1. Remote outpost in Northern Canada to get its first house of tardsickles
It would be the first official Islamic place of worship in Nunavut.
“It’s gonna be nice. It’s gonna be beautiful. It’s gonna stand out in the city as a nice new building,” said Hussain Guisti of the Zubaidah Tallab Foundation, a Manitoba-based Islamic charity.
Hussain Guisti of the Zubaidah Tallab Foundation says his group is working with the Islamic Society of Nunavut to construct a two-storey building to be used as a mosque. (CBC)
Guisti estimates there are currently 80 Muslims living in Iqaluit, and he expects that number to quadruple in the next two decades.
(They are building a mosque now for an expected 320 muslims in the next 20 years)

4. Israel denounces UNHRC as ‘kangaroo court’
(Speaking as a self appointed spokesman on behalf of all marsupials I deeply resent Israel’s allegations that something as deliberately deceptive and corrupt to its original purpose as the UN-HRC should be compared to Kangaroo justice. Eeyore president of M.I.R.A.J. [Marsupial International Rights and Justice]
Israel attacked as a “travesty” a UN decision on Wednesday to probe its actions against Hamas in Gaza on the same day that the terrorist organization launched 80 rockets against it, targeting civilian areas.
Israeli football team Maccabi Haifa’s game against French side Lille had to be stopped after pro-Palestinian protesters stormed the pitch.
Supporters of reportedly Turkish origin ran onto the field in the Austrian stadium where the game was played and headed for the Maccabi players, sparking ugly scenes.
One of the players is seen to trip a fan before punches were thrown. The Maccabi players – some of whom retaliated – managed to leave the field unhurt.
Thank you M, ML, GoV, Richard, Buck and many more. Readers of this site may want to start thinking about what they would have done had they been alive and capable adults in say, 1937 or so and whether or not they feel those things should be done now. More on that sometime soon.

Air Algerie plane with 116 aboard crashes in Mali
Air Algerie flight vanishes over Mali
Algeria’s state news agency said in a statement that contact with the plane was lost 50 minutes after it took off. Air Algerie has initiated an “emergency plan” in the search for the jet, which flies the four-hour passenger route four times a week, according to the news agency.
The flight encountered thunderstorms with frequent lightning while flying across southern Mali, but, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Anthony Sagliani, the thunderstorms were not particularly violent.
“In general, there were scattered showers and thunderstorms across all of Burkina Faso and the southern half of Mali.” Sagliani said. “This was with the monsoon trough which is typically found here in late July. So this activity was quite normal.”

Air Algérie flight AH5017 wreckage found in Mali
Plane flying from Burkina Faso to Algeria is discovered in Tilemsi after losing contact with air traffic controllers
the plane was carrying 50 French passengers, six Algerians, one Malian, one Belgian, two from Luxembourg, five Canadians, one from Cameroon, four Germans, one Nigerian, eight Lebanese, one Romanian, 24 from Burkino Faso and six so far unidentified passengers. The six crew members – two pilots and four stewards – were all Spanish.
The flight path of the plane from Burkina Faso’s capital, Ouagadougou, was not immediately clear. The city is in a nearly straight line south of Algiers, passing over Mali, where unrest continues. Rebels who have seized the northern fringe of Mali do not have weapons capable of bringing down a commercial jet at cruising altitude, a Malian official told the Guardian. “What they have is shoulder-fired weapons, and rocket-propelled grenades.”

