This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  8. President Donald Trump has announced secondary tariffs on foreign countries that purchase oil and gas from Venezuela. The tariffs are in response to Venezuela “purposefully and deceitfully” sending illegal alien gang members, including those with Tren de Aragua, to the United States via the southern border, Trump said.

    The tariffs announced by Trump on Monday via Truth Social, indicate that any country purchasing oil or gas from Venezuela “will be forced to pay a tariff of 25 percent to the United States on any trade they do with our country.”

    Australia implemented a firearm ban and mandatory confiscation in 1996 pursuant to the National Firearms Agreement, in which nearly 700,000 privately-owned firearms were turned in to the government and destroyed. In 2017, NRA-ILA described how the country’s anti-gun officials and activists were nonetheless continuing to demand even stricter gun controls: “For those interested in restricting freedom, there’s always one more step that must be taken.”
    True to predictions, the State of Western Australia (WA) has since adopted what the state government calls “Australia’s toughest firearms laws,” the Firearms Act Reforms 2024 and regulations, which take effect at the end of March.

    In the meantime, the government has been running a gun “buyback” scheme since February 2024 for gun owners who will have to give up their guns under the new law, with a budget of A $64.3 million. As of January 2025, the government reported that approximately 52,000 firearms had been surrendered to police and removed, the “biggest reduction of firearms anywhere in the nation since 1997 when then Prime Minister John Howard introduced the National Firearms Agreement and buyback scheme.”

    At the time the laws were proposed, WA’s government called the changes historic firearm reforms that would enhance community safety but, more to the point, laws that would “reduce unnecessary firearm ownership.” “Unnecessary,” obviously, is a subjective concept.

    The latest laws include new license categories, prohibitions and disqualifications, restrictions on the number of guns an individual may own, mandatory health evaluations, mandatory training, and strict new storage requirements.

    For individuals, licenses will be required for competitive shooters (“participating in shooting competitions held by a licensed firearm club at a licensed firearm range”); these licensees are limited to a maximum of ten firearms. A hunting license is required for anyone engaging in the lawful hunting of animals on land which the license holder has authority to hunt on, and the land must be registered with the government by the landowner. The maximum number of firearms that can be licensed under a hunting license is five, and is restricted to firearms listed as a “category A or B” firearm. The introduction of these firearm ownership limits was expected “to remove up to 13,000 guns from the WA community.”

    Paintball Licenses

    A paintball license “authorizes the licensee to use a prescribed paintball gun for the purposes of participating in games of paintball conducted under the authority of a Paintball Business License,” with very specific requirements for the location of use and the paintball gun itself (e.g., the paintball gun must have “a calibre of at least 0.4 inches and not more than 0.68 inches”). Collectors of firearms, to qualify for a license, “must prove they are a student of arms and are a member of an approved society of collectors,” and “each firearm, major firearm part or ammunition already held or applied for must fall within the scope of the applicant’s applied interest.” In addition, the collection must meet defined “collectable firearm requirements.”

    Persons with specified criminal convictions or subject to various restraining or protective orders stand to lose their licenses and have their guns seized. A license holder served with an interim restraining order or charged with a disqualifying offence becomes “an interim disqualified person during the court process” until the matter is resolved, and, during this period, their firearm license is suspended and firearms seized. Disqualification periods for such court orders are the length of the order plus five years: if an order lasted two years, “on the day it expires the 5-year period commences which then totals a disqualification period of 7 years” – a cumulative period more than three times the duration of the prohibiting order. For individuals with a disqualifying conviction, they remain disqualified for the period that represents the maximum imprisonment time possible for their offence plus any actual term of imprisonment, or, if the person was not imprisoned, the maximum imprisonment penalty. “Disqualifying offences and orders will be considered retrospectively,” meaning individuals with convictions and orders that predate the effective date of the laws may still be prohibited.

    WA becomes the first Australian jurisdiction to require specific, recurring mental health checks as part of the licensing of gun owners. These include a self-assessment form that the applicant or licensee completes and takes to their medical provider. The doctor is to review the self-assessment form and conduct a medical assessment of the applicant/licensee, with the results reported to police (meets or does not meet the firearm authority health standards, or meets with conditions). New license applicants must undergo the examination as part of the application process; existing licensees will be subject to health examinations incrementally over a five-year transitional period. Licensees aged 80 or over will be required to undergo annual exams.

