Reader’s Links for November 24th, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression.

  1. I am thankful for the friends and family that I have left. I am thankful for the people here at VTB who help each other understand. I am even thankful for the people who, by the generous, firm principles of Vlad, are permitted to post their opinions here despite their inability to understand what is true. For you are the recipients of true tolerance, in the classical sense, of open discourse in the pursuit of truth. Don’t forget this. And while this blog may appear small, its real size can be measured by Vlad’s occasional reports of the frequent cyber attacks and vicious comments that we pedestrians to the site do not see. So, she’s bigger than she looks. Just sayin’.

  7. Muslims in shock over anti-Islam party’s Dutch poll win

    By Bart H. Meijer

THE HAGUE (Reuters) – Dutch Muslims expressed shock on Thursday at the election win of far-right populist Geert Wilders, who has previously called for mosques and the Koran to be banned in the Netherlands.

Wilders and his Freedom Party (PVV) beat all predictions on Wednesday night by winning 37 seats out of 150 in the Dutch parliament, well ahead of a Labour/Green combination and the outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s conservatives.

“These election results are shocking for Dutch Muslims. We did not expect such a party with a programme that is against the basic principles of the rule of law to be so big,” said Muhsin Koktas of Muslim organization CMO.

Muslims make up around 5% of he Dutch population of almost 18 million people.

“It was a blow I have to process,” Abdessamad Taheri, a 45-year old community worker in the multi-ethnic Schilderswijk neighbourhood in The Hague told Reuters.

Mehdi Koc, a 41-year-old insulation installer, said he was shocked by the swing to the PVV, while Taheri said the vote sent different messages to Muslims, although the overwhelming emotion was of disappointment.

“In part the message is that many people are xenophobic and don’t want foreigners or Muslims. But another message is that people are very disappointed in 13 years of Rutte,” he said.

New Jersey’s American Dream mall – the second largest mall in the country – was evacuated minutes after it opened on Black Friday because of a bomb threat that was later deemed unfounded, police said.

Around 7:13 a.m. ET on Friday, just after American Dream opened its doors at 7 a.m., a person told police there was a bomb inside the facility, forcing officers to evacuate the shopping center so they could search it, a spokesperson for the New Jersey State Police told CNBC.

  10. Pro-abortion extremist who firebombed pro-life headquarters agrees to plead guilty

The attack was part of a broader nationwide wave of pro-abortion anger, threats, and violence triggered by the leak and subsequent confirmation of Roe’s demise.

(LifeSiteNews) — The perpetrator of a 2022 firebombing of Dairy State pro-life group Wisconsin Family Action has agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a yet-to-be-determined prison sentence of less than 20 years.

In the early hours of Mother’s Day 2022, following the May leak of a draft of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that would overturn Roe v. Wade, WFA’s Madison headquarters was hit with an arson attack that burned one of the walls. The building was also defaced with a graffiti threat that “if abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either,” as well as an anarchist “A” symbol and “1312,” a numerical representation of the acronym for “All Cops Are B—s.” A Molotov cocktail that failed to ignite was thrown through a closed window as well.

In March 2023, police in Boston, Massachusetts, arrested Madison biochemist Hridindu Sankar Roychowdhury at the airport for a flight to Central America, after an investigation found his DNA at the crime scene. He was charged with “one count of attempting to cause damage by means of fire or an explosive,” according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), a crime carrying a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and maximum of 20.

Now the Associated Press reports that Roychowdhury, now 30, signed a plea agreement on Nov. 20 that admits his guilt in the attack in exchange for a recommendation that he not receive the maximum punishment. A judge will review the plea deal on Dec. 1.

DNA of two other individuals was also found at the scene, although it is currently unknown if it has been linked to anyone else who may have participated in the crime.

