Reader’s Links for December 10th, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression.

  1. Skimming through the wasteland of Netflix last night for a movie I came across a new one: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leave_the_World_Behind_(film)

What caught my eye about it were the two names listed as Producers:Barack and Michelle Obama. You will notice in the Wikipedia above, the producer has somehow changed from the person listed on the actual film. Why the desired degree of separation now that it’s out? Why the sudden second thought?

My first feeling was the boldness of the former President to go into the movie business. I don’t mean this positively: I realize it is ludicrous to say what I will say since we all know the corruption in every western democracy is so very ripe and juicy on the vine, but the Obamas should not be movie producers. They should not be as wealthy as they are. They are not, nor have ever been, business people. I guess they have really, really good pensions.

My next curiosity was the message. After all, I don’t doubt for a second Obama’s proficiency in Hegelian dialectics. And so here we are presented on a silver-screened platter the money man’s first direct foray into pop-culture messaging. Of all the things he can say in the information battle space he helped create, what message will he prioritize? It hardly matters he is not listed as the writer as much as it doesn’t matter his name was dropped from the Wikipedia entry. Obama paid for it so owns it.

In comparison, I try to imagine a Nixon or an Eisenhower or a Kissinger doing the same kind of project after holding office, but cannot. Those titans, love them or not, got where they were through brains, determination and a different kind of boldness. I say different because they made themselves, as opposed to O who was undoubtedly a made man. Nixon drove himself to the top of his mountain. O was in the passenger seat with the Democratic party machine behind the wheel, chauffeuring their Manchurian candidate to the pinnacle.

The story begins with Julia Roberts declaring she hates people. I very quickly felt like O was going to take the opportunity to speak to us through every character, as does the former First Lady. The only problem for them is that this is a borderline “B” movie. Their voices are trite and pedestrian. Dialectics are more effective when passing through more than a single media filter, I find. Or, maybe more accurately, the medium of film requires greater skill to effectively replicate the higher level of fiction that pseudo-reality dialecticians manage through bought politicians, legacy media, global corporations, and globalist NGOs.

O channels himself through the handsome, erudite black lead man. M channels herself through the tough, tattooed black daughter of the lead. Whites are weak and subject to class inversion–renters not owners. The black daughter is the secret desire of the white son, the black lead the secret desire of the white mother. Every character except the lead man constantly spouts profanities, including the children.

The petroleum industry beaches itself, symbolically at the films opening. (Climate change, don’tcha know). Nature pleads for mercy to the beginner’s childmind through packs of deer that only the child sees.

The country is under attack by cyber warfare. This paltry theme is that America is finally paying for her sins as a nation, so the nation must end. She is quickly devolving into civil war. We get a Tower of Babel moment with a Mexican migrant. We get “synchronized disinformation” and noise so painful that it must be the physical manifestation of this same disinformation. We get weaponized technology via weaponized Teslas. Actually, what we have here is a movie about America falling apart made by a former President whose mission was to make America fall apart. So it is a continuation of his unofficial role. We are also fed the sight of a sad American flag alienated on the moon, and the message of extreme Islamic dissatisfaction with all of us.

The punchline to it all, as a disclaimer coming directly from O so to excuse himself from any direct involvement, is that no one is in control. Convenient, this, coming from the man who very likely is very influential to the currently vacant Presidency.

I found most ironic the insightful criticism directed at the young white daughter who obsesses over the sit-com Friends. If I recall right it is the black daughter who asks: how can you be nostalgic for a time in which you’ve never lived?

I’ve asked this same question here, at VTB, over the years on numerous occasions in my writings, thinking it was an original thought. It turns out nothing much is original, most particularly this circle jerk of a Hollywood movie.

  2. Safe and effective vaccines

Ireland’s “Department of Health” claims that the recent increase in excess mortality is “an indicator of the impact of climate change” and says that heart related issues and tumors were some of he leading causes of climate- related deaths last year.

Canada “top” doc says climate, white supremacy, and blah, blah, blah are making peoplekind sick.

When I was a kid and someone told us a fabricated story, we would sing “And the farmer took another load away”.

When Yuval Noah Harari speaks of the “common, little, useless eaters, does this psychotic World Economic Forum clown not understand “We the people” actually can differentiate between health and political lunacy?