    The new security and storage requirements depend on the type of firearm involved (including paintball guns, air rifles, muzzle-loading long guns, cannons, “kiln guns,” tranquilizer guns, and handguns). To make it easier for gun owners to understand this part of the law, the WA Police have published a color-coded matrix chart that breaks down the mandatory storage requirements based on the number and type of guns, and whether the storage location is occupied or unoccupied. This contains additional instructions for shared compliant storage (“a family could store all their firearms in one large cabinet so long as they are made temporarily inoperable so other family members with access to the firearms cabinet cannot use the firearm”) and on the necessary surveillance and alarm system standards. Separate security requirements apply to firearms when being transported.

    Elsewhere in Australia, the State of Victoria is ramping up their machete law from a restriction to the country’s first-ever machete ban. Last year, the government proposed the Firearms and Control of Weapons (Machetes) Amendment Bill 2024 to restrict the use of machetes as weapons by specifically listing “machetes” as a type of “controlled weapon” that could not be possessed, carried, or used without a “lawful excuse,” or sold to anyone under the age of 18. The penalty for carrying a controlled weapon without a lawful excuse is a fine of more than A$23,000 or a jail term of one year. (According to the state police, “[s]elf-defence is not a lawful excuse for carrying [a] controlled weapon or dangerous articles.”)
    Machete Bans

    Earlier this month, Victoria Premier Jacinta Allan announced harsher measures to reclassify machetes as “prohibited weapons,” making their sale, possession, and use illegal except for persons with government exemptions. The measure would take effect on September 1, although an amnesty between September 1 and November 30 would allow people to dispose of such weapons “using secure bins in safe locations.” Otherwise, those caught possessing a machete will face penalties that include up to two years in jail or a fine exceeding A$47,000.

    Machetes would join the already lengthy list of “prohibited weapons” in the state that includes flick knives, non-metal/ceramic knives (“excluding plastic cutlery”), swords, laser pointers, slingshots and catapults, tasers/stun guns, crossbows, laser-tag imitation firearms, gel blaster guns, extendable batons, “acoustic anti-personnel devices,” and mace sprays and similar “noxious discharge articles” (club-type maces are also prohibited, “other than a ceremonial mace made for and used solely as a symbol of authority on ceremonial occasions”).

    The state government has not yet finalized the key definition of “machete” or the exemptions framework, although it has indicated that machetes “can be broadly described as a cutting edge knife with a blade of more than 20 centimetres [about 8 inches]. Government will consult with industry on this definition before the ban starts, with kitchen knives not intended to be included.”

    “That’s not a knife,” Crocodile Dundee famously taunted a mugger in the hit 1986 film. “That’s a knife!” he continued, flashing his own hunting blade. Only now, Dundee’s iconic knife is apparently a banned machete, and his (non-injurious) use of it for defensive purposes would be banned as well.

    Apart from these major issues, there are other obvious problems. Turning in machetes under the amnesty would be entirely voluntary, with no compensation offered, and the government “has not outlined any proactive enforcement strategy to track remaining weapons after the amnesty period ends.” Machetes may still be legally imported into Australia because the federal government has not implemented a nationwide ban or other restrictions. And although Premier Allan has called on retailers to stop placing stock orders for machetes, residents will be able to circumvent the ban by buying machetes in other states.

    Criminals, true to form, will continue to ignore the law, as they have always done, and acquire (and use) machetes and other “prohibited weapons” and guns illegally.

    That, of course, is the heart of the matter. Human nature being what it is, the evil-minded and the mindlessly violent will always be with us. A former WA police commissioner observes that going after law-abiding sports shooters, and farmers and others who require access to legitimate firearms “is nonsensical because it’s not going to make a difference to the problem” of illegal guns and violent crime. Premier Allen, speaking of the Victoria’s new ban, seemingly ignored the role that the criminal element plays in wreaking havoc on her state’s residents and focused on scapegoating the tool: “Machetes are destroying lives so we will destroy machetes.”

    As American Founding Father Thomas Jefferson recognized long ago, laws forbidding the carrying of arms “disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes” while making “things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants.” As honest Australians fret over whether possessing a kitchen knife is liable to turn them into felons, criminals are apt to rejoice that curtailing “unnecessary firearm ownership” and other weapon clampdowns simply disarm their would-be victims.

    Making citizens more vulnerable increases crime which, in turn, justifies the “one more step” required to enhance public safety. Rinse and repeat.

  12. Dems Want Patel Removed at ATF; Gun Group Asks ‘What Are They Afraid Of?’

    It’s beginning to look like Democrats are losing their grip on gun control in Washington, D.C.

