Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    Surprise China Rate Cut Only Highlights Tough Choices Facing Xi

    Bloomberg) — President Xi Jinping has resisted pulling the trigger on a major stimulus to revive the world’s second-biggest economy. The grim market reaction to a surprise rate cut shows investors want to see him take much bolder steps.

    The People’s Bank of China on Tuesday lowered the rate on its one-year loans — or medium-term lending facility — by 15 basis points to 2.5%, the steepest cut in three years. The move came shortly before the release of July data that showed weak consumer spending growth, sliding investment and rising unemployment.

    Zooming out, the economic picture looks even worse. Bank loans plunged to a 14-year low last month, while deflation is setting in and exports are contracting. One of China’s largest property developers is at risk of default and a financial conglomerate with 1 trillion yuan ($138 billion) under management missed payments on investment products, stoking fears about possible contagion.

    China’s Evergrande files for bankruptcy

    China’s Evergrande Group — once the country’s second-largest property developer — filed for bankruptcy in New York on Thursday.

    The beleaguered firm borrowed heavily and defaulted on its debt in 2021, sparking a massive property crisis in China’s economy, which continues to feel the effects.

    Evergrande filed for Chapter 15 bankruptcy protection, which allows a US bankruptcy court to step in when an insolvency case involves another country. Chapter 15 bankruptcy is intended to help promote cooperation between US courts, debtors, and other countries’ courts involved in cross-border bankruptcy proceedings.

    Evergrande did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.

    Phoenix, Arizona – An IRS agent was gunned down by one of his own Thursday evening during a training exercise according to ABC 15 News.

    ABC 15 News also revealed that the FBI is “investigating” the shooting which is being called an accident.

    Charlotte M. Dennis with the Phoenix Field Office of the IRS Criminal Investigation (CI) division told Arizona’s Family that it was aware of an “incident” involving one of its special agents.

    She said the agent was taken to HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center, where he later passed away.

    The FBI’s field office in Phoenix released an emailed statement vowing a “methodical” approach”:

    The FBI’s investigation will be methodical and thorough to address every element of the incident,” an emailed statement said. Those findings will then be turned over to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (District of Arizona) for review.

    The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) said the gun range was being utilized by multiple federal agencies at the time.

    While murderers are being given light sentences, the government is seeking life in prison for the former national chairman of the Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, for his “role in the Capitol riot, despite the fact that Tarrio was not even in Washington DC on January 6, 2021.

    What just happened in Maui is NOT normal. Something is very wrong with the Maui wildfire storyline. More on that in a moment. But first, let’s start with a disturbing pattern that bodes disaster for America.

    Biden and Democrats are destroying America and abandoning the American people.

    Three of the most disgraceful disasters in US history have occurred on Biden’s watch. One is possible. Two seem improbable. Three is a pattern.

    First, Biden abandoned Afghanistan in the worst cowardly retreat in American military history. He pulled out the military before the people- which led to disaster.13 soldiers were killed. Thousands of American citizens were left behind. Biden also abandoned our wonderful military dogs on the airport tarmac to die. Finally, Biden abandoned $85 billion in military equipment, paid for by taxpayers.

    Does any of this seem “normal” to you? What kind of American would do this to our military heroes, American citizens, and American military dogs?

    Then Biden abandoned East Palestine, Ohio after the worst train derailment and environmental disaster in US history. FEMA did nothing. Ohio’s citizens have been left behind to die from poisoned soil, water and air. I thought it was because they were white, rural, conservative Trump voters. Biden didn’t care about them. He treated them like dirt. He abandoned them just like Afghanistan.

    After what just happened in Maui, I believe Biden and Democrats leave EVERYONE behind in a disaster. Whether you’re white, black, Asian, Republican, or Democrat, it’s every man for himself. Government will abandon you when you need them most.

    Maui proves that. The people of Maui have now been abandoned too. Keep in mind Hawaiians vote almost 100% Democrat. Biden doesn’t care. He just sits on the beach in Delaware, mumbling to himself. He gives billions to Ukraine, and billions to illegal alien invaders, and now to the Brazilian rainforest too. But for suffering American citizens, he couldn’t care less. They’re lucky to get crumbs.

    Either nothing matters to heartless Biden, or he has a hatred for Americans.

    Now to the actual Maui story. Because what happened in Maui was NOT normal. Something is rotten in Maui.

    I know a thing or two about wildfires. I lived for 13 years in Malibu, California- the most fire-prone piece of earth in the world. I lived through many wildfires. Two of them almost burned my home to the ground. Hundreds of homes were lost each time. After I moved to Las Vegas, my old Malibu home was burned to the ground.

    Here is what I experienced each time there was a wildfire in Malibu. The Fire Department parked trucks on every block in the path of the fire to defend homes. Police and firemen went door to door to warn us to leave immediately. Police helicopters flew overhead with loudspeakers warning us to “leave now, or you will die.” Jumbo jets dropped fire retardant on the fire (and on homes). Helicopters scooped water from the ocean and dropped it on the fire. Police directed traffic and made sure everyone got away from the fire. Lastly, there were police boats to save citizens who jumped into the ocean.

    NONE OF THIS HAPPENED IN MAUI.

    Keep in mind Hawaii is run 100% by Democrats. The people were abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Government did nothing for them- before, during and after the fire.

    First, Maui has a warning siren system. The clueless disaster official never turned on the sirens. So, no one knew a massive fire was coming. That incompetent fool just resigned.

    Second, no police or fire went door to door. There were no helicopters with loudspeakers warning neighborhoods to evacuate. Not one victim has mentioned anyone warning them to get out.

    Third, the water didn’t work. A liberal, woke, environmentalist water official would not release water to Maui until it was too late. To him, water was more precious than the lives of human beings. Homeowners turned on their hoses and no water came out.