  3. The CEO of The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced that they are, by far, the largest philanthropic donor to The World Health Organization. The foundation provides a whopping 88% of all voluntary funding. This funding makes up about three quarters of the WHO’s annual budget. Most voluntary contributions are specified, meaning they are tied to a specific program or health campaign, GIVING THE CONTRIBUTOR INFLUENCE OVER HOW THEY USE THE FUNDS.

So if one has billions invested on vaccines………….

  6. HHS Secretary Launches Stealth Attack on Pregnancy Centers
by Guest Contributor Dec. 10, 2023 10:30 am

Plans rule change that would hurt needy people in 4 states

Joe Biden’s HHS secretary, Xavier Becerra, a radical abortion promoter, is launching a stealth attack on pro-life pregnancy centers in four states, according to the SBA Pro-Life America organization.

His plan is to ban the use of TANF dollars, those available under the program for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, in pro-life pregnancy centers.

According to SBA’s Katie Daniel, such a move goes directly against the support among the American people for the centers.

The rule change, proposed “stealthily” by Becerra weeks ago, would ban the use of TANF funding for pregnancy resource centers in Missouri, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Indiana.

  7. California School District Holds Antisemitic ‘Teach-in’ Using Imagery That Mirrors Nazi Propaganda
by Margaret Flavin Dec. 10, 2023 9:30 am

Across California’s Oakland Unified School District on Wednesday, teachers took part in a disturbing “teach-in” about the Palestinian cause, which utilized anti-Israel and antisemitic materials.

Organizers for the “Gaza to Oakland Teach-in” promoted the event in a video in late November.

While the promotional video purports to want to provide “balance” in the discussion of the ongoing conflict, it does feel the need to address Hamas’ use of rape as a weapon of war or their kidnapping and murder of civilians.

  8. How Fat Pride became the new battleground in America’s culture wars: One in six US deaths linked to obesity but liberal states are banning fatphobia with discrimination laws

Sitting picturesquely in the foothills of the hiking and skiing mecca of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder isn’t known as America’s fittest city for nothing.

Intimidatingly hale and hearty, it’s a place where bars and restaurants are dead by 9pm so locals can fit in an early morning ski or mountain-bike climb before work.

It sits at 5,430ft above sea level so endurance athletes from all over the world come to train here. Boulder’s social calendar is packed with a daunting series of strenuous events including an annual 10km road race that attracts 50,000 runners, a plunge into an iced-over lake and a ‘Tube To Work Day’ in which commuters hurtle down the rapids of a river clinging to car tyre inner tubes.

  9. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs demands $512M reimbursement from Biden in scathing letter accusing him of failure to secure southern border

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, has accused President Joe Biden of failing to secure the southern border, and is seeking half a billion dollars in federal reimbursement for the state’s spending on the crisis.

In a letter on Friday, which Hobbs released publicly, the governor requested more than $512 million in federal funds to reimburse state spending on migrant transport, drug interdiction, and law enforcement ‘due to the federal government’s failure to secure our border.’

It comes after Customs and Border Protection encounters with migrants at the southern border reportedly hit a one-day high of 12,000 on Tuesday, including more than 10,200 who were detained illegally entering the US from Mexico between ports of entry.

On Monday, CBP closed the Lukeville border crossing in Arizona indefinitely, in order to surge agents from the crossing to help arrest and process a flood of migrants walking across the border to claim asylum.

The desolate area around the remote crossing has become a global migration route in recent months, with smugglers dropping off people from countries as far flung as Senegal, India and China.

  10. I sure am glad I’m not Biden’s food-taster!
    By Mark C. Ross

Few things are as enjoyable as watching one’s political opponents wrestle on the horns of a dilemma. Today’s Democrats are trying to reconcile a seriously unpopular incumbent president who’s intending to seek re-election with the threat of their sworn arch-enemy regaining his grip on the reins of power.

Further complicating this dilemma is the palpable lack of talent available for the Dems to put in Biden’s place. Perhaps their most attractive possibility is California’s Governor “Hair Gel.” He’s been out there getting plenty of face time, but he doesn’t have much of a record of success — other than chasing away significant components of his state’s tax base. It is just becoming noticed that California has budgeted to spend tens of billions more than it has collected. What remains under the radar is the juicy tidbit that Newsom’s ex-wife is seriously shacked up with Donald Trump, Jr. Should make for some interesting moments in the Trump war room once the battles begin.

