Universities were under pressure tonight to crack down on Islamic extremists who spout hatred on campuses.
An investigation has been launched into claims that a series of radical speakers were invited to events and distributed leaflets to students at the University where both killers are thought to have studied.
The probe will consider whether Greenwich University’s Islamic society had any role in radicalising Michael Adebolajo, 28 and Michael Adebowale, 22.
Theresa May, appearing on BBC’s Andrew Marr Show, criticised universities for being ‘complacent’ in tackling the risk of radicalisation
Claims have been made that a pamphlet written by a preacher who was banned from entering Britain by the Home Secretary was distributed during a freshers’ fair at Greenwich University
Home Secretary Theresa May yesterday pledged to look at introducing new powers to tackle Al Qaeda sympathisers who try to recruit impressionable students at colleges.
She has criticised universities for being ‘complacent’ in tackling the risk of radicalisation.
Harry’s Place has had some good posts on FOSIS and Islamic Societies on campus’ in the UK. Good info to be found there.
Not just “complacent”, complicit.
Whatever she does a test case will go to the European Court of Human rights ECHR and the UK GOV will be told they are breaching human rights laws.Britain’s laws are now controlled by EU commissars such as former communist Angela Merkel.

“whatever she does”, she has no intention of doing anything, it’s just the usual waffle. Our politicians think that words matter, so they spout whatever they think will solve the problem, and forget about it, secure in the knowledge that they have solved the problem.
The best spin you could put on it is that they are sincere but ineffectual. But I personally doubt that. Their little theories of the success of immigration, the economic benefits, the benefits to society, and anything else they claim, are unravelling before their eyes, because Muslims haven’t got the sense to not be obvious about their violent, selfish and supremacist religion.
It’s now getting to the point when an ever increasing number of people are seeing the results of their theories, and don’t like very much what they see.
So whatever they say, I personally reckon, like the Cameron pledge for a referendum, its all just spin to try and contain a problem, and cynical spin at that.
Time to wake up people.
Youre correct blindguard. They didnt follow through with the recommended actions before. They will hit the same PC-MC bureaucratic wall again. Unis full of Leftwing administration and faculty arent going to crack down on squat, except conservative and nationalist groups. And the pollies wont defund them.
