Israel Must Fight Gaza War to the End
In the coming days, there will likely be many statements by senior Hamas officials saying that if the Israeli attacks stop, then another hostage release deal could be agreed on. But that doesn’t mean that such a deal will actually come to pass. Yahya Sinwar and his companions will specifically try to buy more time to ensure their survival.
Meanwhile, the IDF’s ground operation is showing results. There are clear indications of the dismantling of Hamas and the loss of command-and-control capabilities by the organization’s leadership. It takes time, and it will take an additional time. The ground operation in Khan Yunis may change and become based on more targeted and intelligence-based actions but it will continue, and the U.S. government understands and accepts this.
Hamas is paying a heavy price for its decision to launch an attack against Israel on Oct. 7, and it will continue to do so. Additionally, we must remember that Israel has no choice but to act until Hamas’ complete elimination. Israel can’t allow this terror organization, responsible for the greatest disaster in the country’s history, to return to power in Gaza.
If this were to happen, we would see more and more attempts to carry out actions and attacks reminiscent of Oct. 7. Only determined and consistent action against Hamas can prevent such disasters in the future.

If Security Problems Are Allowed to Fester, They Become More Difficult to Deal With
At 72 days, the Israel-Hamas war is already one of the longest the country has ever experienced. This type of warfare against terrorists hiding in buildings and popping out of the ground takes time. Every day the pain grows more and more as names are added to the list of the fallen, but Israel must continue to pursue the aims of toppling Hamas, rescuing the hostages, and deterring other regional enemies. One of the reasons Israel finds itself in this current war is because, in previous rounds of fighting in Gaza, it was not willing to “finish the job” and eradicate Hamas.
One of the reasons Prime Minister Netanyahu was not willing to finish the job was concern about the public’s inability to handle the casualties it would take to bring Hamas to heel. It is the same thinking that prevented the government from taking military action to prevent the buildup of Hizbullah’s enormous arsenal following the Second Lebanon War in 2006.
Then Oct. 7 hit and the equation changed. Suddenly, because of the pure evil and savagery of the attacks, the public felt that Israel needed to do what it takes, as long as it takes, to remove this threat.
There was a realization that no life-aspiring nation could live with terrorists hell-bent on destroying it operating within a stone’s throw of communities it was hell-bent on destroying. There was an internalization that security problems do not go away or become more manageable with time. On the contrary, if they are allowed to fester, they only become more difficult to deal with.

How Jews Escaped Their Dismal Fate
Throughout history Jews have suffered mass murder on a regular basis over two millennia. No matter the location or era, Jews were prisoners of an inescapable sinister circle: Enter a society, live and thrive there for some time, and soon enough be robbed, attacked, murdered or expelled.
This closeness to death, accompanied by latent, primal fear, followed Jewish existence and persisted in this people’s subconscious minds. Jews carry with them a chronic sensation of inevitable doom. This same fear, this feeling of inevitable catastrophe, is what most Jews felt on Oct. 7.
Jews need to defend themselves. There is no other way to assure freedom and flourishing if their precondition, self-protection, is outsourced to the goodwill of others. A Jewish state can always fight back. On May 14, 1948, something changed. Jews gained the power to defend themselves.

Domestic politics at play as US insists on two-state solution
Despite its public stance, the U.S. knows having the P.A. take over in Gaza is a non-starter, experts tell JNS.
On Saturday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “As of this moment, the Palestinian Authority senior leadership simply refuses to condemn the [Oct. 7] massacre, and some of them even praise it openly. They will control Gaza on ‘the day after’? Haven’t we learned anything? As the Prime Minister of Israel, I will not allow that to happen.”
According to John Hannah, a Senior Fellow at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) in Washington, the Biden administration “knows full well that a Palestinian state is a complete non-starter for the foreseeable future.”

