Reader’s Links for October 3rd, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. EU Incites Ukrainian Conflict and Stigmatizes Peace Talks – Hungarian Foreign Minister

BUDAPEST – The world outside Europe does not share its position on the Ukraine conflict and does not understand European double standards applied to conflicts in other parts of the planet, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has said. Szijjarto said in an interview on Monday:

“I can say that the world outside Europe is already really looking forward to the end of this war, because they do not understand many things. They do not understand, for example, how it can be that when a war is not in Europe, the European Union, looking down with fantastic moral superiority, calls on the parties to peace, advocates negotiations and an immediate end to violence. However, when there is a war in Europe, the European Union incites the conflict and supplies weapons, and anyone who talks about peace is immediately stigmatized.”

He also said that other countries do not understand why Europe “has made this conflict global” and why people living in Asia, Africa and Latin America have to pay for it due to growing inflation, energy prices and unstable food supplies. Szijjarto added that Hungary’s position on the issue is treated with “great respect” outside the EU, which he was witnessing more than once during the UNGA.…

Szijjarto explained that Budapest seeks to secure the western Ukrainian region of Zakarpatye, where ethnic Hungarians live, since the supply of weapons through its territory would become a military target for Russia. The country’s leadership has repeatedly emphasized that Hungary stands for the earliest possible start of peace negotiations.

  2. Israeli, Saudi Officials Say U.S. Hampering Normalization with Focus on Palestinians

There is growing frustration among Israeli and Saudi officials over what is perceived as an over-emphasis by Washington on having Israel make concessions to the Palestinians as a means of moving forward in the normalization process.

…Biden administration’s focus on this matter is hampering momentum and has impeded breakthroughs.

One source noted that on the big issues – including a potential US-Saudi defense alliance that would come alongside a new civilian nuclear program in the kingdom – there are no insurmountable gaps because the disagreements are not substantial. The source noted, though, that the American emphasis on the Palestinian aspect has been that the American emphasis on the Palestinian aspect is perceived as over the top and is thus undermining the entire process.

The officials stress that Riyadh is not part of the pressure on Israel to make major diplomatic concessions to the Palestinians. [In an interview MbS] refused to make demands from Israel on the Palestinian issue and has simply stated that his expectation was merely that Israel “improved the lives of Palestinians.”

Nevertheless, Biden administration officials have floated a series of demands from Israel, including the reopening of a U.S. consulate IN JERUSALEM to serve as a diplomatic mission to the Palestinians. deal-breaker

Ukraine SitRep: Bad Demographics – End of Support

The ‘age pyramid’ in Ukraine isn’t a pyramid. In 2020 there was a huge lack of 15 to 20 years old people. They were simply not there. They never existed. The number of newborns around 2000 must have been horribly low.…

[W]hen the war started there were only half as many people of 20 year age than 40 year old ones. It is no wonder then that few of younger age are seen at the front line.

There is still one measure Ukraine might take to increase the numbers of young soldiers. There currently are exemptions from mobilization for those who study at a university. If Ukraine would draft these if could probably find a few ten-thousand additional soldiers. But it would also strip itself of its future elite.

The already bad demographic prediction some 20 years out would then look even worse than they currently do.

  3. Saudi Journalist: We Must Not Miss Another Historic Opportunity for Peace with Israel

Saudi journalist and economic analyst Ali Al-Mazyad published an article in Asharq Al-Awsat on Sept. 24, 2023, writing: “A quick review of the situation with Israel reveals that we Arabs have missed numerous opportunities to achieve a just peace with it. First there was the 1965 initiative of then Tunisian President Bourguiba….Then there were the Camp David Accords, which the Arabs boycotted, only to discover that they were the ones hurt. This eventually prompted them to agree to the Oslo Accords.”

“Today we face a historic opportunity because circumstances have emerged that allow its realization. The Arabs should thoroughly examine all the opportunities for peace they have missed, and examine their position on peace based on what they can do to attain better lives for the Palestinians and for the peoples of the region – instead of rejecting initiatives without justification and later agreeing to other, inferior initiatives.”

