Reader’s Links for December 15th, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Canadian Government proxy Global News provides a very biased report against Hungary and its blocking of Uke ascension to EU membership. The fact that there are many excellent reasons to prevent Ukrainian membership is ignored. Why does Brussels want to admit a dictatorship? Is there not a rule about admitting a country at war? Is it because Brussels is just as corrupt as the Ukes? What about ongoing Ukrainian ethnic cleansing of non-Ukes inside Ukraine? What about the money-laundering Biden/Democratic party machine? Now that this mean lion has had its fill on the carcass, do the Europeans want their turn to use the Ukraine as their own honey hole? Was this the deal Biden made with Brussels?

That war was an unnecessary, disgusting, tragic mess perpetrated by the corrupt at the expense of the innocent.

Much to Brussels’ chagrin the Hungarians have not succumb to its blackmailing effort by withhold EU funds. Now, hostile EU members try to argue that anything short of Uke membership is serving Moscow, as is anyone who brings light to Ukraine’s deficient membership application. Such specious reasoning is just more political pablum.

Besides, how does Brussels grant membership to a country that is currently being geographically divided, which brings us back to the reasoning of the war question. Brussels must be able to quantify its applicants, first. This clip even has a member pointing this fact out in the Hungarian context, saying that Hungary should not have been allowed into the EU, originally, because it was too poor. Well, a Ukraine awash in U.S. taxpayer money certainly is not poor. I think the EU member has inadvertently exposed his true interest by saying this. Half a million dead Ukes are a mere statistic. It’s the money that matters.

  2. Dictating the price and quantity of fiat currency is the most central of central planner’s (Keynesian) mandates. Lose control of these two levers and Austrians are suddenly invited in from the cold.

We are currently witnessing this very phenomenon. Dictating the price and quantity of real money is the central planner’s nemesis. This is done by selling the paper substitute of it into the futures market. Estimating the timeline of what is either a logarithmic or exponential monetary decay is way above the pay grade of this lowly autodidact, but herein will be found the answer to what is the quadrillion dollar derivative question of our day.

  3. Interest rates cannot drop in any meaningful way because it is through debt issuances of government bonds that bankrupt governments finance themselves. Drop rates and the bonds lose their attraction. Raise rates and you crash the economy, and you also increase your own already unaffordable debt payments as a government. This is the debt trap.

VIDEO: Robbery Scheme Goes Horribly Wrong for Group of Masked Thugs After Elderly Store Employee Pulls Out His Gun and Sends Them Racing Out the Door in Terror
    by Cullen Linebarger Dec. 15, 2023 8:45 am24 Comments

Pleasant Hill, California – A group of low-life thugs messed with the wrong man earlier this week and were fortunate to escape with their lives.

As KRON 4 News reported, a group of would-be robbers attempted a jewelry heist but came face-to-face with an armed employee who sent them fleeing in terror. The incident occurred at the Estates Consignment Store in Pleasant Hill on Monday.

Surveillance video shows a woman on the phone holding the shop door open so a group of masked thieves can rush in. Sources told KRON 4 News that she may have orchestrated the entire scheme.

Two men stand at the door threatening and holding back the security guard while the other three race toward the jewelry counters at the back of the store, hoping to make a big score. They receive a nasty surprise instead.

An old man at the back of the counter confronts the thugs with his gun drawn, aiming it directly at them. Fearing for their lives, the would-be robbers immediately abandoned their criminal activities and raced out the door in terror.

  5. DEVELOPING: Credentialed “Blaze Media” Journalist CHARGED by FBI for Documenting J6 | INTERVIEW (VIDEO)
    by Elijah Shaffer Dec. 15, 2023 8:30 am39 Comments

Steve Baker is a journalist for TheBlaze.com (Blaze Media) & was formally charged by the FBI for documenting the protest and unrest around the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021.

This isn’t the first journalist the Biden DOJ has attempted to prosecute, as Owen Shroyer of Info Wars was recently incarcerated for 47 days based on comments he made during his nightly news broadcast. There were several other reporters who have been investigated and charged.

However, Steve Baker’s case is drastically different than Shroyer’s situation. Steve was a well established reporter (not even a Trump supporter at the time) who attended the Trump rally with the intent of documenting the transfer of power during an important day in American history.

The FBI harassed him in July of 2021, but left him alone after becoming aware of his status as an established reporter. The only issue is, Steve eventually began investigating the federal government’s role in the events of January 6th and uncovered corruption at the highest levels of law enforcement. This apparently upset federal prosecutors who are now formally charging Baker despite him working actively as a credentialed journalist for TheBlaze.com.

  6. Former FBI Counterintelligence Chief Who Investigated Trump-Russia Collusion Hoax Sentenced to Over 4 Years for Colluding with Russian Oligarchs
    by Jim H?ft Dec. 15, 2023 8:15 am116 Comments

A former high-ranking FBI official has been sentenced to over four years in prison for colluding with Russian oligarchs.

Charles McGonigal, once the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division in New York, faced charges for conspiring to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and committing money laundering.

McGonigal, 55, from New York City, was sentenced to 50 months in prison and ordered to pay a $40,000 fine on Thursday.

McGonigal was arrested earlier this year for conspiring with Oleg Deripaska, a Russian oligarch sanctioned by the U.S. government.

Attorney Will Scharf: Supreme Court Will Likely Find that 1512 Was Improperly Applied in J6 Cases – This Would Gut Jack Smith’s Case Against Trump (VIDEO)
    by Jim Hoft Dec. 15, 2023 8:00 am43 Comments

Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Will Scharf is running for Attorney General in Missouri. Scharf was instrumental in confirming Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, and wrote legislation that put an end to “abortion sanctuary cities” in Missouri.

On Thursday Scharf joined Ivory Hecker on Gateway: Beyond the Headlines to discuss the recent news that the Supreme Court will hear the lawsuit involving the unconstitutional DOJ 1512(c)(2) charges against Trump supporters protesting on January 6 at the US Capitol.

Will Scharf broke this down for the Gateway: Beyond the Headlines audience.

Will Scharf: What we’re dealing with here is a statute. It’s 18 United States Code 1512. The parts of the statute in question were passed into law in 2004 as part of the Sarbanes Oxley law, which was a response to the Enron scandal and other primarily financial scandals. This particular subsection relates to evidence destruction, that sort of way of obstructing an official proceeding. What the DOJ has done here is taken that statute, that statutory provision, and attempted to apply it to the January 6 protesters and to President Trump himself on the theory that their objective was obstructing the electoral count process and that that falls within the catchment of this law. In front of the DC circuit, an outstanding conservative judge named Judge Katzus wrote a scathing dissent saying that this just made no legal sense at all, that there was no basis to be charging all of these people under this statute. And it affects, as you said, hundreds and hundreds of January 6 defendants in addition to President Trump himself.

