Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  2. The protagonist spoke to his dog, Mildred, often. The fat, middle-aged black Labrador would sit there, her sweet eyes polite and attentive, listening to her master:

    “What they did not realize was that the ‘checkmate’ was completed quietly, and numerous moves in advance of its pronouncement, which came during a moment that had been fully engineered since 2013, when the Harper government introduced bail-ins as law in its Fall budget. Page 234 detailed the procedure of recapitalizing insolvent chartered banks with depositors’ money.     This was the international infrastructure whereby ownership of publicly-traded stocks, vehicle ownership–almost everything–was to be claimed by default by bankers far up the food chain. So you see, Mildred, the smartest men in the room had been busy for quite a long time. This was how the vast majority of people ended up owning nothing long before they realized their assets had been legally taken.”

    Mildred heard her name and flopped her heavy tail on the floor a couple of times.

    “What Canadians could not see–actually it was a coordinated event by all Western governments and major banks–was the final piece of the puzzle. This happened late on a Friday evening after New York trading had shut down. The announcement came from the Federal Reserve that the attack on the north-east electrical grid by a foreign entity necessitated the temporary closure of the banking system. When it would reopen they could not say at this time, but the culprits would be found and dealt with, and all financial transactions would resume as soon as possible, with all bank accounting updated for every person in a timely fashion. Don’t worry, they said, everything is under control.

    What they were actually saying, Mildred, was that from this point on all transactions were going to be settled in the central bank digital currency of everyone’s respective country. You see? Voila! Now, when you went to pay your rent, the money in your account was converted into the new CBDC. No problem. It was a simple laundering mechanism. Out with the old and in with the new. Your next pay cheque would come to you also in the form of a CBDC, because your employer’s account was being converted the same way. Filling up for gas? Your debit card now withdrew your money in the form of the CBDC it had been converted into.

    And so it went. The biggest problem was what to do with the legacy banks that were now redundant. Who needed these middlemen when the whole economy, including everyone in it, could be controlled by the central bank? Central planners had finally reached their point of optimal control over every facet of human existence.”

    Mildred sneezed, then went to sleep.

    The story of the American Revolution is often simplified to April 19, 1775; Lexington and Concord, the “shot heard ’round the world,” and war between colonial militias and British regulars. But by the time musket fire echoed across Massachusetts, the conflict had been smoldering for years.

    Long before independence was declared, the fight was already underway over a fundamental question: whether free people could remain armed.
    Disarmament Came Before the Shooting

    The British effort to control the colonies did not begin with battlefield engagements. It began with policies. By 1768, as resistance to taxation without representation, warrantless searches, and arbitrary rule grew, British officials identified armed colonists as a problem to be addressed.

    Reports in Boston newspapers warned that the Crown intended to disarm the population, impose martial law, and arrest political leaders. Those rumors struck a nerve because they aligned with reality on the ground. British troops were moving into Boston, not as protectors, but as enforcers.

    Colonial leaders responded quickly. Public meetings at Faneuil Hall invoked the English Declaration of Rights of 1689, which recognized the right of Protestants to have arms for their defense. Town resolutions reminded citizens that militia laws already required every able-bodied man to keep arms and ammunition.

    • This isn’t pointed out enough, the American Revolution was started to allow the people as a whole keep and bear arms, this is why it is stupid to think that the people who fought the Revolution would agree to an Amendment that allowed only the Government to own firearms.
