Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. I am sincerely shocked that Israel is considering canceling the 200-shekel note, and is hoping to phase out cash altogether. Israel was at the forefront of medical guinnea piggery during the shamdemic, and now seems eager to be first to move cashless under the excuse of fighting terrorism. One would think that fighting terrorism best prioritizes freedom on display to the terrorists, rather than canceling a seminal feature of freedom–cash. Coincidence? I no longer believe in them much.

    Rafi speaks to this near the end of his vid. He also warns of a coming crash in metal prices. He’s not the only one, and I believe he is correct. However the crash will encompass all assets because we are in an everything bubble. Governments will then resume printing in high gear. Real money will recover quickly and accelerate up.

    Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has accused Tesla CEO Elon Musk of “remotely disabling” his Cybertruck, which had been sent to the frontline of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
    Kadyrov claimed Thursday that the vehicle, which he said had been outfitted with a machine gun and was “performing well in combat,” had been shut down, adding Friday that he had sent two additional Tesla Cybertrucks to the frontline.

    The Chechen warlord, known for his loyalty to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his active involvement in Russia’s ongoing military operations in Ukraine, shared footage of himself in August driving a Cybertruck and claimed it was a gift from Musk. In the video, a smiling Kadyrov was shown driving through an empty square in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, and thanking Musk for the vehicle “soon to be sent to the front.”
    Musk, however, firmly denied sending it. “Are you seriously so retarded that you think I donated a Cybertruck to a Russian general?” he wrote at the time on X, the social media platform he owns.
    Kadyrov repeated his claim earlierthis week as he lamented that the high-tech vehicle had to be towed from the battlefield, saying: “What Elon Musk did was not nice. He gives expensive gifts from the heart and then remotely switches them off.”

    Jerusalem’s Old City, in addition to Judea and Samaria, must be Judenrein within a year, according to a Palestinian-drafted resolution, which the U.N. General Assembly passed on Wednesday.

    The resolution, which passed by a 124-14 margin with 43 abstentions, is meant to give force to a July advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice, which declared Israeli presence to be illegal in any area over the 1949 armistice line.

    More than 40 countries sponsored the resolution, which was the first that Palestinians filed after being granted unprecedented privileges, for a non-U.N. member, earlier this year.

    The resolution calls on the Israel Defense Forces to withdraw completely from Judea and Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip within 12 months, which means evacuating all Jewish communities beyond the armistice line, including Jerusalem’s Old City.

    It also bans arms sales to the IDF of any equipment that would be expected reasonably to be used in the territory over the 1949 lines and calls for a boycott of all products produced by Jews in those areas.

    The resolution text lacks any mention of Israeli security concerns, historic ties to the lands or Hamas’s terror attacks in Israel on Oct. 7.

    The vote came after a day of debate on Tuesday.

    Argentina, Czechia, Fiji, Hungary, Malawi, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Tonga, Tuvalu and the United States joined Israel in opposing the resolution.

    Notably, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Ukraine and Australia were among those who abstained.

    General Assembly resolutions have no legal force, but the resolution’s passage on Wednesday is expected to be used in international courts and other fora to seek additional action against the Jewish state.

    It is widely expected that the Palestinians will request that the U.N. Security Council take up the issue. Security Council resolutions are binding, but the United States would be expected to thwart such an effort, including with its veto power.

    ‘Further fuel on worldwide antisemitism’

    Danny Danon, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, called it “a shameful decision that backs the Palestinian Authority’s diplomatic terrorism.”

    He added that the General Assembly “continues to dance to the music of the Palestinian Authority, which backs the Hamas murderers.”

    Before the vote, U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres told reporters he would back the implementation of the resolution should it pass.

    Seth Riklin and Daniel Mariaschin, president and CEO, respectively, of B’nai B’rith International, said the international nonprofit is “appalled” by the “atrocious” resolution.

    “B’nai B’rith International strongly condemns the U.N. General Assembly’s passage of the first resolution officially sponsored by Palestinians days after they became the first non-member state group further upgraded to many member state privileges at the U.N. General Assembly, despite the world body’s own rules and practices,” they said.