  9. Israel puts $400K bounty on Hamas leader’s head, drops leaflets in Gaza

Thu, December 14, 2023 at 10:48 AM CST·3 min read

Israel dropped leaflets over Gaza offering cash rewards amounting to $1 million for information leading to the capture of Hamas’ top leadership in the region on Thursday.

Atop the list is Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who’s award is $400,000, followed by his brother, Muhammed at $300,000. Muhammed commands Hamas forces in southern Gaza. The leaflets also offer $200,000 for Rafaa Salameh, who commands the Khan Yunis Battalion, and $100,000 for Mohammed Deif, Hamas’ general military commander, according to the Tazpit Press Service.

Israeli forces have been working to track Sinwar and his cohorts for weeks. They surrounded his home in southern Gaza earlier in December, but he is believed to have taken shelter somewhere in the labyrinth of Hamas tunnels beneath Khan Younis, the largest city in southern Gaza.

Pictures of the fliers circulated on social media, showing an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) telephone number and contact info on the Telegram messaging app. The IDF is promising to protect the identities of any informants.

  10. Netherlands: Parliament approves “historic motion” to opt-out of EU asylum and migration policy
    14.12.2023
The Netherlands will have the option to deviate from strict adherence to European asylum and migration policies, following a decision by the House of Representatives on Wednesday. Geert Wilders, leader of the PVV party, hails this as a “historic motion.”

The motion, submitted by PVV, NSC, BBB, and VVD on Tuesday, advocates for an opt-out arrangement similar to Denmark’s, which has effectively managed mass immigration for two decades. The opt-out scheme allows a Member State to withdraw from a specific area of EU policy if it chooses not to participate, the Dutch press reported.

Denmark’s strict migration policy includes limited access to benefits and social services for newcomers, tightened conditions for family reunification, restricted labor market access for those lacking Danish language skills, and asylum seekers having to fund their own shelter.

The PVV, VVD, NSC, and BBB aim to implement a similar opt-out scheme for future European plans and agreements. A majority in Parliament supported the motion on Wednesday, with parties like SGP, Forum for Democracy, and JA21 voting in favor. Geert Wilders calls the voting results ‘historic.’

The motion responds to a recent EU proposal to reform European treaties, abolishing the veto power of Member States in 65 different areas. The proposal includes making climate and environmental policy an ‘exclusive competence’ of the EU, mandating the euro in all member states, introducing an EU defense, and granting the EU more influence in education and ‘gender diversity’ areas.

Concerns about the proposal’s far-reaching federalist reforms have been voiced by many EU member states, including NSC MP Caspar Veldkamp, who emphasizes the importance of the Netherlands using the opt-out option to reduce obligations rather than consistently adding them.

  11. FDNY races to rescue New Yorkers trapped in dark ELEVATORS as the Big Apple and New Jersey is plunged into chaos by sudden mass power outage sparked by ‘explosion’ at Con Edison plant

The New York City Fire Department was forced to save people from elevators across the city and commuters were trapped on the subway after a fault at a Con Edison plant in Brooklyn caused power outages.

Black smoke was seen coming from the power facility in Brooklyn at 11.55pm on Thursday night and a momentary power outage followed with lights flickering for a few seconds.

It plunged the city into chaos temporarily with multiple reports of people trapped in elevators and stuck on the subway for up to 20 minutes. Some motorists also reported blinking traffic lights.

Alarming footage showed a security guard at a Wegmans store in Brooklyn being rescued from an elevator by firefighters. At Grand Central station all elevators and escalators were out of service due to the power issue.

Con Edison said the issue was due to a fault on a power line at its facility on John Street in Dumbo. Most electricity is back up and running.

  13. A State-by-State Look at Noncitizen Voting
    By Joe Fried

Very recently, the Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports released the shocking results of their survey of 1,085 national likely voters. Of the ten questions asked, I think the most disturbing responses were related to these:

“During the 2020 election, did you cast a mail-in ballot in a state where you were no longer a permanent resident?” (17% said, “Yes.”).
“During the 2020 election, did a friend, family member, or organization, such as a political party, offer to pay or reward you for voting?” (8% said, “Yes.”).
“Do you know a friend, family member, co-worker, or other acquaintance who has admitted to you that he or she filled out a ballot on behalf of another person?” (11% said, “Yes.”).

Those results are bad enough, but I’d like to expand them to include two groups that probably did not respond to the survey: noncitizens and dead people. I could be wrong about the noncitizens, but I am certain I am correct with regard to our lately departed friends.

In 2018, at an event with Senator Elizabeth Warren, Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams told supporters that a “blue wave” would carry her to victory in her competition with Brian Kemp. That wave, she emphasized, would include both documented and undocumented voters.

It may seem shocking that a major candidate would advocate the recruitment of illegal voters, but Abrams was simply saying out loud what many politicians seem to welcome.

The impact of noncitizens on the Electoral College

Noncitizens have significantly impacted our elections for decades, in more ways than one. Let’s start with the impact of noncitizens on the Electoral College. The Kaiser Family Foundation estimates that noncitizens constitute 6.5 percent of the U.S. population. If that estimate is correct, we can calculate exactly how many of the electoral votes are assigned to that illegal element of our population. The number is 29.

Who gets those 29 electoral votes? Primarily, they are awarded to certain Democrat “sanctuary” states and to border states. Those include Arizona, California, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Texas, and the State of Washington, along with Washington, D.C. Of course, with Biden’s open border policy, the 29 noncitizen electors will rise sharply after the next Census. In a close election, those noncitizen “electors” could change the presidential election results.

  14. Nearly $9 million dollar gun ‘buyback’ program yields zero purchased firearms
    By Olivia Murray

Government incompetence is a double-edged sword, and this story out of Canada is a prime example of why, via Rebel News report published yesterday:

The Trudeau Liberals spent nearly $9 million on its gun ‘buyback’ scheme this year without purchasing a single firearm, says the Department of Public Safety.

Cabinet in an Inquiry Of Ministry told the House of Commons it spent $8,964,109 of the $37.4 million allocated to the program before they paused it on October 12.