It can’t even fight terrorism in Jenin. Harris Poll Finds 51% of Americans Ages 18-24 Want Israel ‘Ended and Given to Hamas’
Let’s put it this way: if some rare disease had swept through America, killing everyone 25 and older, it would become very inhospitable for Jews. A survey conducted online by The Harris Poll and HarrisX within the United States from December 13-14 among 2,034 registered voters, asked,
“Do you think that the long-term answer to the Israel-Palestinian dispute is for Arab states to absorb the Palestinians, for there to be two states, Israel and Palestine, or for Israel to be ended and given to Hamas and the Palestinians?” and, G-d help us, 51% of respondents ages 18-24 preferred “for Israel to be ended….”
Even more disturbing are the seemingly inherent contradictions in the 18-24 groups’ answers be related questions. In fact, right next to the above offensive result, comes this question:
“Do you believe that Hamas attackers on October 7th committed rapes and other crimes against women or is that not the case?”
And, surprise, surprise, respondents ages 18-24 believed the charges against Hamas by a majority of 76%….
“Do you think Hamas is supported by the majority of Palestinians in Gaza, or is Hamas a terror group that rules the people of Gaza with force and fear and is not supported by them?”
64% of the 18-24 age group agreed that Gazan support for Hamas is voluntary which seems to line up with the insane results from the PCPSR survey of Arabs in Gaza, Judea and Samaria…
If this poll is any indication, these are America’s future leaders and sociopaths.

At Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on October 3, 2022, a group of four were hiking on a ski trail at Bear Mountain Ski Club. Their intent was to obtain pictures of the fall colors. The group consisted of three women: Analyn Bartolome, friends Leosette Canoy and Wennali Canoy, and Analyn’s teenage son, Kelly. It was getting late when the group started heading back. The sun was close to the horizon, and the shadows were long when the bear attack started.
From various accounts, including a GoFundMe, Kelly heard footsteps behind them. He turned to look but saw nothing. He dropped back a little as they continued back toward the trailhead. He heard more footsteps, turned and saw a black bear. He alerted the group and turned back to see the bear charging at them. As the bear approached, he punched it. It knocked him aside, bruising his ribs. The bear was focused on his mother, Analyn, who was attempting to get away. As the bear attacked Analyn, her friend Leosette intervened. The bear attacked Leosette. While the bear was attacking Leosette, Kelly hit the bear with a large stick, momentarily stunning it. The bear continued to attack Leosette.

Cell phone coverage was poor to non-existent where the attack occurred. Kelly and Wennali decided to run for help. They arrived at the cabin by the trailhead and called for help. The RCMP received a report of the attack at about 6:50 p.m. When the RCMP arrived, it was very dark. They started to search for the victims, using ATVs to search Wolverine Trail. Staff Sergeant Damon Werrell was one of the responding officers. On the trail, officers found a large pool of blood. When the officers studied the blood, they heard a low whisper: “Help bear.” The officers directed their flashlights at a horrific sight. From cjdctv.com:
“I turned the Gator around so I was facing the bear in order to use the lights to illuminate the area a little bit. And I used the gator to try and push the bear away to scare it off. I tried two or three times and by this time, the victims now were screaming for help.”
The bear had been sitting on the 2 women for over an hour. Werrell said it was playing with the two badly injured women like an animal that plays with its food. The bear was swatting and gnawing at them.
One of the buttocks on one of the women was almost gone. The bear had eaten it and her forearm was badly bitten.
The officers decided the bear had to be shot. After the bear was shot, the officers used one of the ATVs to transport the women to an ambulance. Both women have survived but faced long and expensive recoveries with multiple surgeries.
If any of the women or Kelly had possessed a weapon, most of the injuries would likely have been prevented. Use of any firearm would probably have either killed the bear or caused the bear to retreat after a warning shot or wounding the beast.
Little skill was necessary as the shots could have been delivered at arm’s length. Black bears seldom continue to attack after shots have been fired. Given Canada’s highly restrictive firearms laws, a spear or a large knife would probably have been sufficient to kill the bear or drive it away. Even small pocket knives have been successfully used to drive off black bears, or even grizzly bears.

