Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

Israel’s Defense Exports Hit New Record in 2024, Half Went to Europe
In a year of war, with combat challenges at home and political challenges abroad, including the banning of firms from leading international exhibitions, Israel’s defense industry achieved a new record in defense exports in 2024: $14.795 billion, up about 11.7% from 2023 and double the amount five years ago, the Ministry of Defense reports.
The main engine of demand was Europe, where defense budgets have increased due to the Russia-Ukraine war, and the proportion of Israel’s defense exports has jumped from 35% to 54%.
An intriguing increase during the war has been in the Abraham Accords countries, which, after falling from 24% to only 3% in 2023, jumped again to 12% in 2024. In contrast, a sharp, substantial decline was recorded in Asia-Pacific, the largest destination until last year, from 48% to 23%… [because Asian clients demand total tech transfer, local production].
Air defense leads demand
The war has created a major challenge for Israel’s defense industries. Companies must supply Israel’s defense needs, sometimes at the expense of delaying deliveries to customers abroad, or if possible doubling and sometimes even more the number of production lines. At the same time, the war increased demand for products even more because they are “combat tested” – proven on the battlefield.
“The combination of industries, IDF and Ministry of Defense is attractive in the world… When engineers in industries serve in the reserves and then return to development, this is unique to Israel. This brings about an increase in global demand…”

Why Hamas Won’t Accept U.S. Gaza Ceasefire Offer
Hamas [is] determined to secure the withdrawal of Israeli forces in order to begin replenishing and reorganizing its forces.
Any agreement which threatens to reduce the main asset Hamas holds – the remaining Israeli hostages – must be rejected.
Hamas sees no reason to soften or compromise its position. Deriving from its Islamist ideology, Hamas is entirely indifferent to loss of life among the residents of Gaza. It also appears to prefer the continued decimation of its own forces rather than accept a continued Israeli presence in Gaza that would make it impossible for Hamas to reorganize.
The Gaza Islamists hope through manipulation of Israeli society’s high sensitivity to the lives of its own civilians to increase and exacerbate existing societal divisions within Israel, and lead eventually to the cessation of Israel’s war effort.
Israel, by contrast, has from the outset of the war been forced to juggle two contradictory objectives. [Freeing of all Israeli hostages, and the destruction of Hamas].
These aims are contradictory in that if they prioritize the former, this must inevitably reduce one’s determination to pursue the latter. Prioritize Hamas’s destruction, by contrast, and you reduce the possibility of getting hostages back…
Israel’s war effort for most of the last 19 months has been stymied by this contradiction. While portraying its campaign as an attempt to destroy Hamas capacities, Israel in fact sought to apply military pressure on the terror group to soften its stance in the hostage negotiations…
This logic was, for obvious reasons, not admitted by Israeli spokespersons, who continued to maintain that there was no contradiction between Israel’s war aims, and that it was pursuing both of them. Reality, however, was stronger. Now, Jerusalem’s acceptance of Witkoff’s framework suggests that clearly the US envoy’s proposal was in line with both of these goals…

This third such targeted attack on American Jews in three months confirms a disturbing trend. In April, the home of Pennsylvania’s Jewish governor was firebombed shortly after he hosted a Passover meal. In May, two Israeli embassy staffers were shot dead outside the Capital Jewish Museum. And this weekend, the fire returned – this time in Boulder. This time in broad daylight. This time with the specific intent to incinerate Jewish pensioners gathered to remember kidnapped civilians.
At a shooting range in South Florida, I met Jews who on October 7th, 2023 chose to arm themselves for the first time – a story I heard over and over as I met with members of the Jewish community, from lawyers to PR men to mums and dads. They’re training. Securing homes, temples, and schools as if a war has already begun.
Because this week, we learnt it has. Had there been a single armed guard among the elderly marchers in Boulder, it’s possible we would be talking today about a foiled terror attack – not about charred flesh and burned lives.

This is the most telling statement, a single armed guard, when the people are armed and ready to defend themselves very few attacks occur. When they are unarmed and helpless the predators swarm in to attack, if you can legally arm yourself buy weapons, get trained and carry every time you leave the house.
We have had enough dead victims because they couldn’t fight back.