The attack was part of a broader nationwide wave of pro-abortion anger, threats, and violence triggered by the leak and subsequent confirmation of Roe’s demise, which included 88 attacks on nonprofit pregnancy centers and more than 200 attacks on Catholic churches, as well as intimidating protests outside Republican-appointed justices’ homes — with the approval of the Biden White House and then-House Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi — and even a man who planned to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Roychowdhury’s crime was not the only incident that Wisconsin Family Action endured, either. Following the attack, the group received a series of angry and threatening voicemails from pro-abortion radicals, including “Burn, little Jesus freaks” and other death wishes, a declaration that the arsonist was a “true American patriot,” obscenities, general expressions of contempt, and a suggestion that pro-abortion violence was some sort of logical progression from abortion activists unsuccessfully “trying for years to deal with this nonviolently.”

  11. Unhinged Former CIA Director Michael Hayden Compares Patriotic Americans to Terrorists
    by Margaret Flavin Nov. 24, 2023 12:20 pm0 Comments

The Gateway Pundit has reported on the numerous incidents of former CIA Director Michael Hayden’s unhinged behavior and violent rhetoric against American citizens.

Now, Hayden is comparing patriotic Christian Americans who believe in the Second Amendment to terrorists.

An X post shows a picture of a woman holding an American flag, a bible, and a gun next to a terrorist holding the Koran and a gun.

Hayden responds, “No different at all.”

Flash Sale On MyPillow’s Giza Dream Sheets – “The Nicest I’ve Ever Owned”

That’s right. A former General in the United States military and the man who led the CIA thinks Christian grandmothers who love America and embrace a constitutionally given right to bear arms are the same as terrorists who actively seek to murder civilians.

Hayden has a long list of violent ideations far more extreme than the good Americans he relentlessly smears.

In 2022, he trolled for the execution of President Trump after the nuclear documents hoax report.

In October, Hayden called for the extermination of Republican pro-life Senator Tommy Tuberville in a post on X.

After being called out on the Tuberville post, he doubled down, “I was surprised to wake up this morning and discover that many MAGAnuts had lost their minds over my suggestion that ‘Coach’ Tuberville not be considered a member of the human race. I stand by that view. I’m wishing you all a nice day even the intransigent Tommy Tuberville.”

In the midst of the COVID pandemic, Hayden said it was a “good idea” to send unvaccinated Trump supporters to Talban-controlled Afghanistan.

Hayden also suggested the men and women of DHS, ICE, and CBP, were equivalent to the Nazi SS.
In 2019, Hayden even smeared The Gateway Pundit with a false allegation of remarks in our report on former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva, the ONLY Steeler to come out of the locker room on the field for the National Anthem before a game during the height of the virtue signaling kneeling epidemic.
The Gateway Pundit cheered Alejandro for being the only Steelers player to stand at attention during the National Anthem at the home game in Pittsburgh, which Hayden framed as “getting racial pretty quick.”

Of course, this was a completely inaccurate and irresponsible statement, and lawyers for TGP sent a letter to Mr. Hayden demanding a correction.

Hayden is also on the Advisory Board at Newsguard, a controversial anti-Trump “fact check” group that targets and smears conservative publishers

  12. Star Comedian Has Seen Enough, Declares ‘Joe Biden Has Dementia’
by George C. Upper III, The Western Journal Nov. 24, 2023 12:00 pm77 Comments

Stand-up comedian, actor and podcast host Theo Von said in an X post that he was sick of “pretending” that President Joe Biden doesn’t have dementia.

“Joe Biden has dementia,” he wrote on the social media platform Monday. “Can we please stop parading him around and pretending he [doesn’t]?

“Its [sic] honestly sad to do that to a senior citizen,” he added. “If someone did that to my dad or grampa [I] would whooop their a**.”

Joe Biden has dementia. Can we please stop parading him around and pretending he doesnt. Its honestly sad to do that to a senior citizen. If someone did that to my dad or grampa i would whooop their ass.

