    But when you move away from Islam and from skewering lefty bulldust, you sometimes look alarmingly redneck.

    This stuff coming out is the truth and you are supposed to be all about the truth.

    Worst case scenario is that it will lead the US to up its game.

    Thank you for the opportunity to clarify my position on this.

    Wikileaks is an attack on the US and an attack on the West by extension. While most of the leaks I have heard about so far are in my interest, that is to say, they agree with, or encourage my own perceptions of the world and hence are satisfying to me, they are nonetheless an attack on the US. This information was secret and having information even if it was already known or surmised (hell much of it has already been posted here at vlad over the last two years) there is a large difference between speculation and deduction and actual confirmation of what various diplomats or government officials say.

    There is a large difference between what should be known by the public in terms of internal government actions where the people have a right to transparency as it is their government and that governments actions where it effects its own people and how a government behaves internationally. As these leaks consist of documents that so far are 100% material stolen from US sources, this is not an attempt to bring the ‘truth’ to the people so much as a direct attack on the United States. This is espionage of the highest order and is not a matter of freedom of speech and to reiterate, the fact that most of this information suits my purposes does not change this.

  6. I’m sorry, I tend to agree with Gabriel’s comment. I say I’m sorry because I admired the depth of information about islam and it’s use of Taqqiyah to promote stealth islam on an unwary and generally uneducated public that I usually found on this blog – vladtepes. And now I am sorry because your stance about Wikileaks has probably made me view vladtepes with a more jaundiced eye, and made me less inclined to visit the blog.
    There are many things that Governments around the world do in secrecy, hiding under the old and now thin veil of “national security”. What wikileaks is trying to do is bring the public awareness of the many nefarious and dangerous activities of governments, including the US government, through the use of threats, lies, bribery and corruption.
    I am an old man now, and have lost my trust in any government to look after humanity – any government. I have seen bribery, lying, corruption and threats grow exponentially since the breakup of the old Soviet republic in all governments around the world, especially in the USA.
    The US and its capitalism and everything associated with it has, to me, taken the breakup of the Soviet union as a signal that “carte blanche” was awarded to it by default to trample on humanity in so many ways its almost painful to think about.
    Assange and Wikileaks are not traitors, but very much needed whistle-blowers in this troubled world. And I find it reprehensible that anyone should call for the death or execution of the man – reprehensible.
    The charges being brought against the man – IMHO – are trumped up charges, probably trumped up with the encouragement and influence of the CIA, certain US politicians and the Big Banks, who are all scared witless that their manipulation, lying and corruption – that has led to the sorry state the world is in now – will be exposed for what it is. In the future I would put my money down on the woman or women who thought of these charges were being paid for or rewarded for their work by the said CIA and government people and Banks.
    As I said, I will be visitng this site less in the future. That is why I am sorry.

    I’m sorry that you hold this site in lower esteem because you disagree with my position on Wikileaks. But your comment is good and our points are valid. I am not sure that they contradict what I said however. Wikileaks is an attack on the US even if I like the information I see. I suspect that over the next few months, information which will be very damaging to the US and western interests will surface which will make the process of fighting Islam and Islamic terrorism and Islamic governments exponentially more difficult, if it has not already become so, due to current leaks. Onside people from the Pakistani government for example are far less likely to cooperate with US personnel as they will likely be sold out to Jihadi elements in that same government. I could site many many more examples of how international relations will be strained for the US and achieving important goals will be made difficult and perhaps impossible due to these leaks. This is not in our interests especially as we are clearly fighting Islamists on several fronts, Afghanistan, Iraq, Parts of Pakistan, probably Iran secretly but not for much longer, we suspected but now we know that the US is fighting Islamic nutbags in Yemen. All these leaks will only make it harder. The fact that the Arab states now know that the Saudis wanted to work with Israel and the US to destroy Iran’s nuclear capability and destroy Hizb’allah. These revelations will make it harder to achieve the goals you and I likely do agree on.

    In any case, thank you for your input. You do make valid points in any case.

Eeyore you are right, this is an attack by a narcissistic leftist who claims he is doing things to inform the public, yes most of the information has helped the people who want to fight the war, but it has also burned our intelligence sources, and with all probability killed a whole lot of people. The fact that more people don’t understand this is because the left has destroyed the educational system to the point where many other wise intelligent people are more or less incapable of critical thought. I wish that Manning and Assauge would receive the death penalty but realize that we won’t be able to get Assauge unless we guarantee that we won’t execute him.

  10. Assange’s desire for his Warhol 15 minutes of fame would have been better spent painting a great painting or writing a great novel or a song. Now that would be something to be proud of. Instead he published stolen material, damaging to counter-terrorism initiatives.

  11. He has done more then that, a lot of people are going to die because o f Assange. Some of them will be good guys and some not so bad guys helping the good guys, but a lot of people will die. As I said I wish he could be executed.
