I would put actual goods and services as barter below even gold as Au and Ag are both mediums of exchange and therefore still one abstraction above reality.
It is quite conceivable, even possible that people will refuse to sell food for gold and silver under certain circumstances. Like where there is no market and no one knows where food will come from, once one’s stores are depleted.
But at that point, lead becomes a very valuable material, depending on its delivery system.
Generally though, yeah the more abstracted the storage of wealth becomes, the more vulnerable to bad actors. And the more our civilization deteriorates to ‘democracy’ from a constitutional republic, the more bad actors are in control.
I like silver because it’s practical. Easier to exchange a few coins for food than tempting bad guys with gold.
I know death camp survivors and Soviet defectors who had their back teeth replaced with diamonds. Only top grade is worth it, so you have to know what’s what and who’s who.
Lead – with the proper dispatch systems, of course – should top every such list.
If you have enough money to buy them buy as much weight in silver as you do gold, but lead can be used in a barter system almost as much as gold. People will always want hunting and protection ammo.
If you have enough money and live in a state that lets you own them get self defense and hunting guns in several different calibers, that way you stand a better chance of finding ammo for one when you start running low.
Eventually life looks like it may end up like a game of Wolfenstein or Doom. Or that great movie, Falling Down which is basically the same.
It may, I pray it won’t get that bad. If it does having a lot of 22 LR to use in barter would be smart.

Former Fulton County special prosecutor Nathan Wade met with Biden administration staff on at least two occasions during District Attorney Fani Willis’ probe into former President Donald Trump, a newly released transcript suggests.
Wade was interviewed by House Judiciary Committee staff last week as part of Chairman Jim Jordan’s probe into the prosecutions of the former president.
A grand jury indicted Trump and allies last year on charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.
Wade did not disclose the details of his supposed meetings with White House representatives, including if they were in-person or remote, but he acknowledged the existence of invoices and other records that indicated discussions occurred.

Shenzhen DJI Technology Company (DJI), a Chinese drone manufacturer, is suing the Pentagon over its 2022 decision to add DJI to its blacklist of “Military Companies Operating in the United States,” which are considered potential national security threats. In its lawsuit, DJI—which is one of the largest producers of drones in the world—alleged that the Chinese military label has negatively impacted its business and “violates the law and DJI’s due-process rights.”
Stefanik said that Lynch “has turned her back on her nation, selling out to our greatest adversary Communist China and suing the United States on behalf of CCP-owned drone company DJI.”
“Not only is her lawsuit full of factual errors, it is also an obvious effort by DJI to distract from CBP’s recent halting of DJI imports due to Uyghur slave labor concerns and a futile attempt to disrupt the momentum behind my unanimously passed Countering CCP Drones Act,” the New York representative told National Review.
Stefanik—who wrote the Countering CCP Drones Act, which blocked DJI products from “operating on U.S. communications infrastructure”—also said that the drone company’s “sham lawsuit is not going to save them.”
Lynch, who served as U.S. attorney general under former president Barack Obama, is now a partner at the law firm Paul Weiss. Prior to DJI’s Friday lawsuit against the Pentagon, Lynch wrote a letter to the Department of Defense on behalf of her client requesting its removal from the Pentagon’s blacklist, Reuters reported.
The U.S. Treasury placed investment restrictions on DJI in 2021, accusing it of actively supporting surveillance against Uyghurs—Turkic Muslims facing persecution by the CCP. DJI has been accused of surveilling other ethnic minorities in China, and its drones have allegedly been used by both sides in the war in Ukraine, the Agence France Presse reported.

The real foreign interference in this election is not coming from Russia but rather from Harris campaign officials colluding with political operatives from arguably America’s closest ally, The United Kingdom. And the world’s richest man is right in the bullseye.
As The Gateway Pundit has tirelessly reported, the Harris-Biden regime has been relentlessly trying to put Musk ‘in his place.’ Biden-Harris’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been baselessly investigating Elon Musk’s lawful purchase of X/Twitter in 2022 and is also suing him.
To make matters worse, the SEC announced last month they would sanction Musk after he refused to appear in court for testimony regarding his acquisition of X/Twitter, even though his testimony had already been rescheduled for early October.
Paul Thacker and Matt Taibbi have now exclusively obtained documents that reveal that British political operatives advising Kamala Harris’s campaign have launched plans to destroy X/Twitter because Elon Musk has dared to make the social media platform a place where free speech can flourish. This explosive expose was published on Thacker’s substack The DisInformation Chronicle.
Internal documents from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) demonstrate that the group plans in writing to “kill Musk’s Twitter” while deepening relationships with the Harris-Biden regime. They are also aligning themselves with pro-censorship Democrats like Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, who has introduced multiple bills to destroy Internet free speech under the guise of stopping “misinformation” and “fake news.”