    Fourth, Police put up roadblocks that confused fleeing residents. Police herded them all onto one narrow street in Lahaina. It was a deathtrap. A long line of traffic backed up as a wall of fire approached. Those people, children and dogs burned to death in their cars.

    Fifth, some of the lucky ones abandoned their cars and jumped into the ocean. They treaded water for hours until help arrived. Why? Where was the US Navy? Where were police boats to rescue them?

    Since the worst wildfire in modern US history, the Biden administration has done virtually nothing for the people of Maui. Witnesses say no help has arrived. Where’s FEMA? Witnesses say at donation sites for victims there are no federal, state or county personnel. Just citizen volunteers.

    Just like Afghanistan and East Palestine, Biden and Democrat politicians and bureaucrats have abandoned the American people.

    This fire started out of nowhere and became the fastest in history. Perhaps liberal environmental terrorists started the fire to make the case for “climate change.” Perhaps Hawaii’s liberal government bureaucrats were too obsessed with environmental propaganda to clear the brush. Perhaps Democrat politicians were too obsessed with diversity, equity, social justice and critical race theory training to prepare for disaster.

    Heck a new book about the Maui fires was published on August 10th- in the middle of the fires. I’ve written 16 books. That’s not possible. Something smells rotten in Maui. The story is rancid.

    I know this: Democrat politicians and bureaucrats in Hawaii, Washington DC and in particular, the Biden administration, are either incompetent beyond anyone’s imagination; or heartless, indifferent bureaucrats; or they hate the American people.

    I believe it’s a perfect combination of all three.

    The emergency response unit for the District of Columbia has rejected a records request seeking details about its response to a cocaine discovery in the White House last month.

    The D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (EMS) announced on Friday that it was withholding 19 pages of documents sought under a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The request was submitted by Jason Leopold.

    Leopold requested the following:

    A copy of the request and/or radio call for a Hazmat team by US Secret Service to respond to a white powdery substance found at the White House.
    A copy of the final report of the Hazmat team’s testing of the white powder that was determined to be cocaine found at the West Wing of the White House.

    In a recent interview with Fox News host Neil Cavuto, former Attorney General Bill Barr opened up about the idea of home detention for former President Donald Trump, should he be convicted of criminal conspiracy or classified documents crimes.

    The Gateway Pundit previously reported Bill Barr trashed President Trump on Thursday during an interview with Fox News host Neil Cavuto.

    Barr said Trump’s conduct related to the classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago is “egregious.”

    “I think the federal cases are legitimate. At the end of the day, at the core of this thing, he engaged in the case of the documents and outrageous behavior where anyone would be prosecuted. I don’t know of any attorney general who could walk away from it,” Barr said.

    Barr continued, “He’s not being prosecuted for having the documents — He’s being prosecuted for obstruction to egregious instances are alleged.     “It wasn’t just rough and tumble politics. He crossed the line,” Barr told Neil Cavuto.

    When asked by Cavuto how the Secret Service would manage a prison sentence for Trump, Barr said, “Well, there’s ways of having custody without putting him in facilities, you know, in federal facilities. You can have home detention and other things.”

    Former President Donald Trump wasted no time in responding to Bill Barr’s remarks, unleashing a fiery rebuttal on Truth Social. Trump’s posts targeted both Barr and Fox News, reflecting his dissatisfaction with the former Attorney General’s comments and the network’s coverage.

    “Why does FoxNews constantly put on slow thinking and lethargic Bill Barr, who didn’t have the courage or stamina to fight the Radical Left lunatics while he was A.G., and who, even more importantly, refused to fight Election Fraud. He knew what was going on, just look at his past remarks! Unless FoxNews starts putting the RIGHT people on, their Ratings will never recover,” Trump wrote.

    In a follow-up post, Trump continued his criticism:

    Washington, D.C. — Today, U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) will introduce a resolution to censure and condemn United States District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan, the judge presiding over President Donald Trump’s case in Washington, D.C., for showing open bias and partisanship in her official duties on the bench.

    Tanya Chutkan was appointed as a district judge for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia by President Barack Obama after donating thousands of dollars to get him elected. During her time on the bench, Judge Chutkan has inappropriately expressed support for violent protests that occurred in the summer of 2020, all the while handing down multiple tough sentences to non-violent January 6th defendants. Additionally, during a sentencing hearing in October 2022, she inappropriately lamented that President Donald Trump “remains free to this day.”

    “It is deeply concerning that a United States District Court judge would exhibit such blatant political bias from the bench.   25. Texas Woman Arrested on Federal Charges for Allegedly Threatening to Kill Obama Judge Tanya Chutkan

    A Texas woman has been arrested for threatening to kill Obama-appointee judge, Tanya S. Chutkan, who will preside over former President Donald Trump’s bogus 2020 election interference case.

    The individual in question, Abigail Jo Shry, 43, of Alvin, Texas, allegedly left a voicemail threatening to kill Judge Chutkan on August 5th.

    According to a criminal complaint filed on Friday in the Southern District of Texas, she not only threatened Judge Chutkan but also Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), using offensive racial slurs.

    From the court document obtained by WUSA9:

    The following incident occurred during a phone call to United States District Judge Tanya Chutkan’s chambers in Washington, DC from Alvin, TX using phone number 832-537-2180. SHRY and left a threatening voicemail message intended for Judge Chutkan and mentioned United States Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, the LGBTQ community, and other democratic parties.

According to caller identification on the Judge’s phone, the call came from phone number (832) 537-2180. The caller’s introduction stated, “Hey you stupid slave ni–r,” after which the caller threatened to kill anyone
    who went after former President Trump, including a direct threat to kill Congresswomen Sheila Jackson Lee, all democrats in Washington D.C. and all people in the LGBTQ
