3. Defiled and bloody, tethered to a tree, school uniforms ripped: The moment I rescued two girls from Boko Haram

Despite having been raped and dragged through the bush, they were alive – but only just – in the sweltering tropical heat and humidity.

This grim scene was discovered by 15-year-old Baba Goni. ‘They were seated on the ground at the base of the trees, their legs stretched out in front of them – they were hardly conscious,’ says Baba, who acted as a guide for one of the many vigilante teams searching for the Nigerian schoolgirls abducted from their school last month by Boko Haram – and now at the centre of a concerted international campaign for their freedom.

4. Ministers paid £1m to suspect ‘seen at al-Qaeda terror camp’

The Government paid a suspected terrorist up to £1?million compensation even though Whitehall officials had been told that he had been at an al-Qaeda training camp planning attacks on Jewish and American targets.

Feroz Abbasi, who was captured by American forces in Afghanistan in 2001, was one of 16 detainees held at Guantánamo Bay who were paid £20?million in 2010 by the Government to settle claims of UK complicity in their rendition and detention.

5. Hindu Nationalist elected leader in world’s largest democracy.

Observers say the ceremony was rich in political symbolism, underlining Mr Modi’s roots as a Hindu nationalist. […] Narendra Modi secured the most decisive election victory in India in three decades, campaigning on promises to revive the economy. He is expected to be sworn in next week. […] However, many Indians still have profound concerns over Mr Modi because of claims he did little to stop communal riots in Gujarat in 2002 in which at least 1,000 people died, most of them Muslims.

(Here is a great article on this man. Someone who will give Obama a headache. He is neither politically correct, nor an islamophile, and is bared from the United States)

Thanks all, EDL Buck, Fjordman, Richard and many people who sent in materials. More to come.

  1. MONTREAL – MAY 18 2014 Police defuse explosive devices found in Cartierville triplex

Residents are back in their homes on Sunday after police discovered and defused improvised explosive devices (IEDs) found in a unit of a Cartierville triplex Saturday morning.

The SWAT team neutralized the explosive devices following a 15-hour police operation ending early Sunday morning. The number of devices found remains unknown, though one police source told The Gazette Saturday they found what appears to be several pressure-cooker bombs similar to the ones used in the Boston Marathon bombing, as well as Molotov cocktails. Police officials have not confirmed this information.

Police were first dispatched to the triplex on Robertine Barry St. at around 9 a.m. Saturday.

The building was evacuated and residents of 50 homes were taken in for the night by the Red Cross.

By about 10:30 a.m. Sunday police had finished searching the building and the majority of residents were back in the triplex.

The 18-year-old man suspected of manufacturing the devices in his home remains in police custody. Police believe the suspect was acting alone and may suffer from mental health issues.

He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, May 20.

  2. That is not a flattering article on Modi. That author clearly has something against Modi and is desperately trying to make Modi to be the devil to the angel Obama. But it is true that Modi will engage the international arena on his own terms and not Obama’s or anyone else’s.

Modi is his own man. Came from humble beginnings. What bothers people in the Indian left (who are Hinduphobes) and the left in the West is that he is proud to be Hindu. On top of that he wants economic reform so the Indian marxists hate him. He also does not cater to Muslims unlike the Congress, but he neither discriminates against Muslims. He believes in equal treatment and no religion based preference or discrimination which the Indian left hates as it often promoted quotas based not on need but religious status. The left touts secularism, but in India it was anything but actual secularism. It was more systemic discrimination against the majority faith. Secularism was in the end called sickularism because what it really was was anti-Hindu bigotry.

This is a important mandate in India. The resounding defeat of the corrupt and ineffective Muslim vote bank catering Congress is telling. No doubt they and the left wing parties and MSM in the world will do their best to try to take Modi down.

  3. Turmoil in Libya: Fighting sweeps across Tripoli following violence in Benghazi (CNN, May 18, 2014)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/05/18/world/africa/libya-violence/index.html

“Fierce fighting swept across the Libyan capital of Tripoli on Sunday, a short time after armed men stormed the country’s interim parliament. The violence appeared to be some of the worst since the 2011 revolution that ousted longtime leader Moammar Gadhafi.