    — Theo Von (@TheoVon) November 20, 2023

Responding to others who replied to his post, Von, who was born Theodor Capitani von Kurnatowski III, said Biden’s handlers were “sick” and were drawing others into their scheme by inducing something akin to mass “Stockholm syndrome” in Americans.

  13. Meet the New Dark Age
    By Mark C. Ross

Not quite the same as the old Dark Age. The old Dark Age happened when the corporate governmental structure of Rome collapsed, allowing hordes of tribal heathens to overrun what had been the empire’s domain. Today’s Dark Age is instead happening because modern governments continue to become ever more powerfully intrusive into what used to be private affairs, using their assumed authority to enforce some sort of contrived orthodoxy and thus moving towards politicizing just about everything.

This is particularly obvious in the various fields of science. Having previously been the means by which civilization crawled out from the old Dark Age, science today is festooned with corruption. Back when it was tasked with the objective process of unraveling the mysteries of our world, science flourished. Nowadays science is largely in the business of acquiring politically controlled government grants. Exploiting various sexy fields of study to provide politically useful data and conclusions — even if their accuracy is suspect — is the key to professional success. Weather and climate are obviously at the top of the list for this kind of work. In spite of all this, there still are some non-governmental interests that manage to privately fund research, mostly to develop profitable and patentable innovations… much as in the past.

The mystical nature of climate hysteria harkens back to the old Dark Age. No detailed explanations are ever presented to support the alarm — such as how does CO2 actually trap heat on the Earth’s surface, especially when it’s only less than 0.05% of what “air” is made of? Faith in the concept is supposed to be sufficient… and skeptics are verbally pilloried for their deviation from orthodoxy. Sound familiar?

In a classic gesture of obedient compliance with this orthodoxy, President Biden made John Kerry America’s ambassador to the upper atmosphere. He looks and sounds the part. He reeks of assumed authority. And, having mashed potatoes for brains, he’ll say whatever his programmers want. It never makes any sense, but it has the tone of a serious effort. I just saw him on the PBS version of the BBC. His remarks were so stupid that I had to cut the feed. Looking and sounding the part without any actual substance only works in the depths of a serious Dark Age.

Point of reference: All plant and animal life on Earth, including the buried fossil fuels, is mostly composed of carbon and its various chemical compounds. All this carbon has been previously extracted from (guess what) the atmosphere. The fatuous mysticism underpinning weather hysteria is classic dark age stuff. Science, however, doesn’t work this way. Peer review, the exposure of one’s findings and conclusions to possible criticism by others working in the same field… in order to more thoroughly validate such findings… is the foundation of scientific progress. Paying researchers to follow dictated guidelines, in order to get politically expedient results has nothing to do with progress.

    Taking Pride in Murder
    By Michael Widlanski

There is a great word in Yiddish that sums up the warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you or one of your family does something really great, something noteworthy, something memorable.

Nakhas. Accent on the first syllable.

It really is a great feeling. It is a sense of pride and accomplishment. You want to call friends, go crazy on social media, and send lots of “selfies.”

Your kid just got into med-school or your grandkid just won an Olympic Gold medal or your recipe book just made it to the Times bestseller list. That’s nakhas.

You cannot have enough Nakhas. When it comes from your kids or grandkids, it’s known as nakhas foon kinder — pride and joy from children.

There are many jokes about Jews being proud about “my son, the doctor.”

Sadly, in Palestinian Arab society that pride is bestowed on “my son, the martyr,” and now, even, “my son, the murderer.”

Although I have lived and traveled extensively among Arabs, especially the Palestinians, learning several dialects of Arabic, I was astonished by a poll this week about the greatest source of pride for the Palestinians.

Most Palestinian Arabs get that warm and fuzzy feeling — nakhas — from the brutally successful terror attack of October 7, 2023. Ninety-seven percent. Yes, 97%.

Ninety-four percent were very proud. Three percent were “somewhat proud.” About two percent had reservations about their pride.

Try This Simple Hack to Eliminate Toenail Fungus [Watch]
    LifeHakk

That is the finding of the latest poll done by Arab World for Research and Development (AWRAD) in Ramallah.

