Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    Well, if this doesn’t describe everything single relationship in human history I don’t know what does. Every relationship you have with every person has a ledger. In the back of our mind we keep score. Exceptions may be those not yet able to balance the “books”, such as children.

    The Bitcoin trap had noble beginnings. It was an ambitious mathematical theory realized, but then usurped into banker’s and governments’ own counterfeit.

      I have never been on Facebook. I do not own a cell phone. I do not have air conditioning. I have a wood stove. I do not owe any money. I have a credit card, I do not use. I do not believe anything the government tells me. I did not get vaccinated and NEVER will. I have never had a flu shot and I have never had the flu. No one should ever let the government give them a PCR test to tell them they are sick. The only truly sick in our society today are the EU, UN, WHO, WEF and politicians who support their destructive behaviour. I am looking for a very old gas powered truck.

      We all need to go back to the old ways. Be prepared for utter destruction. Read the Bible. The climate clown, weather modification, a pill for ever ill, vaccinate the world elites can be defeated.

    At this late stage, Foxy news is now showing a news conference featuring Biden, Harris etc. They are warning about a lot of lying, misinformation, disinformation about controlling the weather, not getting money, help, and lying about giving FEMA money to the migrants.

    They are a little late but they are now spreading their propaganda. They really care about you. At least there was no mention about Islamophobia.

    “The mayor of the capital of Mexico’s violence-plagued state of Guerrero was killed on Sunday less than a week after he took office, the state’s governor confirmed,” Reuters reported Sunday. “The official confirmation came after photos circulated on messaging app WhatsApp depicting a severed head on top of a pick-up truck, appearing to be that of Arcos.”

    “Arcos’ death comes just three days after the new city government’s secretary, Francisco Tapia, was shot to death,” the report adds.
    So much for what Senator Alejandro Moreno called “young and honest officials who sought progress for their community.” So much for Guerrero Governor Evelyn Salgado being “fill[ed] with indignation.” The message is clear: If they perceive “reformers” to be a sufficient threat, the brutal cartels will not just remove them but do it in a barbaric way that sends anyone thinking of crossing them a clear and deadly message.
    So much for Mexico’s vaunted “gun laws” that do nothing but ensure the people will continue to be ruled by public and private warlords.

    And so much for short public memories over the propaganda push that led to Operation Fast and Furious. Possibly because no one of import was actually punished for the criminal “gunwalking” plot that has led to untold numbers of Mexican and U.S. citizens being killed, the usual political, academic, and media characters are back to blaming “lax U.S. gun laws” for the ubiquitous bloodbaths feeding demands to disarm more potential victims.

    “’Exit Wounds’ finds the majority of gun violence in Mexico is committed with guns from the U.S.,” Boston’s National Public Radio outlet, WBUR claimed. “Host Deepa Fernandes speaks with Brown University associate professor Ieva Jusionyte about her new book ‘Exit Wounds: How America’s Guns Fuel Violence Across the Border,’ which is a deep dive into how and why guns from the United States are continually flowing into Mexico.”

    How deep? Does it conclude, “Because the gun-prohibitionist Democrats want the border open, so they have more illegal aliens to shunt onto their ‘pathway to citizenship’ and attain an unchallengeable majority”? But don’t take my word for it: take Chuck Schumer’s (and funny, how none of the major national and state “gun rights” groups are willing to acknowledge that a politician’s “immigration” votes have a direct impact on the “single issue”).
    But if gunwalking is still an issue, tell us the “bulk gun purchase” and four border state rules didn’t work without telling us the “bulk gun purchase” and four border state rules didn’t work. Did anyone capable of critical thinking really believe they would, or that the motive behind imposing them was anything other than more incremental infringements on the way to new gun bans?
    Or that “straw purchased” semiautos represent the real firepower of the cartels? There’s a new Wall Street Journal report published Saturday, “The American Guns That Mexican Cartels Covet: A Visual Guide.” Among the favorites, multi-barreled full autos and belt-fed SAWS.
    Straw purchasers sure don’t get those from FFLs or though “gun show loopholes.”

    Where the cartels get them from are corrupt government officials in their pockets. From them and from stuff flowing in across Mexico’s southern borders.

