This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

According to an FBI affidavit, the voice belonged to Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub Al-Muhtadi, 33, also known as ‘Abu Ala.’
He was an operative for the Gaza-based National Resistance Brigades, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), the affidavit said.
This week, Al-Muhtadi appeared in court in the unlikely setting of Lafayette, Louisiana, where he had recently been working in a restaurant while posting pictures of himself on social media with a gun.
He pleaded not guilty to two charges – conspiring to provide material support to a terrorist organization, and visa fraud.
Al-Muhtadi had been in the United States for over a year.
The story of how someone suspected of participating in the October 7 atrocity came to be in the country, complete with a driving license and social security number, has left Republicans asking how the Biden administration allowed it to happen.
According to the allegations in court documents, on October 7, 2023, Al-Muhtadi was alerted to the Hamas attack on social media by 6:34am, minutes after it began, and told others he intended to cross from Gaza into Israel.

Experts warned of a radical new threat to global security after the Daily Mail tracked down more than 150 of the highly dangerous extremists to a luxury hotel in Cairo.
Israel was forced to empty its prisons of nearly all its most feared jihadists held on life sentences as part of Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan.
Some 154 of the 250 fanatics who were freed are currently staying in the Marriott’s five-star Renaissance Cairo Mirage City Hotel in the Egyptian capital, a Daily Mail investigation has found.
Families can still book in to stay at the hotel without being aware of the dangers.
Undercover journalists booked into the resort and stayed amongst the murderous jihadists, who include a member of Isis and a senior Hamas special forces commander.

The Daily Mail understands that some may soon be moved on to live in nearby tourist destinations such as Qatar, Turkey and Tunisia which are hugely popular with British holidaymakers.

Of the most serious terrorists freed by Israel earlier this month, 154 were considered too dangerous to remain in the West Bank or Gaza.
As a result they are now being held in Egypt at the Mirage City Hotel, which has its own spa, fitness centre, restaurants, outdoor pool and even a hair salon.
Those staying at the resort, where rooms start at £200 per night, include Mahmoud Issa, 57, who founded Special Unit 101 of the Izz a-Din al-Qassam Brigades, a Hamas special forces unit in Hamas which specialises in kidnap.
His incarceration was a particular cause of complaint for Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar who was upset that Issa was not freed alongside him in 2011. Sinwar launched the October 7 atrocity in part to take enough hostages to force Israel to free the likes of Issa, who had been in jail since 1993.
Others staying at the luxury hotel include Isis member Izz a-Din al-Hamamrah, 47, who recruited suicide bombers and planned hijackings; bus bomb mastermind Samir Abu Nima, 64; ambusher Muhammad Zawahra, 52; kidnapper Ismail Hamdan, 57; and murderer Yousuf Dawud, 39.

He was part of a group of terrorists who befriended a Jewish teenager, lured him to the West Bank, and then stabbed and shot him to death in a murder that shocked Israel in 2002.

Police have launched an urgent manhunt after a migrant sex offender was mistakenly freed from scandal-hit HMP Wandsworth a week ago.
It’s understood the missing prisoner is Brahim Kaddour-Cherif, who most recently appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in September on a charge of failing to comply with sex offender requirements.
The Algerian convict, 24, was serving time for trespass with an intent to steal but has previously committed a sexual offence of indecent exposure.
Kaddour-Cherif was released from the south London prison in error on October 29 but the mistake was only reported to the Met Police on Tuesday (November 4), raising serious questions over why it took nearly a week for the force to be informed.

The blunder is the latest controversy to hit HMP Wandsworth, the same prison where former soldier Daniel Khalife mounted his high-profile escape from and where female prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu was filmed having sex with an inmate.
The Algerian’s accidental release also marks another humiliating blow to the Government who are still scrambling to recover from the fallout of migrant sex attacker Hadush Kebatu being mistakenly freed from HMP Chelmsford just days ago.
Kebatu, who was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and a woman in Epping, Essex, was freed in error on October 24 before he was arrested in Finsbury Park, north London, three days later.
The Ethiopian migrant, whose offences sparked protests outside the asylum seeker hotel he was staying in and around the country, was deported to his home country last Tuesday. He was paid £500 in taxpayers’ money to leave after threatening to disrupt his removal.
Just two days before the Algerian convict was released, David Lammy, the Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary, had vowed to increase checks on prisoners being released following the nationwide manhunt for Kebatu.
It’s understood he knew about the second wrongly released prisoner ‘overnight’ but refused to answer five times whether any more asylum seekers had been mistakenly freed since Kebatu during deputy Prime Minister’s Questions today.
Shadow Defence Secretary James Cartlidge, who was standing in for Tory leader Kemi Badenoch in the Commons, asked Mr Lammy five times about any other asylum seeker prisoners being released.
Mr Lammy refused to answer. Mr Cartlidge then said in a point of order at the end of the session he was reading reports that the Algerian inmate was on the run.

Kaddour-Cherif had been serving time for a break-in at the Royal Society of Literature in Somerset House on the Strand in September 2023.
He also had a previous sexual offence conviction for exposing himself to a woman in March 2024 in Lloyd Park in Walthamstow, east London – not far from his address in Tower Hamlets.
Kaddour-Cherif had previously been charged with a string of other alleged offences, including possession of a knife, handling stolen goods and another count of burglary.

