  1. Wouldn’t it be nice to live in boring times again? I’m nostalgic for boredom.

Remember when you watched the news or read a newspaper and you felt on top of things? Now, news two hours old trumps news just a day old.

Soon news will be subject to the five-second food rule. You can only eat it if you drop it on the floor and pick it up within five seconds. The world moves so fast.

After a long day’s work my father would come home and read the newspaper after dinner. That was in the 1970’s. When Walter Kronkite came on he stopped reading to smoke his Player’s filtered and watch. He trusted Walter to say the truth. America trusted Walter. Walter is dead.

Aloha Snackbar. Right. Well, God WAS geat until he blew my pecker off, says Mohammad, who now sits in the hospital suddenly thinking he can no longer enjoy his virgins unless they are extremely sympathetic. For him I reckon God is suddenly pretty so-so. Credit to Israel and this miraculous operation. I hear IDF soldiers now joke about the small caliber of incoming shrapnel.

I just don’t get why Bibi now wants to end cash. The timing of this is amazing considering Mossad has managed to freak out its enemies with almost supernatural sneakiness and cleverness. I mean, I bet Iran’s President is even afraid to pick up the phone and order pizza. I know I wouldn’t do it if I were him: “…Yes, I’d like an extra-large combo but hold the anchovies and the three grams of mysterious explosives, thanks.” I wouldn’t even make my own toast if I were him lest it pop up and blow off my friggin’ head. Hold the butter in that case, he’s thinking. Geeze whiz.

Israel now seems eager to be a world first to end cash just like it was eager to be first to line its people up for Covid mRNA injections. This move is being sold as a way to fight terrorism during war time, just as the injections were sold as a way to fight a generally-harmless virus. Two coincidences? Granted, this time Israel’s enemy is real, which only makes the excuse easier to deploy, because the elimination of cash is a huge deal, and is so obviously an authoritarian checkmate on its people. Eliminating the shekel note will eliminate Hezbollah? Right. Stick with your almost supernatural sneakiness and cleverness. We’ll call this “ASS and C” for quick-reference sake. (I hate acronyms. They’re so exclusionary.)

This puts little Israel at the tip of the globalist spear at least twice now. Why Israel?

In my own feeble mind every answer sounds feeble. I scratch in the dirt for answers and all I get is dirty. Does Klaus Slob think the Jews are the smartest, so if he targets Israel first and succeeds then the rest of us will follow more readily? Or is the Jewish superiority complex such a thing that it is somehow turned on itself? See? Dirty. But don’t get mad and don’t laugh about this superiority complex thing. It’s as real as veiled midwestern conservative-brand anti-Semitism, just hush-hush.

Or maybe Israel’s small size but oversized influence makes it an ideal petrie dish for broader implementations to come elsewhere. I wish I had answers that stopped me from wild speculation and conspiracy theories, but that’s on the powers that be for forcing plebes like me into this position. Stoking the information battlespace with bullshit tends to have that effect on people.

In fact, it got to the point during covid (isn’t it funny how we can say “during covid” and everyone understands what you mean, but say it five years ago even while explaining it and you be put in a rubber room) that we wondered if someone held a gun to the heads of Bibi, Orban and Trump in order to make them do what we all saw was so clearly wrong, but their families would be wiped out if they didn’t comply? Yes, I’m back to this silly square.

The U.S. election is mere weeks away. Trump assassination attempts now come with free popcorn. Jerome Powell just dropped the price of money in a brazen act of political felatio. Neocons are desperately trying to escalate the Uke war before the election (which shows they know they can’t control that outcome completely.) Israel is now pounding southern Lebanon so displaced Israelis can return to their northern homes. The CCP knows their enemy’s military, economic, and societal nadir is as close at hand as their own.

Iike I said, I’m nostalgic for boredom.

Here is a good communist speaking from his high moral ground. It’s easy for him to talk. He isn’t surrounded by savages.

  2. “Total disregard for human life”, coming from this smiling, bloviator is hilarious.

I remember years ago, Oprah telling her fans to give to her angel network — if you can only afford a dollar that is fine. But she gave her friends terribly expensive shoes and purses. Yes I know it is her money and she can do what she wants with it, but was I the only person that was discussed by her crassness? Shhh just do what I say, not what I do.

