Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  1. Chicago aldermen call for more transparency on migrant crisis spending after NBC 5 Investigates report
    Favorite Healthcare Staffing has been paid at least $56 million since last October to provide care for the more than 13,000 migrants who now call Chicago home, records obtained by NBC 5 Investigations reveal.

    NBC 5 Investigates has obtained two invoices showing employees of Favorite Healthcare Staffing, which help operate the city’s migrant shelters, made at least $135 an hour.

    In some cases, it was more.

    One facility manager reportedly earned $14,000 in a week. An invoice for a nurse shows that person was paid more than $20,000 for a week in December. Both invoices did include overtime.

    Additional records showed the Kansas-based company, Favorite Healthcare Staffing, has been paid at least $56 million since last October to provide care for the more than 13,000 migrants who now call Chicago home.

      A famous adage attributed to Winston Churchill and even a Chicago mayor is: “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” Democrats, Republicans and fraudsters embraced that mindset when it came to spending on COVID-19 and the migrant crisis.
      More than $280 billion in COVID-19 relief funding was stolen through fraud, and another $123 billion was wasted or misspent, according to an analysis by The Associated Press. The total loss represents more than 10% of the $4.2 trillion the government has disbursed to deal with COVID-19.
      The migrant crisis in Chicago is no different.
      WMAQ-Ch. 5?s “NBC 5 Investigates” recently obtained invoices from the city of Chicago showing two employees of Favorite Healthcare Staffing, which assists in operating the city’s migrant shelters, made at least $135 an hour. NBC also reported that a facility manager earned $14,000 in one week. Favorite Healthcare Staffing has been paid at least $56 million since last October to provide care for 13,000 migrants.
      WBBM-Ch. 2 fought for six months to obtain records detailing city spending on migrants’ care. What it received shows that the city spent more than $159,000 on laundry, nearly $70,000 on table and chair rentals, almost $67,000 on portable toilets and sinks, and $20,000 on linens and napkins.
      Mayor Brandon Johnson said he is planning to house migrants in winterized tent camps and that caring for migrants through the end of the year could cost taxpayers more than $300 million. This is a bad idea; it is the equivalent of putting a Band-Aid on a shotgun wound. This brand says that if you ask to simply be left alone, to be allowed to mind your own parenting business, you are the aggressor. This is one of the simpler dialectical inversions that we see, compared for example to the deployment of the Islam OS for our destruction, and it works well enough to perpetuate Trudeau’s perpetual dividing of Canadian society. The word HATE has lost its use as linguistic currency except in its neo-Marxist usage. I’m confident Dear Leader’s Marxist brain trust is looking down on the week’s events quite self-satisfied with the SNAFU (situation normal all fucked up) they have worked so many years to create.

    But like every communist endeavor in history, its greatest creation is destruction, full stop. Even when one looks closely at the whole globalist machinery, destruction is the design limit. All promises of paradise are relegated strictly to the tendering process. Oblivious workers contributing to the construction just don’t see it is their own prison they make.

Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and his wife Nadine have been indicted in New York for allegedly accepting bribes in relation to an allegedly corrupt relationship they had with three businessmen from their home state. The indictment also charges three businessmen, Wael Hana, Jose Uribe and Fred Daibes.

    “Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value,” reads the indictment.

    Bloomberg obtained a memo from Alrosa addressed to its customers, explaining rough diamond sales for September and October have been suspended as the company “strives to reverse the existing trend of diminishing demand.”

    The Biden administration has a strange new ID card for illegal immigrants.

    A cynic might wonder if they will need those cards when they vote.

    On Thursday, Fox News reported that it had obtained images of the new ICE Secure Docket Card, which features, among other things, a QR code.

    As one might expect with something called a “docket card,” the QR code will link to court documents.

    ICE called it a “consistent, verifiable, secure card” for “provisionally released noncitizens.”

    Such jargon always conceals mischief. In this case, “provisionally released noncitizens” means people who entered the United States illegally, but whom the government now allows to stay.

    Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Department of Homeland Security announced that 472,000 illegal immigrants from strife-riddled Venezuela would be eligible for Temporary Protection Status — i.e. protection from deportation — as well as work authorization.

    In related news, Fox also reported that thousands of mostly Venezuelan immigrants crossed the border Wednesday near Eagle Pass, Texas.

    All of these incongruous images produce a good deal of confusion.

    On one hand, Americans have always welcomed refugees in genuine need of asylum. Real human suffering calls forth Christian charity, no matter the circumstances.

    On the other hand, why the QR codes? Do Venezuelan “refugees” have smart phones and data plans?

    Every aspect of federal immigration policy defies belief, including the new ID cards.

    R.J. Hauman, president of the National Immigration Center for Enforcement and a visiting adviser at the Heritage Foundation, told Fox News that the federal government now treats illegal immigrants like citizens.