Bear spray is less effective on black bears than on grizzly bears, especially black bears involved in predatory attacks. From craigmedred.news 2017, writing of the Pogo Mine fatal attack:
There has been some past research indicating that black bears can rather quickly recover from being sprayed.
“I don’t know why,” Stephen Herrero, the dean of bear research said Thursday evening, “but it showed up in the data.”
As in this case, Herrero said, the spray initially drove bears off, but they came back. This is, however, the first time a fatality has been associated with the failure of bear spray.
There have been nine human fatalities where bear spray was used against bears, but only one human fatality where a handgun was fired in defense against a bear. The latest two fatalities involving bear spray were in Banff National park in Canada.
Kelly had the courage and the will to defend his mother and her friends. He did not have the means.
Just a few weeks ago I was out at my place scouting where to build a bridge across the river. I looked down and saw the biggest bear prints I’ve ever seen. They weren’t more than a few hours old in the snow. We don’t have Grizzlies here, so it was a massive big black bear. It was only 80 yards from the house so I’ll be keeping the dog nearby from now on. I started with the shepherd thinking if we came across a bear the dog would give us a minute or two to get away, but there’s no substitute for a gun.

And they assume we are to discount their hypocrisy and self-absorption simply because they self-identify as erudite and moral and assume their opponents are irredeemable and deplorable.
Impeachment
The Left is saturating the airwaves with outrage over the current House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry. They allege that formally investigating Joe Biden’s role in the family grifting operation is somehow a poor constitutional precedent, if not out-of-bounds entirely.
So we hear further arguments that it will be unwise to impeach a first-term president when he loses his House majority, that there is no reason to “waste” congressional time and effort when Biden will be automatically acquitted in the Democratically controlled Senate, and that the impeachment is cynically timed to synchronize with president’s reelection efforts.
All of these are the precise arguments many of us cited when Donald Trump was impeached in December 2019 (as his reelection campaign began, and immediately after being cleared of the 22-month, $40-million-special-counsel Russian-collusion hoax).
The Democrats tried to remove an elected president over a phone call without a special counsel’s report. So Trump was impeached only after the 2018 election led to a Democratic House majority, which went from eating up nearly two years of his administration in the Russian-collusion hoax straight into the impeachment farce. There was no concern about the cost to the nation of putting an elected government into a continual state of siege.
There is one difference, though, between the Trump impeachment and the Biden impeachment inquiry. Donald Trump was impeached because he accurately accused the members of the Ukrainian government of paying Hunter Biden, with his zero fossil fuel expertise, an astronomical sum to serve on the Burisma board—as the costly quid that earned the lucrative quo from his dad Vice President Joe Biden.
No one now denies that Joe Biden got prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired by threatening to cancel legislatively-approved U.S. aid. Shokin knew about the skullduggery through which the Biden family eventually received $6.5 million from Ukraine—and so Biden ensured his firing, and publicly bragged about it in performance-art fashion.
In sum, Trump had a perfect right as commander in chief to delay (he did not cancel) aid to Ukraine, to ensure that its government was not still paying off the Bidens for their lobbying efforts on its behalf.
It is also now clear that Biden serially lied about his ignorance of Hunter’s shake-down operation. In fact, he was, as Devon Archer emphasized, “the brand” central to Hunter’s scheme to coerce money from foreign governments. Joe was proverbially, in Hunter’s words “the man sitting next to me” and thus able to either punish or reward foreign interests, depending on the size of the checks they wrote to his various fronting family members.
Offspring subpoenas
The left is now furious that Hunter has been subpoenaed by the House to testify in private about how he earned his multimillion-dollar income, whether he fully paid taxes on it, and to whom he distributed his winnings.
Hunter has refused to testify. He is now being held in contempt of the U.S. Congress—to the silence of the usually self-righteous former senator Joe “pay your fair share” Biden.
We hear sanctimonious harangues that Joe is guilty of loving “his only son” Hunter too much, or that it is way out of bounds for a Department of Justice prosecutor to hound Joe Biden by going “after his family,” or that Republican congressional subpoenas and contempt findings should be summarily ignored.