The DisInformation Chronicle reveals The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) is deeply tied to Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s far-left Labour Party and serves as a messaging soundboard for one of Labour’s top think tanks, Labour Together. Moreover, the CCDH and Labour Together were founded by Morgan McSweeney, the figure most responsible for Starmer’s ascension to Prime Minister.
The documents also show that “Kill Musk’s Twitter” is the first item in the CCDH’s template of its monthly agenda notes, which dates back to the beginning of the year. They hope to accomplish this by targeting advertising on X and leveraging EU regulations.
This further proves that destroying X/Twitter will be high on a Harris regime’s priority list.
According to documents obtained by Taibbi and Thacker, along with interviews with CCDH whistleblowers, an invitation-only conference held this past summer which members of the Harris-Biden regime attended, including a senior advisor at the White House and multiple State Department officials. Soros-funded Media Matters for America (which is suing Musk) as well as a staffer from far-left Congressman Adam Schiff’s office were also present.

What makes the CCDH documents even more troubling is that Labour Together political operatives have been teaching election strategy to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. This revelation led to far-left Politico to describe Labour and the Democrats as “sister parties.”
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the ties run so deep between the Harris campaign and the Labour Party that the latter is sending nearly 100 staff to the U.S. to her campaign in crucial battleground states. These operatives, led by Sofia Patel, will target key swing states like Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia in a desperate bid to push Harris into the White House.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) confirmed on Sunday that the U.S. government is now investigating the unauthorized release of these documents, which are believed to have originated from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency.
Now, a senior Pentagon official has been identified as the primary suspect in a classified leak involving the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) plan to strike Iran.
The American official under suspicion has been named as Ariane Tabatabai, an Iranian-American scholar of political science who currently serves as a senior policy advisor at the Pentagon.

A Pentagon official told Sky News in Arabic that the investigation being conducted by intelligence agencies in Washington into the leaking to Tehran documents of the IDF plan to strike Iran has begun to indicate “suspicion” of the involvement of a senior employee in the Pentagon.
The American official added that the employee suspected of leaking the documents is an American of Iranian origin named Ariane Tabatabai.
Ariane Tabatabai is an Iranian-American scholar of political science, writer, and senior policy advisor to the United States Department of Defense. After the Biden administration took office in January 2021, she joined the US negotiating team in nuclear negotiations with Iran. Between 2021 and 2022, she served as an advisor to Robert Malley, the chief promoter of pushing a deal with Iran at any cost.
Members of the US Congress, especially Republicans, have pointed out that Robert Malley was investigated after being suspected of having dealt with classified information without prior permission and of having secret contacts with Iranian figures.

Far-left Los Angeles Times, California’s largest newspaper, has turned its back on Kamala Harris, refusing to endorse her in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
This stunning break from tradition marks a sharp shift for the paper, which has consistently endorsed Democrat candidates, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden.
This refusal to back their home-state candidate speaks volumes about Harris’s diminishing support, even within liberal strongholds.
The LA Times published its endorsements for congressional and local elections but conspicuously omitted any recommendation for the presidency.
While the editorial board declared this election as “the most consequential in a generation,” their silence on Harris and the presidency was deafening.
Behind this decision, sources suggest, according to Semafor, is the influence of the paper’s owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong.
Soon-Shiong reportedly blocked the editorial board from endorsing Harris. This follows a pattern, as in 2020, the paper intended to endorse Elizabeth Warren during the Democratic primaries, only for Soon-Shiong to veto the decision at the last minute.

The paper’s editorial board, which has endorsed Democratic candidates in every presidential race since it first endorsed then-Sen. Barack Obama in 2008, was preparing to do so once again this election.
But according to two people familiar with the situation, executive editor Terry Tang told editorial board staff earlier this month that the paper would not be endorsing a candidate in the presidential election this cycle, a decision that came from the paper’s owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, a doctor who made his fortune in the healthcare industry.
The paper did not explain its decision, though it noted at the bottom of its online endorsement page that “the editorial board endorses selectively, choosing the most consequential races in which to make recommendations.”
An LA Times spokesperson told Semafor, “We do not comment on internal discussions or decisions about editorials or endorsements.”
Harris’s sharp decline in popularity and credibility is a growing concern for Democrats, particularly when even far-left media outlets like the LA Times refuse to rally behind her.
The newspaper, which had once eagerly backed candidates like Obama, Clinton, and Biden, seems to be signaling that it is no longer willing to attach its brand to the sinking ship of the Harris-Walz ticket.

