Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. It has been a beautiful summer. Any summer in Canada is beautiful, because the rest of the year can be so harsh. By mid-winter we wouldn’t mind a summer downpour one bit.

    Last weekend I went swimming. While treading water in the cold, spring-fed water it came to me that we are all swimming–flailing–in a lake of lies. Lake Lie. –A little alliteration always sounds clever. Clever is the problem, though. Cleverness abused means lies.

    • The radical left Deep Ecology movement wants to reduce the human population to under 500 million people, reducing the food supply so people starve is one of the methods they advocate.

        LOL I did read the “experts” say not to worry if your skin takes on a blue or green tinge from the weather modification peoplekind spraying silver oxide and God only knows what else. Your skin will remain that colour BUT it will not harm you, so THEY say. Geeeez all the trees are dying but ..,,.,,,,,,,.that may be from the salt mixture they use and vegetation will disappear, the kind the wildlife eat, they probably have to go too…….So in the Mad SCHWAB world it could get dusty, desert like and the remaining “little people” may be of different colours……

    Shamima Begum will not be allowed to challenge the removal of her British citizenship at the Supreme Court, judges have ruled.
    The 24-year-old hoped to overturn the government’s decision to revoke her citizenship on national security grounds after she travelled to Syria as a teenager to join the Islamic State group.
    Justices at the UK’s highest court said Ms Begum could not appeal against an earlier Court of Appeal ruling as the grounds of her case “do not raise an arguable point of law”.
    It was Ms Begum’s last chance to challenge the revocation of her citizenship within the UK legal system. But her lawyers told the BBC they would take the case to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
    Ms Begum, who left Bethnal Green, east London, with two schoolfriends in 2015, was later found in a Syrian refugee camp.
    She married an Islamic State fighter soon after arriving and went on to have three children, none of whom survived.
    Ms Begum was stripped of her British citizenship on national security grounds in 2019 by the then-Home Secretary Sajid Javid, leaving her unable to return to the UK.
    She remains in a camp controlled by armed guards in northern Syria.
    Last year, she lost her appeal against the decision to revoke her citizenship at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC).

  4. What’s to stop the EU from using the Ukraine to invade Slovakia or Hungary if the are kicked out of the EU? Hungary is part of NATO? So what? Twisted, yes, but if it can be imagined…

    Update Uke incursion into Russia. Again from yesterday the best take is that Z must show he is willing to spill blood in return for Western money. It doesn’t matter if what he does makes tactical sense. It is a money-laundering strategy.

    • Russians are furious with Putin, his geopolitical games seem more important to him than clearing out corrupt, incompetent, old-school officers. Prigozhin was right.

      The Almighty is warning Uncle Vlad against reinforcing the IRI with substantial weapons, training, and backup for its war against Israel. He should pay attention to The Message.

      There’s also cute hypocrisy: He said he decided to invade Ukraine to protect Russian speakers. Like it or not, the Tsar does what he feels is right.

      Israelis argue ~ major understatement ~ that Russia has been far better historically than Ukraine. Russia has quietly helped Israel by squashing certain nasty UN initiatives, especially during the reign of the Kenyan POTUS. He’d love to provide “refuge” for a young Russian-speaking population that might help fix the brain drain of Russkiy Mir.

      After Prez Z meets his Gaddafi climax, the joooz there will discover firsthand what happens to court joooz in knot-zee land. Asajews are discovering the same thing in Europe right now.

      I’m chilled reading poisonous pro-Russian alt-media and social media. Analysts I’ve followed closely for the last 2+ years have suddenly become experts on conflict in the Holy Land.

      Egregious lies, near-zero competence. Their knowledge of Ukrainian topography, weapons systems, and history is helpful, but it’s clear they’re paid to disseminate straight Russian govt propaganda. Pitched left and right

      My Russki – a former officer in the Soviet Army – and his friends at the local Orthodox Church have helped me sort things out. Both of his sons are military developers, as is my brother. So I know malicious fiction in this context when I see it.

          Some aren’t especially good, but their courage at such a sickening time might redeem them.

          Yeah, it’ll get worse everywhere, but Israel will serve as lab rat for response efficacy.

          I have zero sympathy for “free democratic” nations in Europe who are reverting publicly to their most base instincts. If I had the emotional energy, I’d be delighted to watch Ireland, the UK, Norway, and others taste what they’ve promoted for us.

          But I can’t be bothered.

    The ISIS teen who plotted a terror attack on a Taylor Swift concert has been pictured for the first time as neighbours say he completely changed his look recently.
    The 19-year-old ISIS fanatic has been identified as Beran A., who lived in a newly-built end-terraced house in Ternitz, nearly 50 miles south of Vienna, where he spent his childhood.
    A few years ago, Beran A.’s parents – who immigrated to Austria from North Macedonia – moved into a new-built house in the Neunkirchen district of Ternitz with him and his younger sister.
    Ternitz residents told local media that he used to be a ‘harmless boy next door’ in jeans and sneakers, who was born in Austria and attended a local school.