  4. Col. Richard Kemp:
Will US misconceptions upset the Saudi-Israeli normalization applecart?
Commentary: Whether Jerusalem secures the long-sought normalization depends almost totally on political will in Washington, but the Biden administration’s fixation on the outdated two-state solution could yet again frustrate historic progress in the Middle East

Normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia is inevitable. It is already well underway and has been for some years. Many commentators believe that official diplomatic recognition might founder on the Palestinian issue, with the Saudis demanding compromises that Israel cannot meet. That is not so. The 2020 Abraham Accords were established without any Israeli concessions to the Palestinians, and with complete Saudi backing behind the scenes.…

Economic benefits accruing from normalisation are high up on Saudi’s agenda, but its top priority is security and regime stability, upon which all else depends. Here Iran remains Riyadh’s number one concern, despite restoration of diplomatic relations, as well as the continuing threat of overthrow by Islamic jihadists. Memories of the “Arab Spring” have not faded.

MBS knows exactly what he wants and recognises that he currently has a unique opportunity to achieve it. With the growing strength of the China-Iran-Russia axis in the Middle East, the U.S. needs to do all it can to push back, especially against China.

Tighter relations with Saudi Arabia, and the Western-facing economic and military projects that will go along with that, are important means to serve U.S. strategic objectives, to some extent a reversal of the Obama pivot away from the Middle East which has so demonstrably failed.

[As] leader of the Arab and Muslim world, the Kingdom is obliged to show public support for its Palestinian brothers, in reality, it will probably settle for Israeli gestures such as statements of intent, while restoring significant Saudi funding to the Palestinian Authority. The PA leadership know they can do nothing to prevent normalization if Riyadh decides on it and might as well cash in.…

Saudi understands a two-state solution is not possible. Biden, however, with advisers such as John Kerry, does not understand that and there is little doubt that he is pressing Saudi to demand it. Unless wiser counsels prevail in Washington the unattainable obsessions of the outdated peace processors could yet again frustrate historic progress in the Middle East.

  5. Here We Go: Marc Elias and National Democrats Sue Wisconsin to Block Absentee Voter Witness Requirements – Anything to Steal an Election!
    By Jim Hoft Oct. 3, 2023 8:00 am112 Comments

National Democrats led by far left attorney Marc Elias are suing the state of Wisconsin to block absentee voter witness requirements.

Elias and Democrats want to rid US elections of rules and procedures that prevent Democrats from cheating and stealing votes. This is their latest action.

The current Wisconsin law requires a witness sign and address an absentee ballot envelope. This makes it harder for Democrats to cheat. Of course, Democrats want this eliminated.

When liberal Democrats like Elias can’t legislate their radical agenda to foist upon all Americans, they simply file lawsuits with friendly circuit courts in hopes of accomplishing their radical agenda.

What Iran’s penetration of Washington means
Although alarming, the depth of Iran’s infiltration into the foreign-policy and media establishments exposed in this week’s reports isn’t surprising.

There is something terribly disturbing about the current state of Washington’s foreign-policy establishment.

Tuesday we were hit with the blockbuster reports by Semafor and Iran International exposing the depth of Iran’s infiltration of the U.S. foreign-policy establishment and the Biden administration. The two simultaneously published reports revealed how beginning in 2014, Iran’s Foreign Ministry established a circle of agents in Washington and Europe, which it referred to as the Iran Experts Initiative (IEI)…

Perhaps it was the Washington establishment’s hatred for all things Trump, or perhaps it was the success of Iran’s propaganda efforts executed by members of the IEI and NIAC. But whatever the reason, the fact is that over the past decade and a half, the Washington establishment has embraced Iran regime agents and struck out against anyone who points out their disloyalty to the United States.

And that brings us to the most alarming aspect of the story of Iran’s massive footprint in official Washington: its acceptability.

New Zealand’s Labour Government to Recognize a Palestinian State after October 14 Elections

Justice for Palestine and Alternative Jewish Voices on Sunday reported with considerable glee an announcement by New Zealand’s ruling Labour Party that if it is re-elected on October 14, it would recognize the State of Palestine by inviting the Head of the General Delegation of Palestine to present his credentials as an Ambassador to New Zealand.