America First Legal filed a bar complaint on behalf of Stefan Passantino against Liz Cheney for violating professional ethics obligations by secretly messaging Cassidy Hutchinson prior to her testimony to the J6 Committee.
“Cheney appears to have violated the D.C. Bar Rule of Professional Conduct 4.2: “a lawyer shall not communicate or cause another to communicate about the subject of the representation with a person known to be represented by another lawyer in the matter, unless the lawyer has the prior consent of the lawyer representing such other person or is authorized by law or a court order to do so.”” America First Legal said.

As previously reported, Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk obtained January 6 ‘star witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson’s Signal messages which revealed she was directly communicating with J6 Vice Chair Liz Cheney in 2022.
Liz Cheney was communicating with Cassidy Hutchinson without Hutchinson’s attorney’s knowledge – knowing this is unethical.
“In the months prior to Hutchinson’s explosive private and public testimony, Cheney communicated with Hutchinson, both directly and through an intermediary—Alyssa Farah Griffin—while Hutchinson was represented by her attorney, Stefan Passantino. The Select Committee conducted six transcribed interviews of Hutchinson in total. Passantino represented Hutchinson for the first three interviews,” the Oversight Committee said.
Cheney began communicating with Hutchinson in April 2022.
“Hutchinson reached out to Farah Griffin following Hutchinson’s second transcribed interview. Farah Griffin and Hutchinson knew each other from their time working together in the White House. Farah Griffin was one of the first former Trump administration officials to publicly criticize Trump in January 2021, and was publicly working with the Select Committee on its investigation,” the GOP Committee said.
When Hutchinson reached out to Farah Griffin, she invited Hutchinson over to her Georgetown townhome to talk on April 26, 2022. That evening, Hutchinson told Farah Griffin she had more information she could provide to the Select Committee, according to statements by both Hutchinson and Farah Griffin. During their conversation, Farah Griffin agreed to “[contact] Liz Cheney on [Hutchinson’s] behalf about scheduling another interview.” Hutchinson’s new testimony would include her never-before-heard story that alleged that President Trump agreed with rioters chanting “Hang Mike Pence.”
According to text messages, that appear to be from the encrypted messaging app “Signal,” between Hutchinson and Farah Griffin obtained by the Subcommittee, Cheney agreed to communicate with Hutchinson through Farah Griffin.However, it appears that Cheney knew communicating with Hutchinson while Hutchinson was represented by an attorney and a subject of the Select Committee’s investigation, without going through Hutchinson’s attorney, would be unethical. This is evident by Farah Griffin’s text to Hutchinson that Cheney’s “one concern was so long as [sic] you have counsel, she can’t really ethically talk to you without him.”?
After her third transcribed interview Hutchinson reached out to Cheney directly.
“While Hutchinson revealed the general timing of these conversations in her book, the extent and content of their communication was never previously disclosed,” the Committee said.
“When Hutchinson texted Cheney, she was still represented by Passantino which, Cheney knew. Cheney and Hutchinson communicated directly for days without Passantino’s knowledge. Subsequently, Cheney provided Hutchison with new attorneys from Alston and Bird—pro bono,” they said.

