This could be the latest in a string of fires intentionally targeting the electric vehicle company owned by the billionaire Trump adviser.

More than a half-dozen Tesla charging stations were torched near Boston on Monday, police said, in what appears to be the latest attack on the company owned by Elon Musk, the billionaire adviser to President Donald Trump.
Police officers and firefighters rushed to The Point Shopping Center, at 830 Constitution Ave. in Littleton, Massachusetts, at about 1:10 a.m. and found Tesla charging stations “engulfed in flames and heavy, dark smoke,” according to a police statement.
The first responders had Littleton Electric Light & Water Department shut down power as a “total of seven charging stations sustained heavy fire-related damage,” police said.
There were no injuries.
Fire investigators believe that the “fire appears to have been intentionally set,” police said.
“It’s scary that somebody would come and torch these because it’s hazardous to society, hazardous to the air and dangerous,” Tesla driver Zaheer Kalvert, who regularly uses these chargers in Littleton, told NBC Boston. “It’s really unfortunate.”

A suspect in northern Colorado was arrested last week for allegedly trying to burn down a Tesla dealership in Loveland, police said.
And a Tesla Cybertruck was vandalized in the San Francisco suburb of Redwood City in late January.

Earlier that month, Musk — a supporter of Germany’s far right movement — made his now infamous, straight arm salute at a Trump inauguration event.

North Carolina – Few gun laws generate as much misinformation as permitless or “constitutional” carry of concealed firearms.
Last year, 2024, South Carolina became the 29th permitless carry state, meaning the law now encompasses 46.8% of Americans and 67.7% of the U.S.
North Carolina’s General Assembly is considering two proposals to remove the need for “permission slips” to carry concealed handguns. They are House Bill 5, “NC Constitutional Carry Act,” sponsored by Representatives Keith Kidwell, Jay Adams, Ben Moss, and Brian Echevarria; and Senate Bill 50, “Freedom to Carry NC,” by Senators Danny Britt, Warren Daniel, and Eddie Settle.
Proposals for permitless carry aren’t new. I helped draft what we called “Vermont carry” back in 1997. In 2017, HB 746 passed the NC House but died in the Senate. Last year, HB 189 cleared two House NC committees before being yanked from the calendar.
Constitutional Carry: Deterring Violent Crime
Each time we expand concealed carry, doomsayers prophesy “The Apocalypse.” When we passed concealed handgun permits, op-eds forecast shootouts at traffic lights … which never happened. When we included restaurants, they said drunks would shoot each other in bars … which never happened. When we legalized firearms in locked motor vehicles on educational property, they predicted gunfights at football games … which (you guessed it) never happened.
Like permitted carry, permitless carry is intended not only for personal protection but to deter violent crime. Despite grim prognostications for states adopting it, a 2024 report by Carlisle Moody and John R. Lott concluded;
…“[Right to carry] states have experienced significantly lower murder rates than those states that did not adopt RTC laws …Constitutional carry states, allowing the concealed carrying of handguns with no permit requirements, have experienced even larger declines in murder rates.”
As Lott describes in More Guns, Less Crime: Understanding Crime and Gun Control Laws,#ad “shall-issue” concealed handgun permit laws deter violent criminals who, predictably, avoid armed victims. States with higher rates of concealed carry experience fewer murders, rapes, and aggravated assaults.
Unfortunately, the permitting process prevents some law-abiding (and only law-abiding) people from carrying firearms, denying them basic civil rights and reducing deterrence. During COVID, Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker tried to stop issuing permits altogether. GRNC has won four suits against urban sheriffs’ obstructionism, including defeating Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden’s many schemes for obstruction (an exercise akin to “Whack-A-Mole).”
The accompanying survey graphic depicts firearm carry rates for General Election voters. Note that permitless carry states have higher total carry rates (28.1%) than both right-to-carry permit states (24.4%) and “may-issue” (discretionary) permit states (15.8%). Again, higher rates of carry create stronger deterrence of crime.

