The Curious Case of Rob Malley
More bad news for Malley emerged recently when a large cache of Iranian government correspondence and emails was revealed by Semafor and Iran International. In email exchanges between Iranian Foreign Ministry officials working under the supposedly moderate then President Hassan Rouhani, they congratulate each other for the public success of what they called the “Iran Experts Initiative (IEI),” a propaganda effort they created back in 2014, and reportedly “funded and directed by an IRGC official…
The IEI cultivated a network of sympathetic academics and intellectuals “with the aim of shaping political and public opinion as the Iranian government, then led by Hassan Rouhani, pursued a nuclear deal with the U.S.”
Other former officials told the Daily Caller that Malley and a previous advisor of his, Ariane Tabatabai, who holds a senior, security clearance level job at the Defense Department, are “compromised” and had no place running Washington’s Iran policy.
Tabatabai is still employed at the Pentagon where, noted the investigative reporter Lee Smith, “she has been serving as chief of staff for the assistant secretary of defense for special operations, Christopher Maier… Tabatabai’s emails show her enthusiastically submitting to the control of top Iranian officials, who then guided her efforts to propagandize and collect intelligence on U.S. and allied officials in order to advance the interests of the Islamic Republic.”
“The contents of the emails,” wrote Lee Smith, “are damning, showing a group of Iranian American academics being recruited by the Iranian regime, meeting together in foreign countries to receive instructions from top regime officials, and pledging their personal loyalty to the regime….
Tabatabai still has high-level security clearance and access to classified information. The FBI has reportedly “refused to remove her.” So, while Israel fights for its existence, a genocidal Iran is using three of its proxies — Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis in Yemen — Tabatabai, who according to Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), “had the mission of influencing U.S. policymakers to agree with what the Iranian government wanted,” may be sending classified information about planned U.S. and Israeli military moves back to Iran…. What could possibly go wrong?

Senior Pentagon Official Overseeing Elementary Schools Division Arrested in Human Trafficking Sting

In a recent crackdown on human trafficking in Coweta County, Georgia, an unsettling revelation has come to light: among those apprehended in a law enforcement sting operation is Stephen Francis Hovanic, a senior official with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) Americas division, which oversees elementary education for military families.
Hovanic, 64, was arrested on November 15 in Coweta County, Georgia, on suspicion of pandering, according to the Daily Caller.
According to the DODEA’s website, Hovanic assumed his role as Chief of Staff during Obama’s regime:

After the 10/7 attack the reports were that all of Israel is under harsh anti-self defense laws, the regulations I read about prevent most people from owning and carrying guns. How this was allowed to happen in a small nation surrounded by enemies is beyond me, I thought that all Israelis were encouraged to own and carry handguns for self defense.
I pray that you and others in your community can get the “Dictators” in Mass. to allow you to buy and carry handguns for self defense. Given the amount of Jew Hatred that has been shown in the US after the 10/7 attack you need to be capable of defending yourself during the time it takes the police to arrive at the scene.

Cosmopolitan was always the trashiest of the ladies’ magazines one could pick up at your local Shop-Rite check-out aisle, but the dying of print and the squeeze put upon whatever shopping lane business they were still doing by self-checkout apparently has the editors over at Cosmo pretty desperate these days.
So, they decided it was high time to profile Samuel Alito’s Mom’s Satanic [Abortion] Clinic. Seriously.
“Samuel Alito’s Mom’s Satanic Abortion Clinic. Does it sound like pure clickbait? Sure,” the writers admitted in the piece, published Nov. 14.
“But beneath the outlandish branding lies a sincere mission: The New Mexico–based telehealth practice, a legitimate medical entity run by an accredited clinical team, offers abortion care to patients within state lines.
“The staff prescribes abortion pills (at $91 per set, a competitive price) up until the eleventh week of pregnancy and offers 24/7 phone access to licensed medical personnel to anyone in need. It’s just that they’re also Satanists, members of a religious organization called The Satanic Temple.”
The Temple, Cosmo said, “chose New Mexico for a few reasons. It has about 3,300 members in the state, a robust base of potential need. New Mexico is also considered an abortion-rights stronghold, lacking oppressive laws dictating gestational limits, age restrictions, waiting periods, and mandatory ‘counseling.’
“Here, unlike in neighboring states Texas and Oklahoma, it’s still legal for doctors and nurse practitioners to prescribe abortion pills remotely and have them mailed to patients for safe use at home,” the report said. “Anyone traveling to New Mexico from out of state can use a P.O. box or a friend or family member’s address — even a hotel’s.”
My initial (flippant, sardonic) reaction was that the abortion mill industry had always been satanic and its high time satanists themselves got a bit of the action. Where’s the representation here, people? Planned Parenthood may be doing the work of the devil, but how many devil-worshippers are filling key roles in the organization? Anyway, like the usual establishment media reports on anything related to the Satanic Temple, Cosmo is quick to point out “that Satanists don’t actually worship the devil” and that its “roughly 1.5 million global members view Satan more like a mascot, one depicted not as a dark, omniscient deity but as a literary character.”

