Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  3. Studying the bible with fresh eyes is a way to preserve the best of the West.

    Unfortunately, the greatest incentive for atheism in the West has been Christians.
    But, some people still thirst for Jesus even though they reject Christianity, and their thirst is quenched by reading the bible. It may seem sad that churches are closing and beautiful cathedrals are standing empty, but the truth is some people are turning to reading the bible for themselves instead of letting someone else interpret it for them. There are vitally important truths in the scriptures that ministers never talk about. Like a veil, the Christian narrative obscures the reading of the text and the message of Jesus.

    The church initially never wanted the people to have bibles to read in their own language. William Tyndale, who translated the first English language bible, was charged with heresy, hunted down and killed by the church for the crime of making bibles. He was the Julian Assange of the 16th century.

    Studying the bible with fresh eyes is a way to preserve the best of the West.

      Joe Biden denied he issued an official proclamation last week declaring March 31–Easter Sunday–Transgender Day of Visibility.

      “NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility,” the White House declared on Good Friday. “I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.”

      Biden also banned any Christian-themed designs from being submitted to the White House’s Easter-themed art contest.

      This is even though Easter is a Christian holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

      Real Clear Politics’ Philip Wegmann said in an X post Monday, “‘I didn’t do that,’ Biden said when asked about proclaiming Easter Sunday ‘trans day of visibility.” Asked about Speaker Johnson’s claim otherwise, the president replied, ‘he’s thoroughly uninformed.’”

  8. UC Berkeley Accused of ‘Systemic Racism’ for Allegedly Banning White People from California Community Farm Co-Owned by University

    The Gill Tract Community Farm, which is co-owned by the University of California- Berkeley, has allegedly banned White people from their farm on Saturdays, designating the day exclusively for use by ‘Black, Indigenous, and People of Color’ (BIPOC).

    A complaint was filed with the US Department of Education by the Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF), with some criticizing the move as an example of ‘systemic racism.’

    According to their website,” The UC Gill Tract Community Farm is a collaborative community project between the University of California Berkeley and the local community, focused on issues of food justice and urban farming. It is located in Albany, CA, at the corner of San Pablo Ave and Marin Ave. It is an urban farm where you can come and harvest food for yourself and your family in exchange for help with weeding, planting, and watering. It also hosts a sliding-scale farmstand and partners with several East Bay community organizations and food pantries to distribute fresh organic produce to those who lack access to it.”

    William Trachman, general counsel for MSLF, told The New York Post, “UC-Berkeley thinks that racial segregation is progressive now, but it’s no different than segregation of the past.”

A barge struck bridge support in Oklahoma yesterday, contrary to what is now being reported on some normally reliable websites the bridge didn’t collapse, the bridge was closed for about 4 hours while the supports were examined and the damage was discovered to be minor scratching of the concrete. I posted this on the blog yesterday but today other sites are showing pictures of a 2020 bridge collapse and saying it was yesterday

    President Biden has signaled to the world that America is weak. With feckless leaders like Vice President Kamala Harris and cabinet Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas joining him, it is no wonder that Biden’s resolve is being tested by our adversaries.

    Catherine Herridge, a former senior investigative reporter for CBS News, lit up the interwebs in December with an ominous prediction. Herridge stated, “I just feel a lot of concern that 2024 may be the year of a black swan event. This is a national security event with high impact that’s very hard to predict.”

    She is not alone in her thinking. “Black swan” is becoming more and more probable with each passing day that the Biden administration projects weakness. Even the intelligence community is alert to the prospects that a crisis may be coming to America.

    As the probabilities increase, the anticipation grows with regard to financial collapse, widespread cyberattacks or a Deep State declared “national emergency”. Toss in the fact that it’s an election year, and the conditions are indeed suitable for a black swan event.

    The Biden administration’s flawed policies have led to the atrophy of American muscle. Our military is wasting away under the strain of DEI initiatives that divert vital resources away from lethality. Our strategic petroleum reserves have been depleted.

    The border is open to terrorists, foreign military-age males and the dregs of other societies. The once vibrant Trump economy is spiraling downward due to record inflation, and out-of-control government spending.

