Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.
So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.
This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.
For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression. The Substack is a different project in a sense. It is older videos that in the light of subsequent events, look different or of increased importance, Check it out now and again if you like.

It would seem that Trump is opening America’s door to all licensed or experienced people that work in trades.
If they are competent, USA citizenship awaits them after five years.
End-result would be a deficient domestic trade industry for Canada and those who don’t leave Canada will grossly hike their fees.
This is brilliant Trump at work for the 51st State.
Interesting priorities of the new Pope:
Pope tells Erdogan two-state solution ‘only’ path forward in Middle East
Following a visit in Turkey last week, Pope Leo XIV said that he had spoken with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about their shared support for a two-state solution, which Leo called the “
onlyFINAL solution” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.…During his address, Leo thanked Erdogan, who has consistently voiced support for Hamas and fostered hostile relations with Israel, for helping coordinate the trip and for hosting him on his personal helicopter…

For all the climate catastrophe we are fed, it’s wonderful to see this:
Will Sussman @realWillSussman
DESPICABLE: Yesterday, PYM Boston chanted “globalize the intifada” at the site of the Boston Marathon bombing, the largest terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11.
Low turnout
Lea Kayali leads PYM Boston and can be seen participating. She was honored by @Harvard_Law last year.

All I want for Christmas is for Carney to resign. Oh and for people to stop the horse pucky about climate change, oh and stop all geoengineering, cloud seeding, and of course the mRNA shots. Mike Yeadon said the shots are like a go cart without a steering wheel and brakes and the accelerator is always on. Oh and I also want all people out on the streets of Canada spewing Gaza, Gaza, Gaza and death to Canada to get the hell out of this country. Oh geez I forgot all adults do not confuse your children, they are either a boy or a girl and teachers leave the kids alone or resign too.
On the 1st day of Christmas…~1 Carney resigned~ and a partridge in a pear tree…
Almost a third of Norway’s 2026 State Budget agreement is about Gaza, Israel
Norway’s three main parties signed 17 clauses: the first 12 addressed general issues, while clauses 13 to 17 focused on Israel and Palestine.
A disproportionately high 30% of Norway’s national budget agreement for 2026 is about Gaza and Israel, accounting for five out of 17 clauses.
The document, signed on November 29, is an agreement between the ruling Labour Party, the Centre Party, and the Red Party regarding the state budget for 2026.
By signing it, the parties commit to voting for the consensus on the state budget for 2026 and not forming any other majorities in connection with the budget process.
The parties signed 17 clauses, the first 12 of which are about health and dental care, trade, the environment, the rental market, and social assistance. Clauses 13 to 17 are all about Israel and the Palestinians.

Apparently not counted is Norway’s oily Sovereign Wealth Fund, one of the largest in the world. There’s the King, his family, assorted ultra-elites. They’re never bound by the constraints on normal people.
Good article. All the yapping over the years means less than nothing without putting money instead of foot in mouth.
Israel doesn’t need charity anymore, it needs serious Jewish investment – opinion
Israel’s booming economy proves it no longer needs charity, but serious investment from Jewish institutions.
When billionaire investor Bill Ackman put $25 million into the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange 110 days into the Israel-Hamas War, Wall Street thought he was crazy. Today, that investment has returned over 100%. It illustrates a truth the Jewish institutional world has yet to grasp: In 2025, Israel doesn’t need charity; it needs investors…
The new Zionism
Bill Ackman articulated the underlying principle best: “I have always been a strong believer that while philanthropy can solve some problems, capitalism can solve many more.”
The old Zionism was transactional: American Jews earned money in America and sent some to Israel as charity. That worked when Israel needed milk money and emergency relief. But Israel in 2025 doesn’t need charity. It needs what every thriving economy needs: investment capital that believes in its future…

The “End of Aid to Israel” has been a perennial topic for Israeli magazines for years. See one such collection at Tablet:

WSJ, 2016:
Israel should offer to go without any US military aid
President-elect John Kennedy was walking Israeli PM David Ben-Gurion to the elevator following their meeting at the Waldorf Astoria in November 1960 when he told the Israeli PM: “I was elected president of the US w the help of your people; what can I do in return?”
Ben-Gurion, who was 31 years Kennedy’s senior, didn’t like the reference to the Jewish vote, and therefore quipped: “Try to be a great president of the United States.”
With or without relationship to this plea, Kennedy soon afterward sold Israel surface-to-air Hawk missiles, thus breaking Uncle Sam’s embargo on arms sales to the Jewish state since its creation.
It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

The seemingly free American aid did not come free of charge.
In 1987 Israel was compelled to cancel an ambitious project for the construction of its own fighter jet, the Lavi (meaning lion), a prototype of which was already flying in the air and is now on display at the Israel Air Force Museum outside Beersheba.
Israelis then learned that the F-16s it was buying with America’s grants created thousands of jobs that America wanted retained. It was obviously a fair demand that Israel duly heeded, but it did come at the expense of thousands of layoffs in Israel.
Then, in 2000, this economic price tag was compounded with a diplomatic price tag…
[Now,] if Israel retreats from US military aid the way it did from its civilian aid, it will save thousands of local jobs and also gain diplomatic maneuverability.
This would be besides relieving the US of an annual expense whose fiscal justice Americans might increasingly question, and whose strategic rationale has largely become an anachronism…
Little will change in Israel should US aid end, except that politicians will become more frugal and generals more focused, buying fewer arms for yesteryears’ expensive conventional wars, and more for tomorrow’s equally daunting, but cheaper, wars of guerrilla, missiles, and terror.

Hungary raises flag over new embassy branch in Jerusalem
Hungary, one of Israel’s closest allies in Europe, raises its flag over a new embassy branch it is opening in Jerusalem.
The Hungarian Academy in Jerusalem, a cultural center located next to the YMCA in Jerusalem’s Talbiyeh neighborhood, will officially open its doors early next year…
The Czech Republic has an embassy branch facing Hungary’s new cultural center, and Slovakia has one down the street.
Hungary has operated a trade office in Jerusalem since 2019. Its primary embassy branch is in Tel Aviv.
Seven countries have embassies in Jerusalem: The US, Guatemala, Honduras, Kosovo, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay and Fiji. Other countries’ embassies are located in Tel Aviv.