Take what Cosmo calls “the optional ceremonial aspects of the Satanic abortion ritual” as recommended by the TST.

The new Narcan vending machine is currently siting next to a Coca-Cola machine and will be available to the general public 24/7.
Narcan is a life saving drug that is capable of reversing an opioid overdose when its used properly.
During a recent news conference Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden touted the new vending machine and stated, “How about we give out Narcan instead of turkeys this year.”

The big news in Chicago this weekend was black voters are threatening to vote Republican if City Hall does not do something about illegal aliens.
Dream on. That won’t happen. What Chicago needs is a referendum to repeal its sanctuary city status — and it may get one.
But Republicans are getting their hopes up again.
Breitbart reported, “A group of black Chicago residents rallied on the city’s South Side to warn City Hall and the City Council that they are organizing to defeat any official that supports Mayor Brandon Johnson’s fealty to sanctuary city policies and the continued spending of millions on illegal aliens, even to the extent of voting for Republicans over the Democrat Party.
“Speakers warned the city’s aldermen that they will be targeted for removal and that blacks in the areas so badly impacted by the onslaught of border crossers flooding into the city would even begin voting for Republicans and independents to defeat Democrats who are so sold-out to the illegal alien lobby.”
The list of demands was awesome:
We want the mayor to sign an executive order immediately ending sanctuary city.
Remove illegal immigrants from our city.
We demand that the mayor and the aldermen to not allow any more busloads of illegal immigrants into the city of Chicago.
We demand that the aldermen vote ‘no’ on the budget that assume an additional $150 million or more — or any amount for immigrants
We demand a funded office of freedmen for black descendants of American chattel slavery.
We support the candidacy of Republicans, independents, and Democrats who oppose sanctuary city.
We demand that you support Illinois African Americans equitable black school achievement.
And we demand that the land grab of senior citizens’ homes and to replace us with illegal immigrants.
But threatening to vote Republican is a joke. I mean, who are these imaginary Republican candidates that black Chicagoans are going to vote for? Is there a pot of Republicans at the end of a rainbow? Send Geraldo Rivera back to Al Capone’s vault to see if that are any there.
The party crossed off Cook County long ago, in part because black voters are solidly Democrat no matter how detrimental that is to their lives. Many (not all) black neighborhoods turn into shooting galleries on hot summer nights.
That is the pattern throughout the nation as Democrats have become an urban party that rules its territories unopposed. After chasing Republicans away, Democrats turned American cities into shitholes (San Francisco literally is one) where bums have overtaken the streets and parks, teens loot stores, gangs run rampant, and the politicians get rich.
Monopolistic power allows Democrats to ignore their supporters and expand their power. The Census Bureau sets how many congressmen each state gets.
Thus for every 800,000 or so illegal aliens a state takes in, it gets a seat in Congress.
You can see why Chicago became a sanctuary city in 1985. The Establishment loves it because it means more power. When President Trump tried to get Chicago to obey the federal law, the Chicago Sun-Times scolded him.
It said in an editorial on April 15, 2019, “Chicago has always been a sanctuary city, and we’re better for it.
“Immigration has been at the core of Chicago’s economic vitality and population growth, and it will continue to be.
“More than that, as Mayor Rahm Emanuel said last week, the United States is a sanctuary country. We are a nation of immigrants, and proudly so. A welcoming stance toward immigration is at the heart of our identity, and we trash it at our peril.
“That’s what President Donald Trump fails to understand. Or chooses not to understand.
“When he attacks immigrants as a bunch of criminals and freeloaders, he’s spreading a lie, and he’s making a more honest conversation about immigration policy — whom to allow in, and in what numbers — impossible.”
Lecturing Donald Trump — the son and grandson of immigrants — on immigration is like giving singing lessons to Taylor Swift. You may not like her voice but her singing made her a billionaire.
Four years later, illegal aliens have crushed Chicago’s city budget but the Chicago Sun-Times valiantly stands by the sanctuary city status.
In an editorial last week, it said, “Alderman Anthony Beale (9th) wants to ask Chicagoans to weigh in on remaining a ‘sanctuary city,’ and it’s a question that could easily take Chicago down a risky road.
“An ordinance Beale has submitted would repeal the city’s Welcoming City ordinance in its entirety. Beale and others are also pushing a proposal for a referendum on the March 2024 ballot to ask voters whether Chicago should remain a so-called ‘sanctuary city.’”
But cracks are showing. Suddenly, the sanctuary city status that CST bragged about four years ago has become a so-called sanctuary city in scary quotes. The paper prefers calling it a welcoming city. The denial reflects a change in public attitude. Chicagoans have had it with politicians bending over for illegals.
Now power brokers like the CST are struggling to prevent a vote on keeping city from obeying federal immigration laws. OK, make the newspaper pay for the illegals then.
WLS reported, “As more buses carrying migrants arrive every day, Chicago’s designation as a sanctuary city is waning among likely voters, according to a new poll conducted by M3 Strategies.
“‘A majority of Chicagoans prefer to end sanctuary city versus keep it,’ said M3 Strategies Pollster Matt Podgorski.
“Podgorski said 46% of those polled said no more sanctuary city, 39% said Chicago should remain one and 14% were unsure. Chicago residents were polled all over city.”
Who supports keeping Chicago an open borders town?
White liberals.
The pollster told WLS, “White voters actually prefer to keep it as a sanctuary city by a 10-point majority, whereas minority voters overwhelmingly wanted to end sanctuary city as it is today.”
The avocado toast set has spoken!
On November 2, aldermen tried to get city council to put the sanctuary city status on the ballot next spring. Chaos ensued. Aldermen walked out of the meeting to deny supporters a quorum, which meant city council could not vote on whether to let voters decide.
Then someone pulled a Jamaal Bowman but with a light switch, not a fire alarm.
WGN reported, “Lights shut off during immigration chaos at Chicago City Council special meeting.”
How appropriate.
If Chicago fails to junk its sanctuary city status, it is Don Meredith time. He was the Monday Night Football announcer who when the game became a blowout would sing the Willie Nelson song, The Party’s Over.