    Sadly, the far left is not solely to blame. Weak-kneed Republicans, who campaigned as conservatives, are refusing to engage in the fight to prevent the radical transformation of America. Just last Friday for example, 101 Republicans joined autocratic Democrats to pass a $1.2 trillion omnibus package that funds the very programs at the core of dismantling our Constitutional Republic.

    As sharks prey on America’s exceptionalism, Washington politicians continue adding chum to the waters. Their actions leave Americans pondering how to respond to the potential crisis looming on the horizon.

    In the event that a black swan event occurs, it is imperative not to surrender an ounce of freedom or liberty to the demands of an authoritarian regime. The most egregious example of government over-reach in our lifetime occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic when Americans yielded their personal liberty to mandates imposed by government bureaucrats.

    Following the fall of the old Soviet Union, freedom was crowding out tyranny in Russia. Seizing his moment to take control, Vladimir Putin orchestrated a black swan event under the guise of protectionism.

    Putin told the Russian people, “Give up your freedom to me, and I will use my power to keep Russia safe.” Nearly Twenty-five years later, the Russian people remain subservient to the dictates of their iron-fisted President.

    Now is the time to stand firm against tyranny, not after its tentacles have inserted their influence in every aspect of a free society. It is incumbent upon each of us to remain vigilant against impending danger by recalling who we are as a nation, founded by scrappy underdogs that defeated an army of imperial force.

    The American people today are yearning for leaders who offer hope amidst the decay brought on by high energy prices, skyrocketing inflation and unending conflicts across the globe.

    Leading America through the coming crisis will require a statesman like Ronald Reagan, a warrior like Dwight Eisenhower, a patriot like Abraham Lincoln or a visionary like George Washington. Each of these leaders had an unwavering determination to press on against the winds of adversity in order to do what was necessary to preserve our Republic.

    Courageous leaders often emerge during moments of great need, stress, or danger. I have seen leaders arise from the unlikeliest of candidates when pressed against insurmountable odds during combat situations.

    It is incumbent upon all of us to lead where we are planted; reinforce family values and strengthen our communities. These are the building blocks of America, not edicts from Washington. Get involved and remain focused on the traditional values that are the cornerstone of our Constitutional Republic.

    Don’t ever lose heart. In the face of a black swan, history is on our side. We’ve met and conquered seemingly insurmountable challenges before, and I believe we will do it again.

    The daughter of the judge overseeing Donald Trump’s hush money trial has helped her Democratic clients raise a staggering $93 million off her father’s case, The New York Post has revealed.

    Loren Merchan, the daughter of Justice Juan Merchan of Manhattan Supreme Court who is overseeing Trump’s case, is the president of Authentic Campaigns, a Chicago-based left-wing political consulting firm. Some of its highest profile clients include California Rep. Adam Schiff and the Democratic-aligned Senate Majority PAC.

    Both Schiff and the Senate Majority PAC have raised $93 million as clients of Merchan’s firm and are even using the politically driven case in fundraising emails.

    “It is a somber moment, and unprecedented for a former president to be indicted, but his alleged offenses are also unprecedented,” Schiff wrote in an email to supporters. “Trump will respond as he always does — playing the victim and blaming others for having the temerity to investigate him in the first place.”

    Scotland’s fascist “hate crime” law has gone into effect today, meaning the government will be able to freely prosecute individuals they deem to be running afoul of the rules.

    The bill, approved by the country’s Muslim and openly anti-white First Minister Humza Yousef, represents one of the broadest and most shameless crackdowns on free speech in the Western world:

    The Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act came into force on Monday 1 April and aims to provide greater protection for victims and communities. It consolidates existing legislation and introduces new offences for threatening or abusive behaviour which is intended to stir up hatred based on prejudice towards characteristics such as age, disability, religion, sexual orientation and transgender identity.

    The new provisions add to the laws on the statute book for race, which have been in place UK-wide since 1986. Sex has been omitted from the act as a standalone bill designed to tackle misogyny is expected to be laid before the Scottish parliament at a later date.