On the last leg of her African tour, Vice President Kamala Harris paid a visit to an otherwise unremarkable office building in Zambia. Her staff and local embassy personnel had spent a great deal of time looking for it and everyone was hoping it was the right place.
Kamala, with her Jamaican and Indian roots, needed a tangible connection to Africa to win over African-American voters and convince them that she was one of them. And everyone settled on the office building as being the next best thing because it was the former spot of the building where she had once stayed as a little girl with her Indian mother on a visit to her grandfather.
President Hakainde Hichilema welcomed her as “a daughter of our own country, someone who spent time here in her early years.”
Kamala responded by launching into a story about having visited “Zambia, Mr. President, as a young girl when my grandfather worked here” as “an advisor to Zambia’s first president, Kenneth Kaunda” to “serve as a director of relief measures and refugees.”
The vice president then began singing the praises of Kaunda, a brutal socialist dictator allied with the Soviet Union, who had banned opposing political parties and ran as the only candidate for president until he was finally ousted, and praised Zambia’s “democracy”. Kaunda, whom Kamala fondly recalled meeting with JFK and MLK “to discuss peaceful forms of protest” had demanded nuclear weapons from LBJ. Hichilema, who had narrowly survived being arrested by a previous regime, had nothing to say about Kamala’s fond memories of Zambian democracy.
Or the “peaceful forms of protest” carried on with nuclear missiles and terrorism.
But behind Kamala’s childhood time in Zambia and her grandfather’s work is a lot of blood, along with a horrifying and mostly forgotten story of terrorism, atrocities and mass murder.
P. V. Gopalan, Kamala’s grandfather, had been a member of India’s socialist Congress party which was aligned with the USSR. What “refugees” was he aiding in Zambia?
Gopalan was posted to Zambia from 1966 to 1969. Formerly known as Northern Rhodesia, Zambia played a key role in the genocidal terrorist campaign against what was known as Rhodesia before it fell to a brutal dictatorship and became known afterward as Zimbabwe.
Before Robert Mugabe spent nearly four decades ruling Zimbabwe, the Communist thug led a terrorist organization known as ZANU allied with another counterpart terrorist group: Joshua Nkomo’s ZAPU. Often wrongly described as guerrilla groups by their western supporters, their combat tactics mostly focused on massacres of civilians and planting bombs on roads.
Zambia under Kaunda harbored ZAPU and ZANU bases across the border where the Soviet-backed terrorists ran training camps under the guise of providing shelter to ‘refugees’. Some of the refugees were civilians who supported the terrorists. Others were terrorists themselves.The ‘refugee’ camps were run by ZAPU and ZANU which indoctrinated the civilians, brutally punished them for even slight offenses and made it their goal to turn them into terrorists.
In 1965, Rhodesia declared independence from the ruling Labour government in the UK which was determined to hand over the country to Marxist terrorist organizations. By 1966, when Kamala’s grandfather arrived in Zambia, the war for Rhodesia was truly underway.
The Marxist terrorists had plenty of weapons supplied by the USSR and Communist China, but preferred attacking Rhodesian civilians to trying to fight the brave little country’s volunteer army. Typical ZANU and ZAPU attacks involved firing RPGs at civilian houses and throwing hand grenades at little girls. Missionaries were murdered and shoppers were gunned down.
Among the easiest targets were American and British missionaries providing education and medical care to the black population. At Elim Mission, Marxist terrorists raped the women and then beat and axed them to death along with their children. The victims were British citizens.
The New York Times described the scene. “a woman, dressed in a bathrobe with her hair in curlers, had an ax imbedded in her neck. Four children—a boy 4 years of age, two sisters aged 4 and 8, and another girl of 5—lay huddled close together. All were dressed in pajamas, and like the other victims they had all been struck on the head with clubs. Some also had stab wounds. One of the girls had the imprint of a boot on the side of her face.“
“Nearby lay the body of a woman, her arm encircling her dead 3-week-old daughter. Near them was a heavy wooden limb with blood on it.”
The mother was Mrs. Joyce Grace and her daughter had been named Pamela Grace.
The Marxist terrorists finally got lucky and hit Air Rhodesia Flight 825 in the late seventies. The surviving passengers were rounded up, promised water and help, and then gunned down.
All of this came after Kamala’s grandfather had gone back home to India and Kaunda had decided that backing the terrorists was too dangerous once they threatened his regime.
There are few details about the exact role played by P.V. Gopalan except that he was advising the Kaunda regime on the “refugees”. The refugee camps were terrorist bases. It’s unknown what complicity her grandfather might have had with them, but he had been dispatched to Zambia the year that Indira Gandhi took power. And this Gandhi was no humanitarian.
Indira Gandhi aligned India with the USSR and its Communist movements including those operating in Africa. In the 1970s, while the worst of the violence was taking place, Gandhi had visited Zambia and backed Kaunda’s call for the takeover of Rhodesia by the Marxist terrorist groups. She had expressed her joy that she was “back on the mainland of Africa when the final battle was about to be joined” for the final ethnic cleansing of Rhodesia’s white population.
If P.V. Gopalan had been in Zambia to help prop up the Marxist terror groups, it would not have at all been at odds with the policy of the Gandhi regime. Indira Gandhi had met with both Mugabe and Nkomo: terrorists responsible for the massacre of Rhodesian women and children.
Were Mugabe and Nkomo among the visitors passing through the Gopalan home?
Kamala, who was a 5-year-old when her Marxist father and radical leftist mother brought her to Africa, knew none of this. As the LA Times put it, “the young Kamala was oblivious to the intrigue swirling around her, with Gopalan’s government-issued car whisking him to meetings with Zambian officials and diplomats dropping by for visits.”
But in the succeeding years, Kamala either failed to educate herself about the history around her or knows exactly what happened and has chosen to stand with Kaunda and his crimes.
According to the Voice of America, a government broadcast agency, “Zambia was personal, and the work of her grandfather — who served as an adviser to Zambia’s first president, Kenneth Kaunda, in the 1960s — influenced her own trajectory to the highest office.”
And so there may be no way to detach the crimes of those days from Kamala’s political career.
Especially since she heads a party that was directly complicit in the Marxist atrocities.
The same year that Flight 825 was shot down, Carter’s UN Ambassador Andrew Young gushed that Mugabe was a “very gentle man. I can’t imagine Joshua Nkomo, or Robert Mugabe, ever pulling the trigger on a gun to kill anyone. I doubt that they ever have.”
Nkomo had not only taken responsibility for the downed airliner, he had laughed about it.
Kamala’s radical third world family closely parallels Obama’s radical third world family. Neither of their experiences are rooted in the black community, but in the Soviet globalism of the sixties.
“I am a daughter of the civil rights movement,” Kamala Harris claimed. Her parents have been described as “civil rights activists”. These attempts to make her sound as if she were African-American are highly misleading. Kamala had not come out of a black southern Christian movement. Her family was not African-American, they were third world academic radicals who used parts of America and other places in the world as bases for their militant activism.
Kamala’s links to Africa are not racial, but political. Her mother’s radical Indian family was there as part of a Soviet bloc aligned agenda. While Kamala enjoyed being in an exotic place, 60 miles away at the border, people were fighting and dying over the supremacy of Communism.
The Kaunda regime, an object of horror for Zambia, Zimbabwe and Rhodesian refugees, is a nostalgic memory for Vice President Kamala Harris. And for many in her political movement.
Kamala and Obama both come from radical Third World families who loathed America and Western civilization. Obama’s family played a role in Islamist massacres in Indonesia and Kenya while Kamala’s family appears to have had a role in the Communist war against Rhodesia.
People are not prisoners of their past but the way that Obama and Kamala were raised provide important insights about their worldviews, their politics and their plans for America.

