A Taliban deputy district commander in Paktika, who called himself Haji Nadeem, told the newspaper that Bergdahl taught him how to dismantle a mobile phone and turn it into a remote control for a roadside bomb.
Nadeem claimed he also received basic ambush training from the U.S. soldier.

Fears that hardline Muslim governors have been infiltrating Birmingham schools go back at least two decades, and were raised with the government in 1994.
Sky News has learned that senior leaders at three schools in Birmingham were so concerned about the influence of Muslim extremists in the 1990s they took their fears to the top.
In a letter to education ministers, copied to then Prime Minister John Major, the heads said extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir was gaining an alarming influence over schools in the city.

“Ten generals and five other senior military officers were found guilty in courts-martial of providing arms and information to Boko Haram extremists, a leading Nigerian newspaper reported Tuesday.
The news follows months of allegations from politicians and soldiers who have told The Associated Press that some senior officers were helping the Islamic extremists and that some rank-and-file soldiers even fight alongside the insurgents and then return to army camps.
They have said that information provided by army officers has helped insurgents in ambushing military convoys and in attacks on army barracks and outposts in their northeastern stronghold.
Leadership newspaper quoted one officer saying that four other officers, in addition to the 15, were found guilty of “being disloyal and for working for the members of the sect.”….”

This holiday celebrates the giving of the 10 Commandments on Mt. Sinai. It’s a Biblical holiday: Unlike Hanukah or Purim, this one is written in the Bible, “It is an Eternal Statute, in all your habitations, for all your generations” (Lev. 23:16-21).
There’s physical evidence this holiday was celebrated going back more than 3000 years.

Tunisian Ahmed Abassi, arrested after investigation into VIA Rail plot, pleads guilty to immigration fraud
A former Quebec graduate student arrested in New York last year following an investigation into an alleged Al Qaeda plot to derail a passenger train outside Toronto pleaded guilty to two counts of immigration fraud on Tuesday.
Ahmed Abassi, 27, also agreed to return to his native Tunisia after serving his six year sentence. While he did not plead guilty to any terrorism charges, prosecutors had said he acknowledged he may have radicalized Chiheb Esseghaier.
On the same day that Abassi was arrested by the FBI in New York, Mr. Esseghaier was arrested in Montreal over an alleged scheme to attack a Toronto-bound train. Abassi had discussed a train plot with Mr. Esseghaier, prosecutors said.

Just occurred to me …Bob Bergdahl urged Bowe to trust his military reintegration team, and he also suggested his son could no longer speak English.
Could it be that daddy Bergdahl was instructing his son to speak only in his adopted foreign tongue to avoid revealing too much ? Instructing his son to trust his reintegration team would also suggest that these team members are also fluent in that tongue in order to communicate with Bowe and the administration. I would even venture to guess that the entire bunch are in cahoots to keep the evolving narrative intact as long as possible. This appears to be quite a challenging task given the walk back this afternoon :