It is a poll of Palestinian Arabs by Palestinian Arabs, and it asked directly, “Considering the ongoing events, do you feel a sense of pride as a Palestinian?”

In the West Bank, where the PLO has ruled for 30 years, 94.1 percent said they felt pride “to a great extent” in connection to the Hamas attack (which the poll called “resistance”). 4.1 percent said they felt proud “so some extent.” In other words, 98.2% of PLO-governed West Bankers were proud of the Hamas “resistance.”

In Gaza, where Hamas has ruled almost two decades, Palestinians were surer of their pride about murder rape and mayhem. The poll found 94.6% felt proud “to a great extent,” and 3.2% “to some extent” about the Hamas attack.

In other words, 97.8% of Gazans were proud of the attack that murdered 1,200 Israelis, including many babies, women, and elderly — the vast majority unarmed civilians.

The pride question shows what Palestinians feel in their gut about murdering Israelis. Another question asks about supporting the attack itself, letting the respondent deal with the possibility that murdering Israelis may prove counterproductive to Palestinian interests.

When asked if they thought the attack was a good idea, or as the poll expressed it “do you support the military operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance led by Hamas,” the results were therefore more mixed.

In Gaza, 46.6% strongly support the attack and 17% “somewhat” support it. About 35% show various levels of reservation regarding the attack, apparently because of its devastating results in Gaza.

In the West Bank, where Palestinians have not felt anything like the power Israel has used in Gaza, about 83% support “the operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance led by Hamas.”

One clear take-away is that Palestinian Arabs do not love Palestinian Jews, i.e. Israelis. They take pride in the murder, dismemberment, and rape of Israelis.

Another lesson is that tough anti-terror policy sways views about the benefits (istifaada in Arabic) of terror. Sending bombs, not cement, affects even the harsh views of Gaza’s Arabs.

For them, 1948 was the Nakba — the Calamity, the creation of the refugee problem. As they move southward, they know October 7, 2023 sparked the second Nakba.

As the Bible says (Proverbs 16:18), “Pride goes before destruction and haughtiness of spirit before the fall.”

Before the Allies conquered Germany, the Nazis foresaw a 1,000-year reign, but after Germany had been bombed into near-total destruction, Germans were not bragging about being Nazis. Of course, not all Germans were Nazis, but many lied about what they knew or did. That was 1945.

How lucky the Israelis of 2023 have such truthful neighbors as the Palestinians. Palestinian actions and comments show what they feel, and Israelis now know what the Palestinians feel. Let’s stop pretending.

“Proportional response” and “restraint by both parties” are the standard comments by UN officials or U.S. diplomats who do not know the difference between Hamas and hummus.

Jimmy Carter once said Hamas leaders wanted peace. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice pressed Israel to let Hamas run in the Gaza elections of 2006. Such foresight. That worked well. Why not try something similar?

Antony Blinken wants Israel to deliver Gaza to the same PLO, now led by Mahmoud Abbas, that broke all its accords with Israel and still pays bonuses to Hamas terrorists.

    We can do better.

Another attack on Jews in Los Angeles
    By Monica Showalter

Something evil is happening in Los Angeles based on the increasingly aggressive acts of its Jew-haters.

According to the Times of Israel:

US pro-Palestinian demonstrators have held a loud protest outside a vacation home of AIPAC president Michael Tuchin in Los Angeles, setting off smoke bombs and branding him a “baby killer.”

They also spilled red paint outside the home, signifying blood, and chanted “Fuck your holiday” at the head of the pro-Israel lobby.

  16. (Richard: There are several things that must be known or remembered before reading this article:
First the Second Amendment was written and adopted to be the bodyguard of all of the other rights, it was intended to insure that the public body as a whole has enough small arms to make the Federal Government pause before it does anything that a significant percentage of the population opposes. This was well know when I was a child and what I was taught in the Civics Class that I had to pass with a C or better to graduate from High School.