The maritime convoy is set to make a first stop in Cyprus before continuing toward the Israeli port of Ashdod. Some participants in the flotilla will also reportedly take their spouses and children on board.

The US is among countries arguing against new laws to regulate AI-controlled killer drones.
The US, China, and others are developing so-called “killer robots.”
Critics are concerned about the development of machines that can decide to take human lives.
The deployment of AI-controlled drones that can make autonomous decisions about whether to kill human targets is moving closer to reality, The New York Times reported.
Lethal autonomous weapons, that can select targets using AI, are being developed by countries including the US, China, and Israel.
The use of the so-called “killer robots” would mark a disturbing development, say critics, handing life and death battlefield decisions to machines with no human input.
Several governments are lobbying the UN for a binding resolution restricting the use of AI killer drones, but the US is among a group of nations — which also includes Russia, Australia, and Israel — who are resisting any such move, favoring a non-binding resolution instead, The Times reported.
“This is really one of the most significant inflection points for humanity,” Alexander Kmentt, Austria’s chief negotiator on the issue, told The Times. “What’s the role of human beings in the use of force — it’s an absolutely fundamental security issue, a legal issue and an ethical issue.”
The Pentagon is working toward deploying swarms of thousands of AI-enabled drones, according to a notice published earlier this year.
In a speech in August, US Deputy Secretary of Defense, Kathleen Hicks, said technology like AI-controlled drone swarms would enable the US to offset China’s People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) numerical advantage in weapons and people.
“We’ll counter the PLA’s mass with mass of our own, but ours will be harder to plan for, harder to hit, harder to beat,” she said, reported Reuters.
Frank Kendall, the Air Force secretary, told The Times that AI drones will need to have the capability to make lethal decisions while under human supervision.
“Individual decisions versus not doing individual decisions is the difference between winning and losing — and you’re not going to lose,” he said.
“I don’t think people we would be up against would do that, and it would give them a huge advantage if we put that limitation on ourselves.”
The New Scientist reported in October that AI-controlled drones have already been deployed on the battlefield by Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion, though it’s unclear if any have taken action resulting in human casualties.
The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

NY Court Rules in Favor of Hochul in Landmark Case For Government Overreach Over Quarantine Orders

Rule 2.13: “Isolation and Quarantine Procedures” will give the state of New York the ability to come in your home and take you away to quarantine without any notice and for any virus or infection they deem necessary.
Plaintiffs sued Hochul and the NYS Department of Health arguing the quarantine rules violated their rights and overstepped the separation of powers.
The plaintiffs initially won the lawsuit, however, NY Attorney General Letitia James filed an appeal to overturn the verdict.
The state’s Supreme Court Appellate Division on Tuesday ruled in favor of Hochul.