    “Ordnance crossing into Mexico over border—its southern one,” I reported in 2011. “Additionally: Some have been taken/bought/stolen from the Mexican army itself.”

    We knew that then and we know that now—it’s just those whose goal is to disarm U.S. gun owners, and their media cheerleaders, don’t want the public they’ve spent so much energy lying to in on the “secret.” But the information is there for anyone with an open mind to follow source links and prove to themselves.

    “Conviction of Top Mexican Cop Shows Corruption Problem, Not U.S. Guns,” I reported for Firearms News in March 2023. “Former Mexico Public Security Secretary Genaro Garcia Luna is guilty of drug trafficking, also showing new points on American guns in Mexico.”

    “The Supreme Court agreed to hear the gun industry’s challenge to the Mexican government’s lawsuit against them,” Legal Insurrection, among many others, is reporting. “The Mexican government sued the big gun companies, accusing them of fueling cartel violence in the country. The government also blamed America’s gun laws. The government wants $10 billion.”

    Mexican prohibitionists ignoring the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act to effect U.S. citizen disarmament are creatures that can only operate at the behest of cartel monsters who decapitate to terrorize.

    “I expect our side to win. What I’m most curious of is what the Democrat judges will do, and how they will rationalize their arguments if they side with Mexico,” I noted on my The War on Guns: Notes from the Resistance blog. “Between SCOTUS now taking on both this and frames/receivers, how any gun owner can justify not voting and letting Kamala Harris reshape the Court is beyond me.”

    • As Cartel Violence Flares in Sinaloa, Mexico Disarms a Local Police Force

      The Mexican government contends in its $10 billion lawsuit against U.S. gunmakers that our firearms industry is willfully aiding and abetting the drug cartels by (among other things) allowing their guns to be trafficked south of the border. But a recent move by Mexico’s federal government highlights one key way the cartels are acquiring their firepower: through corrupt government officials.

      In the state of Sinaloa, a civil war has broken out between competing factions of the Sinaloa cartel. More than 140 people have been killed in just the past month, and as the New York Times details, the government’s response has included one unusual move.

      “We are at a critical moment right now,” said Eduardo Guerrero, a Mexico City-based security analyst. “If they don’t stop what is happening in Sinaloa soon, it will become unmanageable.”

      The federal government sent 1,100 soldiers to patrol the streets, and the army seized the weapons of Culiacán’s municipal police force, a move experts say reflects concern about collusion between the cartel and the local officers.

      While Mexico wants to pin the blame for cartel violence on U.S. gunmakers, it’s fueled, at least in part, by corruption at all levels of Mexico’s government, with officials diverting legally imported firearms meant for the military and police to the drug cartels. This isn’t exactly a new problem either. Sheryl Attkisson reported on the sale of the corruption for CBS News more than a decade ago.

      Selling weapons to Mexico – where cartel violence is out of control – is controversial because so many guns fall into the wrong hands due to incompetence and corruption. The Mexican military recently reported nearly 9,000 police weapons “missing.”

      Yet the U.S. has approved the sale of more guns to Mexico in recent years than ever before through a program called “direct commercial sales.” It’s a program that some say is worse than the highly-criticized “Fast and Furious” gunrunning scandal, where U.S. agents allowed thousands of weapons to pass from the U.S. to Mexican drug cartels.

      CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson discovered that the official tracking all those guns sold through “direct commercial sales” leaves something to be desired.

      One weapon – an AR-15-type semi-automatic rifle – tells the story. In 2006, this same kind of rifle – tracked by serial number – is legally sold by a U.S. manufacturer to the Mexican military.

      Three years later – it’s found in a criminal stash in a region wracked by Mexican drug cartel violence.

      That prompted a “sensitive” cable, uncovered by WikiLeaks, dated June 4, 2009, in which the U.S. State Department asked Mexico “how the AR-15” – meant only for the military or police – was “diverted” into criminal hands.

      And, more importantly, where the other rifles from the same shipment went: “Please account for the current location of the 1,030 AR-15 type rifles,” reads the cable.

      There’s no response in the record.

      Those direct commercial sales have continued since Attkisson’s report in 2011. According to the Center for International Policy, there were $732,771,037 in commercial sales to Mexico just in 2021. Given that Mexico only has two gun stores in the entire country, the vast majority of these sales were to the Mexican police and military, and we have no idea how many of those guns have been diverted to the cartels over the years.