    After a group of 14 anti-gun-rights Democrats sent a letter to President Donald Trump calling for the removal of Kash Patel as acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, a major national gun rights group is suggesting they “pound sand.”
    Democrat House members Mike Thompson, Robin L. Kelly, Dan Goldman, Eleanor Holmes Norton, Eric Swalwell, Mike Quigley, Grace Meng, Nikema Williams, Mark Pocan, Emanuel Cleaver, II, Gwen S. Moore, Jennifer L. McClellan, Haley M. Stevens and Rashida Tlaib signed the March 3 letter. Identifying themselves as “members of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force,” they intimated Patel, who now heads the FBI, is “an unqualified partisan” who will “oversee our federal gun violence prevention laws.”

    The letter also complains that Patel is “someone without experience fighting crime.”

    As noted by The Hill, the Democrats also said, “Since the Biden-era Safer Communities Act passed in a bipartisan manner in 2022, there has been a “historic reduction” in gun violence.”

    However, responding to the letter, which was posted on social media, Alan Gottlieb at the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, fired back.

    “Apparently,” Gottlieb said, “everybody who signed that letter slept through last year’s stunning revelation that the FBI’s initial report of a 1.7 percent decrease in violent crime from 2021 to 2022 was quietly adjusted to show a 4.5 percent increase. House Oversight Chair James Comer launched a probe of this revision last October.”

    As reported last year by Julian Baron at The National News Desk, “The FBI quietly adjusted its annual crime data to show an increase in violent crime from 2021 to 2022. The agency previously claimed violent crime decreased from 2021 to 2022, touting ‘an estimated 1.7%’ decrease in violent crime between the two calendar years. The revised data, which was first identified by RealClearInvestigations, shows violent crime actually increased during that timeframe.”

    At the same time, Fox News was quoting John Lott, founder of the Crime Prevention Research Center, who stated, “For some reason, the media, they did pick the crime data that they think goes and makes the Democrats look as good as possible. And then even when the crime data that they’ve relied on turns out by the very source of that data to be wrong, none of them fix it.”

    There was no small irony in the fact that Patel, as the FBI chief, appears to be a crime fighter extraordinaire, as the agency just rounded up the third fugitive on the “Ten Most Wanted” list since Donald Trump took office Jan. 20. FBI agents arrested Francisco Javier Roman-Bardales on March 18.
    Patel wrote on “X,” that this is the result of having a president whose priority is being tough on criminals.

    “When you let good cops be good cops, this is what happens,” Patel wrote. “This administration is giving the new FBI and AG Bondi the resources to get the job done — and we won’t stop.”

    The FBI and @TheJusticeDept @AGPamBondi have captured our third fugitive on the Ten Most Wanted list since January 20, 2025.

    That’s not an accident.

    So much for the claim Patel is someone without experience fighting crime.

    All of this comes as veteran anti-gun Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the Senate minority leader, is under attack by his own party for not being tough enough on Trump. According to Politico, Schumer is facing an onslaught of criticism from liberal youth groups, along with jabs from his own party on Capitol Hill. Politico said a letter to Schumer from the Sunrise Movement, College Democrats of America, United We Dream Action and Voters of Tomorrow demanded that he “Obstruct the MAGA agenda with every tool you have.”

    The party, which traditionally conducts its in-fighting behind closed doors or at least away from public view, appears in complete disarray these days. They lost the White House and Congress, and their gun control agenda is on the ropes with the exception of states including Washington, Oregon, California, Massachusetts and a handful of other “blue” strongholds. In those states, it appears Democrats in state legislatures are trying to push as much restrictive gun control as possible, perhaps to balance their losses elsewhere.

    A major sign of just how bad things are going for Democrats is the posting of an apparent draft of an “interim final rule (IFR)” by the Justice Department which has Attorney General Pam Bondi taking the reigns of power away from ATF for determining restoration of rights cases. The notice says Bondi is “withdrawing effectively moribund regulations regarding how ATF will adjudicate applications for relief from the disabilities imposed by certain firearms laws and withdrawing a related delegation.”

