This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    I think even the media gets it now when they associate both words as an expression.

    The FBI suddenly dropped FOUR investigations into Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation ahead of the 2016 election, according to the Durham report.

    Special Counsel John Durham on Monday released his final report concluding the FBI had no verified intel when it opened the Crossfire Hurricane investigation into Trump in 2016.

    Durham blasted Hillary Clinton for her “plan to stir up a scandal against US Presidential candidate Donald Trump by tying him to Putin and the Russians’ hacking of the Democratic National Committee.”

    The FBI dropped four investigations into Hillary and Bill Clinton ahead of the 2016 while the Bureau and the entire might of the US government was bearing down on Trump.

    The FBI was investigating claims the Clinton Foundation was a hub of “criminal activity,” according to a review by The New York Post.

    It turns out the FBI investigations into the Clintons were all for show.

    According to Durham, the FBI never got wiretapping warrants for their “well-placed” informant who penetrated the Clintons’ inner circle.

    The FBI eventually told the informant to walk away from the Clintons and cut ties.

    Meanwhile, the feds were busy wiretapping Donald Trump and illegally spying on his campaign.

    Of course the Clinton Foundation denied any wrongdoing.

    “None of the Clintons have ever taken any money from the Clinton Foundation — in fact, the Clintons themselves are major donors to the Clinton Foundation,” a Clinton Foundation spokesperson said in a statement to the Daily Mail.

    All four investigations were dropped by FBI officials with ties to the Clintons.

    The New York Post reported on the four investigations:

    The Little Rock and New York offices were investigating a claim that an outside commercial industry “likely engaged a federal public official in a flow of benefits scheme, namely, large monetary contributions were made to a non-profit, under both direct and indirect control of the federal public official, in exchange for favorable government action and/or influence,” according to the Durham report.

    The DC investigation was based on allegations that the Clintons accepted millions in donations from foreign governments — as well as massive Russian corporations — in an attempt to influence US foreign policy dating back to Hillary’s days as Secretary of State, as outlined by political consultant Peter Schweizer in his book “Clinton Cash.”

    The fourth investigation looked into allegations made by a “well-placed” source that Hillary continued accepting those illegal donations throughout her presidential campaign.

    “Beginning in late 2014, before Clinton formally declared her presidential candidacy, the FBI learned from a well-placed [source] that a foreign government was planning to send an individual to contribute to Clinton’s anticipated presidential campaign, as a way to gain influence with Clinton should she win the presidency,” the report said.

    The foreign “individual” reportedly made a $2,700 contribution ahead of a campaign event, which led to another “contribution of a significant sum of money.”

    All four probes were dropped ahead of the 2016 election — several of which at the direction of senior FBI officials who had close ties to the Clintons.

    Up is not down, black is not white, and men are not women. A beer that tastes like swill giving tacit approval to the perversion of God’s natural order of creation was the final straw for many.

    People were justifiably furious at Bud Light, and the subsequent boycotts have tanked sales, shaken up company leadership, and generally damaged the brand. Culturally, it was an unmitigated disaster the likes of which the retail world has seldom seen.

    Now? There may be a grievous legal injury added to insult after Sens. Ted Cruz and Marsha Blackburn, a pair of fiery Republicans, formally opened an investigation into the Belgian brewing titan.

    In a joint news release on Wednesday, it was announced that Cruz and Blackburn would be calling on “the beer industry’s self-regulatory body — the Beer Institute — to investigate whether Anhueser-Busch’s partnership with influencer Dylan Mulvaney violates the Beer Institute’s guidelines prohibiting marketing to underage individuals.”

  7. OUTRAGE: North Dakota Man Who Ran Down and Killed 18 Year-Old for Being a Republican Gets Reduced Charge of Manslaughter

    Back in September of 2022, a man named Shannon Brandt ran down and killed an 18 year-old in North Dakota for being a Republican, then claiming that he believed the victim Cayler Eliingson was an extremist.

    Police found no evidence for Brandt’s claims.

    Brandt’s charges were recently reduced to manslaughter.

    Reduced charge for man who ran over North Dakota teen

    A man accused of intentionally running over an 18-year-old at a street dance in North Dakota had his charges reduced from murder to manslaughter, according to court documents filed Monday…

    Brandt was first charged with criminal vehicular homicide but the charge was later upgraded to felony murder. He has also been charged with leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in death.

    Foster County State Attorney Kara Brinster was not available Monday afternoon to discuss why the charge was reduced to manslaughter.

    The McHenry, North Dakota man accused of running down a teen after a street dance last summer pleads guilty to manslaughter.

    A charge of leaving the scene of an accident was dismissed.

    42-year-old Shannon Brandt avoids going to trial which was supposed to start on May 30.

    He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced at a later date.

