I could write a long essay here about what the system actually is, as opposed to the veneer of law and constitutional rights Canadians are told they have to keep them quiet while they are inverted dialectically to become state rights and collective rights as defined by the state. But frankly that is all this site ever does, and the entire situation of this trial is depressing as hell.
Now it’s still possible that some form of actual justice will happen, although since Trudeau, carney, Freeland and those who actually really did break laws, probably more so than any politician in Canadian history ever did are not on trial, yet, I don’t see how that can happen. Giving Tamara and Chris a ticker-tape parade, if that’s still a thing, and refunding them and all their supporters every cent they spent so far X 10 and then a pile of money for each day they spent in jail would approximate justice, but still wouldn’t be actual justice since the actual criminals, even as determined by the Federal court of Canada, are not on trial at all. One of them is occupying the office of PM as it happens.
Here are a couple of sound bites from Ezra at the Rebel, and from The Epoch times on the matter. But as far as I understand it, there are still 2 or 3 more days in the pre-sentence hearings in what is the longest mischief trial in I think the history of the world.

I sat in the front row of the Ottawa courtroom today for the sentencing hearing for Tamara Lich and her co-accused, Chris Barber.
The prosecutor went first, demanding a 7-year prison term for Tamara (and 8 years for Chris).
Simply put, there has never been a mischief case that comes close to that for peaceful protesters. In fact, even the worst political “mischief” cases in Canadian history — the G20 riots, which can’t even really be called political, they were pure terrorism — don’t come close to that.
Even brutal anarchists who rioted, smashed police cars, robbed stores and set things on fire at the G20 received just a 17-month sentence. And they want to give Tamara 84 months for a peaceful protest?
It’s outrageous. It has no basis in law. There is no precedent for it. So it couldn’t be clearer: this isn’t about the law. This is about political vengeance against a couple of freedom activists who embarrassed the government.
There were so many lies told in court today. Here’s one example: the prosecutor claimed that because of the trucker convoy, the Chateau Laurier Hotel lost a lot of business. But even the judge could see through that one. She interrupted the prosecutor to point out that the hotel wasn’t even open then — it was shut down because of the government lockdowns, not the truckers! In fact, hotels and restaurants had their most customers in years when the truckers came to town.
Ezra misses a lot of examples that make his case even stronger. During the most hard core part of the lock downs, BLM riots happened all over Canada. Trudeau came out when thousands and thousands of protestors were on the hill and took a knee with them. The city was awash with the BLM line of action very often. Riots certainly took place. Steve’s Music in Montreal was just one of the stores that was looted during the BLM attack on our civilization.