Former President Donald Trump’s tax reform ideas could offer total or partial income tax exemptions to roughly 93.2 million Americans, a meaningful chunk of the U.S. electorate, according to CNBC’s analysis of several estimates.
As part of his economic pitch to voters, Trump has floated a sweeping tax overhaul, including a slate of income tax breaks.
So far, the Republican presidential nominee has officially proposed eliminating income tax on tips and Social Security benefits, along with overtime pay. And last week, in an interview on the sports media site OutKick, Trump said he would consider tax exemptions for firefighters, police officers, military personnel and veterans.
These exemptions are part of Trump’s larger vision to transition away from the income tax system and replace it with the revenue he says would be generated by his hardline tariff proposals.
“In the old days when we were smart, when we were a smart country, in the 1890s and all, this is when the country was relatively the richest it ever was. It had all tariffs. It didn’t have an income tax,” Trump said at a sit-down with voters in New York on Friday for “Fox & Friends.” “Now we have income taxes, and we have people that are dying.”
Trump has pledged to impose a 20% universal tariff on all imports from all countries with a specific 60% rate for Chinese imports.
Tax experts reject the notion that tariff revenue could offset the losses incurred by eliminating income taxes.
“The math doesn’t work out,” Garrett Watson, a senior policy analyst at the nonpartisan Tax Foundation, told CNBC.
He said Trump’s tariffs would raise approximately $3.8 trillion over the next decade, far less than the roughly $33 trillion of estimated revenue generated by income taxes over the same period.
Given that tariffs are paid by U.S. importers and those costs have historically been passed on to consumers, Trump’s strategy appears to be based around a notion of replacing income tax revenue with a kind of invisible sales tax.
Tariffs, much like sales tax and other point-of-sale costs, tend to have the biggest impact on low-income consumers, for whom the amounts represent proportionately larger slices of their monthly budgets.
If implemented, Trump’s income tax exemptions could affect tens of millions of taxpayers.
Roughly 68 million Americans receive Social Security benefits each month, according to the Social Security Administration. And in 2023, about 4 million workers were in tipped jobs, according to an estimate from Yale University’s Budget Lab.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs approximated in March 2023 that there were 18.6 million living veterans. There are 1.3 million active-duty military personnel, according to the Department of Defense. And there are 800,000 sworn law enforcement officers and roughly 500,000 paid firefighters.
Taken together, these reforms could leave about 93.2 million people off the hook for at least a portion, if not all, of their income taxes.
That accounts for about 38% of the 244 million Americans eligible to vote in 2024.
This total excludes the many more people who would be exempt from part of their income taxes if Trump executed his proposed elimination of taxes on overtime pay. And the total could vary based on how much overlap there is between the taxpayer groups Trump has proposed to give tax breaks to.
The tax exemptions on tips, overtime pay and Social Security benefits would reduce federal tax revenue by $2 trillion over the next 10 years, according to the Tax Foundation.
“Trump’s proposed tax exemptions for tips, Social Security benefits, overtime work, and potentially for workers of certain occupations follows a trend of promising narrowly targeted tax benefits without a strong underlying policy rationale and no consideration on how these proposals would impact revenue collections or the complexity of the tax system,” the Tax Foundation’s Watson told CNBC.
Factoring in Trump’s tariff plans and other tax cuts, his overall plan would reduce federal tax revenue by an estimated $3 trillion from 2025 to 2034, the Tax Foundation estimated.
Analysts see Trump’s scheme to move away from income taxes as something of a pipe dream.
“Spoiler alert: We don’t think tariffs will replace income taxes,” Evercore analysts wrote in a June report.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment about Trump’s tax plans.
Trump’s proposed erosion of the income tax system comes as he also pledges to make permanent his 2017 tax cuts, which are due to expire in 2025.
But even if Trump were to win the November election against Harris, his tax overhaul will not see the light of day without a Republican majority in the House of Representatives, which is where all tax bills originate.
Republicans currently control the House with a razor-thin margin. Control of the chamber will hinge on the outcome of a small number of competitive districts in November.

