Reader’s Links for October 13, 2024

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression. The Substack is a different project in a sense. It is older videos that in the light of subsequent events, look different or of increased importance, Check it out now and again if you like.

    • Obama was slow to provide help to the states that voted against him, this is typical Dem behavior.

  1. Just on observing things,
I went to the early voting and I saw one thing stand out, this booth lady’s laptop with free palestinian stickers and an Arabic allah logo with a gun silhouette.

    • In this vanilla-coated FOI – They admit to spraying two main chemicals: calcium chloride and “ice flares” which are a combination chemical of acetone, silver oxide, sodium perchlorate, paradichlorobenzene and ammonia iodine that create an ice nucleus of iodide-silver chloride-salt and carbon dioxide.
They are fighting “climate change” by making combustion products of carbon dioxide?
It’s happening throughout Canada , we do have flight logs, times, chemical use, and evidence of cloud seeding focused on “hail stopping” and thunderstorm modification.
There is no scary climate change, but there is geoengineering at the hands of a few causing climate chaos and manipulating mankind into yet another deep delusion, furthering their plans to create some warped one world order Orwellian dystopia.

  2. United Nations’ Material Support for Terrorism: Allegedly Gave $1.3 Billion to Hamas in Cash, Presumably for Weapons
Corruption and Bias Have Reduced the UN to Irrelevance

Gavriel Mairone, the attorney who is representing the plaintiffs, argues that these shocking allegations demonstrate that, for more than a decade, UNRWA’s aid distribution network was involved in widespread fraud and corruption. The lawsuit claims this scheme not only enriched Hamas but also funded terrorism, playing a pivotal role in the October 7 attacks.

The first damning evidence of the UN’s complicity in the worst terrorist atrocity committed in Israel’s history emerged after Israel’s military reported that 450 workers employed by UNRWA were “military operatives from Hamas and other armed groups” and has shared this intelligence with the United Nations.

The dossier of “a UN crime against humanity” and its demonization of Israel is too long to list, but one can get a glimpse of it…

A better idea, given the body’s recent woeful record on its handling of the Middle East, would be to demolish the entire infrastructure of this corrupt and institutionally biased body.

    • Netanyahu tells UN to get forces out of harm’s way in Lebanon
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called for United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to remove UNIFIL peacekeepers from areas of IDF activity in Southern Lebanon.

“I want to directly address the U.N. Secretary-General from here: It is time for you to remove UNIFIL from Hezbollah’s strongholds and from the combat areas,” the premier said in a statement.

“The IDF has repeatedly requested this, only to be met with refusal, a refusal aimed solely at providing Hezbollah terrorists with a human shield. Your refusal to evacuate UNIFIL soldiers turns them into hostages of Hezbollah. This endangers both them and the lives of our soldiers,” he continued.

“We regret the harm caused to UNIFIL soldiers, and we are doing everything we can to prevent it. But the simplest and most obvious way to ensure their safety is to simply remove them from the danger zone.

Mr. Secretary-General, get the UNIFIL forces out of harm’s way. It should be done right now, immediately,” Netanyahu said.

“Unfortunately, some European leaders are applying pressure in the wrong place. Instead of criticizing Israel, they should direct their criticism at Hezbollah, which uses UNIFIL as a human shield, just as Hamas in Gaza uses UNRWA as a human shield. Unfortunately, in Gaza, UNRWA even collaborates with Hamas.”

What danger do U.N. peacekeepers face in Lebanon?

In September, a UNIFIL contract worker was killed in a strike on his car in Naqoura. A barber who worked with UNIFIL’s Spanish contingent was also injured by Israeli sniper fire.

      HonestReporting@HonestReporting
The contract worker was a cleaner. The barber cut the hair of Spanish UNIFIL employees. Neither was a UN peacekeeper.

How many degrees of separation does @washingtonpost need to highlight here?

Let me save everyone time and tell you how this ends.

For the next few weeks, there will be echo chamber outrage from Biden-Harris officials, journalists, NGOs, the UN, Western diplomats, etc. that Israel is pushing into UNIFIL outposts. The Israelis will ignore that criticism, because they have to as a matter of military necessity, because those UNIFIL outposts are used by Hezbollah as cover for tunnels, firing positions, etc.

The Israelis will then secure and publish evidence of exactly all that, showing that UNIFIL soldiers have been willingly serving as Hezbollah human shields while boosting an international campaign against Israel.

At that point most of Israel’s critics will find a new manufactured criticism, though some will simply ignore the new evidence (for instance journalists will still publish their stories about Israel targeting UNIFIL, maybe with a line toward the bottom that goes “Israeli officials claim Hezbollah positioned itself near the outposts.”)

The echo chamber outrage, by the by, comes from a couple places. Some of it is autopilot: this thing is what the Israelis are doing right now, so that’s what they’re hitting the Israelis for. But some of it is undoubtedly tactical. It’s an effort to deter Israel from being able to credibly expose what UNIFIL has been doing.

  3. Hizbullah Can Be Destroyed by Following the Money: The key to blocking terror group from strengthening post-ceasefire lies in drug labs, Lebanese banks and existing economic systems

In laboratories across southern Lebanon, Hizbullah recruits stir amphetamines together with cheap chemicals. The result is Captagon, the “cocaine of the poor.” The drug will be sold to Gulf nations and the profits, in the tens of millions of dollars, used to fund terrorism. Drug trafficking is forbidden by Islam. But Hizbullah has developed a pragmatic approach, manufacturing the drug for the “enemies of Islam” in the Gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia.

In order to prevent Hizbullah from gaining strength after a ceasefire, Israel and the international community must “follow the money.” Some 40% of Hizbullah’s revenues come from trading Captagon. A targeted attack on its Captagon laboratories in the Bekaa Valley could harm Hizbullah’s production and distribution capability. International cooperation is also needed to check the Lebanese banking system, which allows Hizbullah to launder the profits from drug trafficking.

While a Hizbullah fighter earns $1,500 a month, a soldier in the Lebanese army earns just $300. These salaries come to a large extent from the drug trade, and cutting the ability to fund them will harm the motivation of Hizbullah’s fighters and limit its ability to recruit fighters.

  4. I posted this on Oct. 10:
U.S. Soldiers Trapped in Israel on Oct. 7 Narrowly Escaped Being Taken Captive by Hamas

A quarter of the 40 U.S. Army soldiers who were in Israel as the advance team for a routine training exercise last Oct. 7 were just miles from Gaza in off-base housing near the IDF’s Tze’elim base when the Hamas attack began.

A group of local Israelis – IDF reservists, police officers, and ordinary citizens – got them to the base, which Hamas terrorists were quickly heading toward.

With his men in mortal danger, the U.S. team leader requested permission to open the arms locker so they could retrieve their firearms, but this was DENIED by U.S. Central Command. [ ! ! ! ]
    ^ ^ ^

The rest of the soldiers arrived in Tel Aviv, where Hamas rockets were hitting near their hotels.

Some 40 hours after the attacks started, a U.S. Air Force C-17 briefly touched down in Tel Aviv to exfiltrate the soldiers.

Deployment of US missile defense systems in Israel with operators (“boots on the ground”) would be a departure from Netanyuahu’s principle that “Israel defends itself by itself”. It will demonstrate the strength of the alliance, but also the depth of the dependence on the US