    “Coming from an assembly in which Arab and other pro-Palestinian governments wield an automatic majority to annually condemn Israel more than all other countries combined, the motion is unprecedented in its shamelessly one-sided endorsement of Palestinian claims and political demands, and further erodes the U.N.’s credibility as a serious contributor to promoting conflict-resolution and universal human rights,” they added.

    “Shame on all countries that enabled this atrocious affront to justice and peace as part of the latest UNGA ’emergency session’ on the Middle East that does nothing to help seriously address and settle the emergency,” Riklin and Mariaschin said.

    The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations condemned the “biased and dangerous” resolution strongly, Harriet Schleifer and William Daroff, chair and CEO respectively said. They called it “the latest salvo in an obsessive, decades-long campaign against Israel.”

    “Attempting to isolate Israel in this manner is undoubtedly a threat to her national security as she faces terror threats on all sides and offensive to her status as the only democracy in the Middle East and therefore cannot be accepted by the international community,” they added.

    Arsen Ostrovsky and Nadav Steinman, CEO and board chair, respectively, of the International Legal Forum, stated that “today, simply put, the United Nations has become the diplomatic arm of Hamas” and that the resolution “is just the latest in a litany of obscenely one-sided anti-Israel resolutions at the U.N. since Oct. 7.”

    “All it does is reward the murderers, rapists and abductors of Hamas while pouring further fuel on worldwide antisemitism and eroding whatever remaining credibility of the already problematic and politicized International Court of Justice, upon which this resolution is meant to be based,” they added. “Ultimately, peace will only prevail when Hamas is defeated and the hostages are released, not through tiresome antics and pyrrhic Palestinian ‘victories’ at the U.N.”

    No home in America is safe from criminals in Kamala Harris’s home state of California.

    Squatters have completely taken over a massive Los Angeles mansion in the posh neighborhood of Hollywood Hills, turning what was once a gorgeous house into a graffiti-ridden eyesore. Moreover, lawful homeowners in the area are being threatened by their unwanted new ‘neighbors,’ and some have already been harmed.

    As The New York Post notes, the graffiti ‘art’ features a grinning heart character “standing” the entire height of the home surrounded by “tags.” These are squatters’ names and initials sprayed on in different fonts and colors.

    Neighbors explained to NBC Los Angeles that the house has been vacant for approximately a decade, but squatters started moving in slightly less than two years ago. Then, over the last week, graffiti began appearing on the mansion.

    Below is a video report showing the devastation wrought by these leechers.

    One neighbor, Mateo Herrerros, told NBC Los Angeles that the squatters are now targeting other houses, and they feel threatened.

    “The guys who come tag, they’re tagging other houses on other properties,” Herrerros explained. “I couldn’t care less about this house. It’s an abandoned house. The owner doesn’t care about it. I don’t really care about it. It’s just the element it brings.”

    Another neighbor also revealed that residents are also under attack from unwanted squatters. For example, one of the squatters recently attacked a homeowner with a “steel rebar and beer bottle.”

    NBC Los Angeles reported on Friday that the LAPD has responded to incidents at the property four times in the last two days. WPVI revealed that police removed ten people on Wednesday and arrested one person on a warrant.

    But one neighbor said the police told them their hands were tied when it came to solving the squatter problem due to the actions of the absent homeowner.

    KTLA obtained a public records search showing that the home belongs to John Middleton, the son of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team owner. The outlet revealed that the search shows Middleton hasn’t paid taxes in years, and the property has a lien.

    NBC Los Angeles also revealed the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety declared the property a nuisance and ordered Middleton to build a fence and secure the property in Oct. 2022. He refused, so the city erected the fence instead.

    Middleton also reportedly owns another Hollywood Hills home that is also heavily targeted by squatters.

    Councilmember Nithya Raman called the house a “public safety issue” and demanded Middleton take action but refused to condemn the squatters in a statement released by her office:

    Our office has been in close contact with the Los Angeles Police Department as well as the Department of Building and Safety regarding the ongoing situation at 7571 Mulholland Drive. An abatement order was previously issued by DBS, and subsequently ignored by the property owner. While DBS secured the property with fencing, that security measure was breached.