Second: Incrementalism was one of the methods the left used to get us into the current mess, they knew that they couldn’t get their agenda passed if they tried it in one action. The vast majority of the voters would object, so they used the approach of slowly raising the temperature until the Frog was boiled. A lot of people saw what the logical end results of the lefts actions were but they were laughed at when they said what the end result of the small baby steps into communism were going to result in.

Third: Originalist means some one that things the US Constitution must be interrupted to mean what the Founding Fathers meant, they also think that you must go through the formal Amending process to change the meaning of any portion of the Constitution. The left hates this way of thinking and wants us to think that we can re-interpret the Constitution to fit what the modern thoughts and needs require. This method would ensure that the Constitution is destroyed, that we have no rights the left doesn’t want us to have. This is why they keep insisting that Hate Speech isn’t covered by the Free Speech section of the First Amendment and that the Founders didn’t mean that we could all be armed with modern weapons.

Incrementalism combined with Originalism is what is restoring the rights the left raped from us during the Twentieth Century, it is what is giving us the ability to fight back against the lefts abrupt move into full blown Stalinism. We are slowly returning to a nation of free people who think for themselves, if we can keep fighting we will win and the radical left that controls so many of our nations will be defeated for at least one generation. )

Dean Weingarten on the steps of the Supreme Court.

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- This correspondent has been involved in the struggle to restore Second Amendment rights for more than 50 years. For much of that period, many of those who wanted the Second Amendment to be honored in the United States asked a simple question:

Why doesn’t the NRA[or any other pro 2A group] bring a case to the Supreme Court?

The assumption was the Supreme Court would rule in favor of the clear “shall not be infringed” words of the Second Amendment, and all those unconstitutional infringements would go away.
The assumption was Supreme Court justices were honorable men and women who would do their job to uphold the Constitution.

    The assumption was wrong.

So our example group, the NRA, would not bring a case, because the courts had made clear they would not enforce the Constitution. The courts routinely chipped away at Constitutional checks and balances, including the Second Amendment, for decades after the revolution in the courts brought about by Progressives.

The Heller case was not brought by the NRA. It was brought by Robert A. Levy of the Cato Institute, a Libertarian think-tank. They believed the time was finally ripe for a case.

Let me be clear: The policies promoted by “Progressives” were and still are actually regressive. They worked to return us to a period where the government has unlimited power, and a small, powerful, wealthy group rules over everyone else. Still, they call themselves “Progressives”. In a way, it is fitting, as much of their policy is based on the ability to deceive.

The Progressive revolution in the courts was greatly accelerated by the Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) administration. The revolution in the courts was underway in 1932, but the FDR administration made the courts a center of Progressive power. Progressives have been a majority on the Supreme Court for decades. Progressive ideology holds the Constitution has no fixed meaning.
Progressives hold that limitations on government power are bad policy. Progressive ideology holds the ruling elite must shape public opinion to what Progressives want public policy to be.

President Reagan was able to place Justice Scalia, an originalist, to the Supreme Court in 1986, and wishy-washy Kennedy in 1988. President G.W. Bush appointed the stalwart Thomas in 1991. Chief Justice Roberts, who claims to be an originalist, was appointed in 2005. Justice Alito, an originalist, was appointed in 2006. Those five were just enough to overturn the ban on the ownership of handguns in the District of Columbia in D.C. vs Heller in 2008. The decision was severely restricted by the insistence of including limitations on the Second Amendment, to obtain the vote of Justice Kennedy, as engineered by Justice Stevens.

    From the abajournal.com:

Stevens previously has called for repeal of the Second Amendment or a clarification saying it applies only to people serving in militias.

In the book, Stevens said he had hoped to persuade Justices Anthony M. Kennedy and Clarence Thomas to agree with him that the amendment was intended to prevent the disarmament of state militias. He circulated his dissent emphasizing historical texts supporting his view in hopes it would prove persuasive.