Now when governments run gun “buyback” initiatives, “buyback” always goes in air quotes because it implies the government is buying something “back” as if it first owned the item—of course, this is not the case. The government is simply using money it plundered under threat of jail or state execution at the hands of a tax revenue “service” to bribe individuals into surrendering their right to self-defense for a couple of measly bucks. Stealing our money to weaponize it against us? What an utter racket.

But Justin Trudeau’s government, these idiots can’t even run a successful “buyback” program! Not that I’m complaining, at all, because when a government launches a program to disarm the people, starting with zero confiscated weapons and ending with zero confiscated weapons, it’s undoubtedly a good thing (this kind of fail is ironically a success)—but blowing nine million of our dollars in the process? Beyond despicable, and the incompetence, or perhaps the corruption, is a double-edged sword. So on what did these dopes spend the money?

  15. Democrats are the real threat
    By Eric Utter

Biden and many other Democrats incessantly claim that “MAGA” types are a threat to “our democracy.” This is preposterous on its face. No learned, rational person would fall for this notion. MAGA types, Trump-supporters, and other conservatives are generally people proud of their nation and is founding principles. They have an abiding belief in what the U.S. has traditionally stood for: individual rights, impartial justice under the rule of law, a jury of one’s peers, the concept of innocent until proven guilty, limited government, free-market capitalism, natural law — and the attendant belief that all men are created equal and granted inalienable rights by their Creator, including the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

These are anything but dangerous fascists. The opposite is the case. The tenets in which they believe led the United States to become the freest, wealthiest, most productive, most creative, most successful nation in history. And the most generous by far.

It is, rather, the increasingly radical Democrats and their far-left friends who are a legitimately existential threat to our democratic representative republic, precisely because they do not believe in most of these principles.

Let’s examine them in detail, in no particular order. Today’s Democrats, as clearly evidenced by the Biden administration and its Injustice Department, FBI, and assorted lackeys, believe in a two-tiered “justice” system, one in which their political opponents are guilty, often even when proved innocent, and which holds them unaccountable for virtually anything and everything. Look at the history of the judges and the makeup of the juries that have recently indicted former president Donald Trump multiple times on sham charges.

Today’s Democrats certainly don’t believe in free-market capitalism. Most now are Marxist in their outlook. The rest favor crony capitalism — AKA oligarchy.

And they are really against the concept of individual rights, favoring groups and “communities.” To them, individual rights are a trifling matter when juxtaposed with those of any given group. Intersectionality is the order of the day. LGBT good, MAGA bad. Incredibly, to many on the left, white people are racist oppressors. All of them. Guilty as charged. They can’t help it you see, because of their skin color.

And they are really, really anti-limited government — especially because they are the government, at least in large part. If an opponent should threaten to cut any department, any budget, any program, he is immediately reviled as a heartless hatemonger who desperately wants to see kids, Grandma, and the planet die. Drain the swamp? They would rather that believers in limited government smear themselves with gravy and traverse the Everglades naked.

As for natural rights, granted by our Creator? Well, most leftists don’t even believe in you know, the thing a Creator. Don’t want the competition. Therefore, deep down, they don’t think you should have the right to bear arms (defend yourself and your family), or even the right to free speech and assembly…if these don’t comport with their notions and desires. Life? Not necessarily. Abortion? That’s different — that is a fundamental right. Liberty? For felons maybe, but not Jan. 6ers! Happiness? Yes, if by happiness you mean the “right” to take drugs, steal, mutilate your genitals, use extreme profanity anywhere, anytime, anyplace, and receive a universal basic income (UBI). No, if it should mean a wish to be secure in your persons, houses, and effects, to have a secure border, or to have a say in how your taxes are spent. Remember: to Democrats, all rights are granted — or not — by government. (That is unfortunate if the government isn’t fond of you.)

“Progressives’” disdain for the individual, and affinity for massive government, groupthink, and identity politics, is infinitely more destructive to a free society than, say, belief in God or merit. Marxists’ stated belief that “the ends justify the means” leads them to gleefully lie, cheat, steal, or do absolutely anything else necessary to obtain and retain power. This is why Democrats are so quick to threaten, “cancel,” or even attempt to imprison their opponents. It is also why they want to pack the Supreme Court, end the filibuster, eliminate the Electoral College, and grant the federal District of Columbia statehood — and two senators.

The Tenth Amendment reads: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Democrats wish to reverse that.

Bill to Ban Gun CAD Files Nears Vote In The Senate
Ammoland Inc. Posted on December 14, 2023 by John Crump
    3D Printed Ghost Guns
FPC Sue State Department For Records About ‘3-D’ Gun Blueprints

A bill to ban computer-aided design (CAD) gun file sharing could be voted on in the United States Senate any day.

The bill reads: “It shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally distribute, over the internet or by means of the World Wide Web, digital instructions in the form of Computer Aided Design files or other code that can automatically program a 3-dimensional printer or similar device to produce a firearm or complete a firearm from an unfinished frame or receiver.”

Senate Bill 1819 is known as the 3D Printed Gun Safety Act and was introduced by Senator Edward Markey (D-MA) and co-sponsored by 28 other Democrats, including Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Chris Murphy (D-CT), and the late Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). It also has support from most of the other Democrats in the Senate.

“Let me be clear: We aren’t just talking about water pistols here,” said Co-sponsor Senate Kristin Gillibrand (D-NY). “We’re talking about real, fully operational semi-automatic firearms like AR-15 rifles and Beretta M9 handguns. Because many of the 3D printed guns are made of plastic, they can bypass metal detectors commonly used at…secure public areas. People are going into these public spaces and using these ghost guns to commit crimes, and law enforcement is finding it more and more difficult to stop them.”

The bill will prevent the sharing of gun CAD, which is hosted on sites such as Defense Distributed’s Def CAD website. The CAD files let anyone with a 3D printer print a firearm receiver. The affordability of 3D Printers that can be purchased for as little as a few hundred dollars has led to an explosion of DIY gun builders that design and print firearms. The 3D print revolution has made gun laws obsolete.

The bill cites the lack of serial numbers on 3D-printed firearms as one reason the Democrats believe that this proposed law is necessary. Federal law does not require homemade guns to have serial numbers. Anti-gun politicians in Congress have not been able to muster the support to change the law to require serial numbers for privately manufactured firearms (PFM).

Due to the lack of action in Congress, President Joe Biden ordered the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to issue a rule banning 80% kits and changed the classification of unfinished frames to be considered firearms. The ATF rule change did not address the 3D printing of guns.

Some states have proposed radical laws to try to cut down on the printing of firearms. New York has proposed a law that would require background checks to buy a 3D printer. Anyone the government prohibits from owning firearms would also be prevented from acquiring a 3D printer.