Labour gained 50% of the vote in the 2020 election, increasing its presence in the House of Representatives to 65 seats, and marking the first time that a party has won enough seats to govern alone since 1996. It was a landslide victory, with Labour winning “virtually every single electorate,” gaining the support of centrist swing voters. On January 19, 2023, PM Jacinda Ardern announced her resignation as party leader and prime minister, and Chris Hipkins replaced her on January 22.

  10. Tucker Carlson’s Story About the Russian Revolution Is Terrifying – Are We Living in a Similar Time?
By Michael Schwarz, The Western Journal Oct. 3, 2023 10:30 am246 Comments

The Russian Revolution of 1917 sparked a civil war that killed 10 million people and ended in totalitarian communism.

During a speech on Friday, Tucker Carlson drew unsettling parallels between 1917 Russia and the modern United States.

Carlson drew these parallels while delivering the keynote speech at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute’s 70th Anniversary Gala.

At a gathering of conservative academics, Carlson sounded every bit the conservative, libertarian, populist firebrand his audiences have come to expect.

TheBlaze, a conservative news outlet, posted a nearly 5-minute clip of Carlson’s speech on X, formerly Twitter.

Readers can view the clip below.

The clip began with Carlson describing the memoirs of Russian General Pyotr Wrangel, who fought for Czar Nicholas the Second during World War I (1914-18) and later commanded anti-Bolshevik forces in the Russian Civil War (1917-23).

Completing this poll entitles you to our news updates free of charge. You may opt out at anytime. You also agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Wrangel recalled that upon returning from the front lines to the Russian imperial capital of St. Petersburg he witnessed the barbaric early stages of the Bolshevik Revolution.

“Soldiers are going crazy in the streets. And they’re raping women. They’re stealing at gunpoint — soldiers in uniform,” Carlson said on Friday.

Incredibly, many well-off Russians seemed not to notice.

“He goes into a movie theater, and everyone in the movie theater is completely absorbed in the movie, like there’s no revolution happening outside,” Carlson said.

Wrangel immediately went to the imperial court to warn the Czar and the ruling Romanov family, whom he knew well.

“And he notices about 80 percent of the women in the Romanov family are wearing red ribbons in solidarity with the Bolsheviks who wound up — of course we know how it ends — murdering them,” Carlson said.

The former Fox News host then summarized Wrangel’s incredulous reaction.

“How is it that this country is being devoured by a violent revolution, and the people who can afford movie tickets — that is, kind of our middle class — are refusing even to acknowledge that it’s happening, and the ruling class against whom it is aimed are sympathizing with it?”

Carlson saw clear and frightening parallels in the events of 2020.

“And if this doesn’t remind you of [Black Lives Matter], I don’t know what does,” he said.

“I’m reading this on my porch at like midnight. I couldn’t go to sleep. I was like, ‘Wait, I live in that country. That’s happening now.’”

Indeed, BLM Marxists had the same designs as their Bolshevik ideological ancestors.

“This is a revolution. It’s aim is to hurt you. Yes, that would include physically, in the end. Sorry,” Carlson said.

Attacks on free speech and parental rights showcase the revolutionary and authoritarian nature of modern leftists’ assault on Western civilization.

“If someone tells you you’re not allowed to speak, if someone tells you your children are not your children, OK, these are not ideological differences. This is not, ‘Oh, I prefer, you know, this capital gains rate,’” Carlson said.

“These are totalitarian measures that treat you as non-human.”

Carlson identified woke efforts to sexualize children as a particularly dangerous manifestation of leftist totalitarianism that parents must resist.

“People don’t pause to consider the implications of this. If someone says to you, ‘I have a right to make your children hate you, or to say weird creepy sex stuff to your kids,’ what’s your — what’s a valid response to that?” Carlson asked rhetorically.

“Well, in a healthy society, if someone says weird creepy sex stuff to your 8th grader, you get your gun.”

Carlson made no attempt to soften his words.

“‘Oh, you’re calling for violence,’” he said in mockery of anticipated objections. “Yeah. You try and sexualize my children? What? Those are my children.”