An Israeli woman who was held hostage in Iraq for two-and-a-half years has revealed the horrific sexual abuse and torture she was forced to endure.
Elizabeth Tsurkov, 38, said members of Kata’ib Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militia that has been designated a terrorist organisation by the US, ‘whipped [her] all over’ almost immediately after she was kidnapped in 2023.
‘They basically used me as a punching bag’, she told the New York Times.
Elizabeth, a doctoral student at Princeton University in New Jersey, was kidnapped in March 2023 after being stood up by a woman who had asked to meet her at a Baghdad coffee shop to help research ISIS.
The researcher, who was in Iraq to study the Shiite movement, agreed after the woman said they had a mutual friend.
But this person never showed up. Instead, as Elizabeth walked home, she was kidnapped by several men in a black SUV.
Though she desperately called out for help and tried to escape, her kidnappers beat and sexually assaulted her: ‘They started twisting my pinkie, almost breaking it. So I thought resisting more was pointless’.
Upon arriving at a large house with her head in a bag and her hands zip-tied together, she was taken to a windowless room with two cameras – her home for the next four-and-a-half months.
When her captors realised she was from Israel, the Kata’ib Hezbollah terrorists believed she was a spy and refused to believe her despite her insistence that she was hugely supportive of Palestinian rights and critical of the Israeli government.
She refused to confess to the lie of her being a spy, and as a result she was ‘strung up and tortured’.

But the sexual assault continued, with one man known as the ‘colonel’ groping her and threatening her with rape. She said of him: ‘He was very filthy and very obsessed with sex’.
The terrorists continued to threaten her with more sexual abuse, but didn’t follow through with it, she said.

And she invented names for her supposed handlers, claiming that she worked with a man called ‘Ethan Numia’. ‘Inuim’ is the Hebrew word for torture.

An Israeli man freed from captivity in Gaza has revealed for the first time how he was sexually assaulted and tortured by his kidnappers in an interview with Israel’s Channel 13 programme Hazinor.
Rom Braslavski, 21, was violently abducted by Palestinian Islamic Jihad on October 7, 2023 while he was working as a security guard at the Nova music festival.
He was held captive for more than two years in brutal conditions and was released last month as part of a US-brokered ceasefire deal that saw all living hostages freed.
In a televised interview, Mr Braslavski speaks of his horrific ordeal for the first time and detailed how his captors stripped him naked, tied him up and made him starve.
‘They stripped me of all my clothes — underwear, everything. They tied me up from my… while I was completely naked. I was torn apart, dying, with no food,’ he said.

‘It was sexual violence — and its main purpose was to humiliate me,’ he said. ‘The goal was to crush my dignity. And that’s exactly what he did.’
When asked by Channel 13 reporter Roni Aviram if more assaults took place, Mr Braslavski confirmed they had.
‘Yes. It’s hard for me to talk about that part specifically. I don’t like to talk about it. It’s hard, It was the most horrific thing,’ he said.
‘It’s something even the Nazis didn’t do. During Hitler’s time, they wouldn’t have done things like this. You just pray for it to stop. And while I was there — every day, every beating — I’d say to myself, ‘I survived another day in hell. Tomorrow morning, I’ll wake up to another hell. And another. And another. It doesn’t end.’
‘I came back from meeting the devil’, he added.
While female hostages such as Amit Soussana and Ilana Gritzewsky have bravely spoken of sexual assault in captivity, Rom’s testimony is the first by a male survivor to publicly describe such abuse.
Gritzewsky, who testified before the UN Security Council, described being held at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis:
‘On the way to Gaza, when they started to touch me and sexually abuse me, I passed out physically and mentally. I couldn’t handle it anymore. ‘
In May, 15-year-old Dafna Elyakim spoke publicly about the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of one of her Hamas captors during her time in Gaza.
She had been abducted from her father’s home in Kibbutz Nahal Oz along with her younger sister, Ela, then aged eight.
‘We had one guard, one of the terrorists, who would touch me all the time, or tell me that I was going to stay there — that they would return Ela and everyone else — and only I would stay behind with him. He said we were going to have children together and a house and all that,’ she said.’He would always tell me that he was coming with me to shower.’
Last August, Mr Braslavski family authorised the release of parts of a video distributed by Islamic Jihad, showing him emaciated, tortured, unable to stand, and pleading for his life.
His mother, Tami, who campaigned tirelessly across the world for his release, said her son was tempted with food to convert to Islam but refused, holding on to his Jewish identity.

Militants in Sudan have staged horrific public mass gang rapes and slaughtered 40 people at a funeral as the country’s ‘nightmare of violence’ continues.
Frightened people who have been forced to flee El-Fasher after it fell to the Rapid Support Forces have described horrific abuse, including rape at the hands of the militants.
Speaking from a makeshift shelter, Amira, a mother of four, said: ‘The rapes were gang rapes. Mass rape in public, rape in front of everyone and no one could stop it.’
‘You’d be asleep and they’d come and rape you,’ said Amira, using a pseudonym while speaking during a webinar organised by campaign group Avaaz.
‘I saw with my own eyes people who couldn’t afford to pay and the fighters took their daughters instead. They said, ”Since you can’t pay, we’ll take the girls.” If you had daughters of a young age, they would take them immediately.’
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said more than 300 survivors of sexual violence had sought care from its teams in Tawila after a previous RSF assault on the nearby Zamzam camp, which displaced more than 380,000 people last spring.
According to a report by charity groups, children as young as one have been brutally raped.
The UN’s OCHA agency said: ‘Local sources report that at least 40 civilians were killed and dozens injured yesterday in an attack on a funeral gathering in El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State.

Terrifying videos have also shown how gunmen entered a maternity hospital and killed 460 people.

The RSF at war with the military since 2023, was preparing to launch an assault in Kordofan after capturing El-Fasher, the last army stronghold in the vast western Darfur region.
