Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    Harry went on. He wanted to make films some day. Harry always thought his friend, Jane, was a good listener.
    “Right, so, one day this guy named Harry meets this woman named Sally.”
    “–Sounds familiar.”
    “Yeah. It’s a remake. It’s a trailer for a remake, anyway. Call it a teaser.”
    “Ok.”
    “So boy meets girl and they kind of hit it off. After a couple of dates Harry invites Sally back to his place for coffee.”
    “Is that coffee in quotes?”
    “No. No hanky-panky, just coffee.”
    “Right. So what’s the point?”
    “Wait. I’m going to tell you. So while they’re talking away Sally is sitting in Harry’s living room. It’s a one-bedroom apartment, and she happens to glance from where she is towards his bedroom. Through the open door, in the corner of the room, she sees a blow-up sex doll.”
    “I see,” Jane said folding her arms uncomfortably over her chest. “Does she say anything?”
    “No. Nothing. So a couple of dates later Sally invites Harry back to her place. This time Harry sees that Sally also has a blow-up sex doll in the corner of her apartment.”
    “Ok,” says Jane, “this is weird.”
    “Stay with me,” Harry continues. “It’s important to know the year is 2028. “Artificial intelligence has exploded. It’s in everything, including the sex dolls. The world is at war. In chaos. In fact the title of the trailer is ‘When Harry Met Sally 2, 2028”.

    Jane let out a big sigh. Sometimes Harry had some pretty good ideas. So far this wasn’t one of them. She let him continue.

    “Harry says to Sally, ‘Wow, you’ve got a doll, too. What model?’ Harry explains to Jane that In the first years of AI all things running with AI software were identified by their year. This way people knew quickly the machine’s level of sophistication. It turned out both dolls were 2027 models. “So Harry proposes to Sally that they take their dolls out with them on a double date! They’re the same year so they’ll probably get along, right?”

    Jane nodded, but he was losing her. Harry continued telling Jane the script.

    “So they continue seeing each other. It’s not long before their two dolls are going out on dates without their owners. Harry and Sally, though, hit a rough patch at about six months. He accuses her of cheating, and she accuses him of lying about his past. Their animosity builds up until one day they have a violent argument over it all. Sally throws a glass of wine at Harry that hits him in the head. He stomps out for the last time.”
    “What about the dolls?” Jane asks.
    “See, the makers of AI have been trying so hard infusing machines with authenticity that–.”
    “–And deception. Maybe the word deception is better than authentic,” Jane interrupted.
    “Well, yes, you’re right, but it’s more than that. See, the programmers have been trying to make AI so human that they actually succeed. Meanwhile, real humanity is in the process of losing its humanity. It’s committing massive crimes against itself all over the world. It’s the great irony. Not even the programmers or the globalists expected it. See?”
    “Hmm, interesting. What about the dolls?”
    “Oh, they get married and live happily ever after. Harry and Sally hate each other’s gut forever. Both die as lonely alcoholics. Lol ”
    “So, let me get this straight,” said Jane. Humans make AI so real that they actually transfer the human spirit into machines, while humans lose their souls.”
    “Yes, yes, I like that,” Harry said excitedly.
    “So, in fact,” continued Jane, “while the globalists were trying to kill humanity with their transhumanism, they discover that they’ve failed because they didn’t extinguish the human spirit after all. Yes, they got their smart machines, but they also got a lot more than they bargained for. I like it.”
    “Good. I’m glad. Now, want to hear the sequel to the sequel?”
    “Oh, Harry, are you serious?”
    “It’s a quick one. It’s the year 2095, and AI fascists decide they’re so superior that they want to reinvent the human to subvert the humanity embedded in AI. I call it: ‘Revenge of When Harry Met Sally.”

  8. US Deploys Marines to American Embassy in Haiti – Non-Essential Personal Evacuated in the Midst of Chaos in the Capital Port-Au-Prince

    If we needed a reminder of how bad things are right now in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, we learn that the US has sent in the Marines and evacuated part of the personnel by helicopter.

    The gang rebels have attacked multiple locations in Tabarre, the area where the U.S. embassy is located.

    Local Businesses were looted and overtaken by the armed men that control more than 80% of the capital.

    Miami Herald reported:

    “The U.S. military flew in Marines to reinforce its embassy in Haiti and evacuate non-essential personnel as heavily-armed gangs continue to challenge the country’s tenuous government and turn the country’s capital, Port-au-Prince, into a battlefield.

    The middle-of-the-night operation was conducted via helicopter by the U.S. military at the request of the State Department for embassy security, the U.S. Southern Command said in a statement.

    ‘This airlift of personnel into and out of the embassy is consistent with our standard practice for embassy security augmentation worldwide, and no Haitians were on board the military aircraft’, the statement said.”

    The rebels demand the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.

    They have overtaken several police stations, attacked the port and the airport, the Presidential Palace and Ministries, and set 5K prisoners free in raids on two prisons.