The proposed federal law raises constitutional questions beyond just the Second Amendment. Many believe that computer code is protected speech, and this law would run afoul of the First Amendment. Many books and resources exist that teach people how to make drugs and bombs, like the Anarchist Cookbook. Some in the gun community reason if that is protected by freedom of speech, then computer code that allows someone to make a gun must also be covered by the First Amendment.
A companion bill in the House of Representatives is currently in the House Judiciary. The House bill is expected to fail due to a lack of support from Republicans. It is doubtful that the Senate bill will have enough votes for a supermajority, but the Democrats have been able to pressure the Republicans into passing anti-gun bills such as the Bi-Partisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA).

Our forces conducted thorough searches of the area and exposed the ambush as well as Hamas intelligence and anti-tank positions in the area.”

At least 134 Hamas hostages are still missing, including 115 men and 20 women. 10-month-old Kfir Bibas, his brother Ariel, four, and his mother Shiri Bibas, 32, are still missing. Hamas claims they were killed in an “Israeli air strike,” while Israel continues to hope the Bibas family may be alive.

8 IDF soldiers were killed by an IED trap in Northern Gaza Wednesday. While mentally impaired White House Resident Joe Biden accused Israel of “indiscriminate bombing”, brave IDF soldiers are actually fighting house by house in Gaza, risking their young lives. Many IDF draftees are younger than 21 and, therefore, “children,” according to Hamas. 442 IDF soldiers have been killed since Oct. 7.

An investigation into the deaths of female IDF SigInt soldiers at Nahal Oz military base on October 7 discovered that Hamas terrorists used chemical (gas) weapons to kill Israelis, Jewish Press reports.

According to a report by Israel’s Channel 12 News, investigators examining the bodies of the surveillance soldiers at the base reportedly revealed they died from the effects of toxic gas.

Fifteen female IDF observers and three female IDF officers died in the toxic Nahal Oz inferno. Six officers and one surveillance soldier managed to escape the toxic environment and survived to tell the tale to investigators. Of those remaining, six others were abducted by the terrorists who dragged them into Gaza.

  19. “Once They’re Dead, They Won’t be Able to Run Anymore”: Terror Leaders Flee Qatar for Turkey as Hamas Crumbles in Gaza
    by Richard Abelson Dec. 15, 2023 10:45 am96 Comments

Israeli soldiers destroyed the Hamas command and control center of Shejaiya Battalion, killed numerous terrorists and destroyed a terror tunnel, the IDF reported. Hamas leaders are on the run, with many leaving Qatar for Hamas-supporting Turkey, technically a NATO member.

Over the last day, IDF troops conducted a targeted raid on terror infrastructure in the city of Khan Yunis, Arutz Sheva reports. “The complex was struck by IAF aircraft, tanks, and engineering forces. In addition, IDF troops from the 414 Battalion used the “Maoz” drone for the first time, using it to locate and strike terrorist cells in the area. “

During the targeted raid, the troops struck a weapon storage compound using the precise “Iron Sting” munition, Arutz Sheva writes. “The troops also located a tunnel shaft in which they located motorbikes used by the Hamas terrorist organization in the October 7th massacre. An IAF fighter jet struck a military compound used by terrorists as a hideout and another aircraft struck three terrorists who attempted to attack IDF troops.”

Israel Defense Forces discovered that Hamas uses USAID and UNRWA sacks as sandbags, JNS reports. The sacks were discovered in terror tunnels under Hamas-controlled and EU-funded Al-Azhar University in Gaza City. Behind the tunnel’s concrete walls were large sacks belonging to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The sacks were filled with sand, possibly intended to stabilize the tunnel before a concrete layer was added. “When the excavator dug down, we could see that there were first sacks and then the tunnel. We went to look at the tunnel closely and saw sacks there with UNRWA and an American aid organization markings on them. There was no aid in these sacks, no flour or anything else,” the IDF commanding officer said.

The sacks “were found in several places in the tunnels; at least in two places that I witnessed myself,” the unit commander said. “I was not shocked to discover this, after all, we have known for years that part of Hamas’s method is to use aid funds for terror purposes.”

    The tunnel was destroyed.

Six terrorists were eliminated Wednesday an in IDF operation in Jenin.

  20. SICK! Fairfax County School Board Member Sworn In for Second Term on Stack of Banned LGBTQ Children’s Books Instead of a Bible (VIDEO)
    by Jim H?ft Dec. 15, 2023 11:00 am99 Comments

On Wednesday, Karl Frisch, a Democratic member of the Fairfax County School Board, was sworn in for his second term not on a Bible, but on a stack of banned LGBTQ children’s books.

This unconventional choice by Frisch has received criticism for attempting to normalize unacceptable behavior, which indicates moral decay.

Frisch, who is the Vice Chair of the Board and soon-to-be Chair, is both the first LGBTQ+ individual elected to local office in Fairfax County—Virginia’s largest—and one of the few openly LGBTQ+ school board members across the Commonwealth, according to Blue Virginia.

He won his re-election by more than 30 points and received a larger share of the vote (67%) than in 2019.

“Fairfax County residents want safe and inclusive schools with exceptional, well-compensated educators and equitable access to the rigorous academic and enrichment opportunities every student needs to succeed,” said Vice Chair Frisch. “

“I am grateful for the trust Providence District families have placed in me, and with tonight’s Oath, I commit to standing strong for these values and advancing these priorities with my new and returning colleagues.”

However, his recent action during the oath-taking ceremony reflects a concerning shift in societal norms. The use of banned LGBTQ books, which includes pornography, instead of a Bible, undermines the sanctity traditionally associated with the swearing-in process and represents an affront to historical values.

The books chosen for Frisch’s swearing-in ceremony include titles such as “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” “Lawn Boy,” “All Boys Aren’t Blue,” “Gender Queer,” and “Flamer.” These books, which have been subject to bans in various districts, were selected by Frisch.

According to a report by Blue Virginia, Fairfax County School Board members were given the liberty to choose any book for their swearing-in, with no specific instruction to bring a religious text.

“I’m told that Fairfax County School Board members brought whatever books they wanted to their swearing-in, were NOT told specifically to bring a religious book and were NOT provided one. Apparently, only one or two members were sworn in on a Bible, while some weren’t sworn in on any book at all,” the news outlet reported.

  21. Just in: 10 IEDs Found at US-Mexico Border-U.S. Customs and Border Protection Issues Warning (Video)
    by Margaret Flavin Dec. 15, 2023 9:15 am299 Comments

Joe Biden’s broken border raises concerns beyond the consequences of tens of thousands of illegals streaming across the porous border.