His only success, he said, was in getting Kennedy to persuade Justice Antonin Scalia to include language limiting the reach of his majority decision in Heller.

Here is the limiting language Justice Stevens claims to have been influential in having inserted, in trade for Justice Kennedy’s vote:

Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose: For example, concealed weapons prohibitions have been upheld under the Amendment or state analogues. The Court’s opinion should not be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.

Reliance on the courts to uphold the Second Amendment was futile from 1939 until at least 2006. Even then, the Heller Decision barely squeaked past the activist Progressive justices.

Unable to restore Second Amendment rights in the Courts before 2006, Second Amendment supporters turned to the legislative branch. At the Federal level, it was primarily a defensive fight. At the state level, Second Amendment supporters started passing significant legislation in the 1980’s.

A major point of disagreement among Second Amendment supporters was how to approach the problem.

One group claimed anything but full and complete recognition of Second Amendment rights was futile and counter-productive. The argument was: any lesser legislation, moving incrementally toward full Second Amendment rights, would only legitimize infringements on those rights. They were/are the “All or Nothing” group. Some called/call themselves “principled”.

The other group of Second Amendment supporters argued Second Amendment rights could be restored bit by bit. Pass legislation first, for a permit system. Keep reforming and improving the permit system. Reduce requirements, reduce fees, reduce “gun-free zones”. Keep on incrementally improving the law, until Second Amendment rights were fully restored. They were/are the “Incrementalists”. In the middle 1990’s it was not clear if either approach would be effective.
Twenty years later, it was clear. Second Amendment Incrementalism worked.

One of the all or nothing group was talented author Claire Wolfe, who made a splash with her book “101 Things to do ‘Til the Revolution” #ad, published in 1999. In 2016, She wrote:

Do I now approve of the “shall issue” permits that laid the groundwork for this? Nope. No way. But even I have to admit that the grassroots “shall issue” ccw movement gave birth to the constitutional carry movement. And constitutional carry is an unreservedly good thing.

Back in the day — those dark old days of seemingly unstoppable federal overreach — I thought we’d have to fight (real “blood in the streets”) to restore our gun rights. Of course, we may yet have to fight to preserve our freedom.

But thanks to the new and expanded gun culture across the land — a culture in part built and normalized by the very activists I doubted — We the People are becoming an ever more formidable power.

Every one of the states which restored Constitutional Carry first adopted a shall-issue concealed carry permit law.

The “principled” or “all or nothing” group has the end goal correctly identified. It is important to keep the goal in mind. It is important to understand the progress which has been made, and how it was made.

It was made incrementally. Part of the incrementalism was to expand the number of people who own guns, who have real potential to become part of the gun culture. Part of the process was/is to teach about the Second Amendment, and what reform should be aiming for.

When this correspondent taught his own concealed carry course in Arizona (before the law was changed to mandate a standard state lesson plan), the lesson plan made clear the permit was an infringement on the rights guaranteed by both the U.S. and Arizona Constitutions.

The goal of Constitutional Carry was always in mind and explained in the classroom. The permit was a lesser infringement than the complete ban on concealed carry.

The Second Amendment is a beautiful lodestone to detect which politicians take the Constitution and Bill of Rights seriously, and which do not.

Politicians tend to be accomplished liars. You have to study what they do, not just what they say.

Even voting records can be deliberately misleading. Politicians routinely cite votes which had no real effect, or which were rigged specifically for them to be able to claim to their constituents they had voted the “correct” way, in order to be re-elected.

Most politicians are not particularly interested in principles. They are interested in perks and power and being re-elected. Thus, they can be swayed and persuaded to vote, incrementally, by interested and engaged voters. There are far more interested and engaged Second Amendment supporters than there are those who wish for an unarmed population.

