1. Obama Allows Limited Airstrikes in Iraq
WASHINGTON — President Obama said Thursday that United States military aircraft had dropped food and water to thousands of Iraqis besieged by Islamic militants on a mountaintop in northern Iraq.

“Dear brothers and sisters so persecuted, I know how much you are suffering and I know that everything has been taken from you. I am with you in faith, and with Him that has conquered evil,” the Pope said recently during the Angelus prayer.
“His Holiness also sends an urgent appeal to the international community, in order that they may work towards ending the humanitarian crisis and protecting those who are affected or threatened by violence, and to ensure necessary aid, especially that which is most urgently needed by so many homeless, whose fate is solely dependent on the solidarity of others,” the Vatican said.

4. Some fun questions for the Palestinians
5. I have a question for anyone and everyone who may read it.
Does anyone know of any religious Islamic organization that has openly opposed ISIS and wants action taken to stop them?
6. Michael Coren and Marc Lebuis on the Montreal Mosque issue.
Even if your sick of this issue and the numerous posts I have done on it, Marc deserves to be heard on it. This is his baby.
Thank you M., Don L., everyone who helped out today.
This is an odd sort of World War. Muslims and leftist knew they couldn’t destroy Western free market liberalism by force. So they had to do it mostly by subversion and information warfare.
What this means is, it is down to us in many ways, to fight this war in order that it does not become a Kinetic war everywhere and fight this information war so that if it does become kinetic, enough of us are on the side of individualism and liberal democracy that we win it.
So thank you all that read and help out this site in so many ways. Because it actually matters.

GAZA – Hamas says will not extend Gaza ceasefire
CAIRO (AFP) – Two senior Hamas officials said the Palestinian
militant movement will not extend a 72-hour ceasefire in Gaza that expires at 0500 GMT (1pm Singapore time) on Friday, accusing Israel of rejecting their demands for a truce.
A leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a smaller faction in Gaza that is also present in Cairo-mediated truce talks, confirmed the factions had decided not to extend the ceasefire.
“We have one position, we refuse to extend the ceasefire, it is a final decision. Israel did not propose anything,” said one senior Hamas official after a long meeting with Egyptian mediators.
“It did not agree to end the blockade” of Gaza, he added, referring to a key Hamas demand to end the four-week conflict

Does anyone know of any religious Islamic organization that has openly opposed ISIS and wants action taken to stop them?
That begets this question:
How about any muzlim?
5/ “Does anyone know of any religious Islamic organization that has openly opposed ISIS and wants action taken to stop them?”
Negative, and taking a closer look at the (lame anyhow) Canadian ‘Faith Leaders Statement on the situation in Mosul, Iraq,’ it’s a bit odd that the only Muslim signatory is listed as an individual and not as a representative of a Muslim organization:

Imam Abdul Hai Patel appears to have several groups he might speak on behalf of –

– but none is given. Possibly an editorial oversight.
Kurds are Muslims…
Good point, they are also trying to re-establish their ethnic identity which means the strict jihadists don’t think of them as Moslem.
Not all of them. There were Kurdish Jews.
Let’s not get carried away with Kurds. I’m a fan, don’t get me wrong, they’re going to be great allies with Israel.
But their history won’t withstand a close look by – say – the Armenians.
They’ve also passed intell to Iran.
The Kurds are the descendents of the Medes, they were a pain in the butt for Byzantium and the Persian Empire, they kept their independence by playing both sides against each other. It will be interesting to see how much Independence they can achieve and how much of their old culture they can revive.
It’s good to keep an eye trained on history and avoid MSM-generated mythology.
You got that right.

They keep saying how US airpower would be powerless in the face of ISIS, but I swear, one little old F-16 could do a great deal of damage to that convoy with it’s 20mm cannon and a few Hellfire missiles. Obama won’t even try. It’s Benghazi all over again “It won’t work, it’s pointless, let’s not even try…”, seems to be his primary military strategy.
Its only Christians in the ME who are being killed and ethnically cleansed, so they dont register with Obama, and frankly with the rest of the MSM.
For ground interdiction a warthog would be better, of course I don’t know if we have any in inventory anymore.
His primary military strategy is to make the US so weak we can’t defend ourselves.
And make nice to mohoundian trash.
Yup, and he hopes that if he makes nice enough they will make him Caliph.
I’m getting a feeling the world is getting fed up with mohamedians and that a whirlwind of retribution is coming their way. Is the worm turning?
As for obama’s decision, all I see is a anti-American community organiser trying to avoid a lynching.

Well, that’s about the stingiest, “coming to the rescue”, I’ve ever seen. Let’s just hope they remember to put that water in containers first before they drop it on those 40,000 refugees dying in the mountains.
And don’t you just love the pains Obama goes to to say that they will not fire a single shot unless it is in direct response to an attack against US personnel? Nice! So you can be having your head sawed off by ISIS, and that Apache Longbow will just keep right on flying unless you’re an American citizen. Real warm…
The way I see it, this would not be happening if they hadn’t taken out Saddam Hussein, so it’s not exactly like the Iraqis are asking for a big favor here. This whole thing is, after all, pretty much America’s fault, isn’t it? Wouldn’t Saddam have Mr. al-Baghdadi hanging by his privates in a torture chamber right about now if the US hadn’t killed him?
Let’s just hope they remember to put that water in containers
Makes me think of that big dam IS now controls…
What that damn makes me think about is that it was built in the wrong place and is likely to collapse with any semi-large explosion. The resulting flood would kill hundreds of thousands of people.
Wrong place, wrong materials. Engineering malpractice that would’ve caused insurance companies to go bankrupt in the olden days.
The backlash has started, it will take time for it to grow to a major conflict but it is coming.
ISIS beheads Christian children
You know things are bad for the current administration when Obama allows us to start bombing Moslems.
We all know Obama is bombing because of the November elections, however starting something like this is easy, disengaging is a different matter, once it is started Obama and the Dems will receive way too much bad publicity if they stop the bombing and allow ISIS to kill the innocents.
Raw: Iraqi Troops Deliver Humanitarian Aid
Iraqi army troops delivered humanitarian aid to thousands of members of the ancient Yazidi minority, trapped in the Sinjar mountains after militants from the Islamic State overran their town last week. (Aug. 8)

Yes, I believe it does 🙂
When I step on a very looooooong ladder I will reach the ankles of Eeyore (in terms of being active) and yet, while I am possibly the smallest fish in a big pond, I’m quite the big fish in my small pond: My step daughter who shares her star sign with Einstein, but that is about all she shares with him (and I love her dearly), came running the other day and said: ” Hey YOU are winning that war – they said ont he ABC (our local version of the BBC) that YOU are winning the cyber war against the Tards. “
Hey, your young “Einstein”-starred critter knows what’s what!
