Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  6. I felt so much pride in Canada when I watched patriots lining the highways, the overpasses, parking lots and streets to cheer the trucker convoys. It was an emotional time watching Canadians giving food, money, their support and oh so proudly.

    We have it in us to stand up for what is right, we have been beaten down physically and emotionally by the pathetic press who lied continuously, politicians and especially the vile so-called leaders — Justine, Twitchy, Singh and Carnage

    And now to see this fringe minority government appealing the overturning of the Emergency Act is so appalling, it sickens many to think this is OUR Canada.

    We must throw out every last Liberal and NDP who backed the Emergency Act (they all voted in favour) and hopefully ask that they should be charged for what THEY did to Canadian citizens. They are a disgraceful, dangerous, lot of globalists, who have yet to learn you cannot serve two masters.

    Oh Canada our home and native land, true patriot love they will never understand. They deserve no party status.

    “There will be bloodshed,” that is the quote from one Democrat pastor who isn’t happy with President Trump and Elon Musk. He and other Democrats are now openly expressing their deranged plans to stop the Make America Great Again Movement.

    And Sen. John Fetterman seems to be one of the sole voices of reason inside the Democrat Party. Should we believe him? Or is he just trying to gain favor during a Trump Presidency?

      Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) had an absolutely insane meltdown last week while protesting in front of the Treasury Department over Elon Musk and President Trump.

      The Gateway Pundit previously reported Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rep. Monica McIver (D-NJ) also threw tantrums that day over Musk and the Trump Administration at the rally.

      McIver even seemingly threatened violence against Musk.

      “We will not take this!” she yelled. “We will fight back! And godd**n it shut down the Senate! We are at war!”

      When it was Crockett’s turn to speak, she had perhaps an even bigger tantrum.

      “We know who we work for, we know we work for the American people, she began. “And what we’re not gonna do is stand around while they pull all this bulls**t they trying to pull right now!”

      “We are not going to sit around while you go ahead and desecrate our Constitution,” she screamed. “Or you look at the laws that have been passed into law and say ‘never mind.’

      Then Crockett issued what some would constitute as a threat against the Trump Administration and Elon Musk.

      “We gonna be in yo face!,” she yelled. “We gonna be on yo a**es!”

      ‘We are going to make sure you understand what democracy looks like!” she continued. “This ain’t it!”

      Crockett went to grossly disrespect Trump by refusing to refer to him by the title he earned, calling him “Mr.” instead of “President.”

      “So let me tell you something Mr. Trump, you gonna learn a few lesson from us,” she taunted. “You and your little friend off of Twitter, y’all are about to find out!”

      The loony congresswoman went on to falsely accuse Trump of being in cahoots with Putin and turning America into Russia.

      “We all know he likes to pal around with Putin, right?” Crockett stated. “He’s trying to turn us into Russia, but I have news for you: we the people will not go!”

  10. Here We Go: Trump Administration Working on Deputizing Thousands of IRS Agents to Help ICE Round Up Illegal Aliens Inside America

    President Trump was not kidding when he suggested sending thousands of IRS agents to go after illegal aliens rather than watching them harass middle-class taxpayers.

    Jim Hoft reported last month that Trump floated the idea of thousands of IRS agents to the southern border during a rally at the Circa Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

    “On day one, I automatically halted the hiring of any new IRS agents,” the president told his supporters. “You know they hired, or tried to hire, 88,000 new workers to go after you.”

    “And we’re in the process of developing a plan to either terminate all of them or maybe we’ll move them to the border,” he added.

    Now the Trump Administration is putting one into action, but focused on the interior instead to help out ICE. Fox News’ Bill Melugin obtained a February 7 letter DHS Secretary Kristi Noem sent to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, which seeks to deputizing and deploying IRS agents to assist ICE in the U.S. interior to help round up illegals.

    In the letter, Noem argues that IRS agents are absolutely necessary to secure the detainment and deportation of illegal aliens.

    “It is DHS’s understanding that the Department of the Treasury has qualified law enforcement personnel available to assist with immigration enforcement, especially in light of recent increases to the Internal Revenue Service’s work force and budget,” her letter reads in part. “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a DHS component, has the following needs…”

    “This letter requests that you make qualified officials from the Department of the Treasury available to work with ICE and that you consent to those officials being deputized to perform immigration functions pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1103(a)(6),” the letter adds.

    There are 2,290 special agents at the IRS’ criminal-investigation division, according to Newsmax, which marks a 10% increase since 2022. But Noem’s request may not be limited to just this group.

    The Wall Street Journal reports that Noem’s request is part of a broader effort by the Republican administration to deputize law-enforcement officials across multiple federal agencies. These include the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

    Why has Hamas announced a delay five days before it was due to release the next group of hostages?