It is important to realize 2A incrementalism, while valuable in itself, has a goal: Full recognition and practical application of the Second Amendment, so that people in the United States can be practically and legally armed as they go about their daily lives; and they can be practically and legally armed so as to prevent tyranny by the governments they have created.
    Constitutional Carry
    Constitutional Carry

When Alaska became the first state to restore Constitutional Carry in 2003, a Democrat legislator in the state explained how it happened. He said carry legislation kept coming up, year after year. He was sick of it. It was popular. He did not want to deal with it anymore. Just pass Constitutional Carry, and be done with it.

Those who insist on the full implementation of Second Amendment rights, immediately, have made valuable contributions. As a practical effect, they show 2A incrementalists to be practical “moderates“.

Those who have had the most practical effect are those who insisted on the ultimate goal, while accepting incremental movement toward the goal.

When Claire Wolf made her statement praising the work of the incrementalists who had restored Constitutional Carry in 2016, eight states had restored Constitutional Carry.
Today there are eighteen states with Constitutional Carry!

Idaho moved from Constitutional Carry for residents only (a dubious Constitutional provision), to Constitutional Carry for all who can legally own guns, a year ago.

Utah and Montana became the latest members of the Constitutional Carry club early in 2021.

It is very likely one or more states will join the club before the end of 2021.

The disagreement between those who preach “all or nothing” and those who practice incrementalism to achieve the goal, will never end. It is regularly seen in reader comments on this correspondent’s articles here on AmmoLand News.

The practical effect is no longer in doubt. 2A Incrementalism works. It has worked wonders in the states. Virtually no one in 1990 would have predicted the almost miraculous results we have seen in restoring Second Amendment rights by 2021.

There are numerous Second Amendment cases in the pipeline to the Supreme Court. Today, there is hope a majority of justices will uphold their oaths of office and honor the Second Amendment.

Every victory in the states for Constitutional Carry improves the odds. Those justices read the papers. They know the state of the law in the States. If they don’t, the amicus briefs on the cases will make sure they do.

Upholding the Second Amendment may no longer seem miraculous.

Prayer for the Justices to be guided by divine providence in their decisions, would not hurt.

    About Dean Weingarten:

Dean Weingarten has been a peace officer, a military officer, was on the University of Wisconsin Pistol Team for four years, and was first certified to teach firearms safety in 1973. He taught the Arizona concealed carry course for fifteen years until the goal of Constitutional Carry was attained. He has degrees in meteorology and mining engineering, and retired from the Department of Defense after a 30 year career in Army Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation.

  17. Report Exposes Newest Muslim Atrocities Against Christians
    by Guest Contributor Nov. 24, 2023 1:00 pm54 Comments

Guest by post by Bob Unruh

‘Victims are treated as if they were the perpetrators’

The details in a new report get gruesome very quickly.

Three Muslims abduct and violently rape a 16-year-old Christian girl in Pakistan.
In another attack in the same country, this time on a 15-year-old Christian girl, four men abduct her “at gunpoint” and “gang-raped” her.
In Nigeria, Muslims including the employees of a college “abducted and forcibly converted” to Islam a 20-year-old Christian college student.
There’s even a “well-financed campus group called the ‘Council of Muslim Sisters,’” which routinely “forcibly” converts students to Islam.
In Egypt, an asylum seeker from Yemen has been jailed for nearly two years for “exercising his rights to freedom of expression, conscience and belief.”
In Uganda, Sula Mugudi, 70, and his wife, Aisha, 62, returned from church to find their modest home destroyed – by their own relatives – because they were “an embarrassment to our Muslim family.”
In the Congo, Muslims slaughtered 39 Christians, including 12 children, in a series of attacks.

And all that happened just in the month of October, according to Raymond Ibrahim, the Distinguished Senior Shillman Fellow at the Gatestone Institute. He’s also the Judith Rosen Friedman Fellow at the Middle East Forum.

The report cites an analysis from BitterWinter, org, which explained the assaults by Muslims are common, and while, “Some cases do land in courts. But it is not easy for the victims to win them. Sometimes, the victims are treated as if they were the perpetrators.”