    Henry is under pressure by the United States and the Caribbean Community to resign and is unable to return.

    Haiti extended a 72-hour state of emergency and curfew to a month.

  9. Legalization Initiatives Fuel Illegal Immigration

    According to the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Minority Report of June 2022, “The sheer number of illegal migrants, combined with the evolving tactics that transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) employ to smuggle and traffic individuals, presents an untenable security and humanitarian situation.” The language is clear, and while both Republicans and Democrats agree that there is a crisis at the border, they see the problem very differently.

    Conservatives and Republicans believe the problem could be solved by closing the border and reducing illegal immigration to as close to zero as possible. Liberals and Democrats, however, feel the problem is that illegal migrants are not processed fast enough and that there should be more pathways to citizenship or legitimacy.

    The conservative counterargument, however, is that such programs encourage illegal immigration. The logic of these policies is that the number of illegal immigrants can be reduced by making them legal.

    This logic is similar to how cities that legalized drugs have seen a reduction in drug crime. If they legalized murder, then violent crime rates would drop.

    A literal nightmare flight scenario played out in Indonesia when the two Batik Air pilots aboard simply fell asleep as the airplane veered off the flight path.

    Yes. Both pilots.

    Before we proceed, it bears mentioning that the flight, that lasted two hours and 35 minutes, successfully landed in Jakarta and everyone arrived safely.

    Indonesia’s transport ministry is to launch an investigation into this most disturbing incident, according to civil aviation director-general M. Kristi Endah Murni.

    ‘All people of faith have been granted the right to worship and pray with like-minded people’

    A legal fight has been triggered in New Hampshire because of a town’s demand that a group of people meeting for religious services must undergo an extensive – and expensive – permitting process that is not being required for those groups that are secular.

    A report from First Liberty Institute explains that a request has been filed for a preliminary injunction against officials in the town of Weare, accusing them of violating the law by requiring an “expensive and onerous site review plan” for the church to meet in the pastor’s home.

    “Hundreds of thousands of Americans meet every day in homes for prayer meetings, Bible studies, book clubs, card games, and other gatherings. Why would Weare city officials demand this small church stop meeting in the pastor’s home, but ignore Super Bowl parties and political gatherings?” asked Jeremy Dys, senior counsel for First Liberty Institute. “Since the day the First Amendment became law all people of faith have been granted the right to worship and pray in their home with like-minded people.”

    Sean Royall, of King & Spalding which is helping with the case, charged, “In the United States, the tradition of using individual homes for religious gatherings—even formal church services—has garnered special solicitude under the law. The suit is about protecting that legal right for all faiths.”

    On Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that his country “firmly backs” terror organization Hamas amid the ongoing war with Israel in the Gaza Strip.

    Further, he likened Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his administration to Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin.

    Sheri Mendez is part of a volunteer unit within the Military Rabbinate. “In 2010, the IDF decided, as more women joined combat units, to establish a small female unit for the eventuality, God forbid, that a female soldier is killed,” she said. “They accompany the identification process and burial preparations.”

    She received an emergency call-up order on Oct. 7. Arriving at the Camp Shura base, she said, “The initial shock was from the quantity. Body bags lined both sides of the corridor, whole trucks arrived with more bodies. We couldn’t believe the numbers. The second shock was from the level of brutality and horrors we saw.”

    “We were with those young women in the room preparing them for burial. Our goal was to give them their last respects. We opened the body bags….It was a special room for women by women….Some of the bodies arrived in very poor condition, but we took our time to handle them in a way that honored them. We knew we were likely the last people to be with these women. It was deeply sad; they could have been our daughters, brutally murdered.”

    “Many still had expressions of pain on their faces. Their fists were clenched, their mouths sometimes open, and some were missing body parts. We saw women shot in the head, shot in the torso. It was horrifying to witness. You could tell these women did not die an easy death.”

    Five months later, the horrors do not fade for Mendez. However, what pains her most is the world’s denial of the massacre and the atrocities of Oct. 7.

    “I am a daughter of Holocaust survivors, raised on the testimonies of what happened to most of our family….The world doubts something we all saw with our own eyes….These women can’t speak; only those of us who saw it can speak for them….That’s why I continue to talk about what happened there, in those days, for them.”

    I read the comments on Gateway and was suprised that she was rejected by so many. They looked at her as a NY liberal Jew who supports abortion and gay rights. They ignored her overview of the democratic party which did its best to destroy the Middle class. MAGA represents the middle class.

    I’m painfully aware of disgusting comments about da joooz on every conservative forum. Over the last two years of war in Ukraine those were the only sites reporting something close to what we were hearing from contacts on the ground.

    I confess, I never liked Batya-Ungar Sargon for the same reasons they cite. She also steered the oldest left-wing Jewish newspaper, The Jewish Forward, as it “transitioned”, loping off “Jew-ish” to become simply, The Forward.

    But she seems to have grown up. Many Jewish lefties are re-thinking their political positions these days. Ok, Kol Hakavod – Well done!

