Reader’s Links for November 17th, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. An ice hockey player is killed when his throat is slashed on the ice. I’ve played the game most of my life and can see by the unnatural motion of the perpetrator that he meant to cause harm. No player was ever taught this kind of behavior. The worst you can do to a guy is try to catch him with his head down and hit him head on. He gets a concussion. This happens to every player at some point. Usually more than once. I had four concussions and probably gave more since I was a defenceman. Disgusting.

  2. Ex-Cop Chauvin Appeals Murder Conviction for George Floyd, Citing Pathologist’s Theory Jury Never Heard
by Warner Todd Huston, The Western Journal Nov. 17, 2023 8:45 am92 Comments

The former Minneapolis police officer who was convicted in the 2020 police-involved death of George Floyd has filed an appeal of his conviction, citing new evidence that the jury never saw.

Police officer Derek Chauvin, who was convicted in 2021, filed papers in court on Monday, saying that the evidence proves that he did not commit murder in Floyd’s death, the Associated Press reported.

In his filing, the former cop said he would never have agreed to plead guilty if he had known about the theories of a Kansas pathologist who says that Floyd’s physical condition was the principal cause of death, not the actions of the police.

Chauvin is asking the judge to throw out his conviction and order a new trial, or at the very least open a new evidentiary hearing to look at the evidence.

A long-standing lawsuit over the reliability and security of Georgia’s elections system will go to trial in January.

The case was filed by voters who want hand-marked paper ballots to replace the existing system of machines sold to the state by Dominion Voting Systems, although as noted by the Associated Press, it began three years before the allegations over Dominion’s machines that became part of the contentious aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

On Nov. 10, U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg issued a ruling rejecting the state’s position that no trial was necessary. The ruling called for the state and its critics to try to resolve their differences without a trial.

“The Court cannot wave a magic wand in this case to address the varied challenges to our democracy and election system in recent years, including those presented in this case,” she wrote.

The Netherlands sits primarily below the sea level, and now, voters fear its economy is also underwater.

But the most divisive subject it’s certainly immigration. As most other EU states, Dutch society is paying a heavy price for the suicidal policies that saw an influx in their society of people seeking a better life in the west.

Next week will be the first time caretaker Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s name won’t be on the ballot in a decade.

After last year’s brutal cost of living shock, one if left wondering whether will be willing to continue funding climate alarmist policies such as expensive offshore wind farms.

  5. Insiders Say Eat Just Is in Big Financial Trouble
Vegan egg and lab-grown-meat startup Eat Just is being sued for more than $100 million. Former employees allege that’s just the start of its problems.

Popular vegan egg and lab-grown-meat company Eat Just is in deep financial trouble. A WIRED investigation bringing together court records, documents, and interviews from former employees suggests that the company frequently struggled with paying its suppliers on time. Now it is being sued by a former partner for roughly $100 million and faces lawsuits from other vendors, some of which are reported here for the first time.

“The biggest issue was absolute financial mismanagement,” one former senior Eat Just employee alleges. Multiple former employees claim that the practice of delaying or withholding payment to vendors was “entrenched” and “endemic” at the company. “We had vendors we were six months behind on. We were constantly having to beg and plead to get our product out of refrigeration and into stores,” says another former senior employee. WIRED has agreed to withhold their names because they were not authorized to speak to the press.

Eat Just is one of the leading startups to have come out of the boom in plant-based alternatives to animal products. Since 2011 the startup has raised around $850 million—making it among the best-funded startups in the industry. Its vegan eggs are sold in thousands of stores in the US, and in 2020 it became the first company to sell cultivated meat to customers. In May 2022, a wholly owned Eat Just subsidiary called Good Meat announced it had signed an agreement to build 10 giant bioreactors to grow animal cells for cultivated meat—a project orders of magnitude larger than anything attempted before.

UPDATE: 44-year-old BP Agent Freddie Ortiz was killed when the ATV he was riding hit a pole—He was responding to a group attempting to evade law enforcement according to CCSO.

His death has been officially been ruled a line of duty death.

Here are the details from Cochise County Sheriff’s Office who conducted the joint investigation:

“All public safety agencies within Cochise County stand in mourning with our brothers in arms, United States Border Patrol, and their families as they grieve for the loss of one of their own.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was contacted on Tuesday November 14, 2023 at approximately 7:09 pm to advise of a single vehicle collision in the area of Chino Road and West 5th Street in Douglas. The information received indicated that the sole occupant involved was a United States Border Patrol Agent assigned to the Douglas Station, Tucson Sector.