  15. Tennessee Senate Passes Bill Prohibiting Vaccines in Food, Awaiting Governor’s Signature

    A landmark decision was made in the Tennessee Senate on Thursday as lawmakers passed HB1894, a bill that would redefine the term “drug” within the state’s legal code to include food products containing vaccines or vaccine materials.

    The bill now awaits the signature of Governor Bill Lee (R-TN), WSMV reported.

    The legislation comes amid concerns from Republican lawmakers about the potential for vaccines to be incorporated into food supplies. The bill specifically targets research that explores the possibility of embedding vaccines into food items, which has been a subject of discussion in scientific circles.

    During the discussion in the Senate, proponents of the bill cited research from the University of California Riverside (UCR), where scientists have been investigating the feasibility of using edible plants, such as lettuce, as vehicles for mRNA vaccine delivery.

    Is this an April Fool’s Day joke? While Democrats have spent the better part of the last six months insisting that President Biden is a well-oiled galaxy brain behind closed doors, the POTUS clearly can’t keep up with his marxist handlers.

    Point in case, when asked about proclaiming Easter Sunday “trans day of visibility,” Biden flat out denied it.

    “I didn’t do that,” Biden reportedly said when asked about the proclamation, RealClear Politics’ Philip Wegmann reports.

    When asked about Speaker Johnson’s claim that he had, Biden replied, “he’s thoroughly uninformed.”

    Gabbard’s Change of Heart; Blows Whistle on Capitol Hill Gun Grabbers

    While the leftwing media is portraying former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard’s interview with Donald Trump, Jr. on his March 11 “Triggered” podcast as “groveling” to become former President Trump’s 2024 running mate, they are—perhaps deliberately—avoiding another part of that interview like the proverbial plague.
    It was when Trump, Jr. touched on the Second Amendment that Gabbard, who left the Democratic party after leaving Congress and became something of a regular on Fox News, unloaded on Capitol Hill anti-gunners and the Biden-Harris administration.

    The 3-minute, 51-second segment saw Gabbard first explain her childhood growing up in Hawaii—“Probably one of the most restrictive states for gun ownership in the country”—and her later experiences serving in the military to detail how her early views toward gun ownership were shaped.

    Gabbard left Congress in 2021 following her unsuccessful run for the 2020 presidential nomination.

    But the, she recalled how her attitudes changed after being on the campaign trail mounting a long-shot effort to gain the Democrat nomination. It is not the kind of narrative her former anti-gun Democrat colleagues want anyone to hear.

    “I’ve got to tell you,” she told Trump, Jr., “as time went on and I spent a lot of time, especially over my campaign for president and the year since, with a lot of folks in New Hampshire and Iowa and different parts of the country, who had a very different experience than I did growing up.”

    “They raised a lot of concerns about, around some of the things that throughout my time in Congress had all been coined as ‘well this is common sense gun safety laws. This is well-intentioned, in order to try to make sure that our communities are safe,’” Gabbard continued. “That’s a pretty compelling argument. But as with many things in Washington, as you know well, once you start peeling back the surface, you can understand that for a lot of folks who are using those words, they don’t have good intentions at all.” Then she lowered the proverbial boom.

    “Their real objective is to try to get rid of the Second Amendment and take away our right to own firearms,” she detailed, “and our rights to defend ourselves, and even more pointedly, especially where we are now and where the Biden-Harris administration has taken us, our Founders intended the Second Amendment to be a check on the abuse of power by a tyrannical government.”

    Gabbard’s remarks are quite a shift from when she was running for the presidency four years ago, but since then, her high-profile departure from the Democratic party, coupled with frequent criticisms of Democrats on Capitol Hill and the Biden-Harris administration, reflect something of an epiphany for the former Aloha State congresswoman.