And then there was the time Oprah had Barack Obama on her show and told people he was one smart black man in her southern voice.

I am waiting for her to announce she has decided, because she has soooo many acres and two houses with lots of bedrooms, she is going to take in migrants and allow some to set up camp on her property. Just to show her compassion and love.

  3. (Richard: The reason for the upswing in firearms purchases is the massive violence spreading across the US, it has struck the big cities (Dem controlled more then Repub controlled) and is moving into the small cities. Hopefully it will be stopped before it spreads to the small towns, although it is unlikely to spread very far in the Middle of Missouri we don’t charge state income tax on Federal Pensions and a lot of Military personal retire to the middle of the state. Things are bad and getting worse, the left has defunded the police and driven the good people out of cities, right now they are charging the people who are defending themselves but this will change after civil law breaks down over a large portion of the world. The silver lining in this very dark cloud is that after civil law is re-established it will be impossible for the left to get people to give up the weapons they have used to protect their families and property.)

Report Claims Gun Ownership Rising Among Liberals

From the time of COVID-19 hitting American shores, people started buying guns and they haven’t really stopped. They might have slowed down here or there, but that’s not the same as stopping. The fact that COVID was followed by civil unrest and rampant violent crime probably hasn’t exactly dissuaded people from buying firearms.

And we also know that a lot of those guns are being bought by new gun owners.

Historically, gun sales have always been brisk, but a lot of them were reportedly bought by gun people who already had guns. As such, the number of gun owners didn’t increase, even as gun sales did.

That changed when people faced the uncertain future of a pandemic. The fact that popular culture made it seem like we were going to lose 90 percent of the population or something, coupled with alarmist public health officials seeming telling us the same thing probably didn’t help.

So it’s not surprising we got new gun owners.

And that’s actually continued, and according to a new report, it’s liberals that are buying a lot of them.

The Wall Street Journal reported this week that more and more liberals are buying guns, calling it a “surprising” trend among a group of voters that typically support restrictions.

For a piece published Thursday, the outlet looked at new gun ownership data and spoke to experts and several Democratic gun owners to understand what’s behind this trend.

“American gun culture has long been dominated by conservative, White men. Now, in a marked change, a burgeoning number of liberals are buying firearms, according to surveys and fast-growing gun groups drawing minorities and progressives,” The Wall Street Journal reported.

The Journal noted that Democrats have historically been gun owners, but started trending away from having firearms in the “early 90s” when “increasingly divisive political battles over the role of firearms in American society led the Democratic Party to become an advocate for gun regulation. Republicans became the party of gun rights.”

Now they are “rediscovering guns,” the piece noted, citing statistics showing that Democratic gun ownership is on the rise from record lows.

“Twenty-nine percent of Democrats or those leaning Democrat said they had a gun at home in 2022, up from a four-decade low of 22% in 2010,” the report said, citing a survey conducted by the University of Chicago’s NORC research group.

According to another set of numbers from the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions, of all the Democratic voters who bought guns after 2020, “more than half were first-time owners,” the piece stated.

Personally, I think this is good news.

See, every political party has to appease their base. They have to do this because of the primary system. They have to battle within the party before the move to the general election, which means they first have to cater to the demands of Democratic voters.

If those Democrats become gun owners and, as is the tendency, gun voters, it becomes a lot less palatable to push for gun control. See, I think the above piece gets the order wrong. I don’t think Democrats stopped owning guns because their party favored gun control, I think they started favoring gun control because they stopped owning guns.

So if they start owning them again, you’re going to see a lot less gun control. Further, what you do see will be a lot less onerous.

Right now, nearly a third of the party owns guns, and if they come to realize that a semi-auto ban won’t just impact AR-15s they don’t have any interest in owning but their Glock in the nightstand as well, suddenly they might find it a lot more problematic with their base.

The best way to keep gun control from passing is to see it become political suicide to even consider proposing it. No proposals, no gun control.

So yeah, I think this is good news. The trick is to teach those new gun owners about just how gun control will negatively impact them.
