Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    Leo Terrell, chair of the federal Task Force to Combat Antisemitism at the U.S. Justice Department and a civil-rights attorney of 35 years, wrote on social media on Tuesday that the Israeli embassy told him about a “horrific antisemitic attack” in St. Louis, where a U.S. citizen who served in the Israeli military, as well as his family and friends, were targeted.

    • One of five displayable comments on the Mayor’s page thinks that arson is a good idea when it’s targeted like this. I hope she’s not a teacher.

A few wished that the owners had been burned. Go figure the logic on that one! These are apparently written under the names of real people. US free speech case law encompassescommdnts like these, but immigration and visa laws allow the US to exclude from entry people who advocate for violence against Americans.

  10. Sadly, I share Dersh’s pessimism.

    • Listening to him, it feels like a lot of this is his fault. He ALWAYS voted Democrat? RIght up till 2024? So he voted for Obama twice? He worked with Pierre Trudeau?
      Pierre was a very nasty antisemite and did a lot to hurt the Jewish people in Canada.

      Even turning down a large donation to a hospital because it was from Jewish donors, but way worse as well.

      Obama funded Al Queda and the Islamic State, even trained them.

      Kinda thinking Dersh is, well kind of the cause of the problems he is lamenting.

      • Yes, but he’s done sincere teshuvah [penitence].
        He finally saw the light. So bright it hurt a lot, but he wouldn’t avert his eyes.

        From the generation of joooz who experienced the American Dream, he felt obliged to make it happen for everyone. Lower-middle class immigrants, refugees who truly believed in ideals described by the left. Unions to protect sweatshop workers, desegregation, equality of opportunity. He knew enough to eschew the communist left who were deeply embedded in those circles.

        Same sort of process described by David Horowitz [z”h] and Marty Peretz. He was a genuine crusader for civil rights, refuseniks, the whole nine yards of the divine U.S. Constitution. He was seduced by the promise, then encased within the Harvard bubble. Words replaced the reality he had once sincerely championed.

        I had a cousin who was a professor at the Law School at the time, and we were really amused by the bizarre twists of Dersh’s public persona. It certainly took him long enough, my cousin is now congratulating him from heaven. He needs the encouragement: he’s become persona non grata for those he called friends for the six decades or so.

      • He’ll never be forgiven in this lifetime. Someone riffed on a talmudic maxim:

        He has influenced and was tolerant to the intolerant. Now the influenced are intolerant to him.

        I don’t believe he voted for the Kenyan in 2016. He fought against the Iran Deal early. This from 2010:

    Now comes news that American billionaires have prepared compounds in New Zealand in case of apocalypse. Thoughtfully stocked with all that the group would require—air, water, food, entertainment—they stand ready to receive the ultraprivileged. Well and good, but their fantasy, like mine, is flawed. For what is the size of the group for which they foresee transportation, protection and perpetual care?

    The Ottoman Turks raised enslaved Mamelukes to the status first of guards and then of administrators, and all was well until the ’Lukes did the math and realized they didn’t need the Turks.

    Some of the pilots of the billionaires’ getaway planes would surely have families. Happily married pilots would logically insist the families come along for the ride rather than stay and die. The billionaires’ wealth would avail them nothing, for they couldn’t escape without the pilots or pay a man enough to forfeit his family’s life.

    Yes, the wealthy would have armed guards to ensure their own family got safely on board. Wouldn’t the guards insist they and their loved ones go along too? Of course they would.

    The ground crews servicing the planes would, by this logic, act similarly. If staying behind meant death, what would they risk by demanding their inclusion? What’s the rich guy going to do, stop their paycheck? His plane offers the sole escape.

    There would be a limitation: The plane can only carry so much weight. If overloaded, it won’t fly. At some point those on the plane would have to use arms to keep the latecomer hordes off.

    The guards, then, would realize themselves to be the enlightened Mamelukes. If they are the only ones capable of keeping order, and if money is now useless, they have no need of their employer. On the plane he would be dead weight—and in the New Zealand bunker, just a useless mouth to feed. The caretakers, builders, security guards, and so on, of the compound, would insist on being accommodated—if they hadn’t already barricaded themselves in and locked the plutocrats out.

    The World After Society for which the billionaires are preparing is a world without money.…