Crown Argues for ‘Extraordinary’ Sentencing at Hearing for Freedom Convoy Organizers
OTTAWA—Prosecutors in the case of Freedom Convoy organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber say they are seeking several years of jail time to deter a future “breakdown of public order.”
The Crown was initially seeking two years’ jail time for both defendants following the April verdict, but Crown prosecutor Siobhan Westcher said at the July 23 sentencing hearing that her office is now seeking seven years in prison for Lich and eight for Barber.
“The Crown acknowledges that it’s seeking an extraordinary sentence in this case,” Westcher told the court. “However, Mr. Barber and Ms. Lich are criminally responsible for extraordinary harm and profound impact to the public.”
Westcher said that the protest had “very vast” impacts on the Ottawa community and that the Crown’s proposed sentencing “accounts for the harm done.” She said 10 years of imprisonment is the maximum sentence for the offence of mischief, adding that it was “difficult to imagine an offence of mischief with greater impact than that committed by Mr. Barber and Ms. Lich.”
The Crown has also said it wants to seize and auction Barber’s truck “Big Red” that he used to travel from Saskatchewan to Ottawa for the three-week protest.
I would ask all readers here to read those sentences carefully and interpret them for what they really mean.
The burning of around 600 churches during the revolutionary period (how the Covid years should properly be understood) doesn’t seem to have called for anything like the punishment being demanded for Chris and Tamara. Trudeau even “understood why it was happening”. The BLM riots involving real violence and crime, nothing. Or even the ‘Wetsuweeten’ protest over something or other where railways were blocked for extended periods of time.
Because all those events were revolutionary in nature.
But people standing up for their charter rights, Bodily autonomy, freedom of speech, and a limit to state power, that is counter-revolutionary. And when the crown says, “difficult to imagine an offence of mischief with greater impact than that committed by Mr. Barber and Ms. Lich.” they mean a threat to the creation and continuance of a Hegelian, God like state.
Increasingly, the only real crime is being an effective counter-revolutionary.
And Tamara and Chris are certainly that. Not because of anything they actually did that was different than well over 100,000 of us that went to the hill on one or more occasions to express our horror at what the state had done to us. But because communists operate symbolically. They destroy reality by taking down it’s symbols, and they create an effect they want by making symbols and lionizing or destroying them as the moment demands.
Chris and Tamara indeed were organizers of a perfectly legal protest. but not the ones who started it. A lot of good people thought it was a necessary idea. Chris and Tamara just made it work a little better than it would have without a little better organization. The state made them into symbols of the entire event in order to destroy people’s perception of it, and to punish all counter-revolutionaries collectively in the body of Chris and Tamara.
Much like how they destroy statues of Canada’s founders. They impute attributes to them which simply are not true, and then destroy them; and with them, the idea of Canada as a nation state and a (more or less) republic.
Communists operate symbolically. And as much as it Gauls me to admit it, this does work to a degree.
Narratives are invented, then manipulated and reality itself changes the way the controllers of the narrative want it to.
“He who controls the past, controls the future. He who controls the present, controls the past”.
To see the truth of this, I ask you to spend 5 minutes trying to find any of the thousands of hours of propaganda Canadian government-media complex organizations made about the existential threat of Nuclear Winter. Longer if you like a challenge. It was alleged to be the same cause as “Global Warming”. Western industry would block out the sun from pollution. The exact tactic some governments, albeit overtly communist ones like Great Britain and I think New Zealand are planning to actually do to combat “global warming”. So both Nuclear Winter, AND Global warming are narrative attacks intended to destroy Western productivity, and with it, the West as a culture, a people etc.
Chris and Tamara are two of a hundred thousand that attended the protest and millions who held the same belief in bodily autonomy and individual rights, and through their efforts helped unify us for a while. But they have been made into symbols of the counter-revolution and the state wants them made examples of.
They also became a symbol for millions upon millions of Canadians who felt the same way. Perhaps only 20% had the skills or opportunities to manage to avoid taking the clot-shots. But a large percentage of people who took them didn’t want to, and only did to satisfy state directives.

Bit now would be a good time to think clearly about what you are seeing.
Stephen Coughlin often quotes a rabbi he works with: “We have to stop seeing what we know, and start knowing what we see”.
Maybe the first step to do that is recognize that we really are living in a matrix. Where what happens to the avatars and symbols has a real effect on the flesh and blood people.
Not believing the constant wave of narrative attacks, be it on Russia-Ukraine, Israel Gaza, whatever else is shoved at you is a start. This doesn’t mean having a position different than the one you have now. It means asking yourself why you have the position you do, and how many people have you cut yourselves off from, because of this position you hold? Or have cut you off when frankly, a few short years ago all these issues were academic more or less.
Why do those issues concern you and not for example, the ongoing genocide of Christians across African by Muslims?
The continued slavery in Mauritania?
The wholesale slaughter of the Druze in Syria?
This sentencing hearing of Chris and Tamara is making the props in this theatre we live in stand out more clearly than ever. And if you want to escape the matrix, if you want to take the Red Pill, the first step is knowing what you see. And it isn’t what we are told, and most of the time, not even what we tell each other.

