Gay rights throughout the Western world from Israel to Canada have all been achieved by one central right. The right to free political speech. Now that speech is being taken away from anyone who speaks even a few degrees away from the current, politically correct orthodoxy. The time has come for the gay community of London, a community I’m sure is big enough, as was the gay community in Canada when another equally antagonistic reverend published an anti-gay diatribe in a Red Deer Alberta Church newsletter, to come forward and defend this man’s rights to free speech.
The best way to do it would be to openly preach that homosexuality is a sin and be as gay as you want about it at the time, and demand to be arrested. No worries I’m sure you guys can think of something to do for the few hours you will be in jail, but you will be doing a real service to the one right that really matters and that is the right that earned gay people as a group all they enjoy now in the Western word.
There are few guarantees in life, but here is one of them…
Once they have taken freedom of political opinion from the other guy, it is only a matter of time before they take it from you.
You know, I think that authoritarianism sort of grows by itself, and perhaps, is inevitable. There’s always a plausible sounding argument to make for taking away people’s freedoms, and there’s never a shortage of clever, clever people who can spin those arguments at light-speed and make the gullible believe it’s all for their own good. Let’s face it, free speech can be annoying if you don’t agree with it. As World War II and the Cold War fade into the past, the memory of the horrors of totalitarianism becomes dim in our society. If they had tried to put up video cameras in public places, or prevent some kook from speaking his mind in the UK back in 1960, people would have gone nuts, but now they just shrug and take it. No one seems to have a moral compass any more, to just stand up once in a while without looking around to see if everybody’s with you. Not one of those cops in the video understands that their worth is being tested, and that the right thing to do would be to act as an individual and refuse to arrest that guy. They just play along like everybody else. Individual citizens are supposed to be a little bit important in a democracy, to have some weight, but now the individual is nothing but an inconvenience who’s always wrong ’cause he isn’t “trained” and can’t be counted on to handle anything on his own. Next they’re going to try to shut down free-speech on the internet, I’ll bet. The Media is constantly talking about internet child pornography (which I never see even a trace of), cyber-bullying-leading-to-suicide, and chat room stalkers. Could they be preparing to make the case that the internet is a vicious kid-killer that must be reined in? AAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
The Homosexuals have had a taste of power and like it, they don’t want people to tolerate them they want to be called normal, their actions are going to create a backlash that will drive them back into the closet.
The Police in Britain were one of the most respected police forces in the world. But now, with PC, and falling standards in education over the last three decades, they are the most obtuse and thick police force in the world. They actually believe, as individuals, believe, that Islam is the Religion of Peace. This is the result of brainwashing on a way below average IQ police recruit intake. This is evident evident even in the video above.
The vast majority of gays support civil liberties, including freedom of speech. There is very little gay support for restrictions on speech, and the arrest in this video did not come about as the result of a complaint by a gay person. If anything, gay people roll their eyes at incidents like the one in this video, because the only purpose they serve is to feed the delusions of homophobic Christians that they are the besieged minority, when in fact, incidents like this are scandalous precisely because they are so rare. In any event, don’t blame gay people for European “hate speech” laws that have their origins in the post-WWII period.
Finally, Eeyore, you are right that gay people – or at least a majority of gay people- can be a natural ally in the fight against the ideology of Islam. But here’s a tip for you: if you want to persuade gay people to join the fight, it would probably be a good idea -at least at the outset- to stop making oblique jokes about homosexual prison rape, as you did in this post, and to stop referring to gay men as if they are women, as you do in the next post about the Saudi killer prince.
There are gay soldiers fighting in Afghanistan who could take you apart and put you back together blindfolded. I wouldn’t advise calling them princesses. We can take a joke, but making wise cracks is not the best way to make a good first impression.

Yes I know that the gay community, while left of this site on many issues overall, is indeed a natural ally in the fight for freedom of speech, as we saw with that idiot preacher from Red Deer.
Many gay blogs and publications republished his entire anti-gay letter and then demanded to be charged by the CHRCH. None were of course because hate and speech crimes are always selectively enforced as they are much more political than criminal laws as a rule.
This was truly a noble act and I was very impressed by the whole gay community for their actions on this matter.
Secondly, This blog reads and refers people to http://www.gayandright.blogspot.com very frequently and is a good friend of that site. My intention of the post you mentioned was indeed to be offensive, but to Saudis and religious Muslims. Did you know that not one woman is in the entire Koran by name except Mary, and that is because Mohamed ventriloquizes her to say that her son, is not the son of god.
Not that I think he was either per se, but I think its worth pointing out that Mohamed turns Mary into a kind of marionette for his purposes. Islam’s diminishing of women can only be understood by reading Quoran in its staggering magnitude.
So yes, I did lower myself to use a fairly easy quip to describe this Saudi ‘Prince’ in a way that I did hope the gay community would forgive as a fairly natural and easy gag, and would probably piss off all Saudis to apoplexy. As you said, “We can take a joke” but I think we can also agree, Muslims can not. So I took a gamble on that one.

Just one other point on free speech: There is a difference b/t ordinary gays and the more radical left wingers. Mainstream gays, which is probably 95% of us, know that you cannot truly have a free society w/o free speech. I would note that just today there was a free speech case argued at the US Supreme Court, in which the deranged and obnoxious anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church was defending their right to hold anti-gay protests at funerals. You won’t find a more hated group than this nutjob church, which thinks that every tragedy in the world, from the BP oil spill to the earthquake in Haiti, is the result of God’s hatred of gays. Yet not one gay group in the entire US filed an amicus brief against them. And the ACLU, which is led by a gay man, filed an amicus brief in support of them. That should tell you something about how gays really do appreciate and respect the right of free speech.
Although some of the radical gay lefties have no respect for free speech, that is not b/c they are gay, but because they are radical lefties (like the hetero Dutch lefties who filed the criminal complaint against Wilders).
David you may be right, but the ones I have met around here are all supporting the Moslems. They are seeking to destroy the base culture of the US and put their own ideas in its place, something that most citizens of the US don’t want.

David I agree with you overall. The thing that makes my gorge rise, is when i see a gay group or single activist with a rainbow flag at a Hamas event or Hizbolah. Really shockingly suicidally stupid.
Or gay groups, and there are a lot of them, which protest for example, the gay pride march in Jerusalem but do not seem to notice that there is no such march anywhere in the Islamic world. This may be a small minority of gay people, but they make sure they are a visible percentage.

One reason the left supports gun control is to stop you defending yourself from the new SS by a different name, and this is not the only example, look at the environmental video calling for the murder of global warming skeptics. Very good, very good, keep up the good work. Eeyore your video on youtube was excellent, I remember the 60s when pollution was bad, a couple of rivers caught fire and you couldn’t breath in some cities. This pollution was cleaned up by the mid 1980s when the environmental movement really gained steam. The problem is that the people who weren’t alive during the bad pollution don’t realize that the world (at least almost all of the free world) has been cleaned up. The under educated of today (blame the schools) are willing to go along because who doesn’t want clean air, water and food.
Thankfully the authoritarian left is over reaching and showing what they have planned for those who disagree with them. Western Civilization is facing the worst threat it has faced in centuries. The militant left and Islam are joining forces to try and destroy us, all we can do is vote for politicians who will stand up to them, and if you live in the US buy more ammo.