    But Beran A. had changed recently, according to his neighbours, coinciding with his pledge of allegiance to ISIS in early July. He grew a long beard and was often spotted wearing a long-sleeved cotton shirt, with a new picture of him showing him posing with huge zombie knives and an ISIS flag.
    The 19-year-old was arrested in Ternitz, south of Vienna, Wednesday morning while a second teen, aged 17, was detained in the Austrian capital in the afternoon, according to director-general for public safety Franz Ruf.
    Taylor Swift was due to perform in front of an estimated 170,000 fans on August 8, 9, and 10 at Vienna’s Ernst-Happel-Stadion, but the shows were cancelled last night.
    Beran A. and his accomplice had planned to attack Swift’s concert venue by driving into the crowd outside at 4pm today before attacking them with knives and machetes and detonating a suicide bomb.
    Resident Mara T. told Austrian outlet Kurier that she had last seen the terror suspect on Tuesday morning, adding: ‘He looked like how you would imagine a sleeper agent for a terrorist cell.’
    Another neighbour, Nicole, said the family was ‘inconspicuous and quiet’ and that they didn’t cause any problems. She said that Beran A.’s mother speaks German ‘very well’, but that the father’s language skills were not as good.
    Nicole said the family even helped her clear away debris thrown against her terraced house during a storm.
    But not everyone had such a positive experience with the family, as neighbours Mara T. and Dieter S. reveal.
    They said they got into arguments with Beran A.’s family when loading and unloading their car in front of their neighbour’s house.
    Until two weeks ago, Beran A. had worked in the same stainless steel plant in Ternitz as his father.
    He was doing an apprenticeship as a retail salesman in the factory, where he had access to the plant’s laboratory, including various chemicals.
    Behind the bright white walls of the family home in Ternitz, bomb disposal experts secured chemicals to produce the explosive triacetone triperoxide (TATP), which Beran A. – who is said to be the mastermind behind the plot – is said to have already experimented with.
    TATP is often used by ISIS in terror attacks and requires acetone as well as hydrogen peroxide, which officials confirmed was found in the house.
    The head of the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence, Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, said Beran A. was ‘clearly radicalized in the direction of the Islamic State and thinks it is right to kill infidels’.
    Beran A.’s parents and sister are currently on holiday in North Macedonia, but police is expected to question the parents over their son upon their return.
    Beran A. has been arrested alongside a 17-year-old. The suspects – who allegedly radicalised themselves online – took ‘concrete preparatory actions’ for an attack – with Beran A. ‘focused’ on Swift’s Vienna concert, Ruf confirmed.

    Friends of one of the suspects arrested for the foiled ISIS attack at a Taylor Swift concert were reportedly hired as security guards and stewards for the show.
    The alleged associates were hired by a security company and by a stewarding service to help with the setup for Taylor’s Vienna show. Two men were arrested after plotting to carry out a terror attack at the concert.
    A 19-year-old Austrian citizen was initially arrested before a second suspect was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon. The men were alleged to have been planning an attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium when Taylor was set to perform three sold-out shows on her Eras Tour from Thursday to Saturday.
    The people allegedly hired as security guards and stewards were said to be friends of the 19-year-old man who has been arrested, according to Kurier. The 19-year-old man who has been arrested had been living with his parents in Ternitz, a province in Lower Austria near Vienna. The second man currently remains unidentified.

  11. Nixon got boned

    Friday marks the 50th anniversary of one of the darkest days in American politics — the day when the FBI and the rest of the deep state overthrew the duly elected government of President Nixon by forcing him to resign in a scandal designed by the FBI and promoted by the Washington Post.

    The cover up was worse then the crime, because there really was no crime. Thus in less than two years, the deep state overturned the biggest Electoral College victory in 152 years.

    Nixon’s 520-17 win in 1972 was bested only by James Monroe and George Washington; both were unanimous choices although one of Monroe’s electors in the Electoral College defected to allow Washington to be the only unanimous choice.

    Nixon won the popular vote 60.7% to 37.5% over George McGovern. Only Lyndon Baines Johnson’s 61.1% to 38.5% win over Barry Goldwater eight years earlier topped that, and then only because of the Kennedy assassination a year earlier.

    The deep state won by turning an insignificant incident in the campaign into a scandal. Mark Felt of the FBI and others fed information to the media, which agreed to never name them. That allowed them to never be held accountable for their actions. They never had to answer tough questions thus history can gloss over the motives of the deep state.

  12. Obama finally reveals his agenda

    Greetings from Barack Obama 2007. That’s me in the white shirt in the photo announcing my entry into the presidential race in front of the statue of Superman in Metropolis, Illinois. I know the photo looks pretty gay, but remember, I only imagine having sex with men. Daily. As I wrote to a girlfriend in 1982:

    In regard to homosexuality, I must say that I believe this is an attempt to remove oneself from the present, a refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life. You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination.

    So don’t believe the Fake News that I am secretly gay. I just imagine it.