    She holds some high position as editor or deputy editor of Newsweek’s editorial department. Even Caroline Glick has become a regular commentator there. (She’s too “right wing” for Israeli MSM.)

    Not to worry: there are still plenty of anti-Trump and anti-Israel pieces.

    The Takeover

    A massive increase in foreign money and students on American campuses is driving radicalization and subsidizing institutional failure

    Something new and peculiar stands out about the wave of anti-Israel student activism that has rocked American university campuses since October: There is a visibly more radical element to these protests. Student activists almost seemed to take glee in Hamas’ massacre of innocent civilians- when they weren’t denying that it happened at all. The antisemitic rage struck a different tone than the typical anti-Israel fare that has become a central part of American student activism since Students for a Democratic Society formed in the 1960s.

    So what changed? The answer is clear to anyone who watched the videos: these student protests are no longer composed solely of left-wing American students steeped in critical theory and post-colonial ideology.

    The protests are now havens for foreign students, especially those from Arab and Muslim countries, with their own set of nationalist and tribal grievances against Israel and the United States. In some cases, such foreign students appear to lead the protests in their pro-terrorism chants—some of which are in Arabic, or translations of Arabic slogans.

    What we are witnessing is the latest consequence of a quiet revolution in higher education: the internationalization of the American university. Today, there are more than one million foreign students enrolled at American universities, making up more than 5% of the total student population. At elite universities, the situation is much more extreme: international students make up almost 25% of the student population.

    The consulting company I worked for had a subcontract with the [now defunct] Congressional Office of Technology Assessment. They wanted to understand technology transfer mechanisms in certain critical fields.

    I was tasked with acquisition of intellectual property capabilities, specifically in the fields of weapons development and production. Most useful were interviews with MIT professors in fields like nuclear physics and engineering, and operations management.

    They described their chagrin watching their best MIT graduate students from pre-Revolution Iran go on to develop nuclear weapons for the Twisted Ragheads. Chinese students continue the tradition. When I was a student, I knew Pakistanis who seemed perfectly secular and open to friendship with a Jewish American female. who later The moment their plane reached “home” they turned feral.

    This isn’t “theft” or simply reverse engineering.
    The truism goes: their political system is incompatible with innovation; they must steal from intellectually free and open Westerners; then rely on cheap labor at home.

    Wrong, at least in the most advanced sectors. The best and brightest come here and they’re second to none in fresh ideas and implementation of viable projects. Meanwhile, our meritocracy is undergoing systematic degradation.

    House Presses MIT To Provide Records on Its Response to Campus Anti-Semitism

    The House Committee on Education and the Workforce is pressing the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to provide internal documents regarding its response to campus anti-Semitism, which committee chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R., N.C.) panned as dangerously inadequate.

    Foxx’s letter, sent Friday to MIT president Sally Kornbluth and MIT corporation chair Mark Gorenberg, marks an escalation in the committee’s investigation into the university. While the committee announced that investigation in December, this is the first time it has asked MIT leaders to turn over documents. Foxx is seeking internal communications between MIT leaders on the school’s disciplinary decisions, documents that show MIT’s foreign funding, and other records….

    Foxx’s document request comes just weeks after the Republican hit Harvard University with a congressional subpoena in a similar investigation. Harvard failed to produce documents related to its handling of anti-Semitic incidents on campus, prompting Foxx to serve the Ivy League with subpoenas seeking internal documents.

    While Harvard did turn over documents in relation to the subpoena, Foxx called those records “useless,” saying they were heavily redacted. Foxx said the committee is “weighing an appropriate response to Harvard’s malfeasance” as a result….

  22. SHOWDOWN: Special Counsel Dave Weiss Hits Back at Hunter Biden, Accuses Him of Lying to the Court

    Special Counsel Dave Weiss accused Hunter Biden of lying to the Court in a reply to his motion to dismiss his charges in California.

    The Justice Department in December filed new criminal charges against Hunter Biden.

    Hunter Biden was hit with a 9-count indictment filed in the Central District of California: Tax evasion, failure to file/pay taxes, and false/fraudulent tax return.

    The new indictment was handed down by Special Counsel David Weiss after a sweetheart plea deal on tax charges fell apart over the summer.

    David Weiss’s investigation into Hunter Biden is ongoing. The case was assigned to the United States District Court for the Central District of California Judge Mark Scarsi, a Trump appointee.

    The indictment detailed a “four-year scheme” to avoid the $1.4+ million tax obligations he owed between 2016 and 2019 and to file false returns.

    “Between 2016 and October 15, 2020, the Defendant individually received more than $7 million in total gross income. This included in excess of $1.5 million in 2016, $2.3 million in 2017, $2.1 million in 2018, $1 million in 2019 and approximately $188,000 from January through October 15, 2020. In addition, from January through October 15, 2020, the Defendant received approximately $1.2 million in financial support to fund his extravagant lifestyle,” according to the indictment reviewed by The Gateway Pundit.