“If you’re trying to sexualize my children, I go right to force. And if I can’t do that, I’m not really their father, am I?”

Carlson then summarized his defense of freedom and natural rights.

“I’m calling for applying natural law to American life,” he said.

On the whole, Carlson’s comparison between 1917 Russia and the present-day U.S. should strike us as shockingly plausible.

For one thing, Marxists pursue power by posing as friends of the poor and oppressed. Then, when they acquire power, Marxists render the lives of the poor and oppressed more miserable than ever.

The lives of those who supported BLM have not improved. No one believes that life in the cities has gotten better since 2020.

Thus, every true Marxist amounts to a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Likewise, Marxists believe in internationalism. Nowadays, they have a strong affinity for the kind of globalism that touts open borders and omnipotent international organizations.

Indeed, we often forget that many Russians regarded the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 as a kind of foreign conquest. Karl Marx and his ideas hailed from Germany. In 1917, German agents helped smuggle the exiled Bolshevik leader, Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, aka Lenin, back into Russia.

In short, Russians never voted for communism.

Furthermore, Marxism promotes — in fact, mandates — atheism. The state displaces God. Families crumble. Pride wins.

Finally, the Marxist’s ends always justify the means. The Marxist revolution takes precedence over all else.

As Carlson said, “it’s aim is to hurt you.”

In spite of all these parallels, perhaps the most unsettling observation lay in Wrangel’s description of complacency. So many people in Russia either did not care or did not even notice.

Meanwhile, many who did notice — including most women of the royal family — foolishly lent sympathy to the Marxist tyrants.

    • Richard, I keep asking people out in public, “Why are we the ones that are whispering”?

Don’t believe in abortion, LGBTQrstuvwxyz, changing children’s sex, so called vaccines, Doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers losing their hospital rights or their licenses.——you are shamed and mocked by neighbours, no longer old friends, family members, politicians, the MSM……………

I no longer give a shit what they think. Speak up “I CAN’T HEAR YOU”.

      • Read the article below this one, I reposted this one below the one about General Flynn.

People are whispering because we don’t know who to trust, the left deliberately created this with the FBI infiltrating and taking over groups that were started during the TEA Party days. When you don’t know who to trust you have trouble building a resistance movement, however there are people who are speaking up and rallying the people to go out and vote. This election is our last chance to peacefully retake the nation and reestablish the Republic.

You find more people willing to speak out in the small towns so that is where the resistance will start, and it is where the left is working hard to find ways to silence our voices. Hang in events both transnational and international are working to derail the lefts agenda. Freedom will prevail no matter who wins the next election, the election is to determine which side starts using violence.

As for the parallels between now and the 1917 Revolution there are also skew lines, among those is a well armed citizens militia that will reluctantly take up arms. Reluctantly but once they take them up they won’t but them down until victory.

      • Here is some more to think about, what you are asking the people in the big cities to do is put their families at risk by supporting the people the mob dislikes. The parents are reluctant to do this because they know the police and the Courts won’t back them if they use violence to protect their families or themselves. Once it becomes apparent that keeping quiet won’t work they will move to areas where they are allowed to act like rational people and use violence to protect their families.

It will take time but the people will work to protect their kids, the movement to sexually mutilate the kids was a bridge way too far and it is creating massive resistance.

  11. General Mike Flynn Warns 2024 May Be the Last Election We Have As a Republic
    by Jim H?ft Oct. 3, 2023 2:20 pm64 Comments

Lt. General Michael Flynn warns the American people and particularly the leaders of the GOP that the upcoming 2024 election might be the last chance to preserve the Republic as we know it.

In a post on X, Flynn urgently appeals to Republican Governors and politicians to unite behind former President Donald Trump for the preservation of American democracy and freedom. His words come as a wakeup call for those who have been ignoring the unprecedented level of internal and external threats facing the United States today.

“Every Republican Governor running for POTUS (or not) and all others have to put their egos aside and swallow their pride and get behind Donald Trump immediately. Otherwise, we risk 2024 being the last election to maintain our Republic.”

These grave words should not be ignored, especially when considered in light of the unprecedented assault on American values and democratic institutions.

