And why is this mentioned? Because the “everything bubble” is in the process of popping. Cheap money handed out forever (at least forever in historical interest rate terms) has created massive misallocation of capital, or bad investments on a grand scale. Why? Because people are greedy, opportunistic, foolish, impulsive–human.
The federal interest payment burden has now reached $1 trillion. Yet, Powell is still calling for at least two more rate hikes. Why? He says it is to fight inflation, yet inflation is the Fed’s only savior. Why? Because there is no other possibility to avoiding defaulting on this debt. It is too massive to pay off with real money, so the currency must be debased so that it can be paid off nominally, but with confetti. This is the bare skeleton of America’s debt trap. She must print more money to service more debt. The recent budget ceiling debacle, the one that gave a ceiling to time but not to spending, was approved because there wasn’t much choice. Outright default is out of the question. This is also called the death spiral. Put another way: a Ponzi scheme needs a steady flow of fresh capital in order to perpetuate.
The next U.S. President will enjoy even greater “interesting times”.

Yesterday while in the front office of a local high school I overheard a man talking to a woman. She was a secretary and he a janitor. He was going on about a movie he’d seen recently.
“It’s really something. I mean, it’s not like you see anything coming from Hollywood. It’s–what do you call it–it’s an indie film. You won’t see it advertised on tv or on the news I don’t think…it won’t be in the main stream media.”
The woman listened politely, but I don’t think he was able to express himself quite the way he wanted to.
What struck me was his last sentence, and how the unworthiness of the main stream media has gone mainstream when a school janitor is cognizant of such. And the fact that he was a janitor is a comment on nothing other than he was the perfect everyman. So we can hope.

A new report has revealed that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has decided on his next move to take on the political establishment and Fox News.
The Wall Street Journal revealed that Tucker has partnered up with Neil Patel, a former White House advisor, to launch a new media company. This endeavor will cost hundreds of millions of dollars which the pair is currently raising.
The Journal noted that this new company would run on subscriptions for longer versions of the free videos Carlson has been posting on Twitter since his unceremonious departure from Fox News.
People could still access the shorter videos for free on Twitter and other platforms.
The Hill reported that people familiar with Tucker’s new project recently met with Twitter to talk about the endeavor. The paper noted the media initiative would feature a website, a mobile app, and possibly air on other platforms beyond Twitter.
Forbes makes one important point: the Journal report does not give say when Carlson and Patel’s new media venture will start assuming it successfully gets off the ground. As previously reported, Carlson is reportedly still under contract with Fox News and any content he produces must be exclusive to Fox through December 31, 2024.
Launching a new media company to compete with Fox News could trigger a new wave of lawsuits. That said Tucker has vowed to strongly resist Fox News’ efforts to silence him.
The Gateway Pundit reported in May regarding Tucker’s desire for a massive media empire and signaled he was ready to go Def Con 1 on Fox News.
Tucker and Fox News previous agreed to separate in April after the parent company Fox Corp settled a $787.5 million lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems. Dominion in their lawsuit alleged that Fox News defamed them by airing “false election claims” regarding the company’s faulty voting machines.
Fox News decided to make their network’s most popular figure a sacrificial lamb. This is a move they have never recovered from.
But Tucker is getting the last laugh. He has hosted nine episodes to date on his new Twitter show and garnered 467.1 million total views. That is a bigger audience than he had with FOX News.
If Tucker successfully launches his media venture, the network will have a new host of headaches to deal with.

As ESPN reported, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced that trans women (biological men) will no longer be able to compete in the female category.
The UCI revealed that the trans women will be competing in a new category called men/open. This means they will actually be racing against their own peers while still being allowed to identify as trans. The new rules will go into effect on Monday according to ESPN
The UCI released this statement announcing the new changes:
At an extraordinary meeting held on 5 July, the Management Committee of the UCI decided to adapt the current UCI rules on the right of female transgender athletes to take part in competitions on the UCI International Calendar.
From now on, female transgender athletes who have transitioned after [male] puberty will be prohibited from participating in women’s events on the UCI International Calendar — in all categories — in the various disciplines.
ESPN notes that the UCI organization previously allowed biological men with reduced testosterone to take part in female events. It agreed to take another look at its rules after American Austin Killips became the first biological man to win a UCI women’s stage race this year.

Justice Department appealing prison sentences given to convicted Oath Keepers members

The Justice Department is appealing the sentences that eight convicted defendants tied to the Oath Keepers received for seditious conspiracy or other conspiracy charges related to their roles in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.
Federal prosecutors working on the cases of Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes and others filed court papers Wednesday saying they are appealing the sentences set by a judge in late May. Some of the Oath Keepers who were sentenced had already filed their own appeals.
A ninth man tried in the case, Thomas Caldwell, hasn’t been sentenced yet and subsequently is not part of the group being appealed.
The appeals will keep alive tests in court of aspects of the case against the Oath Keepers, potentially generating new law around the seditious conspiracy offenses – a rare charge that marked the most aggressive and politically charged response to the Capitol riot to date from the Justice Department.

