Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  2. Future Shock, a documentary from 1972.

    Interesting to look back to see and hear what avant garde ideas were then, and how they measure up now.

    I don’t know enough about Alvin Toffler to know his political stripes, but for all the emphasis his writings placed on technology and society, from what I see (I have not watched the whole thing yet) there is no mention of the incredible advancement of the state of the art of communist tactics at that time. Multi-wave feminism was not recognized as a Frankfurt School invention, nor the repeating thesis, counter-thesis, synthesis efforts applied everywhere to render ever-more leftist “solutions”, or the long march into our institutions. There is no mention of the on-going efforts by Soviet Marxists to adapt from failed economic class struggles of the East into cultural destruction of the West, even though our hindsight indicates this now to be fully operative and salient to current events. Effectively, East and West reversed polarity

    In fact one can argue that Toffler, the brilliant futurist, was a Frankfurt School product because of his omissions. Cognizance of so much while not recognizing something so large and ominous seems to me conspicuous, which means it is possible his intention was to provoke discussion, but only within pre-defined parameters that rendered the on-going Marxist infiltration beyond the discussion. In other words it was getting ahead with the narrative to hide the fact. Of course, I could be wrong, but a guy like him should have noticed:

    Problem: Trudeau is no longer effective in his role as a Marxist destroyer of Canada.
    Reaction: Make him pledge to resign. The country rejoices in hope.
    Solution: Install the far-more effective Marxist Mark Carney.

    Problem: Agenda 2030 15-minute cities are behind schedule in implementation.
    Reaction: Increase energy (carbon) taxes to impoverish the middle class and punish mobility.
    Solution: Concentrate populations into megacities.

    Problem: Climate change is still not being taken seriously enough by the general population.
    Reaction: Pay arsonists to create huge forest fires in North America and blame climate change.
    Solution: Impose by regulation and laws public access to rural/natural areas for the safety and preservation of natural features (as per Agenda 2030).

    Control the range of public discourse (Overton Window) by being the first to define it. Within these parameters people are fooled into thinking their free speech and autonomy remain intact.

    Problem: How do we escape into the Forbidden Zone created by digital authoritarianism?
    Reaction: Shoot the monkey.
    Solution: Ride free with the hot babe, but don’t be surprised what you find. (So it turns out that sci-fi writers made for much better futurists!)

    • Johnny, methinks Carney is an Ecofascist sorta, maybe, I don’t understand how a man of “such brilliance” could possibly carry on a dialogue with Greta. We know the global warming / climate alarms were introduced decades ago by some other global crackpots. He should be described as a Global WARNING.

      I remember when pot heads described everything as “far out”. Schwab’s idea of “Bettering the World by killing billions is over the top far out Dude.

Say the duly elected Representative breeched some speech decorum and, on those grounds, deny him entry into the House of Representatives in order to ‘uphold decorum’.     There’s been perturbation from many in the last couple of days, as news media retail a narrative that Trump – and Netanyahu’s delegation to hostage talks – are agreeing to a comprehensive “deal,” nominally to get hostages released, by Trump’s inauguration day, 20 January 2025.

    Within the last hour, as this goes to post, AP has reported that a draft agreement has been OK’ed by Hamas – previously a hold-out – and final details are being concluded. The terms are not advantageous for Israel, in the draft AP has been given. A key point is that even in full execution, they would not meet Trump’s demand. Only 33 of 50 hostages believed to still be held would be released.

    Of equal importance, the initial actions are to unfold over a period of 42 days – which means none of them must happen before Trump assumes office, even if an agreement is reached before 20 January.

    We’re seeing a predictable pattern with CA’s leftists and their “progressive,” woke agenda.
    They have carefully set the stage for this drama we’re currently witnessing. We’re seeing ecumenical systemic failure- and anarchy that inevitably follows.

    To say that the fire disaster in CA resulted from “failed leadership” is naive. It is not “bad planning” nor “poor oversight.”

    It’s an abject failure- by choice and intent!

    Anarchy, squalor, and lawlessness are consistent goals of the left because they promote the totalitarian agenda advanced by Marxists everywhere.

    That will never change!

    At the individual level:

    The naive among us, who roll their eyes when told they have to be personally responsible for their own protection, need to look at current events honestly.

  8. Congresswoman Aims to Nullify State-Level Gun Bans With New Federal Legislation

    While Second Amendment advocates are keeping their fingers crossed in hopes that the Supreme Court will soon hear a challenge to Maryland’s ban on so-called assault weapons and declare that AR-15s and other semi-automatic firearms are indeed protected by the Second Amendment, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) has another idea to wipe state-level gun bans off the books.

    On Wednesday, Tenney introduced the Second Amendment Guarantee Act (SAGA Act), which would prohibit states from enacting bans on the sale, manufacture, importation, and possession of any firearm not prohibited under federal law.

    Tenney’s bill is largely a response to New York’s SAFE Act that was enacted in 2013, though if passed it would essentially strike down every “assault weapon” ban in the country.

    Tenney has called the SAFE Act unconstitutional and wants to pass the SAGA Act to protect citizens’ Second Amendment rights.

    “The SAGA Act nullifies New York’s unconstitutional SAFE Act and prevents other states from enacting laws that violate the Second Amendment,” Tenney said in a statement. “This legislation upholds our country’s founding principle of protecting the rights of law-abiding Americans, even from liberal states with anti-gun policies.”

    Rep. Nick Langworthy, another New York Republican serving in Congress, was one of the first co-sponsors of the SAGA Act, declaring in a press release, “No matter how hard radical Democrats in Albany attempt to limit lawful gun ownership, the New York Congressional delegation will stand firm to protect law-abiding New Yorkers and manufacturers in protecting their constitutional rights.”

    Given the slim GOP majorities in both the House and Senate, Tenney’s bill is going to face the same challenges as every other Second Amendment-related bill in Congress, where votes tend to fall along party lines. Still, it’s possible that the SAGA Act could be included in future reconciliation bills, which require just a simple majority in both the House and Senate, and if the Supreme Court decides not to grant cert to the Snope case out of Maryland in the weeks ahead, Tenney’s legislation should become a top priority for congressional Republicans.

    The gun control lobby wants to make 2025 the Year of the Semi-Auto Ban. Anti-gun activists and groups like Everytown are pushing for sweeping prohibitions in states like Colorado, Virginia, New Mexico, and Rhode Island while helping to defend the bans that are already in place in ten states and the District of Columbia.

    Frankly, even if SCOTUS does decide to hear the Snope case, Tenney’s bill should still be a prime objective for the GOP on Capitol Hill this year. While I’d like to think that the same 6-3 majority that declared New York’s “may issue” carry laws unconstitutional would also declare Maryland’s “assault weapon” ban an infringement on our Second Amendment rights, there’s no guarantee that Roberts and Barrett will side with the plaintiffs challenging the prohibition.

    At the very least, Tenney’s bill would be a valuable backstop in the short term. It would protect the right to own some of the most popular firearms in the country, at least until the day that Democrats have the numbers in Congress (and the White House) to enshrine a semi-auto ban into federal law. The SAGA Act doesn’t negate the need for the Supreme Court to declare these bans unconstitutional, but it’s still a good step in the right direction… and one that will hopefully find traction with a majority of Tenney’s fellow congresscritters.

    • I doubt the bill will become law, if it does it will be another layer of protection to our Second Amendment rights.

      Two Arab officials told The Times of Israel that during the meeting, Witkoff pressed Netanyahu to agree to critical compromises needed for a deal.