    For more than 30 years, ATF has not conducted “relief from disabilities” investigations. As explained in Bondi’s memo, “Pursuant to this statutory authority, and consistent with historical practice, the Attorney General delegated authority to adjudicate requests for relief from disabilities on the use of firearms as imposed by Federal law to ATF…In the early 1990s, Congress became concerned about the number of resources that ATF was using to adjudicate requests to relieve individual Americans from disabilities on their ownership of firearms…

    “To allow ATF to return to its core function of investigating violations of federal firearms laws, see id. (“The Committee expects ATF to redeploy the positions and funding presently supporting firearms disability relief to the Armed Career Criminal program.”), Congress provided in 1992 that ‘none of the funds appropriated herein shall be available to investigate or act upon applications for relief from Federal firearms disabilities under 18 U.S.C. 925(c).’

    “Since then, ATF has been unable to effectuate its regulatory authority to act on individual applications due to an identical appropriations rider enacted annually…”
    Translation: Congress pulled the pin on relief investigations by not allowing ATF to use any of its funding for that purpose. By changing this, Bondi appears to be in the process of derailing a long-standing gun control mechanism.

    The long and short of this is that the new administration learned from its first time at bat eight years ago. Nothing is going to happen overnight, but Bondi’s announcement does signal a significant departure from the status quo in effect for the past three decades.

    For anti-gun Democrats on Capitol Hill, it could amount to a strong dose of karma. They have spent years eroding Second Amendment rights any way possible, and now it appears an effort may be slowly beginning to regain lost ground, and the administration hasn’t even been in office for 100 days.

    Have you firebombed a Tesla lately? Me neither, but apparently, Molotov cocktails for Tesla dealerships represent the latest policy instrument of the self-proclaimed “Voice of Tolerance.”

    While celebrating Donald Trump’s victory, you might not have noticed the spurned and defeated leftists busily evolving tactics to defeat Donald Trump’s mission of gutting the deep state, realigning international politics, and reinvigorating America in ways best described as “Reaganism on steroids.”

    No, I don’t mean Democrat congressional representatives so utterly self-absorbed they haven’t a clue what to do when the slogans no longer work.

    I too, enjoyed watching Congressional Democrats sitting on their hands or displaying little signs with those self-same failed slogans during Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress … even as Trump surprised a cancer-afflicted child with the dream of his life and earned tearful thanks from the parents and siblings of women murdered by Tren de Aragua thugs.

    Next, the theatrics of a cane-waving Congressman Al Green getting escorted from the address and later censured by Congress – with a couple of dozen fellow leftists locking arms on the chamber floor to disrupt the preceding – were a thing to behold.

    And then there was the schadenfreude (that word is for you, Mike) of watching a bizarre TikTok video of many female Democrat politicians doing some sort of awkward fight/dance. (I’m still not sure why.) Pundits called it “cringe-worthy,” which sounds about right.

    What you are enjoying, however, is a diversion. The self-immolation of the Democrat Party afflicts only part of the left’s self-described “inside-outside strategy (IOS),” which works for “the day when the people regain independence through control over food, water, power, art and work.”

    But fear not. When human instinct makes that utopia unworkable – as it inevitably will – “the people” in charge will be right there to enforce it with the iron fist of government. All for your “independence,” of course. (Few things, after all, are more authoritarian than utopia.)

    Deus Ex Machina?

    The unfolding Democrat Party tragicomedy highlights the left’s useful idiots. When you ask whether Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsome or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could actually be that stupid, the answer is yes.

    Entertaining though they may be, however, Democrat antics aren’t what you need to watch. The second prong of the IOS strategy is litigation using Obama-appointed judges happy to flout the Constitution to further the desired social model. In the 90s, they called it “living document” theory: the fraud making it possible to reinterpret the Constitution as leftists see fit. More recently, they don’t even bother with that fig leaf, instead just saying “No!” to governmental reform and deportation of illegal alien criminals.

    In nine years of fighting leftist “lawfare,” however, Trump has learned to adapt: Attorney General Pam Bondi has fielded an army of lawyers. The result is a mixed bag of court decisions, although even SCOTUS recently dealt Trump a 5-4 blow in his attempt to call back billions of misspent “foreign aid” via USAID – a decision about which Justice Samuel Alito, writing for the minority, said he is “stunned.”

    The third prong of the inside game is internal sabotage, either from the federal bureaucracy or from Democrat-controlled cities and states. Highly effective in Trump’s first term, leaks from within (e.g. the leaked phone call with Ukraine) even fueled a bogus impeachment.

    More recently, Department of Homeland Security leaks enabled activists with bullhorns to warn criminal illegal aliens targeted by ICE for deportation, potentially facilitating ambushes on law enforcement officers. In response, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem found the leakers and plans felony prosecution. Her plan forlie-detector tests for DHS personnel may further suppress this particular attack on the American people.