The initial investigation indicates that the 44-year-old agent was on an all-terrain vehicle traveling westbound on International Avenue in response to a call for suspected undocumented immigrants. Accident Investigators noted that the ATV left the roadway before striking a fixed light pole.

US Border Patrol agents discovered the accident scene and medical personnel were dispatched. The agent was subsequently transported to the Copper Queen Hospital in Douglas where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.

“U.S. Border Patrol Agent Freddy’s Ortiz’s on-duty death is a tragedy and a stark reminder of the dangerous nature of our mission” said @USBPChiefTCA

Something to keep in mind –

The attacks on Biden from the Democrat Establishment coincide with the ascent of Gavin Newsom.

How could the DNC avoid a messy primary and nominate their preferred candidate (Newsom)?

    It’s in the fine print.

Biden is increasingly frail and confused, his dementia is worsening and his economic plan is faltering.

His popularity continues to crumble even among Democrats.

Consider the possibility that he resigns after receiving the Presidential nomination at the DNC 2024 convention. Image

    Why that specific timing?

    Because –

Rules adopted by the Democratic National Committee in 2022 leave the DNC as the sole authority to appoint a Presidential nominee where that nominee resigns after the August 2024 convention.

    No vote or primary needed.

The US Constitution is not and can never be used as a limit upon the people. All too often people regard the introductory statement of the Second Amendment, “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state…” as a clause upon which the right of the people depends. Nothing could be further from the truth.

As opined in US v. Miller back in 1939, the Supreme Court unanimously agreed that the introductory statement of the Second Amendment specifically protects arms of efficacy to the military for the militia…which is comprised of the people.

Since Miller wasn’t represented in the arguments, and as such, no evidence that a short barreled shotgun was of efficacy to the military was presented, they upheld the convictions of Jack Miller and Frank Layton for violating the the National Firearms Act. I’m sure that our special forces would have a different opinion of the efficacy of such a weapon today.

Regardless, in Miller SCOTUS correctly cited the introductory statement in support of the true meaning of the Second Amendment…for the People to retain their natural right to fight all enemies, foreign and domestic.

In the absence of any evidence tending to show that possession or use of a “shotgun having a barrel of less than eighteen inches in length” at this time has some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia, we cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear such an instrument. Certainly it is not within judicial notice that this weapon is any part of the ordinary military equipment, or that its use could contribute to the common defense. Aymette v. State, 2 Humphreys (Tenn.) 154, 158.

    United States v. Miller

This is the proverbial writing on the wall for the entire NFA et seq. in a post-Bruen world.

It’s quite surprising that this logical challenge to the NFA, based upon this ruling, has never been brought forth by some young, industrious attorney looking to make a name for himself. Enter the post-Bruen era, which is likely to see an end to ridiculous laws restricting weapon types and magazine capacities. A common-sense, overarching challenge to the NFA also seems inevitable.

A win against the NFA restrictions of machine guns, short barrel rifles, and suppressors would usurp and preemptively overrule individual states’ unconstitutional laws that have clearly defied SCOTUS rulings.

The only operative statement in the Second Amendment is “the right.” As the did with all of the enumerated rights in the Bill of Rights, the Founders chose their words carefully. When they referred to “the right” in the Second Amendment, they acknowledged and affirmed that all rights are natural or inherent and pre-exist, independent from the document.

The Bill of Rights doesn’t grant or give us rights. It’s intended to protect them, especially those the Founders thought were most important. We must honor and fight for those principles and not seek to undermine them.

As for how we “interpret” these words today, I agree that SCOTUS’s opinions regarding historical tradition and “common use” are fundamentally wrong. Rights, by their very definition, are absolute and not subject to infringement, restriction, or governmental control in any way. Full stop, period.

That’s not to say that laws punishing the exercising of a right that harms others wouldn’t be constitutional. So, yes Virginia, one can yell fire in a crowded theatre when none exists. We have never even suggested crafting laws to ban the word “fire” in fear it may be misused. We have laws to punish that act. Just as we have laws to punish speech which defames or slanders. But we have no such speech laws that are equivalent to gun bans, which would seek to take away the tools of exercising the First Amendment.

