I have had this tab open for a long time as I don’t often have time to watch anything over a few minutes about which I do not know its value. I am really glad I kept the tab. I have watched it twice now and will watch again. It is also very timely as he deals with one of the issues I mentioned in a post yesterday about Communism, Nazism and islam. The idea that Lysenko was the official science of the communist entity because real science did not fit with the narrative.
The science of Climate is not a science, and is unlikely to be ever a science, as it involves too many ‘sciences’. For a start a real climate scientists would have to be expert in Solar dynamics, planetary mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetics and radiation, oceanography- particularly the thermodynamics of heat exchange in the oceans, and the behaviour of living organisms. Thats for a start.
Then the interaction, linear and non-linear, time delayed, feedback, noise, etc etc. This is just a start without even mentioning clouds. Can’t see how it can be done.
Even a committee of experts would be unable to handle it. The only way left is to the take temperature readings and extrapolate. Extrapolation over a time frame of decades, is far worse then simply taking a blind guess.
Some while back, the BBC asked this set of questions general scientists.
“How certain are you that mankind is warming the climate?”
“How certain are you that C02 and the other things are greenhouse gases?”
“How certain are you that we are emitting more CO2 which is one of the greenhouse gases?”
Whoever asked questions pertaining to science to a group of disparate scientists on matters on which they were not expert? The whole idea of proving a theory on the basis of a questionnaire is ridiculous. Scientists may or may not come to a consensus, but they do not rely on consensus as proof.
The real reason is not the science of AGW that concerns the BBC and governments, but the monies and politics of AGW. They have invested too much political and other capital, for them to let it go, especially as the gains are in trillions in tax levies, and the bonanza of patronage that results from a windfall in taxes. The others reason is that the West will be locked into a command and control economy for the foreseeable future.
This fraud by Western governments has no parallel in history. Even Stalin and Lysenko did not stoop so low. Or for that matter, the Pope at the time of Galileo.
Global Warming – the greatest fraud of all time. Its now renamed itself as Climate Change, when it became evident that there was no Global Warming, man-made or otherwise.
This fraud was not perpetrated by enviro-fanatics or enviro-scientists. They may be fanatics, but have no power to implement policy or direct research funding. This was, from first to last, a scheme by the government to raise revenue with no strings attached, and the added bonus that they were saving the planet on data provided by the “scientists” – scientist who were from third rate universities, on topics they had no understanding, even an elementary level. The last, so much the better, as mediocre academics, hemmed in by the pressure to attract funds, were in no position to cry foul.
In all crime, real or drama, the first question to ask is who profits from the crime. The answer – the government treasury. As the treasury swells, it allows ministers to do what is the only real perk of the job – excercise power via control and patronage.
This also meant that governments could exercise power over the whole economy, without recourse to outdated and ineffective state control of the USSR.
Prof Richard S. Lindzen openly states that Michael Mann, Phil Jones etal are incompetents.
He is right.