    Elsewhere, mayors of “sanctuary cities” recently engaged in a screaming match while testifying to congressional Republicans over their attempts to defy ICE deportation of criminal illegal aliens. Kathy Hochul, governor of the disaster previously called The Great State of New York (from which I am a refugee), says she will be “leading the resistance” to “fight back hard” against Trump policies.
    Beware The ‘Outside’ Game

    As demonstrated by the flaming national temper tantrum against Elon Musk, the world’s richest man who doesn’t really need to take flak for creating environmentally-minded cars, defending free speech (and losing money) on “X”, exposing the massive federal kleptocracy, and rescuing NASA astronauts abandoned in space by Joe Biden, the left is quite willing to (literally) turn up the heat.

    Beyond 11 Tesla dealerships attacked in what Bondi has dubbed “domestic terrorism,” we also have 14 – yes, 14 – conservative talk hosts and influencers getting“SWATted.” You know about “SWATting,” don’t you? That’s when some miscreant calls 9-1-1 to report a shooting at your house, preferably with hostages, preferably in the early morning hours, for the purpose of having police break down your door and kill you. Even better for leftists would be if you killed one of them (you right-wing murderer, you).

    “Black block”-clad Antifa anarchists haven’t gone away, they’ve just switched issues. More than a year after the October 7 attacks, the “From the River to the Sea” masked Hamas advocates are still wreaking havoc at Columbia University and Trump Tower, spreading anti-Semitism on campuses and elsewhere, and dispelling any notion that we are dealing with “liberals.” Jewish Columbia students describe the attacks as “terrifying.”

    For years, I’ve preached that leftists are deliberately creating chaos in order to replace American society with a socialist model. Mike Shelby of Forward Observer and Gray Zone Research, notes that the scheme even has a name: the “Cloward-Piven” strategy, which Wiki describes as “a political strategy outlined in 1966 by American sociologists and political activists Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven … [which aims to] … facilitate a ‘political crisis’ by overloading the welfare system via an increase in welfare claims, forcing the creation of a system of guaranteed minimum income and ‘redistributing income through the federal government.’”

    Cloward-Piven (Pissant-Coward?) is an outgrowth of Saul Alinsky’s infamous quote: “The first step in community organization is community disorganization.” Unsurprisingly, Cloward and Piven hailed from Columbia University, refuge of European Marxists from the Frankfort School fleeing Hitler in 1933, bringing with them the “critical theory” which eventually metastasized into “critical race theory” – the weapon with which neo-Marxists divide American society.
    What The Left Really Wants

    As Mike Shelby correctly notes, what you should really be watching is the faux constitutional crisis being manufactured by lawfare, most recently against Trump’s deportation of criminal illegal aliens. (As one pundit put it, we now have leftists advocating predatory men in women’s locker rooms, gender mutilation of children, censorship of speech, and Tren de Aragua murderers.)

    If you are tempted to chalk all that up to “Trump derangement syndrome,” don’t. We are getting exactly what Shelby predicted: Civil disorder rationalized by “Justice for Palestine,” Trump’s ostensible “fascism” and, most significantly, by the “constitutional crisis” precipitated by a radical district court judge trying to dictate U.S. policy.

    Fox News’ “lawsuit tracker” so far finds more than 120 lawsuits filed against various Trump executive orders and policies. It isn’t a coincidence. As one who has organized seven public policy lawsuits (winning six of the seven, I might add), I know they aren’t cheap, even when sympathetic lawyers are willing to work pro bono. So, the question becomes, who is funding them and why? I can assure it’s not just to harass Donald Trump.

    What you need to understand is that none of these things have anything to do with their ostensible issues. As I teach in seminars, “The problem is what you want to solve. The issue is how you frame the debate to solve the problem. Frame the issue to maximize your core constituency of support.”

    The “problem” as neo-Marxists see it, is replacing free market capitalism with socialism. The “issues” they are willing to use are all of the things listed above. What you need to understand is that none of this is about Palestine, or transgender rights, or even mass migration.

    Everything you see is about tearing down western society and replacing it with Marxism.

    End Game?

    Shelby wrote a series called “How civil wars start” in which he makes an interesting observation: namely, that civil war generally doesn’t result from conflicts between the “haves” and the have-nots,” but instead from “intra-elite conflict.”

