Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    A law lecturer has claimed she was sacked by the Open University after questioning requirements to “indoctrinate students in gender identity theory”.
    Dr Almut Gadow, 43, has alleged that in 2021-22, the university’s equality, diversity and inclusion department announced plans to “incorporate its political ideologies” across the curriculum. She claimed that she raised concerns about requirements, including introducing diverse gender identities into the curriculum and teaching students to use offenders’ preferred pronouns. She said she argued that a criminal lawyer’s role “is to present facts” and that “sex is a relevant fact for offences involving perpetrators’ and/or victims’ bodies”. Dr Gadow also argued that “no offender should be allowed to dictate the language of his case in a way which masks relevant facts”.She also told colleagues that not holding a gender identity belief was a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. Discrimination claim. Dr Gadow was told that her posts relating to gender identity in the online forum amounted to “serious insubordination” because she had been told it was not the place for such discussions. She was told that her persistence in posting comments on issues relating to gender identity and gender identity belief, paedophilia, and sex offending amounted to “serious bullying and harassment”. The content of several of her posts was a breach of the university’s transgender staff policy because they may “create an environment in the forum that isn’t inclusive, trans-friendly, or respectful”, she was told. She was sacked for gross misconduct in November. Dr Gadow, who is being supported by the Free Speech Union and is crowdfunding for her case, claims she was harassed, discriminated against, and unfairly dismissed because she rejects gender ideology and believes in academic freedom. She told The Telegraph that she believed the university’s “liberating curriculum” policy was “effectively a checklist of ideological compliance”. Comparisons from history: Dr Gadow has drawn comparisons between her sacking and the experience of Hartmut Gadow, her Jewish grandfather, in Nazi Germany. He was an undergraduate who studied at an illicit underground institution when the Nazis cleansed academia of “wrong thinkers”.He was repeatedly tried for speech crimes and sentenced to death by hanging, but managed to escape.Dr Gadow said: “Generally, this academia being taken over by a political movement, is not a question of Left or Right. It is a question of totalitarianism. “We have seen it under both regimes. I didn’t think it would happen like that in England, to be quite honest.”In her legal claim, she hopes to set a precedent that establishes academic freedom as a protected belief. “Establishing this in law could protect many other academics whose careers are threatened by the rising tide of intolerance on UK campuses,” she said.‘Important case’. Dr Kathleen Stock, the academic who was hounded out of Sussex University over her gender-critical views, said:
    “This is a very important case, with potentially far-reaching repercussions for the university sector. It demonstrates the link between highly ideological, terminologically vague equality, diversity and inclusion policies – which are rife across the sector – and acts of discrimination against university members.for their lawful beliefs.
    “It also shows how university pedagogy is being unreasonably constrained by a narrow set of shallow ideas, high on emotion and low on evidence, at the behest of activist groups.”
    A spokesman for the Open University said it would “vigorously defend” itself against Dr Gadow’s charges.They added: “Given these ongoing legal proceedings, we do not intend to comment further at this time, save to say that we strongly dispute the account which we understand Almut Gadow to have given to the media about the circumstances of, and reasons for, her dismissal; the university’s criminal law curriculum and modules; and its equality, diversity and inclusion policies.”

    • Wow! Toby Young is the son of Lord Young who founded the Open University! Go Toby! I would hate to think if Lord Young was still around and seeing this horror.

    • They could be much higher, the closest historical areas are the trench war in WWII and the Russian front in WWII. Both were famous for the Generals throwing large numbers of troops into the meat grinder.

      Given the massive amounts of propaganda both sides are putting out I doubt if we will ever know the real causality figures.

    As Biden continues his indifference over Maui with “no comment,” survivors recover charred remains of ‘entire families.’

    The death toll is still rising and morgues are running out of body bags.

    Meanwhile, Joe Biden is on his way to Lake Tahoe for another vacation.

    The Daily Mail reported: “Maui authorities are dramatically underplaying the number of people known to have died in the inferno that ripped through Lahaina last week – with locals telling DailyMail.com that the actual death toll is at least 480 and that morgues had run out of body bags.”

    “The figure is quadruple that of the official number of 111 – and some of the relatives of the victims have been left to uncover the remains of their loved ones themselves due to the glacial progress of the search and recovery operation.”