Flynn went on to say, “Never in US history have we seen such a domestic assault on the fabric of our democracy, with external support from outside dark forces (not a conspiracy theory).”

While many on the left would be quick to dismiss these claims as hyperbolic or alarmist, there is a significant body of evidence that supports his concerns.

It is no secret that Big Tech has been working to curate the information that Americans see, tipping the scales of public opinion and electoral outcomes. We’ve seen mainstream media outlets become the propaganda arms of a particular ideology, rather than neutral providers of news and information.

Moreover, we’ve witnessed the de-platforming and canceling of conservative voices, stifling any opposition to the mainstream narrative. As Flynn mentions, if not for free speech platforms reopened by independent thinkers like Elon Musk, conservative viewpoints would remain underrepresented and suppressed.

The country is veering away from its foundational principles at an alarming rate. Flynn correctly points out that the Democrats have been hijacked by an extreme Marxist-Bolshevik left and globalists.

“The globalists are coming for our faith, our families, our treasure, our lives,” Flynn warned. “The DEMs have been seized by the Marxist / Bolshevik left and the globalists toy with our lives through fake health scares, digital currencies devaluing the US Dollar, open-world insane immigration policies leading to unprecedented global poverty levels, an unnecessary war in Europe costing & wasting billions of American taxpayers dollars and many other even crazier ideas, all to create their one-world government led by people who have no concern about you and me.”

In his statement, Flynn also made a point to thank Tucker Carlson and Victor Davis Hanson for their character and courage. Both of these public intellectuals have been defenders of traditional American values, willing to challenge the liberal status quo perpetuated by mainstream media.

General Flynn also extended his gratitude to Elon Musk for “reopening a massive free speech platform,” emphasizing that without such avenues, the voices of millions of Americans would be effectively silenced.

The General gives a pointed warning to the Republican party, urging them to put aside their egos and individual political ambitions for the greater good of the nation. Flynn particularly mentions Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is running for President in 2024. Flynn notes that more is at stake here than individual political careers; it’s the future of the Republic.

“Ron DeSantis (my governor) the nation is at stake and not just your political career. You and the others running need to stop this politics as usual BS attitude and realize losing our country is a very real possibility!” said Flynn.

Flynn’s comments come after yet another lawsuit against President Trump, which he dismisses as a “junk lawsuit hurled at him by Democrats in New York City.” These endless lawsuits have become a tool to delegitimize Trump and distract from the real issues facing the nation. Rather than focusing on policy and the state of the Republic, the Left seems intent on using legal channels as a form of political warfare.

  12. Biden criticizes misinformation on “X” (Twitter), and targets Elon Musk’s other companies widely

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the Biden administration was “certainly keeping an eye on” misinformation on the social media platform “X.” Owner Elon Musk says “watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold.” One newspaper opined: “Does the Biden Administration have it in for Elon Musk? Since Elon Musk has taken over Twitter (now X), he relaxed its misinformation policies on the platform and has become increasingly critical of Democrats and the Biden administration, federal agencies have begun probing X, Tesla, and SpaceX, raising questions about targeting of the billionaire’s breadth of companies.

Following Musk’s takeover of Twitter last year, his companies have been probed by the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission as he has been an advocated for free speech on the platform. The probes include the Justice Department’s Immigrant and Employee Rights division investigating a complaint of employment discrimination from a non-U.S. citizen, who alleged that SpaceX discriminated against him based on his citizenship status, according to Reuters.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York are also investigating the personal benefits that Tesla may have provided its CEO Elon Musk since 2017 as part of a criminal probe that is also looking into the use of company funds to build a proposed glass house.

President Joe Biden was asked by ProPublica in an interview aired Sunday if Musk lowering the guardrails against misinformation on Twitter (now X) contributed to the problem of misinformation.

“Yeah, it does,” Biden said. “Where do people get their news?” he later added. “They go on the internet. They go online … and you have no notion whether it’s true or not.”

Musk wrote in a post last year that he has previously “voted Democrat,” but would “vote Republican” because the Democratic Party had “become the party of division & hate.”

“Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold,” he added.

