Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.
So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

The Audio book War is Racket. Richard what are your thoughts on this?

I haven’t listened to the book but I have heard about it for a long time, Butler is suppose to have told the truth about the way various corporations and their owners were getting rich by selling promoting wars and selling supplies to the US Military. We still have the same problem with some people promoting war so they can keep their factories busy making war supplies.
The problem is that we need to factories in case we get into a major war but can’t buy enough to keep them open in peace time. Some of the “Merchants of Death” take advantage of this while others simply want to keep us safe, we have a hard time telling the difference when all are pushing for military action. Given what is happening in the US and around the world there will be man fortunes made in the coming decades as the world descends into a lot of small wars that will mimic one or two major wars.
War is a Racket
That war is a racket has been told us by many, but rarely by one of this stature. Though he died in 1940, the highly decorated General Butler (two esteemed Medals of Honor) deserves to be heralded for his timeless message, which rings true today more than ever. His riveting 1935 book War is a Racket merits inclusion as required reading for every high school student, and for every member of our armed forces today.

This is massive. China is allowing gold warrants for countries to finance projects. This means countries can pledge their own gold without selling it, but by providing a warrant (promissory note of some sort) as collateral they will receive in return the cash to do what it is they want to do. This directly undermines the U.S. Treasury Bill infrastructure currently in place.

The “Climate Crisis” Dr. Vernon Coleman’s opinion
“The most incredibly stupid argument made by the climate change nutters that we should stop using fossil fuels and use electricity instead. That would perhaps be a fine idea if we didn’t obtain nearly all our electricity by burning fossil fuels. And that can’t possibly change for decades. Without burning fossil fuels most of us would die. Oh whoops, that’s the plan isn’t it?”

Dutch fugitive who abducted his children among those killed by Israeli strikes on Gaza
https://nltimes.nl/2025/09/24/dutch-fugitive-abducted-children-among-killed-israeli-strikes-gaza
An Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip killed a Dutch citizen who was convicted last year of abusing his wife and forcing their five children to live with him in the Palestinian region. The 41-year-old is at least the second Dutch citizen whose death was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Hassan Abu Shaeera was convicted by the District Court in Midden-Nederland in June 2024, and ordered to serve three and a half years in prison. His death was first confirmed by RTL Nieuws, who spoke to the man’s attorney, though it is not clear when he died. Four of the children are still believed to be in Gaza.

https://nltimes.nl/2025/09/23/netherlands-nears-deal-uganda-deportation-centers-hold-asylum-seekers
The caretaker Dutch government is close to a deal with Uganda to open deportation centers in the African country for asylum seekers whose applications were rejected, sources told RTL Nieuws. Asylum Minister David van Weel (VVD) hopes to reach an agreement with his Ugandan counterpart during the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week, the sources said.
The Ministry itself confirmed to the broadcaster that the talks were well advanced, but declined to comment on whether an agreement would be reached this week or when the two Ministers would meet. “We are not getting ahead of this, but Minister Van Weel is optimistic,” a Ministry spokesperson said.

Arnhem to increase patrols around Central Station amid youth crime surge
https://nltimes.nl/2025/09/22/arnhem-increase-patrols-around-central-station-amid-youth-crime-surge
Authorities in Arnhem plan to step up enforcement around Central Station following a rise in criminal incidents involving minors, many of whom have completed asylum procedures or are from countries deemed safe for asylum, city officials said.
Mayor Ahmed Marcouch said the station area has seen fights, shoplifting, and a recent stabbing. “The station is also a hotspot where young women are regularly harassed. A group of about forty boys went to a school to settle a dispute. That kind of situation,” he said in comments to De Gelderlander.
“It is primarily the responsibility of the national government. Many boys should be expelled, but they continue to roam. You need international cooperation to ensure their countries of origin accept them back. My responsibility is to uphold our norms and values, and to protect safety and public order,” Marcouch said.
Marcouch warned that these minors can be both perpetrators and victims. “You have nothing, no perspective. Then you become vulnerable to criminal temptations,” he said.
He noted that some youths around Arnhem Central have frozen asylum procedures. “If they have a future here, integration must start from day one. If not, deportation must start from day one. Right now they are being shuffled around—moving from station to station with no community ties, in anonymity. As soon as they form a connection to a place, they have to leave again.”
Three Dutch cities maintain housing priority for asylum permit holders despite new law
https://nltimes.nl/2025/09/20/three-dutch-cities-maintain-housing-priority-asylum-permit-holders-despite-new-law
Three of the Netherlands’ 20 largest municipalities—Amsterdam, Arnhem, and Haarlem—plan to continue giving priority to asylum seekers who have received residence permits for social housing, even if a new law prohibits it, a survey by Pointer shows.
The law bars municipalities from granting such priority and is now under review by the Eerste Kamer; it is part of the Housing Act reform passed by the Tweede Kamer in July.
Municipalities are legally required to house a set number of residence-permit asylum seekers, with targets updated every six months. For example, The Hague must place slightly over 400, while Veendam must house 20.
Haarlem alderwoman Floor Roduner said, “This law is unworkable. As long as we have these placement obligations, the only way to comply is to allocate social housing to residence-permit asylum seekers.”
Arnhem officials said they will also continue prioritizing asylum seekers with residence permits. “We believe we must put humanity first and allow them to participate in society so they don’t languish in an asylum center. Participation from day one requires proper housing,” they said.
Other municipalities raised concerns about the law. Tilburg alderman Yusuf Celik called it “extremely unwise, counterproductive, and an expensive solution.” Utrecht officials said they are bound to obey the law but strongly disagree, calling it a “moral low point.” Groningen warned that removing priority would undermine housing allocation, distribution, and integration.

The incidents have all occurred on and around Zevenbergsedijkje and the Cornelis van Beverenbrug in the IJsselmonde district. The first report was on July 7, and the most recent on September 3. Five of the women reported that the man physically attacked them, the police said on the investigation program Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday.
Suspect arrested after “violent attempted break-in” at Israeli Embassy in The Hague
https://nltimes.nl/2025/09/20/suspect-arrested-violent-attempted-break-israeli-embassy-hague
Police arrested a suspect Friday evening following an incident at the Israeli embassy in The Hague, authorities said. The embassy described the incident as a “violent attempt at a break-in.”
A spokesperson said the suspect was found carrying “arson materials.” All embassy staff were reported safe.
“We thank the police for the quick arrest and expect the government to take appropriate measures and condemn this attack,” the embassy said in a statement.
The arrest follows a previous vandalism incident at the same embassy last month, when the entrance was defaced with red paint. Three suspects were apprehended at that time.