    One has to ask, why is there not more urgency on the part of the Federal government for help? Maybe because Maui isn’t named Ukraine? Perhaps.

    A video obtained by the Daily Mail shows authorities loading bodies onto refrigerated trucks as an addition to the morgue since they ran out of room.

    Allisen Medina, a 24-year-old Maui resident who has been helping the victims of the Lahaina fire, explained just how bad it really is.

    Speaking in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, she said:

    ‘People have been doing their own recovery. ‘I know there are at least 480 dead here in Maui and I don’t understand why they’re [the authorities] not saying that. Maybe it’s to do with DNA or something.

    ‘I do know they ran out of body bags by the first or second night and had to ship some in from the mainland.’

    “Allisen says the slow recovery process has led to family members being left to find the charred corpses of their loved ones themselves, including a friend of hers who lost four family members.”

    The devastation and loss of life is largely due to the slow emergency response from both federal and state governments – both run by incompentent and corrupt Democrats.

    The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Wednesday there was an official request made to divert the water and it was ignored for several hours by Deputy Director M. Kaleo Manuel (an Obama Foundation fellow) of the Hawaii Commission on Water Resource Management Hawaii Commission on Water Resource Management (CWRM).

    Maui’s emergency operations chief, Herman Andaya, had no conventional background in disaster response, an alarming revelation that has heightened concerns over his decision-making.

    The effort to rebuild Maui should be a top priority, but with the Biden regime running the show there is a slim to none chance that will happen.

    Deanne Criswell is current FEMA Director serving under Joe Biden. Criswell is the first woman nominated to lead the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Biden administration cheered her appointment noting that Deanne has a strong background in climate change. That’s an important attribute for a FEMA director when fires are destroying communities and floods and tornadoes are leveling mainland cities and towns.

    On Friday Criswell was asked why the people of Maui report no sign of government assistance after the historic fire that ripped across the island killing over 100 locals.

    Notice how the fake news reporters are NOT screaming at her for her failed emergency operation in Maui.

    The House Oversight Committee released evidence that Joe Biden was using at least three different pseudonyms while doing illicit business dealings with foreign actors while he was Vice President.

    This was damning evidence that further links Joe Biden to likely criminal acts with his son Hunter.

    Biden used the email address “Ro*************@*ci.gov” while Barack Obama’s sidekick and that his aide John Flynn cc’d Hunter on 10 emails containing Joe’s schedule between May 18 and June 15, 2016.

    He also used “Robin Ware” and “JRB Ware” while “working” as vice-president.

    It has been revealed that a secret guest was staying in the White House for two weeks, unbeknownst to most of the White House staff.

    On Thursday, the Washington Post reported that the day after the president’s embattled son Hunter Biden reached an initial plea deal with prosecutors in June, the president and first lady received some secret guests at the White House.

    Those guests were none other than Hunter Biden, his wife and his young son, who stayed in the Executive Mansion for two weeks, with most White House aides having absolutely no knowledge of the visit.

    The two-week stay included a controversial appearance alongside the president and the Indian Prime Minister and an appearance on the balcony of the White House during the Fourth of July celebrations.

    So that is how I see the future.
    I am sorry if my thoughts seem depressing.
    But it is surely better to have some idea of what may come —- and to be prepared. And, of course, I could be wrong. Maybe everything will be back to normal in a month.

    I suspect that we are all going to have to change our ambitions and our hopes and our plans. Life is going to become more like living in a science fiction novel than some might like. Those who can become at least a little independent will survive the disappointments and the frustrations of the future most easily and, dare I say it, with most self-respect and dignity. Usually, it is the young who cope best with change. but, we are going through massive, fundamental lifestyle changes and children and millennials will not cope as well as older citizens

    There is no doubt that those of us who see the truth are in a minority. There may, however, be enough dissidents to create an underground protest movement. If so, nations will be divided into those who believe their government’s version of the truth and those who prefer the truth.

    To paraphrase Henry David Thoreau, the mass of people are incredibly gullible and frighteningly unwilling to question what they are told—especially when they can be convinced that there is any sort of national or global ‘crisis’. It is in a ‘crisis’ that leaders can most readily rely on the fearful following obediently. And the greater the fear becomes, the more obedient people will be.