FOX Business reports that a federal law-enforcement source shared an internal officer safety alert from U.S. Customs and Border Protection on December 13th, warning CBP agents to be vigilant after the Mexican military seized 10 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the border.

According to Fox, the IEDs were found by Mexican authorities following gunshots at the U.S.-Mexico border. A Tucson supervisory border patrol agent arrested an armed person on the U.S. side who had a loaded AK-47 rifle, two loaded AK magazines, loose rounds and a handgun after hearing gunfire.

During the response, the Mexican military discovered 10 IEDs headed toward the U.S. southern border.

In the warning, CBP shares, “Agents should exercise extreme caution and should report any possible armed subjects approaching the border with possible explosive devices.”

  22. US special ops may be buying too many Armed Overwatch planes, says GAO

WASHINGTON — U.S. Special Operations Command should reconsider its plan to buy 75 Armed Overwatch aircraft, a government watchdog said Thursday.

The Government Accountability Office recommended the command slow down its acquisition of the AT-802U Sky Warden, its choice for Armed Overwatch program, beginning in fiscal 2025 until SOCOM carries out a more thorough analysis for the fleet.

Armed Overwatch is a program to field flexible, fixed-wing aircraft that Air Force Special Operations Command could deploy to austere locations. The effort would require a relatively small logistical tail.

SOCOM in 2022 selected the single-engine, two-person Sky Warden, made by L3Harris Technologies and Air Tractor, for the program and expects to spend $2.2 billion to buy the planes through FY29. The Sky Warden is intended to carry out close air support; precision strike; and armed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions for counterterrorism operations and irregular warfare.

Air Force Special Operations Command considers Armed Overwatch useful to pressure violent extremist groups in areas such as Africa, where the airspace is essentially uncontested. The aircraft would take over missions now supported by the older and retiring U-28 Draco.

But the study SOCOM performed to decide it needed 75 Armed Overwatch planes “relied on unproven assumptions” and didn’t justify a fleet of that size, GAO said in its report, titled “Special Operations Forces: DOD Should Slow Acquisition of Armed Overwatch Aircraft Until It Conducts Needed Analysis.”

When GAO ran the numbers on the commond’s force structure ratios and operational need estimates, it came up with a “substantially smaller” fleet size, though the watchdog did not say by how many.

SOCOM’s studies also made assumptions about the Armed Overwatch aircraft that didn’t reflect its expected capabilities or how it would be employed in operations, GAO said.

The office said documents and discussions with SOCOM officials showed the command had already decided it needed between 70 and 75 Armed Overwatch planes in 2019, two years before it started the necessary force structure analyses.

SOCOM also didn’t consider how changes to its mission, such as the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and possible reductions in force structure would affect its need for an Armed Overwatch plane, GAO said.

SOCOM also did not factor in whether changes in the Armed Overwatch plane’s capabilities would affect how many it would need to buy, GAO said. The Sky Warden plane on which SOCOM ultimately settled is more capable than the airplane the command originally envisioned for Armed Overwatch, which “could significantly change” how many planes it actually needs, the report said.

GAO did not rule out the possibility that the intended fleet of 75 may be fewer than SOCOM needs, since the proper analysis has not been performed. The office recommended SOCOM conduct a more thorough study of what it needs for Armed Overwatch. Until that analysis is done, GAO said, the Pentagon should require the command to only buy the minimum number of Sky Wardens needed to maintain its production line and support operational test and evaluation beginning in 2025.

The Defense Department agreed with GAO’s first recommendation and said it would analyze the force structure needed for Armed Overwatch.

The department partially agreed with the recommendation to temporarily limit Armed Overwatch acquisition, but said SOCOM will also consider whether it has enough aircraft to train the first cadre of aircrew to fly the Sky Warden and set up a training pipeline.

GAO said it agrees that training aircrews is an important part of setting up Armed Overwatch, but buying the right number of planes is important for SOCOM to set up its training plans and use personnel most efficiently.

SOCOM bought 16 Sky Wardens as of October 2023, and expects that number to rise to 28 aircraft by April 2024.

  23. New York Times Publisher: There’s a Double Standard and Conservatives Should Get Used To It
“He told me to inform the complaining conservative that that’s just how it was”

December 15, 2023 by Daniel Greenfield 8 Comments

When New York Times Editorial Page Editor James Bennett agreed to publish Senator Tom Cotton’s call to crack down on BLM, he did not realize that he was signing a death warrant for his career. Bennett, who at least kept the editorial page reasonably interesting, was ousted. Now he’s back and telling his story, at great length, in an Economist article.

One episode concerns the different treatment of conservative writers.

The Times’s failure to honour its own stated principles of openness to a range of views was particularly hard on the handful of conservative writers, some of whom would complain about being flyspecked and abused by colleagues. One day when I relayed a conservative’s concern about double standards to Sulzberger, he lost his patience. He told me to inform the complaining conservative that that’s just how it was: there was a double standard and he should get used to it. A publication that promises its readers to stand apart from politics should not have different standards for different writers based on their politics. But I delivered the message. There are many things I regret about my tenure as editorial-page editor. That is the only act of which I am ashamed.

A.G. Sulzberger is the paper’s publisher.

As conservatives, we spend a lot of time talking about double standards while the media spends a lot of time denying it. Behind closed doors though the publisher of the New York Times was apparently open about the bias.

This kicks in around Sen. Cotton’s op-ed.

He did not explain why, if the Times was an independent publication, an op-ed making a mainstream conservative argument should have to meet such different standards from an op-ed making any other kind of argument, such as for the abolition of the police.

The answer, as Sulzberger admitted, is systemic bias. When a group controls an institution or an industry, it will have two sets of standards: one for members of the in-group and another for members of the out-group.

There’s a double standard at the New York Times and across the media. Get used to it.

  24. Indiana Judge’s Order Exposes Personal Information of Hundreds of Thousands of Indiana Gun Owners
    By
    TTAG Contributor –
    December 14, 2023 52

Gary v. Glock is a 24-year-old lawsuit that refuses to die.

Attorneys for the Brady gun control operation filed the lawsuit on behalf of the City of Gary, Indiana in 1999. At that time, more than 40 cities filed similar lawsuits, which sought to hold gun makers and dealers liable for murders that were committed using firearms.

Some of the manufacturers named as defendants included GLOCK, Smith & Wesson, Colt, Sturm Ruger & Co., Beretta USA Corp. and Hi-Point. Various gun dealers – both national and local – were named in the City of Gary’s lawsuit.