      The decision to disarm the local police in Culiacán, however, shows the Mexican government is well aware of these diversions, even as it scapegoats U.S. gunmakers in their lawsuit. That litigation, backed by gun control activists here at home, also ignores the role that the “hugs, not bullets” strategy adopted by the Mexican government has played in empowering the cartels all across the country. Again, from the Times’ report:

      Under former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the government tried to avoid direct confrontations with armed groups in an effort to limit mass casualties. Ms. Sheinbaum, his protégé, has vowed to continue that strategy.

      “Entering with firepower would cause a war,” Ms. Sheinbaum said recently, adding that security forces must prioritize protecting civilians “but not generate more confrontation that causes more deaths.”

      Gen. Francisco Jesús Leana Ojeda, who until recently was head of the armed forces in Sinaloa, told reporters that the state’s security “doesn’t depend on us, it depends on the rival groups stopping their confrontations.” He was removed from his post this month, local media reported.

      Mr. Rocha Moya, the governor, distanced himself from the comments, which sparked outrage. “Obviously the state can’t just wait and see when they decide to stop,” he said.

      That may be obvious, but it’s also essentially how the Mexican government has operated under the AMLO regime, and new president Claudia Sheinbaum promises more of the same. It’s not the U.S firearms industry that’s aiding and abetting the cartels. It’s government officials in Mexico. Whether through the corrupt diversion of guns meant for the military and police or the “hugs, not bullets” approach to the cartels themselves, the blame for the cartel violence rests squarely on the inability and unwillingness of authorities in Mexico to get tough on the criminal syndicates.

  10. Recent Grizzly Bear Attacks Should Alarm Anti-gun Washington

    Another incident involving a grizzly bear attack in Montana should serve as a cautionary warning to people advocating for the reintroduction of grizzly bears into north-central Washington’s North Cascades region, but will anyone pay attention?

    CBS News reported a sow grizzly with two cubs was shot by a hunter she chased up a tree and was subsequently killed by personnel from the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) on Oct. 5. The incident happened in Gallatin County, and the hunter fired at the approaching bruin with a handgun before climbing to safety. The CBS report said he was hunting in the Hidden Lakes area.

    Nationally recognized self-defense expert Massad Ayoob has acknowledged during at least one Gun Rights Policy Conference that defending one’s self could involve wild animal attacks, and not just defense against criminals.
    Incidents such as this are worrisome to people living in the area where earlier this year, the Biden-Harris administration announced it was moving forward with a plan to reintroduce grizzlies, even against strong opposition from people living in the immediate area.

    The effort will take place over an extended period, with three to seven bears per year transplanted over the course of five to 10 years to establish a population of 25 bears, according to KCPQ News in Seattle, the local Fox News affiliate.

    The latest incident was preceded by September attack on a bowhunter in southeast Idaho’s Island Park area, just south of the Idaho-Montana border. In that incident, the hunter sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to NBC News, but he was bitten. The hunter and a partner both fired handguns at the bear, killing it. They called for help and the injured man was taken by helicopter to the hospital and treated.

    This past April, another man was hunting for antler sheds along Wolf Creek, north and west of Helena, when he had to fatally shoot a grizzly on private land, according to FWP. He encountered the bear, which reportedly charged at him from a distance of 20 yards, and he fired five shots from a handgun when the bear was between 30 and 10 feet away. The man was not injured, and FWP said he was not carrying bear spray. This bear was also a sow with a single cub, which was subsequently captured and taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center in Helena, with the intention of placing it in a zoo.
    According to the Daily Montanan, the latest grizzly incident was the first for October and the first killed since Sept. 19. It was also the 24th known human-caused grizzly death this year.

    As noted by the Outdoor Wire, FWP has advised hunters to:

    Carry bear spray and be prepared to use it immediately.
    Watch for and be extra cautious around bear sign, creeks and areas with limited visibility. Most attacks happen in surprise, close encounters.
    Hunt with a group of people. This can help you make localized noise to alert bears to your presence, and it may also increase your chances of survival in the event of a bear attack.
    Be aware that elk calls and cover scents can attract bears.
    Bring the equipment and people needed to help field dress game and remove the meat from the kill site as soon as possible.
    If you need to leave part of the meat in the field during retrieval, hang it at least 10 feet off the ground and at least 150 yards from the gut pile. Leave it where it can be observed from a distance of at least 200 yards.
    Upon your return, observe the meat with binoculars. Make noise while approaching the meat. If it has been disturbed or if a bear is in the area, leave and call FWP.
    Follow food storage orders from the applicable land management agency.

