A number of villages in north-eastern Nigeria have been attacked by suspected Boko Haram militants, it has been reported.

The reports spoke of churches being attacked with bombs and guns.
The incidents are said to have taken place near Chibok, the Borno state town where some 200 schoolgirls were abducted in April.

“Norwegian” Accused of Royal Threat Turns Up in Jihad Video
A Norwegian citizen previously accused of making threats against the country’s royal family has reportedly shown up in a jihadist video shot in Iraq, police said Tuesday.
Bastian Vasquez, a 25-year-old of Chilean origin, allegedly appears in the video, said to have been produced by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), gloating over the fall of an Iraqi border post.
On the video, posted on liveleak.com on Sunday, the man states that ISIL had taken the post and killed several Iraqi soldiers.
“The PST has decided to investigate Bastian Vasquez in relation to the published footage,” Norway’s police security service (PST) said on Twitter.
In 2012, Vasquez was accused of making threats against the Norwegian royal family and former prime minister Jens Stoltenberg in another video.
The police security service told Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet that Vasquez, alias Abu Safiyyah or Mohammad Jundullah, is charged with participation in or support of a terrorist organization.
It is unclear whether Vasquez is an active fighter or carries out other tasks for ISIL.
The man said to be Vasquez in the video is shown at a deserted border post amid burnt-out patrol cars.

Osama Bin Laden’s dream is declared a reality, as the Islamic Caliphate is announced by the militants of Isis today, who also demand all other jihadi groups pledge allegiance.
Islamist militants in Iraq have declared the completion of their Islamic State, with a new Caliphate under their leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Discarding their previous title of ISIS for the simpler IS, they claim that the new State stretches “from Aleppo to Diyala” on the outskirts of Baghdad.
They have not quite achieved that but their footprint certainly stretches across the Syria-Iraq border – with Tikrit now a key battleground with the Iraqi army.
But, as Paraic O’Brien reports tonight, the battle for hearts and minds is going on well beyond the borders of Iraq.

Fighters in Syria and Iraq have announced the establishment of a “caliphate”, referring to the system of rule that ended nearly 100 years ago with the fall of the Ottoman empire.
In an audio recording distributed online on Sunday, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) declared its chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as “the caliph” and “leader for Muslims everywhere”.
Baghdadi is believed to be the leader of ISIL, which announced that it is now called “The Islamic State”.
According to the statement, the new caliphate stretches from Iraq’s Diyala province to Syria’s Aleppo.
Al Jazeera’s Imran Khan reporting from the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, said that a caliphate is effectively an Islamic Republic led by one leader, regardless of national boundaries.
With the announcement, the armed group is declaring that they are now legitimate, declaring the caliphate as the “true muslim state”, he said.
The announcement might bring up problems with other Sunni fighters in Iraq, who are fighting the central government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and not fighting for the caliphate, our correspondent said