The report outlines the attack on the 16-year-old in Pakistan, Persis Masih, who was apparently grabbed from her home after the rest of her family had left for church where her father is pastor.

The criminals dumped her, a day later, in front of her home.

“Her physical and emotional state in shambles,” the report said.

In that case, she identified an attacker and police actually took him into custody, even though “police in Pakistan are notorious for turning a blind eye to the persecution of Christians.”

Juliet Chowdhry, of the British Asian Christian Association, said of another, similar attack on a family: “It appears that this crime targeted them due to their vulnerability and the sense of impunity that perpetrators often feel when targeting marginalized communities.”

The 15-year-old? She was “forcibly converted to Islam and married to one of her captors.”

“Six months later, when her abductors were distracted with a funeral, Mishal managed to escape and return to her father’s home. But when she and her father went to report the kidnappers and rapists to police, ‘Not only did the officers refuse to investigate, but they also informed Michal’s captors of what was going on. The girl and her father had to go into hiding for fear of being killed,’” the report said.

Ibrahim reported on Kyrgyzstan, where, “Converts to Christianity are openly being targeted for persecution in the Central Asian Muslim nation.” There, ideologues are creating videos “calling for people to break into Christian communities and churches to capture the faces of believers on video and then distribute their images online to encourage persecution.”

The report noted in Uganda, “suspected Islamic terrorists” murdered three Christians in a national park including a guide and two tourists because they were accused of “supporting Christians.”

In Nigeria, “Muslim Fulani herdsmen raid a Christian village during the night ‘and sprayed bullets on the bodies of innocent people while sleep,’ ‘killing eight, an eyewitness said,” documented the report.

In other slaughters of Christians, Muslims used machetes.

In Iraq, “more than 100 Christians were burned alive after a fire broke out during a Christian wedding ceremony; another 150 attendees were seriously injured. Nearly 60 of those killed were directly related to the bride and groom,” the report said. The government said the fire was “accidental.”

Even in Italy, Muslims routinely vandalize Christian sites, including the bell tower of a church is Sacille, where they wrote the Islamic credo: “There is no god but allah.” Similar situations have developed in Germany and France, Greece and Sweden.

The Transgender Movement Took Her Daughter’s Life

Abby Martinez lost custody of her daughter Yaeli to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services because Martinez did not fully support her daughter “transitioning” to a boy. Yaeli changed her name to Andrew and began taking cross-sex hormones, but still struggled with depression. At 19, Yaeli took her own life. Martinez says DCFS took her daughter from her.

  19. “Nothing more than a beauty contest.” Democrats change primary election date making Michigan Republican primary votes completely meaningless

LANSING – Now that state legislators have adjourned two months early for the year, the Michigan primary election will be held on February 27, 2024, putting the Republican primary in violation of Republican National Convention (RNC) rules so that Michigan delegates will no longer be counted towards the winner of the Republican National Convention.

To stem a competition between states to move the primaries earlier and earlier, the RNC established a longstanding rule that only New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, and South Carolina can hold their primaries prior to March 1, as those states have done so for decades. The penalty set by the RNC is the stripping of up to 90% of the state’s delegates.

“The primary this year will be nothing more than a beauty contest,” said former State Representative and current Lapeer County Commissioner Gary Howell (R) in a statement to the Tribune. Howell went on to say, “Our vote will not be counted by the RNC. It will be of no legal consequence whatsoever.”

The moving of the Michigan primary election from the second Tuesday of March to the last Tuesday of February was a move that was spearheaded by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and passed along strictly partisan lines, with every Democrat in the house and Senate voting for the move and every Republican opposing it. State law determines that any bill that passes without a two-thirds supermajority requires a 90-day window without a challenge in congress before it can be signed into law by the Governor.

Since Democrat leadership in both chambers adjourned two months early, the 90-day recess ensures that this and many other bills that received no bipartisan support will be signed into law in January and February.