Federal judge grants injunction banning ‘Kansas Two-Step’ Highway Patrol tactic
The Kansas Highway Patrol must stop using a tactic known as the “Kansas Two-Step” to detain out-of-state drivers long enough to find a reason to search their vehicles for illegal drugs, a federal judge has ruled.
U.S. District Judge Kathryn H. Vratil on Monday granted a permanent injunction. The injunction was not unexpected. It follows Vratil’s ruling in July that determined that the tactic violated drivers’ constitutional rights against unreasonable searches.
KHP spokeswoman Candice Breshears said the order is being reviewed by the state attorney general’s office and declined further comment. A message left Tuesday with the office of Attorney General Kris Kobach was not immediately returned.
The injunction has several requirements, including cameras and audio for all marked and unmarked patrol cars. It also says troopers must inform drivers that they can refuse or revoke consent for a search at any time. The injunction also requires better training and documentation.
With the “Two-Step,” troopers finish the initial traffic stop, issuing a ticket or a warning, and start to walk away, then turn back to talk more to the driver. That allows them to keep looking for grounds for a vehicle search or to buy time for drug-sniffing dogs to arrive.

Professors: Free Speech and Intellectual Diversity are Not Essential to Higher Education
In “The Indispensable Right,” I discuss how academics are now leading an anti-free speech movement on campuses that challenges the centrality (or even the necessity) of free speech protections in higher education. The latest such argument appeared this month in the Chronicle of Higher Education.
Two Arizona State University professors — Richard Amesbury and Catherine O’Donnell — wrote that free speech concerns yield too much to the “right wing” and that free speech should not be given the protection currently afforded by universities and colleges. Indeed, they argue that free speech may be harming higher education by fostering “unworthy” ideas.
Amesbury teaches religious studies and O’Donnell teaches history at ASU. They wrote an article titled “Dear Administrators: Enough with the Free Speech Rhetoric! It Concedes Too Much to the Right-Wing Agenda.”
The two academics challenge the long-held view of the centrality of free speech to higher education, a view that I share. Notably, many of us have been alarmed by the erosion of free speech on our campuses, but Amesbury and O’Donnell seem to worry that there is still too much protection for opposing views.
In fairness, to the two professors, they do not reject the overall value of free speech, but challenge “the assumptions that free speech is a cardinal virtue of higher education, and that colleges should aspire to a diversity of opinions.” They insist that higher education is about finding truth and that means that false ideas are inimical to our mission as educators. Indeed, they question the need for “intellectual diversity”:
Our contention is that calls for greater freedom of speech on campuses, however well-intentioned, risk undermining colleges’ central purpose, namely, the production of expert knowledge and understanding, in the sense of disciplinarily warranted opinion. Expertise requires freedom of speech, but it is the result of a process of winnowing and refinement that is premised on the understanding that not all opinions are equally valid. Efforts to “democratize” opinion are antithetical to the role colleges play in educating the public and informing democratic debate. We urge administrators toward caution before uncritically endorsing calls for intellectual diversity in place of academic expertise…
As a threshold matter, what is so striking about this argument against intellectual diversity is that it is made at a time with little such diversity in most departments. Seeking a wider range of viewpoints on departments does not “concedes too much to the right-wing agenda.” It acknowledges a growing problem across higher education, It is an educational agenda that has prompted many of us to raise the reduction of intellectual diversity.
We have already seen faculties purged of conservative and libertarian colleagues. We previously discussed how surveys at universities show a virtual purging of conservative and Republican faculty members. For example, last year, the Harvard Crimson noted that the university had virtually eliminated Republicans from most departments but that the lack of diversity was not a problem. Now, a new survey conducted by the Harvard Crimson shows that more than three-quarters of Harvard Arts and Sciences and School of Engineering and Applied Sciences faculty respondents identify as “liberal” or “very liberal.” Only 2.5% identified as “conservative,” and only 0.4% as “very conservative.”