What North Carolina’s HB 5 & SB 50 Do
Ironically, HB 5 and SB 50 get blasted not only by gun ban advocates but also by some gun rights supporters who complain they aren’t “pure” constitutional carry or, according to one misinformed YouTube guru, are “dangerous” by “disarming” gun carriers. (They do not.)
HB 5 and SB 50 enable concealed handgun carry without permits, but only for people who would otherwise qualify for a permit, and only under the same restrictions applied to permitted carry.
Under the bills, people with recent DUIs, disqualifying crimes, active substance addiction, or anything else making them ineligible for concealed handgun permits cannot legally carry concealed handguns without permits. Permitless concealed carriers must abide by the same restrictions as permit-holders (e.g., zero blood alcohol, no carry in government buildings or public demonstrations, limited carry on educational property). The present concealed handgun permit system will remain intact for gun purchases and out-of-state reciprocity.
Creating confusion, the legislation contains language that, to some, appears to impose new restrictions on gun owners but actually regulates only permitless concealed carry, applying to permitless carriers the same restrictions already applicable to permitted carry.
“But the bills aren’t ‘pure’ constitutional carry.” With 29 states and 29 different versions of permitless carry, “pure” constitutional carry probably doesn’t exist. With additional freedoms but no new restrictions, they represent progress in the incremental struggle to regain rights usurped over generations.
“But permitless carry doesn’t require training.” Versions of the law have been enacted in 29 states without significant reported problems.
“But this will let criminals carry guns!” Felons already carry guns. According to the Media Research Center, NC suffers four George Soros-backed prosecutors who refuse to prosecute felons in possession of firearms. Carolina Journal’s David Larson recently wrote that between 2014 and 2018, 68% of felons in possession in Mecklenburg County and 45% in Wake County were not prosecuted. In Mecklenburg, felons had up to 40 dismissals. WRAL reported that Durham’s District Attorney, Satana Deberry, makes policy of dismissing felon-in-possession charges. Translated, criminals already carry guns but you can’t without a permit that you might not be able to get.
Despite flaws, HB 5 and SB 50 offer progress in personal protection and crime deterrence. With 29 “red” states having passed permitless carry, our Republican-controlled legislature has fallen behind. Yes, Governor Josh Stein will veto it again, and yes, NC House Republicans are one seat shy of the supermajority to override said veto.
But Republicans overrode a veto while one seat shy in repealing Jim Crow-era pistol purchase permits, and they can do it again for permitless carry.

Things Not Looking Good for Mexico in Supreme Court Case

It always looked to me like Mexico’s lawsuit against the gun industry was, at best, nothing more than a case of politicians trying to shift the blame for their own failures. In this case, Mexico–a nation that looks more and more like a failed state each and every day–sought to blame gun companies for cartel violence they’ve done pretty much nothing to address.

The problem for them was the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which prevents lawsuits against gun companies except when they actually break the law or in cases of liability.
Sure, they keep coming, especially after the Sandy Hook lawsuit against Remington settled a few years back, but the PLCAA requires a bit more than Mexico seemed to be providing.
Then again, this is the same Supreme Court that united on Rahimi. Could this be another case where justices crossed the line? Could the PLCAA’s days be numbered?
Arguments were made earlier today, and while I’m terrible at taking notes during something like an audio recording of a judicial proceedings, I did follow along with enough to get the gist of things.
I think the PLCAA will be just fine.
First, let’s touch on the hilarity that took place.
Did you know that some serial numbers can just be erased? That gun manufacturers actually build guns with serial numbers than can just be wiped out?
It seems at least one justice seems to believe they do. (I’m not sure if it was Sotomayor or Kagan, and neither is Moros)
As for the second sentence, a lot of the discussion revolved around “proximate cause” which is basically an event that is sufficiently to an injury that it can be seen as the cause of that particular injury. In this case, did Smith & Wesson’s selling of guns amount to the proximate cause of the cartel’s actions in Mexico. This would require Smith & Wesson to foresee the potential ramification of their actions. In other words, they would have had to know that what they were doing could well result in the cartels getting guns as the result of their actions.
In this case, considering that Smith & Wesson doesn’t actually sell to individuals or even gun stores all that much and there are no examples provided of them selling directly to anyone they had any reason to suspect was providing them to the cartels, which creates a problem.
Justice Amy Coney Barret notes that they don’t provide specific dealers.
However, this is probably the most telling bit there:
That’s right, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson actually sat there and spoke in defense of the PLCAA.
While it’s clear that most of the anti-gun justices are, in fact, anti-gun, there didn’t seem to be a whole lot of support there for Mexico and their efforts to penalize American gun manufacturers for things that were quite frankly beyond their control.