    What we are seeing is intra-elite conflict over the left’s systematically-constructed network of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other mechanisms for hijacking our government using a socialist model … all funded by you, the taxpayer.

    Says Shelby: “…this is not simple political warfare. This is an intra-elite conflict over control of state resources and cultural institutions, and it’s important because intra-elite conflict historically leads to civil war and state breakdown”, citing as examples the French Revolution, the English Civil War, and the fragmentation of the late Roman Republic and Weimar Germany.

    Michael Anton, a national security staffer in Trump’s first administration who has also joined Trump’s second, wrote a book entitled The Stakes: America at the Point of No Return, which Shelby relates by saying: “Anton describes how left wing elites ‘augment, entrench, and perpetuate [their] privilege and power.’ Anton proposes the destruction of the existing elite, the creation of a ‘new elite,’ and ‘the reclamation of cultural power.”

    Can you say “DOGE?” Can you say “USAID?” Can you say “DOE?” To quote Mr. Rogers, “Sure you can.”

    Whether inspired by Anton, the Heritage Foundation’s “Agenda 2025,” or elsewhere, dislodging entrenched leftist elites is precisely what Donald Trump is doing … in a hurry.

    And those entrenched leftist elites don’t like it very much.

    A recent Wall Street Journal article supports Shelby’s model of intra-elite conflict:

    “Columbia University is fighting two wars at once. One rages publicly against President Trump, whose administration in recent days ordered the arrest of a student protester and canceled federal funds to the Ivy League school over allegations of antisemitism.
    “The second conflict simmers behind the scenes: a faculty civil war that pits medical doctors and engineers against political scientists and humanities scholars over how to handle pro-Palestinian demonstrations that have disrupted campus life.”

    The good news is that D.E.I. doesn’t just hamstring mainstream Americans, it also ensures that idiots like Kamala Harris top the Democrat ticket. If the left finds an actual leader, we might have a problem.

    The question, of course, becomes how much chaos neo-Marxists can orchestrate in their unfolding revolt. Hang on tight, kiddies. The next four years will be quite a ride.

    In a fiery rebuttal to recent allegations published by far-left The Atlantic, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth firmly denied claims that he and other top Trump administration officials inadvertently shared classified military strategies in a group chat.

    The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that Jeffrey Goldberg, the rabidly anti-Trump editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, has cooked up a wild tale about being “accidentally” added to a secure Signal group chat with top Trump officials.

    According to Goldberg’s latest hit piece, this chat allegedly contained sensitive details about military strikes against the Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.

    Goldberg claims that heavyweights like National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President J.D. Vance were part of a so-called “Houthi PC small group,” plotting a long-overdue reckoning for the Houthis.

    Let’s be real—Goldberg’s track record is a laundry list of anti-Trump hoaxes, from the debunked “suckers and losers” fabrication to his relentless Russia collusion fantasies. Now, he’s peddling this tale of stumbling into a supposed digital war room, claiming it all started with a Signal connection request from Mike Waltz on March 11.

    Goldberg alleges Waltz invited him to the chat on March 13, just days before American bombs began pounding Houthi targets.

    Our troops and sailors were getting shot at as targets. Our ships couldn’t sail through. And when they did shoot back, it was purely defensively or at shacks in Yemen.

    President Trump said, “No more. We will reestablish deterrence, open freedom of navigation, and ultimately decimate the Houthis,” which is exactly what we’re doing as we speak from the beginning, overwhelmingly.

    President Trump on Monday responded to a report where the Atlantic’s Editor-in-Chief claimed he was included on a Signal group where cabinet officials discussed military strikes on Houthi Muslims in Yemen.

    The President delivered remarks Monday with Republican Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, and Hyundai Motor Group executives to announce a “major economic development project for Louisiana.”

    The South Korean auto manufacturer announced a $5.8 billion investment in American manufacturing to build its first-ever steel mill in the U.S., which President Trump said will produce “more than 2.7 million metric tons of steel per year” and create more than 1,400 steel jobs.

    “In the next couple of years,” the President said, Hyundai will be investing at least $21 billion in U.S. manufacturing and “massively increasing its auto manufacturing in Georgia.”

    “This investment is a very clear demonstration that tariffs very strongly work,” President Trump added. “The tariffs are bringing them in at levels that have not been witnessed.”

    During an exchange with a reporter in the Roosevelt Room of the White House after the announcement, the President was asked if he had a response to the Atlantic’s reporting on military operations that were allegedly revealed to a reporter.