    “ICE is a federal law enforcement agency, not the DMV,” Hauman said. “When will Congress wake up and put an end to these open-borders, anti-enforcement programs that defy the agency’s mission and enable the crisis?

    “ICE should be arresting, detaining, and removing those who come here illegally, not doling out social services,” he added.

    The new ID card also includes personal information, a photograph and the ICE logo. At first glance, one could not tell the difference between the new ID card and a standard driver’s license.

    When ICE announced the Secure Docket Card program last year, a spokesperson raved about its benefits.

    “For provisionally released noncitizens, the digital modernization will provide ongoing access to important immigration documents through the secure card and connected portal,” the ICE spokesperson told Fox News.

    Skeptics object not to digital modernization, but to what the card represents.

    When a university rejects applicants, it does not then issue ID cards. It gives those only to admitted students.

    Of course, the university may later expel wayward students for a number of reasons. But the card signals that it does not intend expulsion at the outset.

    The card says, “Welcome to our community. We want you to stay.”

    A report at the Epoch Times cites word that Biden soon will announce a new “White House office on gun violence prevention.”

    The Times reveals, “According to published reports, the office will be staffed by gun control activists from Everytown for Gun Safety, the organization started by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and the Community Justice Action Fund.”

    The executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation, Alan Gottlieb, told the Times that simply puts the gun ban lobby “on the White House payroll.”

    A federal grand jury in New York has returned a sweeping indictment against United States Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., chairman of the powerful Foreign Relations Committee, in connection with improper foreign relations and business dealings.

    The investigation focused on a luxury car, gold bars and an apartment allegedly received by Menendez and his wife, Nadine Arslanian. His wife was also indicted.

    As president Biden sleepwalks into giving into giving Ukraine ‘a limited number’ of ATCMS operational-tactical missiles with cluster ammunition, an attack on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in the Crimean capital of Sevastopol shows that, while long-range missiles can’t turn things around in the war, they can still inflict a lot of damage.

    At around 10:30am local time, a Ukrainian attack on Sevastopol struck the Black Sea Fleet headquarters’ historic building, using Storm Shadow/Scalp missiles.

    Initial information is that one Russian serviceman is reported missing. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian air defenses downed at least five missiles during the attack.

    Crimean Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev announced that the missile and aviation threat in Sevastopol is now over, but asked citizens to refrain from traveling to the city center.

    Joe Biden on Friday delivered remarks on ‘gun safety’ from the Rose Garden. Kamala Harris joined Biden as they announced a new office on gun violence prevention.

    “I’ll continue to urge Congress to take common sense actions that the majority of Americans support like enacting universal background checks and banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines,” Biden said in a statement.

    “But in the absence of that sorely-needed action, the Office of Gun Violence Prevention along with the rest of my Administration will continue to do everything it can to combat the epidemic of gun violence that is tearing our families, our communities, and our country apart,” Biden said.

    This past week extreme-left Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel admitted to a friendly left-wing group that she couldn’t get 2020 Trump Electors in Michigan to flip and falsely testify against one another because they were “brainwashed” and actually believed that Trump won the 2020 election. Nessel’s statements are captured on video.

    Here is the transcript of what Nessel said to a secret group of elite Democrat funders:

    AG NESSEL: “People talk a lot about, oh, why don’t you start flipping some of those people [2020 Michigan Trump Electors] so that they can become witnesses against the remaining defendants, the worst acting defendants. The problem is, these are people who have been brainwashed. And when I say brainwashed, how do you flip someone who concedes that they did everything that they’re accused of doing? But what they say is, ‘we believe that we were in the right we think that Donald Trump is the real winner of the election.’ They legit believe that — they genuinely believe it. So how do you how do we somebody can plead guilty if they wanted to, because they can’t admit that what they did violated the law because they still think they’re right.”

    “In Ingham County where Lansing is located um is a very, very Democratic leaning County. But I worry that there will be people who just won’t care that they clearly violated the law, because they believe that the ends justify the means. Um and that’s, you know, it’s okay to do, as long as the end game is getting um this autocrat into office who will surely be the end of democracy in this nation.”

    Left-wing zealot Nessel charged 16 Trump electors with 8 felony counts each, including forgery and fraud for having filed a slate of ‘alternate electors’ in December 2020, on July 18.

    The eight counts were: 1) Conspiracy to Commit Forgery, 2) Forgery, 3) Forgery, 4) Conspiracy to Commit Uttering and Publishing, 5) Uttering and Publishing, 6) Conspiracy to Commit Election Law Forgery, 7) Election Law Forgery, 8) Election Law Forgery. The 16 charged are: Kathy Berden, Rose Rook, Mayra Rodriguez, Hank Choate, Meshawn Maddock, Mari-Ann Henry, John Haggard, Cliff Frost, Kent Vanderwood, Stan Grot, Marian Sheridan, Tim King, James Renner, Michele Lundgren, Amy Facchionello, Ken Thompson.