    Earlier this month, the prosecutor in the case dropped the charge from murder to manslaughter.

    This is not justice.

    This is an outrage, and Republicans should be outraged.

  8. WaPo-Israel pivots to say Elon Musk attacks on George Soros now not antisemitic

    TEL AVIV — An Israeli minister officially tasked with fighting antisemitism defended Twitter CEO Elon Musk, saying that Israel did not view the tech mogul’s recent comparison of Jewish financier George Soros to a comic book supervillain as antisemitic.

    The minister’s tweet came just days after Israel’s Foreign Ministry said that antisemitic conspiracy theories and the phrase “The Jews” trended on Twitter after Musk’s comment, which they said “reeked of antisemitism.”

    Late on Thursday, Israel’s minister of diaspora affairs, Amichai Chikli, tweeted nearly the exact opposite. “As Israel’s minister who’s entrusted on combating anti-Semitism, I would like to clarify that the Israeli government and the vast majority of Israeli citizens see Elon Musk as an amazing entrepreneur and a role model.

    “Criticism of Soros — who finances the most hostile organizations to the Jewish people and the state of Israel is anything but anti-Semitism, quite the opposite!” he added.

    The contrast highlights Israel’s split view of Soros, with some saying that his critics employ classic antisemitic tropes to delegitimize him, and conservatives who say his liberal politics cause damage to Israel and to the Jewish people.

    On Monday, Musk sparked a Twitter storm after accusing Soros — the Hungarian-born Holocaust survivor, liberal billionaire philanthropist and longtime focal point of antisemitic conspiracy theories — of hating humanity and seeking “to erode the very fabric of civilization.”

    “Soros reminds me of Magneto,” Musk tweeted late Monday, likening the financier to an evil Marvel comic book character who is portrayed as a Holocaust survivor seeking to replace humans with mutants as the world’s dominant race. The character is based, according to its creator, on former Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin.

    Musk’s comments came three days after Soros’s investment fund reported having sold all its stock in Tesla, Musk’s electric car company.

    It also coincides with growing outrage over what critics say is Musk’s gross mismanagement of the social media platform that has enabled the proliferation of antisemitism and other forms of hate speech. Since Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion last October, antisemitic tweets have at least doubled and accounts created to disseminate vitriolic content have risen threefold, according to an analysis by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), a nonpartisan think tank, and CASM Technology, a start-up that researches disinformation and hate speech online.

    Online vitriol against Soros has risen alongside Israel’s far-right in recent years. Many say Soros’s support for J Street, the moderate pro-peace lobbying group; B’Tselem, the human rights group; and other liberal groups in Israel and the Palestinian territories aims to delegitimize Israel. Many right-wing Israelis also accuse Soros of antisemitism.

    Netanyahu has for years drawn criticism for his strategy of politicizing the Holocaust and has been accused of turning a blind eye to antisemitic incidents when they are endorsed or propagated by political allies abroad, especially in increasingly illiberal democracies like Hungary and Poland.

    In 2017, in what was viewed as an attempt by Netanyahu to curry favor with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Israel’s Foreign Ministry backed an Orban billboard campaign blaming Soros for Europe’s immigration crisis.

    Once again, there were split messages from Israel, with its ambassador to Hungary initially criticizing the campaign because it “evokes sad memories but also sows hatred and fear,” referencing the complicity of Hungarian nationals in the deportation of 500,000 Hungarian Jews during the Holocaust. Hours later, the Foreign Ministry said that Soros “continuously undermines Israel’s democratically elected governments.”

    Days later, Yair Netanyahu, the prime minister’s son, posted a doctored meme showing Soros dangling a globe in front of a reptilian creature. The meme was shared widely on antisemitic conspiracy theory news sites and social media groups. It was retweeted by former Ku Klux Klan leader and Holocaust denier David Duke.

    The neo-Nazi Daily Stormer website also congratulated the meme, calling Yair “a total bro.”

    Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called out the Italian government’s stance on LGBTQ rights during a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Hiroshima, Japan.

    “Obviously, Canada is concerned about some of the (positions) that Italy is taking in terms of LGBT rights,” Trudeau told Meloni at the start of the meeting.

    “But I look forward to talking with you about that.”

    The comments were made at the start of the meeting, prior to media being ushered out of the room.

    In March, gay rights activists denounced as homophobic moves by Meloni’s far-right-led government to limit recognition of parental rights to the biological parent only in families with same-sex parents.

    In a move that would impact hundreds of families, the government told the city of Milan to stop automatically recording both parents in same-sex couples on city registers.

    It was the last major city to continue the practice that had been briefly adopted in Rome, Turin, Naples and elsewhere after Italy’s high court in 2016 made it easier for gay people to adopt a partner’s biological child.