Though she may be tan and rested, Hillary doesn’t budge the meter. Speaking of former presidential spouses, there’s lingering buzz about Michelle Obama entering the fray. The pooh-poohers claim she’s way too happy just where she is at Mahthah’s Vinyahd. But ambition can do strange things.

The other horn of the dilemma has to do with figuring out an elegant way of getting Biden to retire. It is frequently speculated that the recent package of indictments heaped on First Son Hunter is a not so subtle attempt at this objective — hardly elegant but possibly effective.

Biden’s success thus far has to do with his willingness to be a good puppet. This may protect him from the covert movement to push him out of the way. Those pulling his strings would likely not have as much control over anybody else. However, he would first need to get re-elected — and the more the Democrats try to damage Trump, the more Trump rises in the polls.

This would be a delight to watch — except that the destiny of all the USA is hanging in the balance. The election is still more than ten months away, an eternity in politics. This may allow enough time for some “dark horse” to emerge as a credible Trump-beater, but time is running out.

Were I a gambler, I would still bet on Biden being the nominee. Along with that, Trump would face an increasing mountain of legal challenges — and still win in a landslide, which will include Congress as well. What is also not mentioned much is that only ten Republican senators are going to be up for re-election. This can only mean that the Democrats have enormous exposure in a year where they face extraordinary challenges for a multitude of reasons.

And this just in: Biden just bent some rules in order to ship some crucial munitions to Israel. Working on the Jewish vote? Maybe…more likely Jewish campaign contributions. All this as Democrats, in general, are offering up Jews for genocide. Strange bedfellows, indeed.

Wait…what’s this? Incoming call from Vladimir Putin’s office. Their food-taster just checked out on medical leave and they need a replacement. “Sorry, I’m booked.”

  11. A Massacre of History in Colorado

The main victim in this exhibit is history itself

Every school child in Colorado is taught about the Sand Creek Massacre of 1864. On a wintry day in November of that year, an untrained and undisciplined territorial militia attacked an Indian camp near the eastern border of the territory leaving 150 to 200 dead. The tragedy has long been the subject of roiling debate about who or what was to blame. When the History Colorado Center opened a new exhibit on the event in 2012, visitors were offered competing perspectives of Indian, soldier, and settler.

The exhibit was immediately assailed by native activists for not taking an exclusively “indigenous perspective.” They demanded “co-authorship” of the exhibit, which was shut down. Last year, a revised exhibit opened, greased by a $400,000 federal grant. The History Colorado Center announced proudly that the entire show had been “vetted and approved by tribal representatives.” The Denver Post enthused that “there are no detached experts on local history telling the story about how things happened.”

The result is a farce. It portrays the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes whose members were killed that day as peaceable spiritualists who spent their days nurturing family and staring at the skies. Malicious whites out to steal their land and commit genocide set upon them unprovoked. The whole thing just goes to show the need for “contemporary sovereignty” for native Americans as well as billions in reparations for centuries of harms.

  12. At least 5,600 federal-only ballots cast in Arizona 2020 election without US citizenship proof

Arizona is “one of the only states to have bifurcated elections,” said former Arizona Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright.

More than 5,600 federal-only ballots were cast in the 2020 presidential election in Arizona, without proof of U.S. citizenship required by the voters who cast them, according to data from the state’s counties.

Arizona is a state with the unusual situation of bifurcated elections, in which residents who provide proof of U.S. citizenship can vote in all elections while the others may vote only in federal elections, resulting in ballots cast by voters who haven’t proven their U.S. citizenship.

Arizona law requires residents registering to vote in the state to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.

However, after the Supreme Court ruled in 2013 that Arizona must accept U.S. voter registration forms because of federal requirements under the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, the state allows residents registering to vote who don’t provide proof of citizenship to receive ballots for federal races only.

It is unclear whether the Iranian officials will be affected by the sanctions at all.

The U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions against two Iranian intelligence officials for allegedly recruiting individuals for assassination operations targeting U.S. officials.