Solar farms out at sea are clean energy’s next breakthrough
JINAN, Shandong – Buffeted by waves as high as 10m in China’s Yellow Sea about 30km off the coast of Shandong province, two circular rafts carrying neat rows of solar panels began generating electricity in late 2022, a crucial step towards a new breakthrough for clean energy.
The experiment by State Power Investment, China’s biggest renewable power developer, and Norway-based developer Ocean Sun is one of the most high-profile tests yet of offshore solar technology. It is a potential advance in the sector that will enable locations out at sea to host renewables, and help land-constrained regions accelerate a transition away from fossil fuels.
Most initial trials of solar-at-sea have involved small-scale systems, and there are numerous challenges still to overcome – including higher costs and the impacts of corrosive salts or destructive winds. Yet developers are increasingly confident that offshore solar can become a significant new segment in renewable energy.
The application of this “is virtually unlimited” because many regions have constraints on the use of land, including parts of Europe, Africa and Asia, along with locations like Singapore and Hong Kong, said Ocean Sun chief executive officer Borge Bjorneklett. “In these places… there’s a huge interest for this technology.”
Shandong, the industrial hub south of Beijing, plans to add more than 11 gigawatts of solar offshore power by 2025, and to ultimately build 42 gigawatts, more than the current power generation capacity of Norway. Neighbouring Jiangsu has a target to add 12.7 gigawatts, while provinces like Fujian and Tianjin are also studying proposals. Japan, the Netherlands and Malaysia are among other nations conducting or preparing test projects.
Even with investments in solar forecast to surpass spending on oil production for the first time in 2023, many regions face challenges in finding land to install vast arrays of panels, either because of a lack of available space, as a result of inhospitable terrain, or because to do so would require deforestation.

Chief White House Correspondent for Today News Africa, Simon Ateba, has consistently pushed back against the Biden Administration in the Press Room and the White House continues to threaten him to fall in line or else.
Ateba shared the most recent attempt to silence him, a letter accusing him of “disruptive” behavior in the White House press room. Further, the letter threatens, if he continues to do what reporters are supposed to do, ask tough questions, “then your hard pass may be suspended or revoked, following notice and an opportunity to respond.”

Canada’s Vaccine Approver Says She Was Not Pressured on Covid-19
The official who had the final authority to approve new vaccines in Canada says at no time was she pressured to authorize the Covid-19 shots, even though the Prime Minister had said vaccination was the only way to get back to normal.
“No one ever told me that the Prime Minister wants this to be done”, said Dr. Celia Lourenco, now acting associate assistant deputy minister with Canada Health and previously doctorate in the department.
Dr. Lourenco was being cross-examined on July 13 as part of the first grievance against the Federal vaccine mandate being adjudicated by the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board.
The case involves Slim Rehibi, who worked for Employment and Social Development Canada and was placed on leave without pay for seven months for not complying with the mandatory vaccination policy. He was also denied employment insurance benefits.
The Liberal government imposed a Covid-19 vaccination mandate on the public service and federally-regulated sectors from October 2021 to June 2022.
Bernard Desgagne, who is a public servant and not a lawyer, is representing Mr. Rehibi and another griever. He broached a wide range of issues with Dr. Lourenco, including whether politics played a role in the approval of Covid-19 vaccines.
He asked Dr. Laurenco if she or someone else had advised the governor early during the Covid-19 crisis on what kind of treatment or drug would be best to save lives and return to normalcy.
Dr. Lourenco said her department was previewing literature and clinical trials at the time, but there was nothing leading them to recommend a particular treatment or vaccine.
Mr. Desgagne asked why in that case Prime Minister JustinTrudeau declared in April 2020 that “Normality as it was before will not come back full-on until we get a vaccine for this”, as reported by Global News.
He remarked it seems the Canadian Government had decided at the beginning of the pandemic that the solution to return to normal would be to vaccinate a large part of the population with a product that did not yet exist.
Dr. Lourenco said that it was not unreasonable for Mr. Trudeau to make that declaration given that vaccines are used to manage infectious diseases and that he could have received that advice from scientists.
After the vaccine rollout, Mr. Trudeau initially said vaccination was a personal choice, but he later made vaccination mandates an electoral issue in 2021.
Dr. Laurenco said her team was not concerned about political objectives or “noise” surrounding the issue of vaccination and that it was just focusing or reviewing the data that was submitted by the pharmaceutical companies.
The main objective was to ensure the “safety, efficacy and quality” of the injections before they were authorized, she said.
Of course, we hope…..that the product will demonstrate safety and acceptable quality”, said Dr. Lourenco, “but we have to go through the process to review all of the data to make sure that all of those checks and balances are met”.
The Covid-19 vaccines were authorized under an interim order giving way to a rare pathway for bringing a drug to market. The data has been received on a rolling basis from pharmaceutical companies and brought to the public without long-term safety data.
Dr. Lourenco was also cross-examined in June last year in the context of the challenge to the Federal Government’s travel vaccine mandate.
She said if the Covid-19 injections has shown their current level of effectiveness against infection of below 50 percent, they would’ve never been approved for market, but their authorization has been kept for their prevention of severe outcomes.
Several legal actions against the Federal Government have been filed in relation to the vaccine mandates.
Grievances have also been filed in the Canadian Armed Forces, with a military administrative tribunal recently ruling that some of its vaccination policy provisions were unconstitutional and infringed upon charter rights.

Tucker Carlson hosted the first presidential forum for the Republican primary in Iowa on Friday with Blaze Media.
Tucker interviewed five candidates including Tim Scott, Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Mike Pence.
Mike Pence said voter ID should be a requirement in every state.
“We ought to have voter ID in every state in America,” Pence said. “But with regard to voting machines, we had them in Indiana.. but they produce paper ballots. Recounts were taken in states…I think it’s important that we do everything in our power to restore public confidence in the one person, one vote principle.”