    In a readout of the meeting sent out by the Prime Minister’s Office, it says the leaders “exchanged views on the importance of protecting and defending human rights, including the rights of 2SLGBTQI+ people.”

    “Prime Minister Meloni responded that her government is following court decisions and is not deviating from previous administrations,” the summary said.

    Trudeau met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida earlier in the morning, where both leaders discussed increasing co-operation between G7 countries to further peace and economic prosperity.

    The G7 Leaders’ Summit is taking place between Friday and Sunday.

    The summit is expected to focus on geopolitical and economic threats from Russia and China.

    scantily dressed woman took off with more than $600,000 in jewelry — including two Rolex watches — after she allegedly drugged a Miami man she had just met, police said.

    After meeting the man at The Dirty Rabbit bar in Wynwood on May 8, the unidentified woman was invited back to his pad around 5:30 a.m., where she drugged his drink, police said.

    The suspect’s unidentified date quickly passed out after having one drink with the suspect, who authorities believe is in her mid-30s.

    The man called police after he woke up around noon and found his safe open and his jewelry gone — as was the woman.

    Among the pricey items she swiped were a Rolex Daytona Rainbow with diamonds and a Sky-Dweller Rolex.

  12. CNN – Accounting error frees $3 billion for Ukraine weapons assistance

    The Biden administration made an accounting error in assessing the value of the military support that the US has given to Ukraine to date, freeing up approximately $3 billion more in aid, an amount likely to mitigate the need for Congress to pass an additional assistance package before the end of the fiscal year in September, multiple congressional and administration officials told CNN.

    The error – which lawmakers and congressional staffers were briefed on Thursday – triggered frustration from Republicans on the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services committees. They believe the mistake reduced the amount of US support that went to Ukraine leading up to the counteroffensive.

    “The revelation of a three-billion-dollar accounting error discovered two months ago and only today shared with Congress is extremely problematic, to say the least. These funds could have been used for extra supplies and weapons for the upcoming counteroffensive, instead of rationing funds to last for the remainder of the fiscal year,” wrote House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul and House Armed Services Chairman Mike Rogers in a statement Thursday.

    Before this new information came to light the Pentagon had said that there was just over $2.3 billion remaining available for Presidential Drawdown Authority for Ukraine. Now, due to this revelation, there is about $5.3 billion still available, far more than even the largest single package provided to Ukraine.

    The briefing to the Hill comes after the White House told CNN that it is not currently planning to ask Congress for new Ukraine funding before the end of the fiscal year at the end of September, which pit administration officials against some lawmakers and congressional staffers who are concerned that the funds could run out by mid-summer.

    But now that there is more funding available, congressional sources said they are less concerned about the immediate need for a new funding package for Ukraine. They believe it is likely that the newfound funding will carry the US support to Ukraine through the end of the summer.

    The accounting error occurred because when the US transferred weaponry to Ukraine, they counted the value of replacing the weapon instead of the value of actual weapon, defense officials explained. That drove up the cost of each package – because new weaponry costs more than old weaponry – and resulted in the false assumption that more of the funding had been used.

    McCaul and Rogers said that the administration should “make up for this precious lost time by using these funds to provide Ukraine the DPICMS and ATACMS they need to fuel the counteroffensive and win the war.”

    The US has resisted providing Ukraine with Army Tactical Missile Systems – which can reach targets over 185 miles away – both because the missiles are in limited supply and because the US is worried Russia would see them as too provocative. The US has also resisted sending cluster munitions to Ukraine – known as dual-purpose improved conventional munitions or DPICMs – because many countries are ardently opposed to it and the US believes there are too many downsides to the use of cluster munitions due to the high risk they pose to civilians.

    university researcher who met staffers for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) said he felt threatened after he balked at helping them investigate claims of former President Donald Trump’s ties to Russia, according to Special Counsel John Durham’s report.

    The report, released on Monday, reveals that two researchers met with the staffers on Capitol Hill in November of 2018 in a secure conference room belonging to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

    Governors general billed over $88,000 in clothing to taxpayers since 2017: documents

    A governor general is allowed to expense up to $130,000 in clothing purchases over the five-year mandate, with a $60,000 limit in the first year

    OTTAWA — Governors General Julie Payette and Mary Simon expensed over $88,000 in clothing that they got to keep, with taxpayers footing the bill for a range of items from ceremonial clothing to a $450 “ecru hat” and $20 T-shirts.

    Since 2017, Payette and her successor, Simon, have expensed nearly 200 clothing items with price tags ranging from $3,000 for a “black velvet dress with silk lining” purchased by Payette in 2018 to $18.95 white gloves by Simon for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration events in London in 2022.

    While some of the items were worn for specific ceremonies connected to the Governor General’s role, many others appear to be clothing for personal or day-to-day business use.