Laws don’t prevent, they punish. Are laws passed with the intent of deterrence? Certainly. Those of us who believe we are law-abiding perform a rational cost/benefit analysis before violating laws on almost a daily basis. We roll through stop signs. We exceed the speed limit. Sometimes we simply choose not to scan every item in our grocery basket.

But we also choose not to shoot our neighbor because his dog frequently tears up our yard. This is all down to personal choice, not a prevention. Nothing is stopping anyone from changing their cost/benefit analysis paradigm.

A portion of our society does that daily, too. We call them criminals. The law doesn’t prevent their deeds, it can only punish them. And they’re clearly undeterred by the existence of the laws on the books.

These are the simple truths of the matter. As long as we fail to understand what our rights truly mean and fail to bear true faith in their meaning, we will continue to have this seemingly gap in understanding of the Second Amendment. SCOTUS is equally at fault here, as they too seem to miss the true meaning of a right, and through their error, perpetuate the fallacy that rights have limits. Only by holding to the principles upon which this great nation was founded, can we end this absurdity.

If you’re uncomfortable with our government banning particular words or thoughts or religions then you should be equally uncomfortable with our government banning guns, or the right to buy or bear them in any way. Justice Thomas was certainly correct when he said that that the Second Amendment is not a second class right. All rights are first class. And that is the simple truth.

    • Treason, Cowardice, and the Islamic Invasion: Why States Must Revitalize The Militia
      Publius Huldah – December 2, 2015

      Excerpt:

What is the Militia? As Dr. Edwin Vieira’s excellent series on the Militia and how it guarantees the right to keep and bear arms shows, the Militia has a long history in America. That history began with the English settlements in the early 1600s. Every free male was expected to be armed and prepared at all times to protect himself, his family, and his community. Laws in the Colonies gave effect to this requirement. So at the time of the drafting of our Constitution in 1787, everyone knew of this 150 year long history of free American males being required to be armed, trained, and ready at a moment’s notice to answer the call of Duty.

More Problems with Alternative Approaches to Addressing Crime?
Ammoland Inc. Posted on November 17, 2023 by NRAHQ

    Opinion
    Handcuffs Arrest Resistance
    Istock

NRA, as well as many involved both with combatting violent crime and studying ways to reduce it, have long held that imposing restrictions on gun ownership does nothing to deter violent criminals from committing crimes while using firearms. As we have said time and time again, those who are already law-abiding will tend to obey “gun control” laws, while criminals will ignore them.

    They are, after all, criminals.

Besides trying to impose new restrictions, though, many anti-gun “progressives” have also promoted alternative approaches to criminal justice. Most readers of our alerts are familiar with many of those alternative approaches that are obviously flawed.

“No cash” bail policies turn violent criminals loose on our streets to prey on the law-abiding, often mere hours after being arrested for serious crimes. During the COVID pandemic, some “progressives” chose to release many convicted criminals early from their incarceration; with many of these same criminals, if not most, being later arrested for committing new crimes. In some areas with “progressive” approaches to criminal justice, some serious crimes have been downgraded from felonies to misdemeanors, or mandatory minimum sentences for violent crimes have been reduced. Again, this allows violent offenders to be released onto our streets after far-too-brief prison sentences.

But there are relatively innocuous alternatives to criminal justice that may also be problematic.

    SCROLL DOWN TO CONTINUE READING

One type of program involves hiring community activists to work in their neighborhoods to try to deter criminal activity. These individuals are often hired because of their knowledge of the neighborhood, and their status or recognition within the neighborhood. In some cases, those hired are former gang members, or have had other involvement in criminal activity, but are now expected to work on the side of law and order, and to use their previous connections as a way to make inroads into the criminal community to try to dissuade others from committing violent acts.

Depending on the program, participants are sometimes referred to as “peacekeepers,” “violence disruptors,” or something similar. As we have reported before, they know their neighborhoods, know the bad actors (and often once were the bad actors), and may be able to identify and intercede if there is any threat that a violent incident may be about to take place.

Unfortunately, as you will note in our previous coverage of such a program in Chicago, the plan doesn’t always work as intended.

