Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

Saw an old college friend last night for a beer. She has Trump and Putin derangement syndrome, climate change hysteria, and “doesn’t mind” Dear Needer. She was sad because an old boyfriend of hers just died suddenly. Her mind is clear and free of dots requiring connection.
Before that I got a call from an old acquaintance asking for a letter of recommendation for a job he wants. He said he has been sick for three years with long covid. I asked him how many shots he got–two he said–after which he couldn’t stop getting sick. He conceded no dots.
The stories trickle in like a lazy little stream of quiet, personal tragedies. There are known dots, dots we know we know we don’t know, and unknown dots we know we don’t know. Life for some is a wondrous display of pixels begging to be filled in, and for others an abstraction they seem content to live within. I’m not judging. Maybe life is much easier their way.
In the end, however, livers of life in voluntary abstraction cannot live without the hard reality the rest of us demand, for without us they will descend into the programmed pseudo-reality hellscape from which, despite their oblivion, we try to save all.

LONDON (AP) – London’s Gatwick Airport evacuated part of its South Terminal as a precaution on Friday while police investigated a suspicious item found in luggage.
Authorities were called to the terminal at 8:20 a.m. after the discovery of a “suspected prohibited item,” Sussex Police said in a statement.
“To ensure the safety of the public, staff and other airport users, a security cordon has been put in place whilst the matter is dealt with,” police said in a statement. “As a precaution, an EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) team is being deployed to the airport.”