A political sign on private property in Virginia that was alleged by residents to be booby-trapped received a response from the Loudoun County bomb squad.
The sign depicts Kamala Harris and reads, “Day One for me was Jan 2021.”
It continues, “I helped create this mess.”
The Loudon County bomb squad visited the property where the sign is placed after residents claimed the sign was booby-trapped with shotgun shells and what appeared to be gunpowder.
After an investigation, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the sign owner did not break any laws, and the device residents were worried about was an audible warning device and not an explosive.

A booby-trapped political campaign sign in Virginia has raised concerns among residents and prompted a response from the Loudoun County bomb squad.
The sign, featuring a caricature of Vice President Kamala Harris, is on private property and is now surrounded by freshly placed “no trespassing” signs.
The booby trap consists of shotgun shells filled with what appears to be gunpowder.
The situation came to light after a resident called authorities on Saturday morning, prompting a Sheriff’s Office deputy and members of the Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate. A bomb assessment team was also brought in to assess the situation.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, political sign vandalism on private property is not new, and property owners have made efforts to protect their signs in the past. After examining the device, investigators determined it was an audible warning device, not an explosive, and was not illegal.
The property owner who set up the sign said previous signs he placed on his property were vandalized, which prompted him to put security measures on the newest sign.

Hezbollah’s gold mine catches fire: Nasrallah’s bunker under hospital held half billion dollars
The IDF reveals the economic blow that landed in Beirut.
[T]he former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s bunker in Dahieh in southern Beirut was located underneath a hospital – which held gold and half a billion dollars in cash.
One of his bunkers was located beneath the Al-Sahel Hospital and was used as Nasrallah’s emergency bunker, according to the IDF. The hospital has been evacuated following Israeli claims a Hezbollah cash bunker is located beneath it, hospital director Fadi Alameh told Reuters on Monday. Hagari said that Israel will not strike the hospital.
An N12 report said that it serves as Hezbollah’s central money warehouse, where the vast majority of the organization’s money stolen from Lebanese citizens and used for terrorism is hidden.
The IDF revealed a graphic photo and a video simulation of the structure. “This bunker is deliberately placed under the hospital and on both sides of it,” Hagari continued. “You can see the buildings under which the entrance shafts to the bunker are located.