    As she continued explaining her dramatic change of course on the Second Amendment, Gabbard told Trump, “When you look at what the Biden-Harris administration has done, where they’re using the power of our law enforcement at county, state and federal level in different ways, using the power of the Department of Justice, the power of the National Security state, against American citizens…where they have no issue of using the secret FISA court to surveil Americans, illegally without a warrant, they have no issues siccing the FBI or other law enforcement agencies against American citizens who’ve done nothing wrong other than exercise their right to free speech, so over time my increased understanding, my being able to have some great and honest conversations with Americans who cherish our freedoms, who cherish the Second Amendment, helped me better understand what it really meant.”

    Gabbard revealed she and her husband “are gun owners and recently competed in the Tactical Games for the first time. I appreciate and respect every American’s right to own a gun or not to own a gun.”

    While many responses to the interview show skepticism toward Gabbard’s change of heart, some of her remarks are the stuff of which campaign advertising is made, not by her, but perhaps by Republicans running for office this year who want to portray Democrats as dismissive of civil rights, especially the right to keep and bear arms.

    In a victory nine years in the making, Governor Brad Little yesterday signed H0620, Knife Rights’ bill that will enact Knife Rights’ signature Knife Law Preemption in Idaho. It becomes effective on July 1st, 2024. Thanks to Governor Little for his support of our freedoms.

    This represents the fourteenth state in which we have eliminated local ordinances more restrictive than state law which only serve to confuse or entrap law-abiding citizens traveling within or through the state. Preemption ensures citizens can expect consistent enforcement of state knife laws everywhere within a state.

    Again, we sincerely appreciate Representative Jordan Redman’s hard work to introduce and pass H0620. Thanks also to Senator Carl Bjerke who so ably advocated on behalf of the bill on the Senate floor.

    Knife Rights passed the nation’s first Knife Law Preemption bill in Arizona in 2010 and has since passed preemption bills in Alaska, Georgia, Kansas, Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and now, Idaho.

    Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador thinks he can do no wrong. After all, U.S. federal courts are turning over sovereignty to the Mexican head of state at the same time he’s issuing ultimatums to the United States and thumbing his nose to Texas.

    U.S. District Judge Rosemary Marquez, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, ruled that a lawsuit brought by the Mexican government against five Arizona-based firearm retailers can proceed. Mexico claims these firearm retailers are facilitating illegal firearm trafficking to Mexico. There’s no evidence of this. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) would have shut these businesses down if there was. Of course, gun control groups backing Mexico’s claims are crowing over the development.

    That’s on top of the $10 billion lawsuit Mexico is also bringing, with the backing of U.S. gun control groups, against U.S. firearm manufacturers. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit revived that case in January after a lower court dismissed the claims.

    The irony is Mexican President López Obrador is issuing a list of demands to the United States and telling a U.S. court in the State of Texas law to fight illegal immigration would impinge on Mexico’s “sovereign right” to decide who enters the country.

    The irony is rich, if not absurd. Mexico is running roughshod on America’s sovereignty in American courts because it refuses to enforce its own gun control laws on their side of the border. At the same time, President López Obrador is shaking down not just U.S. firearm manufacturers for $10 billion, he’s demanding $20 billion in what can only be described as “patronage fees” to Latin American countries. He also wants work visas for 10 million illegal immigrants, an end to U.S. sanctions in Venezuela and a halt to the blockade of Cuba.

    The arrogance is astounding but it is being backed by weak U.S. responses and kowtowing by U.S. courts to Mexico. President López Obrador is a head-of-state only because he’s working hand-in-glove with the narco-terrorist drug cartels that are the scourge of Mexico. He refuses to confront those cartels, which are facilitating illegal firearm trafficking. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency uncovered “substantial evidence” that drug cartels funneled $2 million to his campaign and that it was impossible to divorce government officials from criminal cartels.

    U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is demanding answers from 16 federal law enforcement agencies over a secretive Project Thor, that was designed to disrupt those known networks. It was working, until the ATF pulled the plug – at the same time Mexico brought their claims against U.S. firearm manufacturers.
    Weakness Invites Arrogance

    The Biden administration’s response to this shakedown was anemic. Fox News reported a Biden administration official said President López Obrador “has a very ambitious agenda.” That official added that Congress would need to act to acquiesce. The response should have been an outright rejection.

