-Qaeda-linked groups, which had taken over the north of the country.

6. Ebola virus: Liberia health system ‘overtaxed’

The medical charity MSF said officials underestimated the outbreak and that the health system was “falling apart”.

Nearly 1,000 people have died and 1,800 have become infected in West Africa.

The Ebola outbreak – the worst-ever – is centred on Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, but has spread to other countries in recent months.

Mr Lewis told the BBC that the outbreak was affecting Liberia’s most populated areas, and that people there were “in denial”

7.  Pakistan: Thousands gather to show their hatred on newly observed ‘Palestine Day’

Thank you M, Wrath of Khan, and all. More to come if you can freaking imagine that. Makes you think though just how good the world has been for the past half century or so. I mean really really amazing. I guess we are due for this.

      Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals:

A good tactic is one your people enjoy.
?They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones. (Radical activists, in this sense, are no different that any other human being. We all avoid “un-fun” activities, and but we revel at and enjoy the ones that work and bring results.)

  3. CANADA – Saskatoon to host thousands of Ahmadiyya Muslims

About 3,000 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim faith from all over Western Canada are gathered in Saskatoon this weekend to discuss how best to spread their message of peace and cross-faith harmony.

“It is ironic. Religion came to profess peace and love. Unfortunately, it is made a reason for conflict. Religion should bring us together,” said Lal Khan Malik, Canadian national president of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Friday.

The 35th Jalsa Salana Western Canada conference runs Saturday and Sunday at the Saskatoon Soccer Centre. The event, which has previously taken place in cities such as Calgary and Vancouver, is both social and educational, Malik said.

“It enables the participants to renew and refresh their knowledge of their faith, and tells them of their responsibilities, how we should carry the message of Islam to the Canadian public, and how we should fulfil our civil responsibilities to this great country which has afforded us freedom,” he said.

Ahmadiyya is a faction of Islam founded in India in 1889 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmed. Followers of Ahmadiyya believe that Ahmed was a prophet, while other Muslim denominations disagree. According to Malik, Ahmadiyya Muslims are a persecuted minority, particularly in Pakistan, and much of Canada’s Ahmadiyya population immigrated to escape it.

“We believe that Islam is not a new religion. In a sense, it’s a progression and evolution of religion. All religions, when they were introduced, were from God, and they were true. All religious teachings are true at their source,” he said, pointing out that the core moral teachings of most religions are very similar.

“It’s not because they were different. They have become different.”

The world’s various religious conflicts are not actually about the religions themselves, he said.

“There is really no point of contention between a Muslim and a Jew, or a Muslim and a Christian. All these differences appear to be religious, but they are not religious, they are political,” he said.

Saskatoon is currently home to about 250 Ahmadiyya families, and a planned new mosque should lead to more coming, he said.

  4. 4/ Clever strategizing at the State Department. Don’t ‘antagonize’ them, because they might do something really bad.

    • Yeah, shows what the policies of the leftist peace at any cost crowd result in, a much bigger and bloodier war.

[…]Senator Johnston cautioned the photo should not be taken out of context because it is a “shocking misrepresentation” of Islam and Muslims, for whom the majority are “peace-loving and peaceful”.

“I’m very upset about this sort of thing completely colouring our view of Muslims,” Senator Johnston said yesterday