Recently, the “Safe Streets” program in Baltimore, which calls its participants “violence interrupters” and is similar to the one in Chicago, has come under scrutiny. Local media began reporting of an October 26 FBI raid on a Northeast Baltimore office of “Safe Streets,” as well other raids that included a visit to the home of a supervisor of that office. While the full extent of what was uncovered in this law enforcement operation has yet to be revealed, initial reports indicate some of the items seized include a handgun “with an obliterated serial number” and “narcotics packaging materials.”

In light of this ongoing investigation, former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon, who launched “Safe Streets” in 2007, called for the program to be suspended, at least temporarily.

“I believe we ought to just put it on hold, have the audit done, re-assess it, and determine if this mechanism is really helping us fight crime,” said Dixon, as reported by local FOX45 News.

FOX45 News also reported that three staffers from the Northeast Baltimore “Safe Streets” location are currently on leave while the investigation proceeds, and that a source has told the news outlet that part of the investigation involves looking into connections to a notorious Baltimore street gang.

Even with the ongoing investigation and questions about the program’s efficacy, however, the Baltimore Board of Estimates unanimously approved a $3.5 million state grant for “Safe Streets” on November 1.

Whatever the investigation produces, this story is yet another cautionary tale about putting too much emphasis on “progressive” crime fighting approaches, rather than sticking with proven strategies like catching, holding on to, prosecuting, convicting, and incarcerating violent criminals.

Violent crime in Baltimore is a major problem, and has been for decades. The “Safe Streets” program doesn’t appear to be having a positive impact, but perhaps an audit of it will prove that it is at least helping in some small way. The FBI investigation could show a systemic problem with the program, or it could reveal something isolated that involves a handful of individuals. Or it could reveal nothing.

Whatever the case, perhaps now is not the time to commit millions of dollars to a program under such scrutiny. If the audit shows effectiveness, and the FBI investigation roots out isolated bad actors—or even exonerates those under investigation—maybe then consider spending those millions of tax dollars.

In the meantime, there’s always the novel idea of targeting violent criminals and putting them behind bars. Incarceration will certainly “interrupt” or “disrupt” any “violence” they planned on committing against law-abiding citizens.

  11. Needful things: U.S. policy on the current Hamas-Israel war; The Bully Pulpit

In the Hamas-Israel war, step up to the most important aspect of moral leadership.

This passage was originally to be part of a larger article on a core set of measures the U.S. needs to undertake, to facilitate a “better peace” from this war – the “better peace” being the desired goal of Western warfare as conceived by British author B.H. Liddell Hart in his canonical 1954 book Strategy.

That article addresses Iran, Iran’s proxies, containment in the Middle East, and other topics related to the progress and predictable aftermath of the war. It will come out soon as a separate piece.

But recent developments have clarified how essential it is to strengthen America and make her a credible, persuasive voice from the bully pulpit, on the central concern for which the world is increasingly ready to hear that voice. The concern is antisemitism (some prefer the expression Jew-hatred).

  12. HORROR: Flight Attendant in Chicago Unresponsive After Vagrant with 21 Convictions Spears Her in the Head with Log in “Javelin-Like Manner”
    by Cristina Laila Nov. 17, 2023 12:00 pm34 Comments

A flight attendant in Chicago is unresponsive and may die after a vagrant with 21 convictions in Ohio and 16 arrests in Illinois speared the young woman in the head with a log for no reason.

A 23-year-old unidentified flight attendant was shopping on Chicago’s Mag Mile during a layover when Bruce Diamond, 52, a career criminal with a long rap sheet, threw a log at her head in a random attack.

According to reports, the young woman was attacked after she walked out of a Burberry store on Michigan Avenue. The suspect threw the log at her head in a ‘javelin-like manner’ and walked away as the victim lay on the ground in grave condition.

“Court records show Diamond has been AWOL for more than two years from a misdemeanor battery case filed against him on September 26, 2022. He was accused of battering someone inside a store in the 200 block of North Dearborn during that incident, but no other details about the allegations were included in the court file.” CWB reported.

  13. California Father Who Bravely Defended His Family Against Masked Intruders Comes Forward and Reveals His Gun Permit Has Been REVOKED for an Alarming Reason (VIDEO)
    by Cullen Linebarger Nov. 17, 2023 11:40 am119 Comments

The Gateway Pundit reported last week about an unnamed Los Angeles father who turned the tables on masked intruders threatening his family. Since then he has identified himself and revealed some news that will leave your blood boiling.

This week Vince Ricci appeared in a video for the National Rifle Association, which he is a member of, and said that the state of California has has suspended his constitutional right to own a firearm.