    President López Obrador was equally flippant to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s law to force illegal immigrants to return to Mexico or face criminal charges.

    “The Texas governor acts that way because he wants to be the Republican vice presidential candidate and wants to win popularity with these measures,” said President López Obrador, according to Fox News. “He’s not going to win anything. On the contrary, he is going to lose support because there are a lot of Mexicans in Texas, a lot of migrants.”

    The Mexican president’s arrogance is being placated by the Biden administration. President Joe Biden’s administration is using a “whole-of-government” approach to attack the firearm industry and Second Amendment rights. His ATF has been issuing rules that carry criminal punishments, even though that’s the responsibility of Congress. His Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) “paused” firearm exports for 90 days but that pause continues well past 150 days with no end in sight. He installed gun control lobbyists in The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention that appear to be colluding with Chicago to bring frivolous lawsuits against Glock.
    Placating Cartels

    All the while, there is no answer from the Biden administration why it stopped efforts to disrupt Mexican drug cartels illegally funneling guns south of the border. No answer has been offered for why this administration refuses to close the U.S-Mexico border when it is known that firearms are being illegally trafficked, human smuggling is becoming a multi-billion dollar narco-terrorist funding source, illicit drugs are flowing into the United States and U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies are telling Congress and the Biden administration that there are “blinking lights everywhere” warning that the United States is exposing itself to terror attacks. Just this week, the U.S. Border Patrol chief warned terrorists may be crossing the border, after the U.S. saw the reach of ISIS-K attacks in Moscow.

    President López Obrador is scoffing at the United States. He is twisting U.S. law, trampling U.S. sovereignty and claiming the United States can’t enforce their own laws because it would offend Mexico. The Biden administration and U.S. courts are giving him the stage to do it.

  23. CIVILIZATION’S THIN VENEER: Haiti Has Fallen, Cannibal ‘Barbeque’ Now in Charge

    Haiti hasn’t always been a completely disorganized craphole. For now though, the Caribbean island nation shows us a real-time example of just how the veneer of civilization is thinner than most people think. With a bona fide cannibal gang leader now in charge, thugs with guns are the law. Given the very unstable nature of daily life, how long will it take for a massive flotilla of boats full of illiterate Haitians to head for America?

    No doubt the criminal class in Haiti, not wanting to get cross with the new Head Cannibal in Charge, will be first to leave. The noble concept of women and children first? Not among the criminal class.

    Unlike the Haitians who live a largely a hand-to-mouth existence (median income about $1,600) in their third-world hell hole, America has a Constitution that recognizes our God-given right to keep and bear arms. Having an armed populace tends to act as a check and balance against tyrannical leaders who dine on their enemies and thugs with guns running the streets.

    Moreover, for those Americans who own firearms and know how to use them, we don’t have to worry so much about becoming unarmed victims of illegal alien bad guys bringing their criminal gang habits with them. Instead of cowering on their knees and begging for mercy from criminal thugs, the gun owner can shoot them. Most people, including criminals, prefer not to be shot and try to avoid it.

    Those who don’t own guns in America? Now might be time to reconsider their love of gun control and embrace personal defense, and responsibility, instead. After all, a stern word goes a lot further when it’s backed up by deadly force.

    For those who only trust the science: it’s scientifically proven that criminals commit fewer crimes after they’ve been shot.

    Our message to the non-gunowners of America: you don’t have to live and die as a defenseless victim. Empower yourself. Get informed. Become a gun owner.

  24. DEVELOPING: Driver Rams Vehicle Into Front Security Gate at FBI HQ in Atlanta (VIDEO)

    A male driver rammed a vehicle into a front security gate at the FBI’s Atlanta headquarters on Monday.

    The unidentified suspect was taken into custody. The motive for the crash is not known at this time.

    According to reports, the suspect tried to follow another vehicle through the gate when a barrier gate popped up to stop him.

    Authorities are considering state and federal charges against the suspect, according to ABC News.

    Bomb technicians were deployed to inspect the vehicle.

    No one was injured.
