Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  2. Telemetrics – relating to the science or process of collecting information about objects that are far away and sending the information somewhere electronically: telemetric technology

    First it was $500, then another $500 charged against me by my insurance company. It wanted me to install eight tracking sensors on my vehicle–‘free of charge’–because my vehicle was stolen so frequently.

    I won’t go into all that is wrong with this. My stolen vehicle will not be found by any insurance company. In twenty minutes it will be Faraday’d into a shipping container or metal building. Poof. Besides, if the cops answer my call it will be two or three days later. If I’m lucky. They have more urgent matters on their hands, like criminalizing wrong thinkers.

    There is already so much telemetric electronics built into modern cars that the dealer knows your mileage before you go in for an oil change. So what are they after by wanting to add more transmitters to your private driving? Clearly, theft is a ruse.

    This past week my friend showed me something she got in the mail from her own insurance company. It was a little plug-in gizmo. It came with a written spiel about how it allows you to track your own driving habits. How cute is that? A five-percent discount on her premium is offered if she uses it. She declined. –Like she cares about tracking her own driving. She doesn’t want Big Brother in her back seat, she said.

    The insurance industry uses the word telematics, not telemetrics, but it is the same thing. While offering a discount for turning your car into a rolling beacon, the streamed data on your braking, acceleration, signaling, time-of-day usage and every other driving habit you have will provide your company with endless excuses to later raise your rates and not only recover the discount you had, but to charge you much more.

    I did a quick search for an article on this nefarious insurance company evolution. I’ve read one before but it didn’t come up this time. All I find are gentle sales pitches disguised as journalism.

    Telemetrics are the new thing as everything around us becomes ‘smart’. Dishwashers, toasters, refrigerators, wristwatches, robotic vacuum cleaners–you name it–are possibly streaming data to some place.

    Conspiracy theory? Paranoid? Ask you insurance company. Whether you play ball with this or not, they make you pay.

    • You can install your own personal tracking device on your car, and possibly steal it back while the police are doing nothing.

      • I discussed that with my insurance company. It defeats their data harvesting so they won’t consider it.