    This owner is in egregious violation of the law and we are elevating the issue with the abandoned buildings unit at the Department of Building and Safety to ensure that the fullest extent of enforcement is being implemented urgently and swiftly. This is a public safety issue with serious consequences for both neighbors and the surrounding community. Irresponsible property owners like the one at 7571 Mulholland Drive must take accountability for their property or face action from the city.

    The Kremlin said Tuesday that an order by President Vladimir Putin to transform Russia’s army into the second largest in the world was needed to address growing threats on Russia’s western borders and instability to the east.

    Putin on Monday ordered the regular size of the Russian army to be increased by 180,000 troops to 1.5 million active service members in a move that would make it the second largest in the world after China’s.

    “This is due to the number of threats that exist to our country along the perimeter of our borders,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a conference call.

    “It is caused by the extremely hostile environment on our western borders and instability on our eastern borders. This demands appropriate measures to be taken.”

    Fears of violent crime and armed right-wing extremists have caused gun sales to shoot up among Democrats across the United States, according to a new report.

    After dropping during the 1990s, gun ownership among Democrats is on the rise, and gun groups composed of liberals and progressives are surging, the Wall Street Journal noted Thursday.

    A 2023 survey by the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions in Baltimore found that more than half of the Democrats who bought guns since 2020 were first-time buyers, compared with less than one quarter of Republicans.

    And a 2022 survey by NORC at the University of Chicago found that 29% of people who were registered Democrats or leaned Democratic said they had a gun at home, up from 22% in 2020.

    “It’s a group of people who five years ago would never have considered buying a gun,” Jennifer Hubbert, an anthropology professor at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, told the Journal.

    Hubbert, who last year received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to research liberal gun owners, said she found gay and transgender gun owners were worried about hate crimes, while Jewish people feared potential attacks by pro-Palestinian groups or individuals.

    Black gun owners said they were concerned about crime and mistrust of police in some areas.

    Gun sales in the U.S. totaled 15.9 million last year, the fourth-highest on record, and are expected to exceed that this year, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, an industry group.

    Lifelong Democrat and gun-control advocate Michael Ciemnoczolowski of Iowa City, Iowa, said he purchased a firearm for the first time this past summer, paying $600 for a Springfield 1911 handgun.

    Ciemnoczolowski, a 43-year-old liquor store clerk, told the Journal he acted to ensure his “personal safety,” citing concerns about street crime and domestic politics that have “grown increasingly acrimonious.”

    Randy Miyan told the Journal that he founded Liberal Gun Owners, which has 5,000 members, for people who don’t feel comfortable joining the conservative National Rifle Association or using message boards like AR15.com.

    “We have to have harbors and havens,” Miyan said.

    Tom Nguyen, 54, of Los Angeles, said he founded L.A. Progressive Shooters as a Facebook group in 2020 in response to social unrest, the COVID-19 pandemic and the election that year.

    “People were hungering for a space that was not this hyper-aggressive, male-dominated, toxic gun world,” he said.

    A certified firearms instructor, Nguyen offers beginner group classes that are booked through next year, according to the Journal.

    One student, Alejandra Mendez, 32, who’s married to a woman, said she took lessons from Nguyen after moving to a new neighborhood in 2019 because she was worried about antigay violence and crime in general.

    The healthcare worker now owns three handguns and an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, and called it hypocritical for progressives to support the constitutional right to free speech but not the right to own firearms.

    “I don’t understand that rhetoric of ‘protect my right’ and not protect the rights of other people,” Mendez said.

    During the Sept. 10 presidential debate, Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris surprised many viewers by saying that both she and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, were gun owners.

    Harris, a former prosecutor, doubled down on that remark during a Thursday campaign event with Oprah Winfrey, laughingly saying, “If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot.”

    “I probably should not have said that. My staff will deal with that later,” Harris added.