On Thursday, Musk visited Eagle Pass, Texas, along the U.S.-Mexico border, talking with local law enforcement and Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas. Musk said on Friday that the border “situation is beyond insane and growing fast.”

During Musk’s livestream of his border visit, he said that as an immigrant to the U.S., he is “extremely pro-immigrant” and believes “we should let anyone in the country who is hard-working and honest and will be a contributor to the United States.”

“But by the same token, we should also not be allowing people in the country if they’re breaking the law,” he later added. “That doesn’t make sense. The law is there for a reason. I think we want to do both things.”

Last month, the Wall Street Journal’s Editorial Board published an Op/Ed titled, “The Harassment of Elon Musk.” The Journal posted the piece on X last Monday, writing, “Does the Biden Administration have it in for Elon Musk? The Tesla CEO faces a remarkable number of government probes.”

Musk reposted the Journal’s story post on X the next day, writing, “Sure seems that way.”

The Journal’s piece noted how the Biden administration is probing Musk’s Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter (now X), which all began over the past year.

In late November 2022, about a month after Musk’s $44 billion deal to purchase Twitter was completed, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during a press briefing that the Biden administration was “certainly keeping an eye on” misinformation on the social media platform.

“[W]e have always been very clear and — that when it comes to social media platforms, it is their responsibility to make sure that when it comes to misinformation, when we — when it comes to the hate that we’re seeing, that they take action, that they continue to take action,” Jean-Pierre said.

The FTC had already requested some documentation from Twitter by the time of the press briefing.

According to a report titled, “The Weaponization of the Federal Trade Commission: An Agency’s Overreach to Harass Elon Musk’s Twitter,” released in March by the House Judiciary Committee’s Weaponization of the Federal Government Select Subcommittee, the FTC “demanded that Twitter provide” various documents to the agency.

“When Musk took action to reorient Twitter around free speech, the FTC followed soon thereafter with a new demand letter,” the report reads.

Among the records sought by the FTC include “Information relating to journalists’ work protected by the First Amendment, including their work to expose abuses by Big Tech and the federal government”; “Every single internal communication ‘relating to Elon Musk’”; and “All of the reasons why Twitter terminated former Twitter employee and FBI official Jim Baker,” in addition to other information, according to the House subcommittee’s report.

“The FTC’s harassment of Twitter is likely due to one fact: Musk’s self-described ‘absolutist’ commitment to free expression in the digital town square,” the report reads.

Meanwhile, in August, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against SpaceX “for discriminating against asylees and refugees in hiring,” the department announced.

“In job postings and public statements over several years, SpaceX wrongly claimed that under federal regulations known as ‘export control laws,’ SpaceX could hire only U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, sometimes referred to as ‘green card holders.’ Export control laws impose no such hiring restrictions,” according to the DOJ.

The DOJ referenced Musk’s 2020 Twitter post that reads, “US law requires at least a green card to be hired at SpaceX, as rockets are considered advanced weapons technology.”

Musk had previously said that SpaceX is governed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, which places restrictions about transferring information to foreign nationals from companies that creates technology such as rockets and spacecraft.

Impulse Space founder Tom Mueller posted on X about the lawsuit in August, writing, “So, if I let a non-US citizen see our rocket hardware, I go to ITAR jail, but if i don’t hire a non US citizen I get sued by DoJ. Got it.”

Musk responded to the post on X, writing, “Exactly. SpaceX was told repeatedly that hiring anyone who was not a permanent resident of the United States would violate international arms trafficking law, which would be a criminal offense. We couldn’t even hire Canadian citizens, despite Canada being part of NORAD! This is yet another case of weaponization of the DOJ for political purposes.”

SpaceX countersued the DOJ last month, claiming in its filing that it “has not engaged in any practice or pattern of discriminating against anyone, including asylees or refugees.”

As to the investigations unleashed by the Biden administration regarding the “glass building”, Musk posted on X last month, writing, “Just want to reiterate that there is no glass house (metaphors don’t count lol) built, under construction or planned! I’m not building any house of any kind anywhere.

  13. Pope Francis suggests for first time some people in same-sex unions could be blessed

    Rome CNN —

Pope Francis has suggested for the first time that people in same-sex unions could be blessed by Catholic priests on a “case-by-case” basis, a seeming reversal of previous statements.