    In one of its official statements, released on Telegram, the group calls its announcement “a warning” to Israel and says that it’s giving mediators “ample time to pressure the occupation [Israel] into fulfilling its obligations”. It says the “door remains open” for the next scheduled releases to go ahead.

    The group appears to be giving time for the impasse to be resolved. The question is: what’s the impasse? Is Hamas genuinely complaining that Israel has not lived up to its commitments or is this about something bigger?

    It’s worth noting that other Palestinian officials have made similar complaints, for example about Israel’s reluctance to allow caravans into Gaza to house the vast numbers of Palestinians whose homes have been destroyed.

    But negotiations on phase two of the ceasefire have still not begun. In the wake of President Trump’s insistence that all Palestinians must leave and that the US intends to take over and redevelop the Gaza Strip, Hamas may be wondering what there is to negotiate about.

    It’s too early to say whether this carefully negotiated, staged process is about to collapse – as many have predicted it will – but after a mostly positive start, it’s under increasing strain.

  13. Two Cases That Pam Bondi Should Revisit

    On Friday, President Donald Trump issued an executive order demanding Attorney General Pam Bondi review any litigation that might have violated an American’s Second Amendment rights. Many cases could be reviewed, but a few stand out as violating not only someone’s right to bear arms but also free speech and entrapment.
    The first case that the Department of Justice might review is the AutoKeyCard case. The case involves Kristopher Justin Irvin, who sold a novelty metal card with an image of a lightning link to inspire conversations about gun laws. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) saw the card and decided it was a machinegun conversion device (MCD). The ATF would arrest Mr. Irvin and charge him with violating the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA).

    After Mr. Irvin was arrested, Matthew Hoover started raising money for his defense. Mr. Hoover ran the successful YouTube channel CRS Firearms. During Irvin’s time in business, he contracted Hoover to advertise the item on his YouTube channel. At no time was Mr. Hoover in business with Irvin, but the ATF didn’t appreciate actions to help Irvin defend himself in court.

    The ATF would issue and execute an arrest warrant for Hoover, claiming that he and Irvin entered a conspiracy to distribute machine guns. ATF attorney Laura Coffer Taylor contended that the fundraising for Irvin’s defense was the two trying to defeat the government so the two could continue to profit from selling machine guns. Mr. Hoover was also accused of distributing machine guns even though Irvin only sponsored his channel, and Hoover in no way sold the item.

    Is the AutoKeyCard an MCD? The ATF told the court it was even though they could not get the device to function as a lightning link. When cut out along the lines, the ATF failed to get the device to fire automatically. This failure was due to the image not having the correct dimensions. The ATF materially altered the card by cutting outside the lines. That means their argument was based on the card being metal and how it was advertised. They argued that it didn’t matter that it didn’t work. They said the men thought it would, and that was intent.

    The ATF never got the card to work correctly, even after cutting it out. They did get a hammer follow, which is a malfunction that causes the hammer to follow the bolt carrier back into battery after a shot is fired. This malfunction can happen for many reasons and does not indicate automatic fire.
    The men’s lawyers were also prohibited from making a Second Amendment defense. The court limited their arguments, which adversely affected their defense. States Attorney Laura Coffer Taylor also filed an order to try to gag this reporter from reporting on documents that AmmoLand News legally received. Gun Owners of America (GOA) defended my right to freedom of the press. Ultimately, the ATF dropped their motion to gag me after a show of force in the courtroom by GOA attorneys.

    Both men were found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison for a piece of non-functional art resembling an MCD. There is an ongoing appeal. The Department of Justice (DOJ) can step in and stop the violation of the men’s Second Amendment rights and their First Amendment rights.

    The second case involves a Navy Sailor named Patrick Tate Adamiak. Mr. Adamiak served the Navy with pride and also sold firearms part kits part-time. A confidential informant (CI) working for the ATF contacted Adamiak for help brokering a deal for a demilled machine gun parts kit being sold on Gun Broker. Mr. Adamiak believed the kit was demilled correctly since it was on Gun Broker. He purchased the kit and resold it to the CI.

    The ATF determined the kit wasn’t properly demilled since it was cut with a bandsaw, not a torch. They raided Adamiak’s home and arrested him. During the search, they found power tools the sailor claimed to use to remodel his home. The ATF took a different view, arguing that the tools had to be used for making guns. The ATF also found a demilled RPG that Adamiak purchased at a flea market in California.

    The RPG did not have a fire control group and had a large circular hole cut in its side. The ATF welded the hole shut, claiming it wasn’t big enough, and installed a fire control unit. With the RPG rebuilt and rewelded, the ATF was able to get it to work. They would charge Adamiak with multiple NFA violations. Mr Adamiak was found guilty and is currently appealing the ruling to the Circuit Court.
    The two cases show that the ATF can be overzealous in its prosecution of Americans instead of concentrating on real criminals. Under Trump’s executive order, the DOJ has an opportunity to make things right.