Working on behalf of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security, Majid Dastjani Farahani and Mohammad Mahdi Kanpour Ardestani “recruited individuals for various operations in the United States, to include lethal targeting of current and former U.S. Government officials as revenge for the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force Commander Qasem Soleimani,” the Treasury said Friday. “Farahani and Ardestani also recruited individuals for surveillance activities focused on religious sites, businesses, and other facilities in the United States.”

The sanctions against Farahani and Ardestani were announced alongside sanctions against people in Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti, Liberia, China, South Sudan and Uganda. The Treasury said it purposely announced the

  14. Squatter Granted Ownership of Old Man’s House, Sells It for More Than Half a Million While the Elder Lives on Paltry Pension
by Rachel M. Emmanuel, The Western Journal Dec. 10, 2023 4:40 pm42 Comments

The idea that a total stranger could sell a house you own without your permission, pocket all the proceeds, and then blame you for making his life a “nightmare” sounds like the plot of a movie.

But that is exactly what happened to a U.K. resident named Colin Curtis, according to Metro UK.

The property originally belonged to Doris Curtis, who died in the 1980s and left her house to her son, Colin. Mr. Curtis moved out in 1996 to live in another inherited property but continued paying the tax on the Newbury Park house in East London.

In 1997, a man named Keith Best noticed that the house was vacant and started renovating it. Best said he spent about $188,000 renovating the empty three-bedroom semi-detached house, eventually moving his family into the house in 2012.

Best then filed an adverse possession claim to become the registered owner, according to The Daily Mail.

  15. Anti-Semitism in New York: Jewish Man Attacked and Beaten Outside His Home on First Night of Hanukkah
    by David Greyson Dec. 10, 2023 4:20 pm83 Comments

A Jewish man was attacked and beaten in front of his home in New York on the first night of Hanukkah.

Joshua Merenfeld, 40, was attacked on Friday night while standing outside in front of his apartment building in Crown Heights in Brooklyn.

The father of five was enjoying his night and minding his own business when an unknown attacker approached him. He called him a “Dirty Jew,” then hit him repeatedly and stomped on him after he fell to the ground. During the attack, he continued to say more anti-Semitic words and profanities.

  16. Ramaswamy Sheds Light on the Climate Cult’s Plot to Steal Land from Americans
by Jack Davis, The Western Journal Dec. 10, 2023 3:00 pm128 Comments

One of the major founding ideals behind the creation of the United States is being threatened right now in Iowa, according to Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

John Locke, the Enlightenment thinker whose writings were mined in the production of the Declaration of Independence, believed that the fundamental natural rights of man were life, liberty, and property, according to Teach Democracy.

The last is now in danger as Iowa farmers could be forced to sell their property so that carbon-capture pipelines can crisscross the Midwest, Ramaswamy said in a video posted to X.

“The Great Reset now comes to your backyard. It’s dead wrong & unconstitutional to use *eminent domain* to seize farmland to advance the global climate cult’s carbon capture pipelines in the American midwest. Shame on the GOP Establishment for its silence on this critical issue in Iowa,” he wrote in the post.

“The Climate Cult has nothing to do with the climate. That is one of the many reasons why it is a hoax,” he said, adding that the goal is to help China at America’s expense.

Noting the use of eminent domain to take land for the project from those who do not wish to sell, he said, “think of that unconstitutional violation, that World Economic Forum vision that you have no property. Well, now they’re bringing that to the back yards of even Iowa farmers in the United States.

Ramaswamy opposes eminent domain for private companies and has criticized other GOP presidential candidates for not taking a stand on the issue, according to the Iowa Capital Dispatch.

  17. US Senator Reveals Chilling Way World Governments Spy on Smartphone Users
by Jack Davis, The Western Journal Dec. 10, 2023 2:40 pm143 Comments

A U.S. senator is asking for some straight answers about the extent governments have been able to spy on Americans through their smartphones.

Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon recently wrote Attorney General Merrick Garland to kick free information Apple and Google have said the federal government is keeping under wraps.

Wyden indicated that he had particular concern over information shared with foreign governments.

A report in The Washington Post said that based on a review of court records, searching what are known as push notifications in order to develop a map of a targeted individual’s contacts, was used in the investigations of participants in the protests of Jan. 6, 2021, and the Capitol incursion that followed.