Police: Bomb Blast Kills 1 at Nigerian Bus Station (abcnews, July 24, 2014)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/police-bomb-blast-kills-nigerian-bus-station-24698105
“Police say a bomb has ripped through a popular bus station in northern Nigeria, killing one person and injuring eight others.
Kano State Police Commissioner Aderenle Shinaba blamed the attack on “terrorists” that entered the motor park with a bomb inside a bag. He said the bomb was concealed in a refridgerator when it exploded.
Rose Charles, who sells rice and plantain in the bus station, said she saw three bodies after the blast. Charles also narrowly escaped a bombing in a nearby bus station in March that killed 30 people.
Kano is outside the region of Nigeria under emergency rule, but it has been a frequent target of attacks by Boko Haram militants, who have killed thousands of people in five years of insurgency.”
Gunmen Kill Foreign Woman on Kenya Coast (abcnews, July 24, 2014)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/gunmen-kill-foreign-woman-kenya-coast-24697789
“A Kenya police official says a female tourist has been shot dead in the coastal town of Mombasa, the second foreigner shot in same area this month.
Henry Ondiek, the Criminal Investigations chief in Mombasa, said Thursday two gunmen shot the woman four times at the Old Town in Mombasa where a Russian woman was killed earlier this month.
The Russian woman, two of her friends and a tour guide were confronted by three armed men on July 6.
The Kenyan coast has been hit by a wave of insecurity. Somali-based al-Shabab militants have claimed responsibility for the killing of 97 people in separate gun attacks at the coast since mid-June. Al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab militants say they are avenging the presence of Kenya troops in Somalia to fight the militants.”
US Pulls Peace Corps Volunteers From Kenya (abcnews, July 24, 2014)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-pulls-peace-corps-volunteers-kenya-24695555
“The Peace Corps says it is suspending its operations in Kenya and pulling out more than 50 volunteers because of security concerns.
The Peace Corps said Thursday it is closely monitoring the security environment and will determine when the volunteers can return.
The decision comes shortly after the State Department reduced the number of people who work in the U.S. Embassy in Kenya, which increased the number of armed guards on site earlier this year.
Kenya has seen a spate of bombing and gunfire attacks, often carried out by Somali militants.
Nik Schuetz, a Peace Corps volunteer from 2009-2011 now at the University of Kansas, said the Peace Corps was good about providing security updates to volunteers but that some people weren’t pleased with the level of security in Kenya.”
Nigeria and neighbours form new force to fight Boko Haram (BBC, July 24, 2014)
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-28460909
“Nigeria and three other states have pledged to speed up the creation of a 2,800-strong regional force to tackle militant Islamist group Boko Haram. Defence ministers of Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger said they would each contribute 700 troops to the force.
Niger’s Defence Minister Karidio Mahamadou said they were determined to “eradicate this curse”. Boko Haram’s insurgency is focused on Nigeria, but it has carried out some cross-border raids….”
. Top U.S. officials warned Wednesday that a Sunni extremist group controlling parts of Syria and Iraq had grown into a threat that is “worse than al Qaeda.”
Eh? The same freedom fighters who commute between Iraq ans Syria, whc the US/UK support?
What’s the use of commenting! While so-ever there are various belief systems (Religions) that create different laws that must be obeyed, we will not have a peaceful and cohesive world community. My book “Civilisation Hijacked” with the sub title
Rescuing Jesus from Christianity and the Human Spirit from Bondage.
illustrates the urgent need for a revolutionary social paradigm shift – a global reformation on humanity’s present theological, political, social and commercial value systems. It shows how the vision or worldview held by the majority of the world’s population has been manufactured to suit the aims and aspirations of a small number of powerful groups. It describes how the world, particularly the so-called civilized Western world, is being manipulated and used by the controlling bodies in the various religious, political and commercial corporate areas – naming and shaming them with details of who, why, when, where and how it originated. How the power of persuasion has diluted, polluted and finally corrupted Western civilization’s now distorted values and worldview. This is glaringly illustrated by the present global political, social, commercial and theological mess that we have inherited at the expense of the billions of victims; the hungry, the homeless, the hopeless and the helpless. To add insult to injury, we are asked by governments and those who are behind the wars and killing machinery, to contribute pennies to various charities to alleviate the human misery they have caused
Man’s inhumanity to man has become worse than that of animals, (no other living specie treats their own with such callous brutality). Historically becoming worse, as more efficient weapons of torture, death and destruction are developed. This work offers a plausible and pragmatic understanding of the causes for this behavior and a practical solution. Creating a human environment where global conflict is minimized if not totally eliminated. Over time, this would change the very nature of humanity from an instinct driven primitive animal, to thoughtful living Gods

You’re conflating contemporary “belief systems (Religions)” with legal systems and just about everything else, theological, political, social and commercial value systems.
That’s way too complicated for me; I don’t find such thinking constructive.
Are you talking about Islam?
Yucki:
No. He is hawking a book. If it was a little bit more generic I would mark it as spam.
Ok, thanks.