The justices had to be instructed on how the gun industry works, namely that the manufacturers tend to sell to distributors, who then sell to licensed dealers. There are multiple layers between a company like Smith & Wesson and the eventual buyer of the firearm, so much so that there’s little chance they could prevent a straw purchase even if they had the most profound desire to do everything humanly possible to do so.
While it’ll be a while before we get a final decision on this one, my hope is that Mexico isn’t basing its next budget on a financial windfall from the gun industry.
If so, their deficit will end up looking worse than ours does.

BlackRock Inc. has secured control over key ports near the Panama Canal, stripping away Chinese-linked influence over one of the world’s most crucial shipping routes.
The $23 billion deal, which includes $5 billion in debt, will effectively place the strategic ports under American control—a move long advocated by President Donald Trump and national security hawks concerned about China’s grip on global infrastructure.
The transaction, announced Tuesday, involves Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings selling its controlling stake in Hutchison Port Holdings and Hutchison Port Group Holdings to a U.S.-led consortium spearheaded by BlackRock, AP reported.
This historic acquisition grants control over 43 ports in 23 countries, including major sites in Mexico, the Netherlands, Egypt, Australia, Pakistan, and Panama’s critical ports of Balboa and Cristobal—the two primary gateways to the Panama Canal.

BlackRock announced the $22.8 billion deal with CK Hutchison’s subsidiary Hutchison Port Holdings, which will see the firm acquire the Panama ports of Cristobal and Balboa, which are located at the Atlantic and Pacific ends of the canal, respectively. It will also acquire Hutchison’s controlling interest in 43 ports in 23 other countries.
The world’s largest asset manager will partner with Terminal Investment Limited (TiL) to operate the ports in concert with the BlackRock subsidiary Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).
“This agreement is a powerful illustration of BlackRock and GIP’s combined platform and our ability to deliver differentiated investments for clients,” BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said. “These world-class ports facilitate global growth. Through our deep connectivity to organizations like Hutchison and MSC/TIL and governments around the world, we are increasingly the first call for partners seeking patient, long-term capital. We are thrilled our clients can participate in this investment.”

Frank Sixt, CK Hutchison co-managing director, said the transaction was the “result of a rapid, discrete but competitive process in which numerous bids and expressions of interest were received” and added that the deal should deliver cash proceeds in excess of $19 billion to the group.
“I would like to stress that the transaction is purely commercial in nature and wholly unrelated to recent political news reports concerning the Panama Ports,” Sixt added.

Donald Trump has warned that the United States could seize back the Panama Canal unless the country agrees to lower its costs and counter Chinese influence.
In a post on Truth Social, the incoming president urged the Panamanian government to start taking care of the canal or face the consequences.
He wrote:
The United States has a vested interest in the secure, efficient, and reliable operation of the Panama Canal, and that was always understood. We would and will NEVER let it fall into the wrong hands! It was not given for the benefit of others, but merely as a token of cooperation with us and Panama.
If the principles, both moral and legal, of this magnanimous gesture of giving are not followed, then we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to us, in full, and without question. To the Officials of Panama, please be guided accordingly!
Trump later followed up with another post explaining its role preserving America’s economic and national security:

Ed Martin moves crooked Biden prosecutors to misdemeanor court.
The Justice Department reportedly rebuffed Acting DC US Attorney Ed Martin’s plan to impanel a grand jury to probe Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer’s threat to conservative Supreme Court justices.
Last month, Ed Martin launched an investigation into threats against DOGE workers and revealed Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer as the target.
Ed Martin previously announced his office would be charging and arresting individuals who threatened Elon Musk’s DOGE team.
“Our initial review of the evidence presented to us indicates that certain individuals and/or groups have committed acts that appear to violate the law in targeting DOGE employees,” Ed Martin previously said.
“We are in contact with the FBI and other law-enforcement partners to proceed rapidly. We also have our prosecutors preparing,” Ed Martin added.
Late last month Ed Martin said his investigation was launched after he spoke to a DOGE worker about the ongoing threats.
“Late last night I took a call from a senior DOGE staffer. We spoke about some pressing tech issues and then he told me about threats against DOGE workers. It is despicable that these men and women are being threatened,” Ed Martin said in an email reviewed by Reuters.
Ed Martin named the investigation “Operation Whirlwind” after Schumer’s threats to conservative Supreme Court justices.