I sat outside that courthouse yesterday. I just wanted to see, and it was a beautiful day. I sat on a concrete bench out front. The sun heaved itself up towards noon.
A man stood in this space out front surrounded by signs. The signs said no to communism, no to the vaxxx, no to this and no to that. One sign said something to the effect that people who escaped communist countries know communism when they see it. Maybe, but not always. If I sound jaded it is intentional, because as valid as that man’s signs are, and the messages they carry, he and they remain furniture in Canada. Lawyers, cops and every other walk of life walked past him, oblivious to the sky he sees is falling. Gross injustice is the other guy’s problem until it visits you. Like illness.
A man came and sat beside me on the bench. He lit a cigarette. He carried an air of weary resignation in his body. A little saggy. Defeated.
“He’s not crazy, you know,” he said after a moment in a low voice, almost in a whisper beneath his breath.
“I agree with you. But nobody pays attention.”
“A system captured is injustice normalized.”
I said nothing at first to this. I was surprised to hear such a statement from a stranger, in the relatively shallow context it was offered. But his words stirred in deeper waters than speaking about the weather. I realized I had misjudged my first impression of him. His weary facade was due more to being philosophical. Perhaps fatalistic.
“What do you mean,” I asked.
“I mean that you know communism is embedded in a country when the system attacks people because they are symbolic of counter-revolution. Have you ever walked around here, or up on Parliament Hill, just to look for the symbols? They are everywhere and they are changing. Statues of historical figures are exchanged for new symbols to erase history. Slogans and strange new flags appear. We underestimate the importance of symbolism to communism.”
“Interesting take,” I said. He took a drag on his smoke and continued, rubbing one eye.
“Look at me. I’m about to go into the courthouse for a settlement conference on my divorce. Four years going on five, and not once have I been able to have a proper adult conversation with my wife.”
“Why not?”
“The system prevents it. Anything I say can and will be used against me. Family law is completely woke and biased. It feigns justice while destroying–in my case–the symbol of the white, ambitious, industrious, successful man. Not only that, but it destroys capital by transferring it.”
“I see.” I wasn’t sure what to say.
“This courthouse presents itself,” he said waving one hand towards the building, “as a place of justice when in fact it has become pure Soviet. There is little justice to be found here, and when there is it is a fleeting anomaly, surely to be ‘corrected’.”
“It’s not fair.”
“Fair?” he chuckled without a hint of anger. “I don’t know what is fair. If I am destroyed financially it is an injustice. If you get cancer tomorrow it is unfair. In that case it’s better to be me than you. The Soviets stole years from Alexander Solzhenitsyn. This was a great injustice. To call it unfair is to mistake wine for whiskey. Fair is weak. I’m sorry, but you’re absolutely correct, the mind does wander down this path when confronted by communism. The system becomes the water we swim in. Injustice inevitably will find you somehow, some way, even if it is by the sentence of a slow death by despair.”
With that the man stood, turned, and walked into the building. I wondered how the sentencing would go on Tamara Lich and Chris Barber.
An excellent comment. Thank you. I concur, based on my personal experience, that family law is completely woke and biased. I parallel your comments that the entire country is dissolving into totalitarianism and a kind of passive brutality engineered by thugs in suits and ties.

Why is this lie allowed to pass? Why is the Criminal Trial Lawyers’ Association not speaking up? Why are lies by prosecutors sanctioned in courts of law? Siobhan Westcher pretends to be a lawyer. I submit that she should be tarred and feathered in disgrace. What Canada has become is a sickening travesty. No matter where I look I see deep corruption, lies, robbery and destruction at every level. We cannot allow this to continue or we will face gulags, summary executions without trial, deliberate starvation and all the rest of the tools in the bag of communist and fascist muderers.

Canada is a country in decay. You can blame governments but the real blame is on the shoulders of we the people. The baby boomers was the start of the end for Canada. Take all and give nothing back. When a individual sitting in a outdoor eatery in Ottawa wishes Tammara and Chris max penalty calling them false names is a true picture of the rapid mental illness within our borders. When mental illness invades governments and the judicial system the protection of we are lost. Where this ends is even beyond my prediction but it will not end well.

This Court case is nothing more than Trudeau’s persecution, yes, persecution, of Canadians who offended his narcissistic arrogance. In persecuting them, with literally busloads of highly paid Government lawyers, Trudeau and his supporters are persecuting all of us with. Government lawfare. Persecute those who bow in subservience until we can no longer afford to try to protect ourselves bu using a legal system with unlimited taxpayer fund to wear down those same taxpayers.
The various Human Rights Tribunals have the same attitude.