Fortunately, many states and the federal government passed laws to protect the firearms industry from this type of lawfare. By 2006, almost all of these nuisance lawsuits were quashed – all except for Gary v. Glock.

The pesky lawsuit flared up again last month, when Indiana Superior Court Judge John M. Sedia denied motions to quash subpoenas for records maintained by several large Indiana gun dealers.

As a result, the suboenaed dealers must now turn over their FFL Acquisition & Disposition books to the court. Those books contain the names and addresses of hundreds of thousands of law-abiding gun purchasers.

  25. Report: Hunter Biden Threatens to ‘Flee’ America if Donald Trump Reelected

Hunter Biden reportedly threatened to take extreme action and flee the United States of America if voters reelect former President Donald Trump.

The threat represents the often neurotic nature of the president’s son, 53, who faces 42 years in prison for tax and gun charges in an ongoing investigation.

“In recent conversations with family friends, he [Hunter] has worried that he might have to flee the country if Trump were to be elected president again,” two people who spoke with Hunter told Politico’s Jonathan Lemire.

Recent polling shows Trump leading President Joe Biden in state and nationwide polling:

Morning Consult: Trump leads Biden in six of seven crucial swing states.
CNN: Trump leads Biden by three points among “men of color” voters.
NBC News: Trump leads Biden by two points.
Morning Consult: Voters trust Trump over Joe Biden on ten key issues.

Hunter Biden’s legal chaos could “damage” the 2024 election. “Members of the president’s inner circle have expressed frustration over how the matter was all but behind them,” Lemire reported. “Some Democrats believe that the trials could damage [Joe] Biden politically.”

“This Hunter story has the legs to ruin things for Biden,” a Democrat strategist told the Messenger.

“The controversy about Hunter Biden’s financial dealings might play the same role for Republicans that Hillary Clinton’s emails did in 2016,” a second Democrat strategist, Brad Bannon, told the Messenger.

House investigators opened a probe into the Biden family in November 2022. They revealed Joe Biden received money from James and Hunter Biden. They also showed that nine additional Biden family members received payments from the family’s foreign business ventures, including two of Joe Biden’s grandchildren.

More evidence against Joe Biden can be found here and here.

  26. ‘Election Interference’ Ethics Complaint Against Judge Beryl Howell Filed by Elise Stefanik
    by Kristinn Taylor Dec. 15, 2023 12:00 pm37 Comments

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) filed an ethics complaint on Friday charging election interference against Judge Beryl Howell based on a speech Howell gave last month at the Women’s White Collar Defense Association awards dinner. Howell, a former Democrat Senate Judiciary Committee staffer and Obama appointee, was awarded alongside Joe Biden’s Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.

Stefanik stated her reason for the complaint in a post on X Twitter:

“I filed a Complaint of Judicial Misconduct against Judge Beryl Howell, because election interference by judges destroys public confidence in the federal judiciary, tears apart the fabric of our Republic, and is illegal. It must end now.

“DC Obama Judge Beryl Howell gave a highly inappropriate speech in which she insinuated the election of President Trump will lead to fascism in America. She also inappropriately allowed a public display of her cozy personal relationships with her partisan friends who appear before her, including the Biden Deputy Attorney General who supervises the January 6 criminal prosecutions.”

  27. The Government Wants to Release 50 Wolves in Colorado Cattle Country

    AP Photo/Dawn Villella, File

Joe Biden’s Fish and Wildlife Service really doesn’t like people very much. On the heels of releasing up to 50 grizzly bears into the Northern Cascade Mountain National Park over the next few years despite humans living just a few miles away, the FWS now wants to start repopulating Colorado with gray wolves.

Despite opposition from the cattle industry, the FWS put the issue of repopulating Colorado with wolves to the voters. Proposition 114 squeaked by 50.91 to 49.09.

While wolves are beautiful animals, they are also extremely intelligent, crafty predators who, like other apex predators, will expend as little energy as possible to get their next meal. That means the wolves will most likely attack and kill big, fat, slow, stupid cattle rather than chase down a deer.

It may come as a surprise to some of the greens who actually voted to repopulate their state with wolves, but the reason the gray wolves disappeared from the state is that ranchers didn’t like seeing their livelihoods stolen from them. The cattlemen hunted down the grey wolves until those that were left were smart enough to leave.

    ABCNews:

The carnivores’ planned release in Colorado, voted for in a 2020 ballot measure, has already stirred controversy and sharpened divides between rural and urban residents. City dwellers largely voted to reintroduce the apex predators into the rural areas where prey can include livestock that help drive local economies.

Erin Karney, executive vice-president of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association, said they will also be requesting a temporary restraining order to halt the impending release, which will happen in the coming weeks once the wolves are caught in Oregon.

“A lot of our concerns that we brought up through the wolf management plan hearings were not adequately addressed,” Karney said. “Our members are putting our foot down and saying we can’t rush these processes. We need to take time.”

The FWS carried out a sloppy and incomplete review of the reintroduction of wolves, and the ranchers want certain guarantees.

“Impacts of wolf reintroduction…need to be properly reviewed to avoid unintended negative consequences to the natural environment, wildlife, and people of the impacted communities,” said Andy Spann, a fifth-generation rancher and president of the Gunnison County Stockgrowers Association, in a statement.

Related: Now the Left Is Going to War Against a ‘Sandwich Shop Monopoly’

Elsewhere out west, the gray wolves have been busy doing what wolves do best: hunting and killing livestock.

An analysis of state and federal data by The Associated Press found that, in 2022, gray wolves attacked domesticated animals hundreds of times across 10 states in the contiguous U.S., including Colorado.

Data showed that attacks killed or injured at least 425 cattle and calves, 313 sheep and lambs, 40 dogs, 10 chickens, five horses and four goats.

While those losses can be devastating to individual ranchers or pet owners, the industry-wide impact is minimal. The number of cattle killed or injured in the documented cases equals 0.002% of herds in the affected states, according to a comparison of depredation data with state livestock inventories.

The impact is magnified because wolf packs will stay in an area as long as hunting is easy and food is plentiful. It may not be a large number of dead cattle. But the ranchers don’t look at it that way.

    And neither should the government.

  28. Oregon Dems Ban Republicans From Running for Office
It’s the kind of “attack on democracy” that Democrats love.

December 15, 2023 by Daniel Greenfield 35 Comments
    Newsletter

After years of trying to “protect democracy” and “fortify democracy”, Democrats finally succeeded in Oregon where they banned Republicans from running for office.

