Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (CO-03) and her Colorado colleagues sounded the alarm on escalating violence attributed to the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang, a Venezuelan criminal organization, in Aurora, Colorado.

    Boebert hosted a listening session to spotlight the breakdown of law and order caused by unchecked immigration and insufficient action by law enforcement.

    The roundtable, attended by residents and local leaders, revealed firsthand accounts of gang violence, the failure of sanctuary policies, and the impact of open borders on the community.

    Boebert condemned the lack of attention from media and political figures, stating, “The fake news and liberal politicians with an agenda continue to downplay the violence and Venezuelan gang activity in Colorado.”

    She accused officials of covering up the violence to maintain their narrative of open borders and sanctuary city policies. She emphasized that elected officials should unite to round up and deport these gang members and protect Coloradans from what she termed a “takeover” of local communities.

    The testimonies from residents painted a grim picture of the situation in Aurora. Cindy Romero, a former resident of the Edge at Lowry apartment complex, described the terror of living in a gang-controlled building.

    “I have cameras picking them up, moving the guns… I caught a screenshot of them holding a family on my floor by gunpoint,” she recalled. Romero explained that despite numerous calls to law enforcement, little action was taken. “I’ve got bullet holes in my car… I had to leave because I am not bulletproof.”

    Aurora resident and small business owner Chet Ellefson likened the conditions to those of a “Third World country,” with doors kicked in and rampant lawlessness.

    “There is no fear when it comes to the police,” Ellefson said, describing how even law enforcement hesitates to respond to calls in the area.

    Adding to the chorus of concerns, Aurora Council Member Danielle Jurinsky revealed that nonprofits, funded by state and Denver resources, have been placing migrants into unsafe living conditions in Aurora without adequate oversight. “No housing quality inspections were conducted… It’s primed for takeover,” Jurinsky noted.

    The event highlighted the inadequacy of current immigration policies. Former ICE Director Tom Homan blamed the Biden administration for releasing millions of immigrants into the U.S. without proper vetting, noting that “98% of the people being released [have] no data on them.”

    He further criticized sanctuary cities for providing safe havens for criminals. Homan’s sentiments were echoed by other speakers, including former ICE Field Office Director John Fabbricatore, who pointed to the high recidivism rate among criminal aliens.

    The roundtable also underscored the strained relationship between law enforcement and federal immigration authorities. State Senator Mark Baisley and State Representative Ron Weinberg are pushing to overturn laws that prevent local police from cooperating with ICE, arguing that the current restrictions allow violent criminals to remain in the country unchecked.

    As the crime wave grows, Aurora residents, law enforcement, and officials face increasing challenges. With tens of thousands of illegal immigrants entering the local Colorado region and local police stretched thin, the impact of this gang violence continues to ripple throughout the community. The testimonies offered during the roundtable are a stark reminder of the consequences of uncontrolled immigration, inadequate law enforcement response in sanctuary cities, and the complete and total failure of the Harris-Biden Administration to protect U.S. sovereignty and citizens.

  7. Attorneys General File Supreme Court Brief To Limit The ATF

    A coalition of 27 state Attorneys General has filed an amicus brief with the United States Supreme Court urging Justices to limit the Biden Administration’s ban on “ghost guns” through a “Frame or Receiver” rule proposed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The brief suggests, at best, that the ATF has overstepped its authority, and at worst that the agency is intentionally cooperating with the Biden Administration to evade the law by circumventing the legislative process. While the subject of the brief focuses on the proposed 2022 rule, broadening the definition of a “firearm” to include parts and parts kits that can be assembled into a functional firearm as well as partially complete, disassembled, or nonfunctional frames or receivers, the filing cites multiple examples outlining the overall unrestrained behavior of the ATF in recent years, including the failed overreach on bump stocks and stabilizing braces.

    In July 2023, Judge Reed O’Connor of the Texas-based U.S. District Court ruled that the ATF had overstepped Congress with the proposed “Frame or Receiver” rule by banning partially made guns, effectively classifying certain parts themselves as firearms. Following the ruling, the Biden administration requested the Supreme Court intervene after the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals declined to put O’Connor’s ruling on hold. In a 5-4 vote last August, the justices granted the Biden Administration’s request to temporarily allow the rule to stand while the challenge proceeded in the lower courts, with Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh dissenting to the decision.