The Pope made the suggestion in a letter to his harshest critics within the Catholic ranks, written in response to a letter from five conservative cardinals with formal questions – called a “dubia” (Latin for “doubt”) – which is an official request for a yes or no answer from a sitting pontiff regarding his running of the Church.

The cardinals, Walter Brandmuller, Raymond Leo Burke, Juan Sandoval Iniguez, Robert Sarah and Joseph Zen Ze-kiun, first sent the letter to Pope Francis on July 10. It focused on an upcoming October meeting of bishops, asking what impact it could have on Church’s teaching, and included questions about the Pope’s intention to bless same-sex unions, and whether he intends to open the door to women priests through ordination.

  14. What Kennedy’s Independent Candidacy Means to Biden and Trump
    By J. Robert Smith

Democrats are in a snit. RFK Jr. is returning the copious fairness — even generosity — that they’ve shown him with big slaps on their kissers. On October 9, Kennedy is expected to announce he’s running for president sans Democrat by his name. The announcement will be made from Philly, no less, where Unser Führer Joe Biden staged a very Third Reichian denouncement of Donald Trump and millions of MAGA voters who “threaten the very foundations of our republic.” Kennedy may have chosen the locale to smite the tinhorns.

In the coming weeks and months, lively speculation will abound as to who Kennedy’s independent venture helps or hurts more, Biden or Trump. We’ll say it hurts old Joe — or whoever Joe’s replacement is, if he’s replaced.

In his announcement, Kennedy is expected to condemn attacks on First Amendment rights. He does so now. Defense of the First Amendment unsettles Democrats, unless it conforms to their Orwellian twist: “Censorship is free speech.”

Kennedy is jumping ship because he’s a little worn out by Democrats’ indulgences — like rigging primaries to favor Biden, who, since his virtuoso Great Dictator impersonation, has drifted deeper into stumbling, babbling dementia. Yet, even when old Joe was forced to hang out in the basement, Democrats pushed him over the finish line, successfully fixing some key state elections to defeat Trump by a whisker.

Four years later, Democrats have fine-tuned election rigging. You can bet on it. Plus, they’re arrogant p***ks. They doubtlessly believe that however lopsided public sentiment is against Joe, they can drag his withering carcass across the finish line yet again. Or, heaven forefend, if Joe kicks the bucket, they can Weekend at Bernie’s him into the White House.

RFK Jr. is also skedaddling because he’s made repeated requests for Secret Service protection. He’s convinced that the CIA killed his uncle Jack or played a part. His dad was gunned down in the kitchen of the long-demolished Ambassador Hotel. Kennedy suspects that Sirhan Sirhan wasn’t the trigger man.

Kennedy must calculate that Biden’s handlers refusal to provide protection for him goes beyond adherence to protocol and budget consciousness.

With Trump’s ascension in 2015, government elites revealed themselves to be a ruthless bunch. False accusation, entrapment, impeachment, and lawfare have targeted Trump and others. Nonviolent J6ers languish in prisons and some who have been tried and convicted of misdemeanor offenses have received punitive sentences.

Two Democrat-run state jurisdictions and a thoroughly corrupted DoJ have leveled sham indictments against Trump, 91 in all. These unprecedented abuses of law are designed to terminate Trump’s presidential bid, thereby denying voters a legitimate choice. The second is to utterly ruin the man.

That’s a long way of asking if a darker motive is possible in denying Secret Service protection to Kennedy?

That RFK Jr. is jumping ship is no small deal. The Democrat Party is the Kennedys ancestral home politically. Jack and Bobby were loyal Democrats, even though Bobby helped nudge out LBJ in ’68. Teddy challenged the flailing Jimmy Carter for his party’s nomination in ’80 and was competitive. Though he didn’t help Carter in the general, he didn’t bolt the party, either.

But if old bootleggin’ Joe Kennedy was alive to see how his grandkid is being kicked around by a bunch of party hacks and hustlers, his Irish would be way up. Not only would he bless RFK Jr.’s maverick run but invoke the old family motto: “Don’t get mad, get even.”

