Reader’s Links for December 3rd, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression.

  1. This one is worthy of two listens if you are interested in money. Brett Johnson, originator of the USD global milkshake theory, explains how he sees things. According to him the USD is the strongest of all fiats. He explains the dilemma of the Fed having to choose between saving the dollar or U.S. government bonds in the face of debt too big to settle.

Inflation, as bad as it has been, has still been mitigated in the U.S. because of the world’s huge appetite for dollars. This drain of dollars extra-U.S. has been protective domestically. Other countries don’t have this drain because they are not the world reserve currency. It is for this reason that fiat printing of all non-USD will weaken foreign currencies faster than the USD. The U.S. also has the advantage of the inflow of foreign liquidity because of external USD demand.

He sees the Fed conducting a controlled demolition of the economy. There will be many home owners defaulting on their mortgages. The government will step in and take an ownership stake in all of them. He does see this as advancing totalitarianism.

Johnson sites the forgotten depression of 1920 to say how our current problems can be fixed. He also says this won’t happen today, because the monster that is government will never step back to allow markets to self-heal. His advice is to own gold and diversify. He is not a gold bug or gold seller.

  2. Barbra Streisand has lots of spare room! Astonishing moment boat full of migrant lands on MALIBU beach over 100 miles from Mexico-California border, close to home of megastar who lashed Trump’s wall

EXCLUSIVE: Video from a contact in Malibu shows a panga boat full of suspected illegal immigrants landing on a beach near his home this week. Incredibly rare to see this so far north, as Malibu is 100+ miles away from the border. Unclear if anyone caught, awaiting a CBP response.

  4. One hundred page report from a London-based think tank concluded that Qatar and Turkey are “bankrolling” and supporting an interlinked network of Muslim Brotherhood hoods Organizations across Europe.
Doha and Ankara are bankrolling, supporting networks according to the UAE outlet The National.

A report from the International Center for the study of Radicalization at King’s College London, titled “The Islamic Movement in Britain, said Doha’s funds flowed through Qatar Charity to bodies based in Britain and elsewhere.

The authors highlighted that some of the recipients of charity take their cues from Yusah Al-Qaradwi, an Egyptian-born but Doha-based Islamic theologian credited as the Muslim Brotherhood’s chief ideological.

  5. Winston Churchill said “If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival.

There may even be a worse case, you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to parish than to live as slaves”.

  6. I just ordered a life alert bracelet, so if I am ever allowed to get a life back, the feckless government of Justine Trudeau / Jagmeet Singh, will notify me.

The road is long with many a winding curve……….

      • I am fine thank you. I was actually being sarcastic. I put a lot of lights on evergreen trees, to light up the night. The ground is now covered with snow and it is really quite lovely.

From now to Christmas there is supposed to be meteor showers every night — most action around 9 PM.

As we retire to our beds at night hoping that our worries won’t keep us awake, the angels are already turning on God’s porch lights – the stars in the sky.

Stay safe, do your best to keep on the sunny side.

  7. Remember when Justine Trudeau said “vaccine passports are all about rewarding certain freedoms to people who have “done he right thing” — and that those who “still resist” simply won’t get to enjoy the same freedoms”.

Goring said “Any country can get its people to do what they want them to do”.

“Silence them, call them conspiracy theorists for the “Greater good”.

I still preferred the time in Canada when the Prime Minister and the village idiot were two different people.

Why did the drug companies skip the animal testing and long term safety trials?
Why did the FDA suppress ivermectin and other life saving medications?
Why did politicians push for universal vaccination, knowing the risks of blood clotting, stroke, cardiac arrest and death?
Why was the CDC, a private company allowed sooo much power?

A pandemic of Political Power – absolute social control of the useless, bottom feeders, the little people, the unwanted. A catastrophe of epic mass mortality. Will the next “Catastrophic Contagion“ help reduce the world population closer to the magic number the mad eugenists, the elites at the World Economic Forum, the EU, UN are aiming at?

Why are politicians who join the WEF not charged with treason?

  9. Johnny, I hope you appreciate this story.

Last year I replaced all my windows in my house with those expensive, double- pane, energy-efficient kind. Today I got a call from the company that installed them. The man complained that the work had been done for a year, and I still had not paid for them.

Helloooo….just because I am blonde doesn’t mean that I am automatically stupid. so, I told him just what his fast-talking sales guy had told me last year…..that these windows would pay for themselves in a year.

Helloooo, it’s been a year, so they’re paid for, I told him. There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally hung up. He never called back. I bet he felt like an idiot!

  11. The University Horrors: Chapter and Verse
    Here’s what happened. Everywhere.

[…] The October 7 Hamas massacre of more than 1,400 in Israel horrified most of the country and the democratic world. But the administration’s critique offered a glimpse at a far different reaction at colleges and universities -especially at elite institutions, increasingly dominated by an enforced orthodoxy in key corners of campus life; and at blue-state public universities, which draw from more left-of-center student populations who in recent years have grown sharply critical of Israel.

At these schools, the mass murder and kidnapping of Israeli civilians aroused great passion – but not for the victims. The passion came, instead, from critics of Israeli policies toward the Palestinians and in many cases of Israel’s existence itself. Large student protests indifferent (at most) to the Hamas massacre have accompanied statements from faculty, particularly in the humanities and related fields, excusing, whitewashing, or even celebrating Hamas’s actions.

And university leaders, so accustomed to addressing political crises with ideologically charged statements reflecting the majority viewpoints on campus, often retreated to nebulous remarks or simply remained silent.

Harvard set the tone. Almost immediately after the Hamas attacks, a coalition of 34 student groups issued a joint statement holding “the Israeli regime entirely responsible” for “all the unfolding violence.” Formulated as the IDF desperately sought to save Israeli civilians within Israeli territory, the statement didn’t condemn Hamas’s targeting of civilians. It didn’t mention the mass slaughter of many college-age Israelis at a rave. It didn’t call for the release of hostages. It did demand “a firm stand against colonial retaliation.”

Earlier in the decade, senior Harvard officials had forcefully condemned the killing of George Floyd and the Russian invasion of Ukraine…