Millions of rats have moved in on a remote Queensland town, horrifying residents of the picturesque fishing spot with a putrid smell left behind by the mounds of dead rodents heaped along beaches and boat ramps.
Locals in Karumba, in the Gulf Country between the Top End and the Northern Territory, say the rats — a native species — started appearing a few weeks ago but have recently become difficult to ignore.
Images and videos posted on Facebook this week show what appear to be hundreds of thousands of dead rats on the edge of boat ramps, on the ground of a scenic lookout and floating in the water or on the sand.

Not clear what U.S. is trying to deter, but it doesn’t seem to be working.
Whatever the Biden administration is doing about deterrence and containment in the Middle East – if we assume what’s going on is meant to achieve deterrence and containment – is unfolding in a peculiar fashion. The shortest accurate statement about it is this one: “It’s not working.”
A key measure of that is the rapidly increasing number of attacks on small, remote, ill-defended bases used by American troops in Iraq and Syria.

Far from using any leverage we may have in Mesopotamia for deterrence of Iran-backed provocation, we’re the hapless, unredressed target of it, day after day. Occasional retaliatory air strikes on valueless targets accomplish nothing. Apparently telling two-thirds of the local population they are not welcome at your business is “not the best business decision,” suggests a report at National File about the closure of the “Commie Cluck” restaurant.
The report noted that Lexington, Virginia, facility actually was named The Red Hen, and it became infamous in a moment for a decision back in the day to eject from the premises then-Trump Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family.
Because she’s Republican.
The report explained the owners have confirmed the business will close down, and later a new restaurant with a new name will replace it.
The press secretary’s family was ejected from the restaurant in the middle of their meal in 2018 after “triggered left-wing employees called the restaurant’s left-wing owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, requesting that she take action to remove the family from their midst,” the report recalled.

Chef Matt Adams claimed the “core values” of the business “will live on.”

Louisville Bank Shooter Connor Sturgeon Manifesto Released After 7 Months: Shooter Wrote in His Notebook That He Targeted “Upper Class White People”

As previously reported, Connor Sturgeon, the Louisville bank shooter who went on a killing spree in April of this year, left a 13-page manifesto before he went on a rampage.
It was previously reported that Sturgeon was under the care of health professionals and was being treated for depression at the time he fatally shot five people and injured several others.
On April 10, Sturgeon, 25 walked into Old National Bank and fatally shot five people. Several others were injured in the shooting.
A responding police officer shot and killed Sturgeon.
Sturgeon reportedly had three reasons for the attack.
1.) To prove how easy it is to buy a gun
2.) To highlight America’s mental health crisis(?)
3.) To kill himself – and take others with him
However, new information about Sturgeon’s motives for the shooting has come to light.
Connor Sturgeon’s manifesto and contents from his notebooks were released by LMPD more than 7 months after the mass shooting.
According to new documents released, Connor Sturgeon said he targeted “upper-class white people.”
“I have decided to make an impact. These people did not deserve to die, but because I was depressed and able to buy (guns?), they are gone. Perhaps this is the impact for change — upper class white people dying. I certainly would not have been able to do this were it more difficult to get a gun — just called in, 45 mins, get AR-15,” Sturgeon wrote, according to a report obtained by WLKY.

Harvard Poll: 6 in 10 Voters Say Owning a Gun is a Necessary Part of Self-Defense Against Crime
A Harvard/Harris poll conducted November 15-16, 2023, shows six in ten voters believe owning a gun is a necessary part of protecting themselves from criminals.
Poll researchers asked: “Do you think crime and safety in your community is getting better, worse, or staying about the same?”
Forty-two percent of voters said “worse,” versus 21 percent who said better. (Forty-nine percent of independents were among those who said crime is worsening.)
Researchers asked, “Do you think you need to have a gun today in case you are attacked by criminals, or do you think owning a gun is unnecessary?”
A majority of voters across the board–whether Democrat, Republican, or independent–answered in the affirmative.
Broken down by party affiliation, 54 percent of Democrats said owning a gun is necessary, 77 percent of Republicans, and 56 percent of independents.
Moreover, a majority of American voters believe “woke politicians” are a driving force behind crime in the United States.
Fifty-five percent of voters concurred that “Woke politicians are to blame for rising crime,” while 45 percent disagreed. An even larger majority of voters–67 percent–support “removing DA’s who are soft on crime.”