    • Abolish the ATF is Now a Normal Political Idea

      The 119th Congress provides gun owners a unique chance to go on offense and advance pro-gun legislation. Donald Trump’s victory in November, coupled with Republicans’ retaking of the Senate and their continued control of the House, puts gun owners in a good position to get on the legislative scorecard, at least on paper.
      On Jan. 7, 2025, Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) took the initiative by introducing H.R. 221, the “Abolish the ATF Act’’, a succinct, one-page bill that aims to abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE). Burlison’s bill already has 27 co-sponsors, with Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and Andy Biggs (R-AZ).

      In a statement to The National News Desk earlier in January, Burlison declared, “The ATF is emblematic of the deep-state bureaucracy that believes it can infringe on constitutional liberties without consequence. If this agency cannot uphold its duty to serve the people within the framework of the Constitution, it has no place in our government.” Burlison previously indicated that state governments should handle firearms issues without having the Feds butt in. He accused the ATF of “co-opting or commandeering [local] law enforcement to enforce laws” which elected officials in state legislation did not pass. The congressman suggested that states should be allowed to handle matters themselves, without federal interference.

      Burlison’s bill is just the latest in congressional attempts to rein in the ATF’s power. Since the ATF’s infamous Waco siege of 1993, where nearly 80 people were killed, gun owners’ attitudes towards the ATF have hardened to the point where several elected officials have stepped up to introduce their respective ATF abolition bills. Members of Congress such Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) have introduced their respective ATF abolition bills over the last decade.
      Abolishing the ATF is good policy on paper, but it may not be the silver bullet that many pro-gun activists make it out to be.
      Luis Valdez, the Florida State Director of Gun Owners of America, offered an interesting perspective about ATF abolition in an X post published on Dec. 5, 2024:

      I would love to abolish ATF.

      But as a former cop, I know what’ll happen is all the anti-gun laws would be enforced by another agency, like the FBI.

      This was one of the flaw’s with the aforementioned bill that Sensenbrenner introduced in 2014, where it would have transferred the ATF’s functions connected to firearms and violent crime to the FBI — an agency with a very checkered history when it comes to infringing on civil liberties. In fact, the left-leaning Center for American Progress pushed for the ATF to be abolished. But there was a catch: the ATF would be merged with the FBI. This would not be a good scenario for gun rights.
      It’s anyone’s guess if Burlison’s bill is an effective way to deal with the ATF, much less be passed. The ATF should ultimately be abolished, but there needs to be certain safeguards in place that prevent another agency such as the FBI from assuming the gun control enforcement role the ATF was originally tasked with.

      From there, a pro-gun presidential administration should use the power of the purse and other forms of fiscal leverage to punish blue states that violate gun rights. The abolition of an unaccountable bureaucracy is a net positive for liberty, but such power should be thoroughly removed and not just be transferred over to another department or two.

      Over the last century, the federal government has grown at an unprecedented level, which has been accompanied with an alarming level of transgressions on individual rights that would make the Founding Fathers shudder. The good news is that the current discourse on gun rights is moving more in the direction of rolling back gun control measures as opposed to gun activists always reacting to the latest attempts to undermine the right to bear arms.
      Gun rights activists are finally going on offense and questioning the very essence of the gun control regulatory state. Hopefully, more serious measures are implemented, and other campaigns are pursued to ensure that the federal gun control apparatus is thoroughly downsized.
      The fight to restore gun rights in America is only just starting. But let’s make sure to choose the right legislative fights.

  14. 17,000 South Africans Apply for Refugee Status as Local Afrikaners Urge Trump: “Help us Here” and Elon Musk Calls for Arrest of Radical Who Sang “Kill the Boer”

    In just a few hours, 17,000 South Africans have contacted the South African Chamber of Commerce USA after President Trump signed an Executive Order granting Afrikaners refugee status. Many Afrikaners are calling for help to protect their 400-year-old community in South Africa. Elon Musk called to declare “Kill the Boer” singer Julius Malema “an international criminal.”

    The mayor of Afrikaner community Orania, Joost Strydom, said, “We are very thankful, specifically for the urgency with which this was tackled in regards to land expropriation.”

    “However, our plea can be summarized in three words: Help us here. Not necessarily with US tax dollars, but with the recognition of our legitimate pursuit: Afrikaner self-determination in an autonomous region. Recognizing us as an ethnic people leads to a conclusion: that the only solution for Afrikaners is an autonomous area. … Our highest ambition is not to be resettled or relocated, it is freedom. We ask the White House to recognize this, and extend that wish to all other nations.”