    In November the “Frame and Receiver” rule was unanimously struck down by a 5th Circuit Court of Appeals three-judge panel that ruled the ATF was making laws rather than enforcing them, an action that, “exceeds the legislatively imposed limits on agency authority.” Predictably, the Justice Department appealed the decision and the Supreme Court agreed in April this year to consider the case for oral arguments. The matter will be one of the first cases before the Court when it returns for the fall term. The nine Justices set to hear arguments in Garland v. VanDerStok on Oct. 8.

    Manufacturers and gun rights supporters are challenging the regulation, citing the Biden Administration’s attempt to change a 50-year-old legal understanding with the intent to put kit and parts manufacturers and dealers out of business. Of course, such an intent would need to be weighed against the Bruen decision, which made clear the Supreme Court’s position that the constitutionality of gun laws will be based on whether the plain text of the Second Amendment protects the activities proposed for regulation, adding that the government must affirmatively prove that a firearm regulation is part of the historical tradition. In this case, the opposite is true, with the activity itself being the tradition.

    Citing a recent decision overturning the Chevron deference, which told courts to defer to agency interpretations of statutes when otherwise ambiguous legislation is passed by Congress, the coalition reminded the high court that the “ATF has a history of ignoring statutory text and APA mandates,” adding that “The Court should keep that history in mind when providing ATF with course correction here.”

    U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar warned that the result of the 5th Circuit ruling, if upheld, would be “a flood of untraceable ghost guns into our nation’s communities, endangering the public and thwarting law-enforcement efforts to solve violent crimes…Anyone could buy a kit online and assemble a fully functional gun in minutes — no background check, records or serial number required.” She added that it would effectively nullify parts of the 1968 Gun Control Act.

    West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey accused the Biden Administration of intentionally side-stepping the legislative process as an ongoing tactic.

    “Here again is an example of how the Biden administration uses bureaucratic agencies, this time the ATF, to act as legislators instead of enforcing the laws Congress passed,” he told the Washington Examiner.

    South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley targeted the ATF’s attempt to classify gun owners as commercial dealers.

    “Despite ATF’s position, not every law-abiding citizen handling a gun is a firearms dealer…A federal agency can’t make those decisions, and it’s time Congress addresses this ongoing infringement on the individual Second Amendment Right to Bear Arms,” he told the DRGNews.com.

    The coalition of states joining West Virginia in this legal challenge include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wyoming.

    If only we had a term for groups of people, who by the threat of force or punishment circumvent or break the law in order to impose their will on others. Oh wait, we do. It’s called a criminal organization. I know that seems harsh, but if the shoe fits… I can’t fathom the millions in tax dollars wasted in litigation simply because politicians and rogue agencies disagree with the law of the land and blatantly violate it with a “What’re you going to do about it?” attitude. A society should not have to spend their lives and their money suing the government over the rights that their elected officials are sworn to protect.

  8. I am watching the debate and so far I haven’t heard Kamala say one thing that is true, she is lying like a champ and smiling when she does it. Pray for the US in the coming election because things are getting very tense.

    • I think Trump won but not by as much as he should have, the left is going to claim that she won but really she lost.

      All of the good zingers were made by Trump, none by Kamala.

    Subterranean complexes have been used in combat for millenniums, but terrorist groups and rogue states are creating more sophisticated versions.

    A year into Israel’s fight against Hamas, it has become clear that the military “center of gravity” – the most important element of the conflict – is not the missiles or manpower of the terrorist group. Rather, it is the 400-plus miles of tunnels carved out under the Gaza Strip. From those tunnels, Hamas and its sponsor, Iran, were able to train, equip, organize and launch the horrific attacks of Oct. 7.

    The Israel Defense Forces have now publicly released a handbook captured from Hamas in 2019 that details how the group sought to maximize the lethality of capabilities it painstakingly built up underground and out of sight. The group trained forces to fight in the subterranean environment using cover of darkness, night-vision goggles, split-second timing, GPS trackers, elaborate camouflage and protective blast doors. Hamas troops managed to create an entirely different battlefield from the traditional fight above ground.

    It is easy to believe that Hamas did so in a burst of unique creativity, and that we are seeing the emergence of a new style of warfare. In fact, the use of tunnels in war has a long history.

    The question today is how the advent of cutting-edge technologies can enhance this ancient style of combat, presenting military planners with new challenges around the globe. Where are other deadly tunnel complexes? What should the US and its allies do to prepare?