Ask Peter Navarro or Steve Bannon whether one can simply ignore a House subpoena. Ask Ivanka Trump whether she was, or was not, subpoenaed to appear before the January 6 committee. Ask the Trump sons whether they could breezily say “no” to Letitia James’s subpoenas in her farcical real-estate-valuation suit against Trump.
Whistleblowers
Do we remember when, not long ago, whistleblowers were noble?
The alleged whistleblower Eric Ciaramella, an Obama holdover who had burrowed inside the Trump administration, had zero firsthand knowledge of the Trump phone call to Ukrainian president Zelensky. Ukrainian expatriate Lt. Col Alexander Vindman was on the call, as a member of the Trump national security team. He broke the law and apparently disclosed the classified call—in outrage that Trump was apparently too hard on his native Ukraine— to Ciaramella, and then hid the latter’s identity. Both met privately with Rep. Adam Schiff (D—CA) to engineer an impeachment writ.
This impeachment gambit was well-known to the media and the Democratic House. Both Vindman and Ciaramella were canonized as invaluable tools in wearing down Trump in a way that the failed Mueller prosecution had never done.
And whistleblowers now?
IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley and 13-year Special IRS Agent Joe Ziegler never violated any statute or disclosed classified information. They did not leak a presidential phone call to a foreign leader.
Instead, both came forward as whistleblowers to testify before Congress about how the Biden Justice Department deliberately and carefully ensured that the mountain of evidence for the prosecution of Hunter Biden that they had presented had simply been ignored—at least long enough for the statute of limitations to run out on his most egregious crimes.
When they both made their case that facts proved the Biden family received huge sums for selling access to or action from Joe Biden, they were roundly trashed by Democrats in congress and pilloried as disgruntled politicos by a toady press.
Dictators
Never-Trumpers and leftists vie to predict the most nightmarish consequence of a 2024 Trump election win. Supposedly, he will commit every imaginable sin, from ending habeas corpus to jailing his enemies.
This fearmongering has no basis in fact, especially given that the nation has already experienced a Trump administration for four years. And it saw none of the weaponization of the CIA, FBI, DOJ, and IRS that we have seen under the Biden and earlier Obama administrations. There was no concerted effort to destroy the 2020 Biden campaign in the manner of the 2016 Russian-collusion caper, no FBI suppression of evidence as we saw in the case of the Hunter laptop, no warping of a FISA court, no paying social media corporations FBI money to suppress news unfavorable to Trump. And so on.
The Burden of Familial Indictments?
Suddenly yet another new narrative emerges: Joe Biden is unduly preoccupied, bearing the enormous burden of Hunter’s indictments. Apparently, we have never appreciated the supposedly unnecessary and cruel encumbrance on a president when his son is indicted.
So, we are told that a son’s legal exposure is an unfair weight on a president.
Have we again forgotten the subpoenaed Trump children, much less the four weaponized indictments of Trump himself? Does anyone wish to compare the drug-addicted, prostitute-hiring, gun-losing, pornographic-photo-taking, shake-down grifting of Hunter with the conduct of the five Trump children?
What would Biden think if the next Republican Secretary of State had once tried to ruin him by rounding up “51 intelligence authorities” to blatantly lie that a Trump son’s incriminating laptop was not his own, in order to affect the 2024 election —all in the manner of the Antony Blinken 2020 ruse? Or imagine a future National Security advisor who had once tried, in Jake Sullivan’s 2016 way, to concoct a malicious yarn that Hunter was engineering a computer ping correspondence from Biden headquarters to Moscow. Would those be burdens on Biden? Were they on Trump?
It may well be unwise to impeach a president in his first term when he loses his House majority. It may certainly set a bad precedent to subpoena the children of presidents. It may be regrettable that whistleblowers are either unduly demonized or sanctified. And it is of course wrong to smear a president as a veritable Hitlerian dictator.
But the left does not see such absolutes. Instead, once a supposedly morally-superior agenda is enunciated, then any means necessary are justified to obtain it.
And that alternate reality ensures that impeaching a president, indicting him, subpoenaing his kids, praising or libeling whistleblowers, or smearing a president as a dictator become good or bad things only by determining whether they prove useful to the progressive project.