After successfully defending my home and my family and my five-month-old child, California has now decided to suspend my Second Amendment rights.

Believe it or not, the news gets scarier. Ricco revealed to Fox News the alarming reason he lost his right to own a concealed firearm was because he allegedly yelled at cops when they visited his home three days ago. Yes, he supposedly raised his voice to the police and now he can no longer effectively defend himself.

Think about this. If the police can take away your God-given Second Amendment right for being confrontational with authorities, does the slippery slope ever end?

The LA Sheriff’s office has not commented to Fox News on the matter.

On November 4, a pair of masked intruders got more than bargained for after picking the wrong man to mess with.

One of the thugs raced up and put a gun to Ricci’s back just as he was about to walk into his home, which is located in the affluent Mid-City neighborhood in LA.

But just when one thinks the thieves have the upper hand, they get a nasty surprise when the dad pulled out his gun and opened fire. The scumbags fired back and then ran away.

Footage captured by KABC revealed the moment the incident occurred.

  14. UPDATE: Secret China-Linked Bio-Lab in California Was Holding Deadly Viruses, Including Refrigerators Full of Ebola, COVID, Herpes, HIV and E. Coli and Hundreds of Mice Engineered to Carry COVID Virus (VIDEO)

As Brian Lupo reported back in July – An illegal bio lab was discovered in a believed-to-be vacant building in Reedley, California in Fresno County. City code enforcement stumbled upon the building in December 2022 when they discovered a garden hose running up into the building through a hole in the wall. In March 2023, they obtained a warrant to inspect the property, and in April, the Fresno County Department of Public Health ordered an inspection of the facility.

Investigators inspected the building that contained the lab in July and found a room used to make COVID-19 tests and pregnancy tests. They also found over 35 freezers and refrigeration units that contained “thousands of bodily fluids, serums, tissues, and other medical items.”

According to the Mid Valley Times:

According to a declaration from Humero Prado, Assistant Director of Fresno County Public Health, which was filed in superior court, investigators discovered that one room of the warehouse was used to produce COVID-19 and pregnancy tests. In other rooms, investigators found blood, tissue and other bodily fluid samples. They also found thousands of vials that contained unlabeled fluids.

  15. Almost 450 Patients at Massachusetts Hospital Were Possibly Exposed to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV
    by Jim H?ft Nov. 17, 2023 11:00 am131 Comments

In a concerning revelation, Salem Hospital announced that approximately 450 patients who underwent endoscopy procedures at their facility might have been incidentally exposed to serious infectious diseases, including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV.

The potential exposure at the hospital, which lies about 20 miles from Boston, was said to have occurred over two years, ABC News reported.

Endoscopy involves inserting a tube-like instrument into the body for internal examination. Procedures such as bronchoscopies, colonoscopies, and laparoscopies fall under this category.

The hospital identified the issue during the administration of IV medications, stating that they were administered “in a manner not consistent with our best practice.”

In addition to news buildings, Within Our Lifetime, which describes itself as a Palestinian-led community organization, called for followers to target the offices of technology companies

“Each of the locations on this map reflects the location of an office of an enemy of both the Palestinian people and colonized people all over the world. Today and beyond, these locations will be sites for popular mobilization in defense of our people,” the sickening Wednesday night post read.

“May this map serve as a call for every struggle to act in their own interest. Army forced to reverse course, as people refuse to enlist

Oh, how much the times have changed!

The United States Army is now begging COVID unvaccinated soldiers, who underwent involuntary discharge for their refusal to take the vaccine, to return to service and also permits them to correct their military records!

Just two years ago, in a shameful campaign, the Pentagon was gleefully discharging soldiers who refused to take Covid vaccines:

  18. Analysis-Iran enriches more uranium as Gaza war rages, US vote looms
John Irish, Arshad Mohammed and Francois Murphy
Fri, November 17, 2023 at 12:01 AM CST·4 min read

PARIS/WASHINGTON/VIENNA (Reuters) – The United States and its allies have few routes left to rein in Iran’s nuclear work with prospects for talks long buried and tougher actions against Tehran running the risk of stoking tensions in a region already enflamed by the Gaza war.

With a U.S. election next year limiting Washington’s room for manoeuvre, four serving and three former diplomats painted a bleak picture of efforts to curb Iran’s nuclear programme, which according to U.N. nuclear watchdog reports continues to advance.

