Reader’s Links for February 2, 2026

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  4. Just cleaning an especially sloppy file: /Isr/Military/Strategy. 2006-10/07/2023

    Because everything that happened after that date is simply out of this world, a whole different orbit. Everything that fell into neat folders – foreign relations, economy, media – everything that felt normal is gone.

    To clean this huge “Strategy” file from another lifetime I have to at least read the dates, some titles, authors.
    And it’s terrible. Hurts.
    Oh-so-clever strategies, decades of serious voices, policies…

    • I feel your pain.
      At a certain point, somewhere between say, 1970 and now, western governmebnts hijacked every metric used to measure the health of republics and manipulated them such that none of them meant what they used to mean.

      Housing starts are not a measure of economic health when the state manipulates or funds the building of houses, or the statistics.

      That’s one example of … well everything.

      Stats Canada is now a propaganda organ of the government rather than a measuring tool so that the people and the government actually know how to set policy based on real metrics.

      That is the point de bascule of the move from a Republic to a Dialectical state, right there.

        Using an exact date-time-place as the cutoff only works for file system purposes. It doesn’t answer what went wrong and when?

        Even immersing yourself in real statistics would be a waste of time – and frustrating beyond measure. The determinative force is outside the reality we’ve spent a lifetime trying to understand.

        For different reasons we both may feel like we’re living in the 1930s. Maybe Weimar, maybe FDR’s blustering America. But I can’t think of anything analogous to the CCP eating Canada in real time.

  6. Tonight, I recorded a leftist organizing call featuring the president of the local SEIU in Minneapolis.
    He says there are over 80,000 people in the Signal rapid response groups and over 30,000 trained “legal observers” in the city.
    This is a massive anti-ICE army.

  7. Bill Blair resigns from his Liberal seat to become High Commissioner of the UK.
    The man, who while Toronto Police Chief preached about the negatives of marijuana, and the ran for the Liberals and touted the positive side of making marijuana legal is leaving us. Good riddance. Please do try to get Carney to join you.