    A basic legal requirement for a prosecutor to prove such charges is proving beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendants had a guilty state of mind when they took the allegedly illegal action. Meaning that, the specific state of mind of the electors is directly at issue in the case, and Nessel’s admission that the electors were brainwashed was privately met with enthusiasm by lawyers defending the electors.

    Even far-left CNN was forced to quote a former federal prosecutor who said that what Nessel said undermines her entire case against the Trump electors.

    Shan Wu, a former federal prosecutor told CNN Nessel’s comments were “inappropriate” and added that the comments “Undermine the validity of her prosecution theory,” Wu said. “If you think these people are brainwashed, then they didn’t have the right state of mind and couldn’t form the criminal intent to break the law, because they were being brainwashed by others.”

    As well, Democrat Nessel bragged that by bringing the case in Ingham County, which is the home of state Capitol Lansing, they were likely to get favorable judicial outcomes because “Ingham County is very, very Democratic…”

    Prior election results generally show that Ingham County is roughly 2 to 1 Democrat. Nearly all of the County elected officials are Democrats.

    The electors are being charged for having filled out this Certificate of Votes on December 14, 2020. The Trump electors have been repeatedly defamed by the mainstream media as “fake” or “false” electors even though they were legally and validly elected by Republican voters. As well, social media postings by the electors at the time clearly show that they never intended to replace or remove the Biden electors, their goal was to provide a valid slate of alternate electors in case a Congressional investigation into systemic voter fraud occurred.

    Joe Biden is planning to travel to Michigan on Tuesday. UAW President Shawn Fain had invited leaders to come join the picket lines in the union strike against Ford, Stellantis, and General Motors.

    Last Friday, the UAW called on distributors for General Motors and Stellantis to join the expanding strike. This brings the labor dispute to 38 locations in 20 states.

    (Reuters) -A federal judge in California on Friday declared that state’s ban on magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition unconstitutional, saying it violated the Second Amendment rights of firearms owners.

    U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez in San Diego said California’s “sweeping ban” went too far by preventing people from using magazines for lawful purposes, including self-defense.

    “The history and tradition of the Second Amendment clearly supports state laws against the use or misuse of firearms with unlawful intent, but not the disarmament of the law-abiding citizen,” Benitez wrote in a 71-page decision.

    Benitez cited a June 2022 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v Bruen, requiring that firearms restrictions be “consistent with this nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation” to pass muster.

    California Attorney General Rob Bonta, who enforces the state’s laws, plans to seek a stay while he appeals the decision to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco.

    He said Californians need to be kept safe from weapons enhancements that are “designed” to cause mass casualties.

    “The Supreme Court was clear that Bruen did not create a regulatory straitjacket for states–and we believe that the district court got this wrong,” Bonta said. “We will move quickly to correct this incredibly dangerous mistake.”

    Benitez delayed enforcing his injunction against the law for 10 days to give Bonta time to seek a stay.

    The judge had struck down the magazines ban in March 2019, but the 9th Circuit overturned him in Nov. 2021. The Supreme Court vacated the appeals court ruling and ordered new proceedings consistent with the Bruen decision.

    Chuck Michel, president of the California Rifle & Pistol Association, in a statement, said Friday’s decision reflects the “sea change in the way courts must look at these absurdly restrictive laws.

    A $4 billion Panasonic electric vehicle battery factory in De Soto, Kansas, will help satisfy the Biden administration’s efforts to get everyone into an EV.

    It also will help extend the life of a coal-fired power plant.

    Resource Adequacy
    Panasonic broke ground on the facility last year. The Japanese company was slated to receive $6.8 billion from the Inflation Reduction Act, which has been pouring billions into electric vehicles and battery factories as part of its effort to transition America away from fossil fuels.

    The Kansas City Star reports that the factory will require between 200 and 250 megawatts of electricity to operate. That’s roughly the amount of power needed for a small city.

    In testimony to the Kansas City Corporation Commission, which is the state’s equivalent of the Wyoming Public Service Commission, a representative of Evergy, the utility serving the factory, said that the 4 million-square-foot Panasonic facility creates “near term challenges from a resource adequacy perspective,” according to the newspaper.

    As a result, the utility will continue to burn coal at a power plant near Lawrence, Kansas, and it will delay plants to transition units at the plant to natural gas.

    Not Happy
    And environmentalists are not happy about that.

    The situation reflects an ignored fact about EVs — they require enormous amounts of energy to produce.

    A 15-pound lithium-ion battery holds about the same amount of energy as a pound of oil. To make that battery requires 7,000 pounds of rock and dirt to get the minerals that go into that battery. The average EV battery weighs around 1,000 pounds.