    OK, that came from my publicist in 1991. It’s not as if I could have read it and had it corrected. Actually I did have it corrected — in April 2007, two months after I announced I was running for president and needed to be born in the USA.

    In 2007, things are going well for me. My main opponent is Hillary Clinton, a drunk, dried up old lady who turns off half the country. People say I should wait my turn but sometimes you get only one chance.

    Besides, she’s such a loser that anyone could beat her. Even that Donald Trump.

    I really hate that guy. I wish he would run for president because I know I would beat him, too. We would have socialism if not for that pesky Donald Trump. As I wrote in law school:

    (Americans have) a continuing normative commitment to the ideals of individual freedom and mobility, values that extend far beyond the issue of race in the American mind. The depth of this commitment may be summarily dismissed as the unfounded optimism of the average American — I may not be Donald Trump now, but just you wait; if I don’t make it, my children will.

    As I seek the presidency, my plan is to feed that unfounded optimism of the average American in any way I can. I will be as opaque as possible while offering nothing more than a childish catchphrase. My main message is Yes We Can — a slogan stolen from a children’s show, Bob the Builder. That shows the intellectual level of the average Democrat voter.

    I do have one issue: Obamacare. Proposing to have the government take over the health industry is a delicate matter but I am up to it. I plan to make it appear as if the government’s only interest will be to magically make it easier and cheaper to get health insurance. To assuage fears that the government will take over your health care, I have a rebuttal: You Can Keep Your Doctor!

    OK, it is not Bob the Builder level Pablum for the brain but it is almost as simplistic. And best of all, it is totally untrue because doctors change jobs all the time. Besides, most people don’t really have a doctor.

    But you can keep your imaginary doctor in your imagination. Daily.

    People say I don’t have foreign experience but I have what I call mud hut diplomacy having visited one in Kenya — where I wasn’t born.

    This means I will do things that only an idiot chieftain in a mud hut would do. I would reverse the war on terrorism by encouraging the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood and a junior varsity of al-Qaeda to turn the Middle East into a chaotic mess of civil wars that will lead to refugees who will swarm Europe. Maybe I’ll even start a war to help create more Muslim refugees.

    Those EU idiots will welcome them with open arms because no one wants to be accused of being Islamophobic. So what if they rape, maim and kill the natives? Nobody said an invasion was a pleasant experience.

    America is being invaded, right? No one outside of hellholes like Texas care. The illegal aliens (we need to come up with a better phrase, perhaps migratory humans) provide an opportunity to virtue signal, which always makes rich people feel superior.

    They made Martha’s Vineyard a sanctuary — as if any illegal alien would ever go there. New York, Chicago and other places far from the border are following suit because it is such a safe way of sounding benevolent.

    As for the rest of the world, I imagine a diplomacy that gives people what they want without demanding anything in return. That means recognizing Cuba without bothering to have them do anything in exchange. Likewise, I can lift sanctions and unfreeze the shah’s assets and give the billions to Iran without demanding something as droll as stopping its nuclear program.

    That foreign stuff is really not my bag, as it were. My plans for fundamentally changing America are far better. I plan to work with Democrats mayors across this great land to turn cities into open drug markets with walking zombies who live in pup tents. San Francisco has a really great idea of letting people poop in the street.

    This cannot be done overnight. This plan will take almost a generation, beginning with my election. In fact it may take three or four terms so when my eight years are up, I will pick some rummy to continue my plan.

    A key part is to replace law and order with a fairer system based not on tending the needs of the individual victim but society in general. This means rethinking crime. I am inspired by a song by the Rolling Stones. I conveniently forgot the name of it, but it said, “Just as every cop is a criminal/ And all the sinners saints.”

    That means a president must lead the way in discrediting city cops. One way would be for me to say of a thug who killed after he attacked a man that if I had a son, he would look just like that thug. It is a dream of my fatherhood.

    My mission is to turn the American dream on its head. This is just an extension of pushing aside the happy homemaker of the 1950s in favor of overworked women who have to be both a father with a job and a mother making a home for children who spend way too much time playing video games.

    Those were just Acts I and II. The third act will be to transform those children into deformed, sexless beings. I plan to lift the ban on transgender surgery and open it up to kids. Children’s hospitals across the country will open clinics and rake in the tax-free bucks. I can imagine what wild rationalizations they will use for butchering kids.

    But the trannies also will be able to wreck women’s sports and end the safety of powder rooms by forcing people to accept as a woman any man who claims to be a woman, no matter how hairy he is.

    It seems illogical here in 2007 when domestic violence is so taboo, but if the upending of every norm we have goes as planned, someday men beating women will be an Olympic sport.

    You see, we have to wreck America — destroy all hope — before we can install the socialism that we desire. We have to stop people from striving to be Donald Trump in favor of being part of their tribe, be it black or brown, female or gay man, Muslim or atheist. Straight white Christian straight men need not apply.

    Now if you will excuse me, it is time for my daily making love to men, but in the imagination only, which makes it OK.