Libyans rushed home Sunday evening. One Libyan who spoke to CNN reported seeing shop owners quickly closing up.

State media LANA reported that lawmakers had already left for the General National Congress when that attack happened as the session was over for the day. Armed men blocked the road that led to the parliament, LANA said, blocking members’ access to their offices.

Some lawmakers went on Libyan TV stations to talk about the attack, saying that fighting erupted in the area around the GNC.

The attack involved members of powerful militias from the western mountain city of Zintan.

But the al-Qaaqaa brigade, a Zintan militia based in Tripoli, issued a statement that it had “heeded the call of the homeland to save it from the abusing politicians …”

Two other militias from Zintan reportedly took part: al-Madani and al-Sawaeq.

A CNN correspondent in Tripoli could hear intense blasts and gunfire coming from the road to the city’s airport. Roads were being blocked off, according to eyewitnesses….”

“Clashes near the northern Malian town of Kidal between government forces and Tuareg rebel armed groups have left eight Malian soldiers dead and 25 others injured, according to the country’s Defense Ministry, the state-run newspaper, L’Essor National, reported Sunday.

There were also 28 dead and 62 wounded on the Tuareg side, the ministry said, according to L’Essor National.

The government issued a statement Saturday saying Tuareg rebels from the Azawad National Liberation Movement, joined by jihadists, attacked government buildings.

The Azawad National Liberation Movement — known as the MNLA, the initials for its name in French — is fighting for independence for the northern part of Mali, a region that it refers to as Azawad.

The MNLA issued a statement about the violence, describing it as self-defense and resistance.

The group claimed it took 30 prisoners, including 24 soldiers and three regional government officials. Two wounded Malian soldiers were handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross, the MNLA added.

The United Nations Mission in Mali condemned the clashes and said they violated the preliminary accords designed to bring peace and security in the northern regions, including in Kidal.”

    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/05/17/health/mers-case-u-s-/index.html

“The first case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome believed to be transmitted within the United States has been identified in an Illinois man who was infected and is no longer sick, a doctor with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Saturday.

The unidentified Illinois man had “extended face-to-face contact” during a 40-minute business meeting with an Indiana man who was diagnosed with MERS after traveling from Saudi Arabia, Dr. David Swerdlow told reporters during a telephone briefing.

A blood test confirmed the Illinois man had been previously infected, and he reported suffering only mild cold-like symptoms and did not seek or require medical care, Swerdlow said….”

  6. Egypt court jails more than 160 Brotherhood supporters (reuters, May 18, 2014)

“An Egyptian court jailed more than 160 Muslim Brotherhood supporters to up to 15 years in prison on Sunday, pressing a crackdown on the Islamist group before a presidential election former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is expected to win.

Defendants chanted “Down with military rule” as Judge Hassan Fareed handed down 10-year jail terms to 126 Brotherhood supporters accused of violence and membership of a terrorist group in one of the cases. A further 37 people received 15-year sentences in a second case related to an alleged attempt to blow up a Cairo metro station.

  9. Montreal – Ahunstic – 18 year old Montreal Muslim arrested for having 19 IEDs and multiple firearms

It would be interesting to hear what the police psychologists have to say about Yousef Housein, or the sociologues or whoever else they get involved with interrogating or interviewing him and writing reports on his motivations and his own sense of what he was doing and his capacity for empathy and whatever else. Will they try to account for cultural differences or explain things in those terms? And of course will they try to figure in Islam in any way, even if nothing Husein says suggests it connects to his crimes.

  11. Think of how much paper & breath could be saved if they’d just say, “This is Islam, pure & simple. Like it or lump it.”

The path of the Muslim leads to this tree.

And the Flaming Sword… you just don’t want to know.

  14. In short left wing MSM for years engaged in Hinduphobia, so by the time of this election they were no longer credible and no one cared or found credible what they said about Modi.

  15. Arun – says – ‘left wing Hinduphobia’ – and I bet there are Hindu Islamophiles.
    What is it?
Left wing Jewish Israelis are Jew-hating Islamophiles.
    I don’t understand at all.