The diplomats spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity.

According to one of the two confidential reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency and seen by Reuters, Iran now has enough uranium enriched up to 60% purity – close to weapons-grade and a level Western powers say has no civilian use – to make three bombs.

The stockpile continues to grow, the reports say, even though Iran has consistently denied wanting nuclear arms.

Having failed to revive a nuclear deal between Iran and world powers that was abandoned by former U.S. President Donald Trump in 2018, President Joe Biden has no room for now even to consider a more informal “understanding” to curb Iran’s nuclear work with a regional conflict raging and tension spiralling.

“There is a sort of paralysis, especially among the Americans … because they don’t want to add fuel to the fire,” said a senior European diplomat.

Any negotiations to reach an “understanding” with Iran would have entailed Washington offering concessions – such as easing its tough sanctions regime on Tehran – in return for Iranian constraint.

Such a move now looks inconceivable after Iran-backed Palestinian group Hamas launched its devastating attack on Oct. 7 on U.S. ally Israel. Since then, Iran’s regional proxy militias have launched dozens of attacks on U.S. and coalition troops in Iraq and Syria, according to the Pentagon.

At home, the Biden administration is constrained by U.S. presidential elections now just a year away. Trump, who at the moment looks most likely to be Biden’s opponent, could seize on any engagement with Tehran and portray it as weakness.

“In the current environment, it is simply not politically feasible to seek an accommodation with Iran on the nuclear issue,” said Robert Einhorn, a former U.S. State Department official.

“The political debate is really not going to be about negotiating with Iran, it’s going to be about confronting Iran,” he said.

    IRAN STONEWALLING IAEA

Washington has deployed two aircraft carriers to the region and warplanes to the eastern Mediterranean, partly as a warning to Tehran. But U.S. officials have also made clear they do not want an escalation, urging Iran-backed militias to stand down.

Washington and its French, British and German allies – which were among the parties to the 2015 nuclear deal – will now focus on next week’s IAEA Board of Governors meeting.

This week’s IAEA reports showed Iran was making steady nuclear progress and indicated that Tehran continued to stonewall the agency in monitoring its work.

A deal in March to re-install monitoring equipment including surveillance cameras, which were removed last year at Iran’s behest, has only partially been honoured.

Tehran’s “de-designation” in September of some of the agency’s most experienced inspectors – a move that effectively bars them from working in Iran – has also exasperated the IAEA.

Western powers in September had threatened to pass a binding resolution ordering Iran to reverse course – one of the strongest sanctions in the IAEA board’s armoury.

Four diplomats said a resolution was now unlikely because it was imperative to avoid a diplomatic and nuclear escalation with Iran while attention is focused on Israel’s conflict with Hamas.

They said a less inflammatory move, such as a firm non-binding statement, that would threaten tougher action at the next board meeting in March was more likely for now.

“We can’t have a resolution,” said the senior European diplomat. “If we were to pass a resolution … it risks pushing them (the Iranians) over the edge … to 90% enrichment.”

Weapons-grade uranium is around 90% purity.

Two diplomats said all that could be done in coming months was to support IAEA chief Rafael Grossi’s efforts to strengthen oversight of Iran’s nuclear programme. He has been seeking to re-designate his inspectors before the end of the year.

“It’s way too early to say whether Iran will become a nuclear state or whether it will stay a threshold state like now,” one diplomat said. “But for now it will keep enriching.”

  19. Experts raise alarm after Biden strikes agreement with China to shut down fossil fuels
Climate pact will nudge America ‘closer to Beijing-style central planning, production quotas, and groupthink,’ expert tells Fox News Digital

U.S. energy experts are warning of the economic and national security implications of President Biden’s pact with China this week to move towards shutting down fossil fuel production in favor of green energy.

The State Department announced this week it had struck a deal with its Chinese counterparts pledging to “accelerate the substitution for coal, oil and gas generation” with green energy sources like wind and solar power. The nations, which account for nearly half of global greenhouse gas emissions, also agreed to “deepen policy exchanges” on reducing carbon emissions in various sectors, like power, industry, buildings and transportation, across their economies.

But the agreement — in which the nations further pledged to “sufficiently accelerate renewable energy deployment in their respective economies through 2030” — was criticized over its potential impact on U.S. consumers. Experts also noted that China has rarely followed through on international accords and stands to financially benefit from such an agreement since it controls much of the world’s green energy supply chain.