    So how does all of this figure in the Washington state controversy? Much of the area identified as the reintroduction zone is within the boundaries of the North Cascades National Park, and lands surrounding the park are primarily within the Okanogan-Wenatchee national forest. The area is popular for big game hunting, as well as summer hiking, backpacking, wilderness camping and trail riding.

    But local residents opposed to the project repeatedly warned proponents and the agencies involved that grizzly bears, just like other predators, do not stay put. They will roam all over the region, looking for food.

    Based on the recent experiences in Montana and Idaho, it is more than just conceivable that bear-human encounters will occur.

    Perhaps not surprisingly, bear advocates primarily live outside the region. Ranchers particularly are concerned because the area has a long history of cattle ranching, and they are worried about conflicts and losses.
    Some Evergreen State big game hunters are concerned that, over time, wildlife managers may start limiting hunting opportunities. The region is known for its mule deer hunting opportunities, but grizzly reintroduction—essentially in the wake of wolf reintroduction—is a major red flag because deer are the natural prey of predators.

    The CBS News report noted, “Multiple bear attacks have been reported in Montana in recent months…In mid-August, a three-year-old girl was attacked by a black bear while she was in a tent at a private campground just north of Yellowstone National Park. A bear believed to be involved was captured and euthanized hours after the incident.”

    This past July, a 72-year-old man killed a grizzly in Flathead County after it charged him while he was picking berries. That man was hospitalized after the attack, CBS News reported. FWP said the man was picking berries alone, and he also used a handgun to dispatch the attacking bruin.

    Publicizing these incidents may be criticized by bear proponents as fear mongering, but they happened, and to the people involved, they’re not just scary stories.

  11. Armed Criminal Demands Wallet And Cell Phone But Settles For Forever Nap

    911 calls rang out in the early morning hours of September 22nd reporting gunshots and a male seen lying on the ground in Henderson, Nevada, according to officials.

    If you need yet another eye-rolling reference to provide the next easily led automaton who questions why you need a gun, here’s one more for the dumpster fire. Now, you never really know what anyone is up to taking a stroll at 4 AM on a Saturday, but Henderson is Las Vegas adjacent and we all know that city never sleeps. Not to mention, this is America, and I’ll take a walk whenever I feel like it.

    While we should be able to take a walk, go to the grocery store or play with our children at the park without fear of violent criminals trying to ruin our day, it seems the powers that be are far too busy trying to restrict law-abiding citizens while all but giving license to those with total disregard for decency. Luckily, although Nevada is looking far too purple for my taste, it is still a state where gun laws are marginally decent, and carrying a gun is still a way of life for many.

    One such individual, our hero in this story, was enjoying those cool morning hours prior to the rise of the blistering desert sun when he was approached by an armed bad guy who demanded he turn over his wallet and cell phone. Having already decided, however, that playing the role of victim just wasn’t his thing, our hero was carrying his own firearm, which he used to politely decline the intrusive demands of our villain, shooting him dead on the spot. Okay, maybe it wasn’t so polite, but you have to admit it was effective, and who can honestly go without their cell phone these days for more than five minutes?

    When Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the 1000 block of Wellness Place, detectives on the scene were greeted by the only participant of the encounter who still had a heartbeat, a 33-year-old man who was unsurprisingly cooperative with authorities, as most in the 2A community tend to be.

    Officials have preliminarily determined that the man, fearing for his life, fired multiple rounds from his gun striking the unknown male assailant. Ever diligent, paramedics did attempt to save the suspect’s life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, with no other injuries to report.

    Carrying a firearm is a huge responsibility, one that we hope to never unholster. Being prepared and well-trained is a great idea, especially if you live in or around big cities, where violent crime is most prevalent. While an induced dirt nap can be unfortunate, for our shooter it is a fact that means he is still with us today to live his life and pursue his goals, quite how the Founding Fathers meant things to be.