That’s what the Democrat flavor of democracy looks like.

When the Tennessee House of Representatives temporarily expelled two Democrats who had taken part in an insurrection on its grounds, the media quickly turned it into a national story.

The move by the Republican majority was an “attack on democracy”.

But when the Democrat majority in Oregon banned half the Republican Senate delegation from running for reelection, that has been treated as a local story. And not an “attack on democracy”.

While much of Oregon is actually conservative, some urban and suburban populations tilt the state sharply leftward. Oregon’s conservatives, who have been otherwise shut out of the legislative process, have taken to protesting extreme bills by staging walkouts.

Using walkouts to break legislative quorums is not an unusual tactic. Democrats have done it in Texas, Indiana and Wisconsin. But when Democrats practice it, as they do in Texas, it’s cheered by the media. In 2021, for example, Texas Democrats staged a 38 day walkout to block election reform. Democrats welcomed them to D.C. and the media portrayed them as heroes.

“These folks are going to be remembered on the right side of history,” Senator Chuck Schumer had pontificated. “The governor and the Republican legislators will be remembered on the dark and wrong side of history.”

What’s the “right side of history” in Oregon where the Democrat majority is trying to ban Oregon State Senate Republicans from running for reelection because they broke Democrat quorums?

One of the reasons Republicans walked out was to stop a Democrat proposal to allow 14-year-old girls to get abortions without notifying their parents.

Oregon Senate Republicans had walked out for 43 days, as opposed to the Texas Democrat 38 day walkout. But when Democrats are in the minority, as in Texas or Tennessee, walkouts are heroic and democratic, but once they take the majority then they suppress democracy.

Oregon Dems, Bloomberg’s Everytown anti-gun group, Planned Parenthood, along with unions misrepresenting teachers, nurses and government employees, spent $2.53 million

pushing Measure 113 that would penalize Republicans for “unexcused absences”. Since the Democrat permanent majority’s leadership is responsible for deciding what is an “excused” or “unexcused” absence, Measure 113 was a partisan proposition financed by leftist billionaires and aimed at suppressing the political opposition of the rest of the state.

While the proposal to ban Republicans from running for office had $2.5 million behind it, the opposition had none. A fifth of the votes in favor came out of Multnomah County: the home of Portland. Put in charge of determining what Measure 113 actually meant were Democratic officials appointed by Democrat governors who were serving as Secretary of State and State Attorney General: who of course decided that it meant what their party wanted it to mean.

The proposed purge of much of the Republican State Senate delegation is a demonstration of what democracy looks like when it’s uncoupled from constitutional protections, free and fair elections, multiparty representation and even handed laws. And that’s why America was a republic, not a democracy. Majoritarian democracy was tried and rejected early on because it allowed a majority, like the one in Rhode Island that blocked the adoption of the Constitution in the state, to suspend basic rights, including trial by jury, as long as they have enough votes.

What’s happening in Oregon, much as in California and other states where Democrats have rigged the system for their benefit, is the nightmare of majoritarian democracy that the Founding Fathers warned against.

“When a majority is included in a faction, the form of popular government, on the other hand, enables it to sacrifice to its ruling passion or interest both the public good and the rights of other citizens. To secure the public good and private rights against the danger of such a faction, and at the same time to preserve the spirit and the form of popular government, is then the great object to which our inquiries are directed,” James Madison argued in Federalist No. 10.

The Constitution was meant to keep “the majority” from being “unable to concert and carry into effect schemes of oppression.” In a “pure democracy”, there would be “nothing to check the inducements to sacrifice the weaker party or an obnoxious individual”, that is why Madison and the Founders opted for a Republic to protect the minority against the tyranny of the majority.

James Madison, the Father of the Constitution, launched an “attack on democracy”. Oregon shows why he was right to do so. Given enough leverage, democracy will mean eliminating the political opposition. Whether it’s Oregon’s Measure 113 or Biden’s open borders, democracy turns rights into a numbers game. If one political party finds enough voters and money, the end result is a dictatorship even if it is accompanied by the annual rituals of electioneering.

Any resistance is suppressed with escalating ruthlessness as the majority, freed from any of the restraints of competitive elections, grows more extreme and abusive with every session.

Oregon Senate Republicans are battling the Democrat majority in court. At the heart of their court battle is the question of whether a majority can simply eliminate political dissent.

America is not a democracy: it’s a republic. Democracies are tribal: Republics are transcendent. Oregon shows what a democracy looks like: a dozen wolves voting to eat half a dozen sheep. That was not what the Founding Fathers wanted and democratic tyrannies with drop boxes are as Madison warned, “incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.”

When Biden and fellow Democrats warn about “attacks on democracy”, what they really mean are limitations on their unchecked power. Their idea of democracy isn’t choice but, as in Oregon, eliminating choice by criminalizing the political opposition. The best hope for the future of America is the defeat of majoritarian democracy and the return of the Republic.

  29. Chicago mayor accused of prioritizing migrants over Black community as vote to recall sanctuary status stalled
Chicago City Council delays vote that would allow residents to decide on sanctuary status
Danielle Wallace By Danielle Wallace Fox News

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was accused of prioritizing tens of thousands of migrants from the southern border over the Black community and homeless veterans on Thursday, during a special council meeting meant to consider whether residents would be asked to vote on a referendum on Illinois’ largest city’s sanctuary status.

The Chicago City Council special meeting began with time for public comment, but councilors ultimately voted to adjourn afterward without considering a resolution “authorizing a referendum question to be submitted to the voters of City of Chicago whether Chicago should continue to keep its designation as a Sanctuary City,” until it moves out of committee.

Lauren Lawrence, a woman who described herself as a Chicago native, born and raised in the city, said she witnessed a “transition as if a lot of people are not important here.”

“I’m not for the sanctuary city, and the reason why I’m not for the sanctuary city is because people have waited years to come in here legally,” she said. “Not just transported on these buses, dropped off in our neighborhood, raise of crime, almost got hit several times just making it down here today. And this is ludicrous. There should not be two sets of laws.”

  30. BREAKING: DC Judge Orders America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani to Pay $148 Million to Two Former Georgia Election Workers
    by Jordan Conradson Dec. 15, 2023 4:20 pm394 Comments

A DC jury has ruled that Rudy Giuliani owes plaintiffs $148 MILLION in Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss’ lawsuit against Giuliani for alleged defamation after he claimed the two women contributed to voter fraud in Georgia’s 2020 election.

