Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.
So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

How much environmental damage will this little bastion of the Watermelon’s nirvana cause? Why don’t they have protocols for this, and if they do have them why don’t they follow them? Or is this an act of terrorism?

Criminal asylum seekers face easier deportation, minister says
https://www.dutchnews.nl/2025/01/criminal-asylum-seekers-face-easier-deportation-minister-says/
Immigration minister Marjolein Faber is planning to change the rules so that asylum seekers under the age of 18 who are convicted of a serious crime can be deported more quickly.
At the moment, refugees who are minors can lose their residency permits or be refused refugee status if they are convicted of a crime under adult law and sentenced to at least six months in jail.
This was a political choice and not part of any international agreements, giving Faber a free hand to make changes. The minister now wants every sentence for a serious crime to be taken into consideration when looking at whether to withdraw or refuse a residency permit.
“Then we can do all we can to remove this scum from the country,” Faber said. “I am not talking about stealing a packet of sweets, but about serious crimes.”
Faber first mentioned the move in December but has now picked it up again following the publication of details about a rape case in Helmond at the end of 2023.
Five asylum seekers, all below the age of 18 and all in the Netherlands without family, attacked and raped a woman who had been sitting alone in a park multiple times. On Monday, it emerged that four had been sentenced to up to 15 months’ youth detention for rape, and the fifth to four months for sexual assault.
The change in the rules would mean “they draw the short straw”, Faber said. “We are now working on expelling them. They are the reason we are speeding up the process. And they are a warning to others that we will not accept this.”
Faber said she did not know if the youngsters had residency permits or where they came from, but said the IND would be able to apply the new rules to them. “And I take it that they are in detention, so we know where they are and we can deport them,” she said.
The low sentences handed down to the youngsters have also caused a political outcry, particularly the decision to try them under juvenile law. They were aged 16 and 17 at the time, and the maximum sentence for rape in the Netherlands under adult law is 12 years.
Last year, 960 foreign nationals who were convicted of serious crimes were deported after serving their sentence, some 80% of the total, the Telegraaf reported earlier this week.

A massive fire broke out at a Californian power plant early Friday morning, threatening one of the largest battery energy storage facilities in the world.
The blaze began in a building containing lithium-ion batteries hours earlier, an official at the Monterey County Sheriff’s office told the BBC.
Locals report the massive toxic battery plant fire is next to the Elkhorn Slough Wildlife Reserve. The emissions may have a devastating effect on birds, fish, and other wildlife, including sea otters.

Breitbart News sat down to discuss national reciprocity with Rep. Richard Hudson on Thursday (R-NC) and he revealed a big development in his recent bill on the matter means it enjoys bipartisan support.
On January 8, 2025, Breitbart News reported Hudson’s introduction of H.R. 38, titled the Constitutional Carry Reciprocity Act.
Hudson’s Act would create a scenario in which concealed carry permits are treated like driver’s licenses, in that a permit from any one state would be valid in the other 49. Moreover, as the title of the act suggests, Hudson’s legislation means residents of states with constitutional carry would, having proved their state residency, be able to carry constitutionally throughout the country.

There are two reasons for concealed carry,:
1) The anti gun people freak out when they see a firearm, especially it it is a 1911 carried cocked and locked. Yes the hammer is back but two mechanical safeties must be turned to fire before the weapon will fire. Their freaking out can cause State Legislature to pass more laws restricting where you are allowed to defend yourself.
2) If you are carrying openly you are telling any troublemakers to shoot you first.
Two cars were set on fire, multiple more graffitied with antisemitic slogans, and a house was splashed with paint in a Sydney suburb on Friday, according to statements by the New South Wales Police Force and New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies, as law enforcement made arrests for a similar November incident.

Politics could possibly drive a sane person quite mad in a short time, the spin, the fancy dancing, the shear nonsense of it, the games, the phoney sillyness. I discovered a long time ago, the smarter the candidate thought he was, the more problems would be inevitable.
I remember advising a candidate to wear his suit to a Farmers All Candidates Meeting, he did not want to overdress and he argued. This man was touted as brilliant, had 2 PhDs, rich daddy’s boy wonder. In the end I believed he would wear his blue blazer and grey flannels. Instead this arrogant little darling, who was so much smarter and smug, bought a new pair of blue jeans and a flannel shirt.
In all the Farmer All Candidate nights I had attended, I never saw a farmer in anything other than a suit.
The next morning my phone rang for hours. The main question was “What the hell is the matter with his head.” I could only reply “Please tell me he did not have a piece of straw in his mouth”.
In the end boy wonder lost by 312 votes, he lost his own home town. That was a long time ago, there was some pressure on the ridings to have a last minute candidate pushed on them by the party.
A man can whiten his teeth, lose his neck tie, unbutton his collar, but he can’t fool everybody. If one listens closely to his speeches you can usually pick up some “I am so far above you useless eaters”.
