1. ‘Enhanced security’ at overseas airports with US flights
(Wait, isn’t this how the brigands brought down the Roman empire a couple of millennia ago? Making the roads impossible?)
The US homeland security department has said it will put into place “enhanced security measures” in certain overseas airports with direct flights to the US. The UK transport department said the country would be among those to step up security procedures.
The move comes amid US media reports that al-Qaeda affiliates in Syria and Yemen are developing bombs to smuggle on planes. The US security agency said the changes would be made in the “up More here
Ingrid Loyau-Kennett, 49, from Helston in Cornwall, was praised by the prime minister for her actions shortly after the attack on Fusilier Rigby last year.
She had been under investigation after claims a Tesco worker was racially abused in the town on Friday. A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said she was detained on Monday.

Forces loyal to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki fought with militiamen in the holy city of Karbala on Wednesday, in the first signs of a split within the Shia ranks.
Local journalists in the city reported that at least 14 people were killed when government forces staged a raid on the headquarters of Mahmoud al-Sarkhi, a local Shia cleric.
4. UK: Failure to stop FGM is a ‘national scandal’, say MPs
The failure to tackle female genital mutilation (FGM) is a “national scandal” with as many as 170,000 victims in the UK, MPs have said.
Failures by ministers, police and other agencies have led to the “preventable mutilation of thousands of girls”, the Home Affairs Committee said.
Israeli jets carried out 15 precision strikes in the Gaza Strip early Thursday morning, in response to rocket fire on Israeli cities throughout Wednesday and into Thursday. At least 10 Palestinians have been injured, according to initial reports.
6. Two Palestinians mistaken for undercover police by mob and beaten
Palestinian protesters in Shuafat on Wednesday attacked two Palestinians whom they mistook for undercover Israeli policeman.
The attack occurred during clashes between dozens of Palestinian protesters and police forces after the discovery of the body of the Arab youth, who was believed to be kidnapped earlier.
One of the men attacked by the mob is Yousef Badriyyeh, 40, who works in a lawyer’s office. He told the Jerusalem Post that he was standing in the area alone when some youth attacked him, thinking he was a member of the Israeli police forces.

Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Algiers (Algeria), Restrictions for U.S. Embassy Employees
Terrorism
Near East > Algeria > Algiers
7/2/2014
The U.S. Embassy in Algeria has instructed embassy employees to avoid U.S. owned or operated hotels through the U.S. Independence Day (July 4) and Algerian Independence Day (July 5) holiday weekend. As of June 2014 an unspecified terrorist group may have been considering attacks in Algiers, possibly in the vicinity of a U.S. branded hotel.
The U.S. Embassy, when conditions warrant, takes steps like this to balance our continued operations with security and safety. However, beyond this announcement we do not discuss specific threat information, security considerations or measures, or other steps we may be taking.
As a matter of general practice, U.S. citizens should avoid areas where large gatherings may occur. Even demonstrations or events intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence. U.S. citizens in Algeria should monitor local news reports and plan their activities accordingly.

The 7th Court of Tang Emperor Taizong’s Hell features ‘The Terrace for Viewing One’s Home Village.’
‘On one hand, descendants might anxiously endeavor to help out the dead with their offerings… on the other hand, they might not care at all…. This depressing realization becomes visually manifested here…where the dead look back to learn that the living can’t and often won’t help them through their times of torture….
‘At one point, [the monk in a modern version] asked King Yama [overseer of the 7th court] why one particular old man was crying while standing atop this particular terrace, and Yama replied:
He comes to the Terrace for Viewing One’s Home Village to look back at his children and grandchildren. Now, he realizes that his offspring have no feelings whatsoever for him. He finds that some are absorbed in watching television, the others are relaxing idly in their rooms. None of them has any recollection of his onetime existence. He recalls the pain and labour he experienced in his lifetime for the sake of his progeny, and now their indifference dumbfounds him exceedingly.’

#2 What a shame for Ingrid. To become mentally ill. That she was alleged to have verbally racially abused a Tesco worker and the police were called.
Knowing absolutely ziltch about her situation, whether post traumatic stress was involved, or she held extreme royalist values… it just strikes me that she is a fish out of water, that she belongs to the enterprising culture of 1960’s Britain and not
2014 Diversity of Equals theme park of Europe.
As much as Jamaicans were known to have a mental breakdown living in the UK in the 1960s as every cultural norm for them was reversed, and Irish and Blacks were not welcomed. My, how they’ve vigorously thrived!
So just as the mental health profession was wrong then to not understand manchilds, (so they said themselves) it may, in its present guise with the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy of Cultural Marxism, it might be very wrong for her.
Two doses of common sense, an ice bath, a smack and sent to bed with only a horlicks, might pull-off the trick to not let the world wear so heavy on her shoulders. At the moment she’s barking at the world and her country can’t hear her.
Just some reflections before dissents are again sent to health centres as a matter of routine.
So she may possibly someone who judges a person by their character, they only by their beliefs and outward appearance.
The queen who presided over the demise of the UK, may be a misplaced loyalty too far.

Since when has someone who came out with racial abuse been deemed mentally ill? Assuming she even did come out with any racial abuse that is.
This story seems very fishy to me.
Probably a Muzloid on the checkout who recognised her and made up some story about being the victim of racism, then the ‘thought police’ came along, declared her mentally ill for not having the correct political attitude and threw her into a hospital.
From heroine to lunatic in one fell swoop.
Islamophobia is now a mental illness – don’t you know?
The Soviets use to say that anyone who opposed them were mentally ill and put them in nut houses, looks like some of the Brits have been reading history.
She’s too much of a heroine to paint as an Islamophobe. She might’ve muttered under her breath, “idiot Tard,” was heard, then nabbed.
