Watching this hearing was a virtual case study in intellectual mediocrity, dishonesty, corruption & lack of integrity on the part of the many hostile Senators. I am a registered Independent, but was floored by the disparity between the Democrat Senators’ en masse display of lack of character & lack of intelligence vs the vigorous & rigorous depth of knowledge displayed by RFK Jr in the rare instances he was allowed to speak in any depth. Hostile Senators employed common courtroom techniques of trying to force RFK Jr into limited “Yes/No” responses to highly complex issues that required nuanced understanding & a solid grasp of vast amounts of information and data, as well as in-depth analysis of policy outcomes (i.e. not just intentions). The lack of integrity and the lack of intelligence on display by so many Senators points to profound problems in how our Senate Hearings are conducted, not to mention problems with the political intelligence of our electorate. It appears the Hearings are conducted largely to score “gotchya” points in video clips playing to partisan electorate, rather than the pursuit of substantive interactions & elucidations of candidate RFK Jr’s mindset, character, policy positions & animating principles.
Tragically, this is what Dem voters ACROSS the US seem to find acceptable. Had MAGA Deplorables not fought so hard for the win, these Dem voters would have discovered (as have the 80+% of Dem voters in Malibu, the Pacific Palisades, Altadena) that they have voted for the VERY politicians & policies that burned down their own homes and neighborhoods.