On Tuesday, The New York Times reported that the Justice Department rebuffed Ed Martin’s plan to a seek grand jury to investigate Chuck Schumer.
The five-year limit to prosecute Schumer for his threatening remarks expires TODAY.
“Ed Martin, the interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, has been quietly pushing to present evidence against Senator Charles Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, to a federal grand jury over comments he made about Supreme Court justices in 2020, according to people with knowledge of the situation,” The New York Times reported.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is a different kind of European leader: she is unabashedly right-winger, against mass migration, and enjoys good popularity numbers.
She manages to be – at the same time – in the EU among the Globalist warmongers and within the small circle of leaders with access to US President Donald J. Trump, and she furthermore enjoys his respect and admiration.
Meloni visibly angry at Paris’ ‘anti-Trump’ summit.
After Volodymyr Zelensky lit himself on fire in the oval office, the Euro-Globalists rapidly gathered in Paris. Meloni was there, but was pictured with a face that said ‘I’d rather be somewhere else’. She also called the meeting “anti-Trump”.
After that, another summit was held in London, again with heated rhetoric, wild plans, and no action.
Now, Meloni has decided to go against the insane script laid out by the two unpopular Liberal-Globalist nutcases: UK’s Keir Starmer and France’s Emmanuel Macron.
Meloni voiced her very strong reservations about the frankly suicidal proposal to send European troops to Ukraine.

Meloni emphasized that all parties share the same objective: ensuring a lasting and secure peace for Ukraine. ‘After all, everyone has the same goal, to bring just peace to Ukraine, sustainable and lasting peace, I’d say final peace. Thus, the key issue here is how to build the peace that would include security guarantees for Ukraine’, she explained.”
Meloni says the Oval Office discussion should not have been held publicly.
The Italian PM addressed the public tensions between Trump and Zelensky.
“’This is not the kind of debate that is usually held in front of the cameras’, Meloni remarked, highlighting the unusual nature of the discussions.”
Meloni with Trump: she knows which way the wind blows.
She told UK’s Starmer that it’s very important to avoid the risk of a divided West.
“Emphasizing the need for cooperation, Meloni stated, ‘We are all very committed about a goal that we all want to achieve, which is a just and lasting peace in Ukraine’. She highlighted the role of the UK and Italy in ‘bridge-building’ and proposed a meeting between US and European leaders.”

MTA has yet to remove antisemitic teaching materials from its resource list, critics say
The Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) is under fire for not removing all alleged antisemitic materials from an educators’ resource list on the Israel-Hamas war.
According to a report by the Boston Herald, Jewish advocacy groups, the Anti-Defamation League, teachers, and state officials are blasting the MTA for not fully following through on its agreement to remove links to certain materials that critics say are biased and offensive.

The King wanted to go fishing, and he asked the Royal weather forecaster the forecast for the next few hours.
The palace meteorologist assured him there was no chance of rain. So the King and Queen went fishing.
On the way he met a man with a fishing pole riding on a donkey, and he asked the man if the fish were biting. The fisherman said “Your Majesty, you should return to the palace. In just a short time I expect a torrential rain storm.” The King replied, “ I hold the palace meteorologist in high regard. He is an educated and experienced professional. Besides I pay him very high wages. He gave me a very different forecast. I trust him.”
So the King carried on his way. However in a short time a torrential rain fell from the sky. The King and Queen were totally soaked. Furious the King returned to the palace and gave the order to fire the Royal forecaster.
He summoned the fisherman and offered him the prestigious position of Royal forecaster. The fisherman said “Your Majesty, I do not know anything about forecasting. I obtain my information from my donkey. If I see my donkey’s ears droop, it means with certainty it will rain……. so the King hired the donkey….And thus began the practice of hiring DUMB ASSES to work in influential positions of government.