As to Kennedy’s chances of winning the presidency, keep in mind that he’ll have to secure enough state ballots to gain 270 electoral votes. That’s a tall order. His best bet would be to run on the Libertarian ticket, if possible. The Libertarian Party has the infrastructure to get him on most state ballots.

It could be that Kennedy simply intends to get even with Democrats by trying to shift the party’s locus back toward the middle.

For him, ’24 may be about an insurgency, kinda like what young leftists staged in the aftermath of Humphrey’s ’68 loss to Nixon. That insurgency came to full bloom in ’72, when George McGovern captured the Democrat presidential nomination. Though McGovern was crushed by Nixon, the Democrat Party would no longer be the party of bosses and old JFK-style liberalism.

If Kennedy’s aim is to drag the Democrat Party back toward the center, that’s a long shot. The party’s momentum drives it leftward, toward tyranny. Today’s Democrats threaten the republic in ways that rival the threat posed by Democrats in the 1850s. It actually may be worse this time because these Democrats seek dominance, not disunion.

But how could Kennedy’s independent candidacy hurt Joe and help Trump?

Kennedy provides a safe haven for Democrats who are disenchanted with Biden or aspects of his administration’s agenda. Yes, those Democrats exist. Democrat-leaning independents — who are anti-Trump but sick of Biden — could park their votes with him. That could constitute a critical drain on Biden’s support in five states that decided the ’20 election: Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire.

There are other states — like Michigan and North Carolina — where Kennedy could pull enough votes to put those states in play. North Carolina in play wouldn’t be to Trump’s advantage, but we’ll bet Trump holds the Tar Heel State.

What are Kennedy’s prospects of damaging Trump?

Among what cohorts is Trump likely to see defectors? Among establishment Republican voters (RINOs) and squishy Republican-leaning independents. But aren’t they prone to defect, anyway?

Keep in mind that Trump’s base support and then some are a Rock of Gibraltar. It drove Trump’s candidacy through ’16 and drove him to achieve an historic vote total for an incumbent president in ’20. That base plus will be there for him in ’24. (We’re assuming Democrat lawfare fails to waylay Trump next year.) In a three-way race, where Kennedy has more pull among unhappy Democrats and Democrat-leaners, Trump’s base support plus may be more than sufficient to win swing states — at least the right combination to give him the presidency.

In a three-way race, it becomes tougher for Democrats to manufacture more votes from the same number of jurisdictions — tougher, not impossible. Democrats would certainly try to up their tallies to offset the Kennedy Effect.

A key question is, “Will Biden be the Democrat nominee in ’24?” Even if Biden dies or is given the hook, Democrats’ alternatives aren’t appealing.

Michelle Obama? The smart money is that she adores being a really rich woman who’s paid lavishly to spout her opinions at high-dollar progressive soirees. There’s no heavy lift in her.

Kamala? How do Democrats sack Kamala without cutting a backroom deal with her involving a lot of money and plenty of face-saving? She could be their nominee, and even for a party that cheats, she might be too much to overcome.

Gavin Newsom? He’d probably be the elite’s favorite. But slick-haired Gavin won’t wear well. He comes across like a smarmy used car salesman. His political success is due to family connections (Nancy Pelosi is his aunt) and the dreary fact that California is a one-party state.

Whatever RFK Jr.’s impact is on the contest, he needs to be taken seriously. His agenda, while in many ways conventionally progressive, offers some truly bold departures for a contemporary Democrat. He’s for liberty in important ways. He’s against war, and against concentrations of power in the private and public sectors.

Let’s hope Kennedy helps defeat Biden or whoever next year. Then let’s hope Trump extends a hand to him and his allies. Defeating the wannabe tyrants in our midst and restoring this nation to the fullest measure of liberty should be every patriot’s aim.

I have been contacted by the police and numerous accounts inquiring about whether I’m involved and supportive of the “save the children” convoy.
I have not and do not support this initiative. It’s been handled in a very secretive and potentially dangerous manner, with many irresponsible and divisive people at the helm.
I also believe the timing is very distasteful considering the trials taking place in Ottawa.