On Thursday, attorneys for Ruby Freeman asked the jury to award just $24 million to each plaintiff plus money for emotional distress and punitive damages. The jury added an additional $100 million to Ruby and Shaye’s massive demand.

    WUSA 9 reports,

WASHINGTON — A jury awarded two former Georgia election workers $148 million in damages Thursday in their defamation suit against former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Jurors deliberated for a day-and-a-half before awarding Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shaye” Moss $73 million in compensatory damages and $75 million in punitive damages for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

During Ruby Freeman’s testimony on Wednesday, attorneys played audio recordings and displayed images of messages they claimed she received as a result of Rudy Giuliani’s statements and social media posts following the 2020 Presidential Election. Freeman further testified that she was increasingly fearful during and after the January 6 protests in DC.

The attorneys also played audio recordings of Trump telling Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger about the women and demanding Raffensperger investigate while noting the phrase “Where’s Ruby?” was trending. All the attorneys needed to do was link Giuliani to President Trump’s attempts to uncover voter fraud in the 2020 election and the events on January 6, 2021.

Rudy didn’t stand a chance against the all-things-Trump-hating jury. This is just more proof that all odds are stacked high against Giuliani and conservatives in the DC Kangaroo Courts.

In August of this year, Obama-appointed DC Judge Beryl Howell decided that Rudy Giuliani was legally liable for defaming Ruby and Shaye because he was late in producing relevant evidence to the election workers’ attorneys. So she pronounced Rudy guilty of the crime! ,STRONG>We later learned that Rudy could not turn over the documents to the attorneys because he was not holding the information – investigators were holding it in another case against Rudy. It appears investigators may have lost a significant portion of the information that was turned over.

The jury was given instructions on Thursday to deliberate on a dollar amount they think is appropriate for Rudy Giuliani to pay in damages to Ruby and Shaye.

As The Gateway Pundit reported Wednesday, Giuliani told reporters after day three of the trial that the truth would come “very, very shortly,” and he was expected to testify on Thursday.

However, the Defense rested its case on Thursday after deciding not to call Giuliani to the stand. Giuliani is expected to appeal the case.

Before the jury was brought in to hear closing arguments Thursday morning, Ruby and Shaye were observed snickering, laughing, and gossiping. In the eyes of this reporter, they looked like they were having fun. Shaye even looked back at the gallery with a huge smile on her face. However, after the jury was brought in and during closing arguments, they looked angry, in this writer’s opinion, and Shaye appeared to be wiping tears and fanning her face with a tissue.

These two ladies were likely expecting a massive payout in the far-left DC court, and they got it.

  32. Border Patrol Agent: “When Not Driving Illegals, We are Making them Sandwiches!” (Video)
    by Grant Stinchfield Dec. 15, 2023 2:20 pm142 Comments

Border Patrol agents are now telling us their morale is at an all-time low. No longer do they enforce the law or patrol “the line.” They have been relegated to paper pusher Uber drivers and sandwich makers for those here illegally.

The open border disaster now extends to every city in America. We take you to Chicago, where we uncover a warehouse housing 2700 Illegals.

This as homeless veterans are sleeping outside on the street.

  33. Chris Cuomo Shaken by Footage of Hamas Atrocities-Calls for Footage to Be Released to the Public (Video)
    by Margaret Flavin Dec. 15, 2023 2:00 pm277 Comments

Chris Cuomo was shaken after watching a 47-minute film released by the Israeli military documenting the savagery of Hamas terrorists.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas slaughtered 1,400 Israelis and foreigners in a surprise attack on civilians in southern Israel, taking at least 240 Jews and foreigners hostage.

The barbarians targeted a concert where they murdered over 200 young adults as well as attacking innocents on a beach in Israel.

After viewing the film, Cuomo shared:

Thursday was a very heavy day for me and some of my team members who went to the Israeli consulate to watch some of the footage and images collected from the Hamas massacre carried out on Oct. 7 in Israel.

The 47-minute film from the Israeli military compiles footage from that day, some of which can be found online. But a lot more than I expected was new to me, and I believe people need to see it.

I realized something that I had missed before that took me immediately and deeply into a past trauma: the exact feeling I had when I learned why 9/11 happened. Terrorists targeted the twin towers and Washington, D.C., to take out the great symbols that represent America.

The method was not madness — they were sane but just evil. The method was a message. Their unholy efforts triggered what America feared most: Terrorists robbing us of who and what we are about at home. And so, they got what they asked for — the wrath of a people united in common fear and concern that it is us or it is them. Existential.

We went after those who took credit where we could find them and used warplanes and drones and missiles and every kind of weapon and warrior we have to kill active enemies, those who hid, the complicit, the sympathetic and sometimes, even often at points, the innocent.

If there had been social media then, I don’t know how public opinion at home would have been different, but the fact that they hit us where it hurt is what mattered most.

If an enemy wanted to make sure that Israel would come for them, the message would be to take children, women, innocents and more, tie them up and burn them alive. Just like the Holocaust. The ultimate fear of what the world can bring the Jews’ way when a decision is made that Jews are less than human and treated that way in words and deeds.

I now know that is exactly the message Hamas sent, on purpose, at scale. I was not aware of that before. They did it methodically. You hear it in the voices, the commands, the ease and excitement of finding and mutilating victims. Being told, “Let them play with it.”

Merely murdering innocents was the least of it. They enjoyed mutilating and went back and celebrated in the streets with heads and bloody corpses as trophies. This was absolute genocide. That is a word that people are misapplying, and this is where it does apply.

Even more important to the terrorists apparently was what they left behind: Charred reminders of a Holocaust, the obvious desire to see as many Jews utterly destroyed as possible. There were dead women with bloody groins and twisted, disfigured legs that the Israel Defense Forces says are part of a pattern of rape and torture.

The 47 minutes show a small fraction of the dead, but it makes it very clear that Hamas wanted war. This was not the irrepressible angst of the desperate who want freedom, who want better, nor certainly want anything approximating peace. They wanted the Jews to know that they want them to burn — again.

I now understand better what is fueling Israel. This is not tit-for-tat. They are fueled by the deepest fears of genocide because those fears are real.

I am not trying to erase or in any way mitigate the massive death toll of civilians in Gaza or diminish the obvious need for the violence to stop. If anything, after seeing the video, there is an increased urgency to avoid what could still come because this could get much worse.

However, it is easy to say stop, but it is very hard to say how. Why?

Because seeing what the terror group in charge of Gaza did to the Jews and has promised to do again, how does Israel risk being vulnerable to those who do not honor agreements and have made it very clear they don’t want peace? They want to burn and kill the Jews.