A pro-Palestinian activist group shared a frightening map of New York City landmarks on social media, highlighting the building that houses the New York Post’s newsroom, Grand Central Station and the Museum of Modern Art — and calling for “direct action” to “globalize intifada.”

In addition to the News Corp building and the headquarters of NBC News and the New York Times, Within Our Lifetime, which describes itself as a Palestinian-led community organization, also called for followers to target the Chelsea High Line and the offices of Meta — which is ironically the parent company of Instagram, the platform the group used to spread its incendiary message.

“Each of the locations on this map reflects the location of an office of an enemy of both the Palestinian people and colonized people all over the world. Today and beyond, these locations will be sites for popular mobilization in defense of our people,” the sickening Wednesday night post read.

  21. Hamas War Crimes: Kids Took Part in Oct. 7 Massacre, Weapons Found Hidden in Child’s Bedroom
    by Richard Abelson Nov. 17, 2023 4:20 pm10 Comments

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that kids as young as 10 took part in the vile Hamas massacre of Oct. 7, citing a report from the Washington Free Beacon. A recent report indicates that the Israeli Army found rockets under a mattress in a child’s bedroom. Two terrorists were overheard describing how to transport weapons in baby strollers.

The Washington Free Beacon reports that Arab children as young as 10 participated in the Oct. 10 terror attack: “Eran Smilansky, a 28-year-old potato farmer, watched Gazan children go from house to house in his kibbutz on Oct. 7. Hamas terrorists followed. The boys laughed as the gunmen shot or dragged away Israeli families.”

“They were like young, young kids,” Smilansky told Washington Free Beacon , who defended his home from terrorists for more than six hours that day. “They were going in front of the terrorists, laughing with their friends and looking very calm. I remember thinking, What the fuck?”

Now, new reports suggest that the Israeli Army found rockets hidden under a mattress in a child’s bedroom in the Gaza Strip, JNS reports: A video released by the military shows soldiers lifting the bed, revealing several rockets stashed away in a compartment under the mattress. The bedroom’s door features a sign that read: “Baby girl.”

Upon searching the rest of the house, troops from the IDF’s 551st Reserve Paratroopers Brigade also found rifles, ammunition, explosives and communications equipment, JNS writes.

The IDF Military Intelligence Directorate also released a recording of two Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists describing how weapons are transferred inside baby strollers. “So that he can move with it [the weaponry], he needs to bring a stroller, a baby stroller so that he can move,” one terrorist tells the other.

IDF Southern Command CO Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman visited Shifa Hospital in Gaza Thursday and accused Hamas of cynically using the hospitals in Gaza to hide behind civilians, Israel National News – Arutz Sheva reported

Speaking from above the tunnel shaft located in the Shifa Hospital, Finkelman said, “We see the presence of Hamas in all the hospitals, it is a definite, clear presence. They are cynically using these hospitals, as we can see here in the heart of Shifa.”

“They are hiding under the hospitals with weapons, with command centers, with capabilities, and this tunnel is further proof of that,” he added.

IDF troops of the Shaldag Unit, the 7th Brigade, and additional special units continue targeted activity in the al-Shifa Hospital. A booby-trapped vehicle that was prepared for the October 7th massacre was discovered, containing a large amount of weapons and ammunition. Troops of the Yahalom Unit and 401st Brigade unearthed a terror tunnel in Rantisi Hospital,

The body of Yehudit Weiss, a 65-year-old woman who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7, was found near al-Shifah Hospital. “Yehudit was murdered in the Gaza Strip. Unfortunately, we did not reach her in time,” IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said.

“Unit 636 of the Border Protection Corps, which is currently operating in the Beit Hanoun region of Gaza, identified a lookout post built by Hamas. They fired on it, eliminating the terrorists”, Arutz Sheva reported. “Using drones, the soldiers also spotted three terrorists armed with Kalashnikovs and RPGs. They opened fire on the terrorists and directed an airstrike to eliminate them.”

The commander of the unit commented: “Since the beginning of the ground offensive into Gaza, we have produced the most significant and decisive intelligence on the enemy right from the front lines.”

“This has brought us to multiple locations where terrorists, infrastructure, or munitions used by Hamas or other terrorist organizations were hidden throughout Gaza.”