    For example, Payette expensed several T-shirts, shoes, sweaters, a $680 “top,” and dress pants ranging from $323 to $590 within months of her appointment in 2017. In November 2019, she expensed $1,064.71 in boots, and in 2020 she billed taxpayers for seven custom-made items such as $2,470 suits and a $1,800 “special order vest.”

    In a statement, Payette’s spokeswoman, Lise Boyer, noted that she only spent roughly $50,000 of her total clothing allowance over four years. (She quit the role in January 2021 after a review concluded she created a “toxic workplace.”)

    Boyer also insisted that “all clothes were related to Madame Payette’s function, duties and foreign states visits. She was also a very active GG who promoted health and physical activity everywhere in Canada, all the way to the North West Passage.”

    Simon also expensed dozens of items within weeks of her appointment in July 2021, such as pants, dresses, shoes, jackets and a $160 scarf. Since then, she also expensed a number of dress shoes (up to $429.99), dress pants, dresses and suit jackets.

    The list of all clothing expensed by either governor general since 2017 is contained in a document tabled in Parliament this week following questions by Conservative MP Kelly McCauley.

    In an interview, McCauley called many of the expenses “obscene.”

    “I fully accept there are some ceremonial things have to be done and I know GG Simons is buying Inuit-made items and I’m fully on board with that. But $140 for flat shoes, $200 for boots, and T-shirts? I’m sorry, but the average Canadians pay for their own boots when they go to work,” McCauley said.

    The documents obtained by McCauley note that the prime minister and most of his cabinet have not expensed any clothing to taxpayers since 2017, but for two exceptions: former justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould expensed lawyers’ robes in 2017 and Minister of Sport Pascale St-Onge expensed steel-toed boots earlier this year.

    “The prime minister doesn’t get a penny for clothing allowance,” McCauley said. “MPs pay for their own tuxedos, as do everyday Canadians. I would expect any business-style clothing, shoes, T-shirts, anything they should pay with their own very, very, very well compensated salary.”

    The governor general’s annual salary is $342,100.

    Office of the Secretary to the Governor General (OSGG) spokesperson Lynne Santerre said in a statement said that a governor general is allowed to expense up to $130,000 in clothing purchases over the five-year mandate, with a $60,000 limit in the first year that gradually drops to $10,000 in the last year.

    The allowance used to be $200,000 per mandate until it was lowered in 2021 after a review by the OSGG.

    That clothing allowance largely surpasses what is allowed in many of Canada’s vice-regal offices.

    For example, since 2009, Nova Scotia’s lieutenant governor is only allowed to expense a maximum of $2,000 for clothing annually, or $10,000 over the five-year mandate. Furthermore, Nova Scotia’s lieutenant governor must pay for half of the clothing bill because they get to keep it.

    Santerre said the allowance exists because governors general are required to adhere to specific clothing protocols when “performing their unique state, ceremonial and public duties.”

    “Such items include formal wear, uniforms, outerwear for specific climate conditions and extremes, and garments that respect a variety of cultural/religious conventions and dress code requirements,” she added in an email.

    She also confirmed that they keep the taxpayer-funded items after they leave the job, though Simon, Canada’s first Indigenous governor general, is currently looking for a way to make “key pieces” worn during major events, such as the Papal visit in 2022 and the King’s coronation, available to the public.

    “Mary Simon has chosen to use her mandate to feature the work of Indigenous designers from across the country, an action of reconciliation that promotes learning and understanding of Indigenous culture, traditions and craftsmanship,” Santerre said.

    Carleton University associate professor Philippe Lagassé said it’s expected that a governor general’s clothing meant for the role’s ceremonial functions be expensed, but that other items on the list merit more scrutiny.

    “Clothing that’s specific to the ceremonial functions of the office should be seen as a legitimate expense. I see that a number of Simon’s expenses seem to touch on that,” the expert on the role of the monarchy in Canada said in an email.

    “There may be other clothing expenses that aren’t all that obvious, particularly if they’re largely for personal use and aren’t tied to specific functions, ceremonies, or trips. We’d need to know more details about the items” to better assess if they should be expensed or not, he added.

    Quebec Muslim groups are taking the provincial government to court over its recently enacted prayer room ban in public schools, arguing that the order is discriminatory and violates the Charter rights to freedom of religion and association.

    Five Muslim organizations filed their case this week in Quebec Superior Court, seeking a judicial review of the ban and to have it declared unconstitutional. The groups are also seeking a judgment on how secularism and the notion of religious neutrality is interpreted by the government.

    “The plaintiffs request that a declaratory judgment concerning the interpretation to be given to the principles of laicity and religious neutrality of the state be rendered so that these principles cannot be used to order prohibitions of prayers or other religious practices in public places,” the filing reads.

    Education Minister Bernard Drainville ordered the ban April 19 after reports of at least two Montreal-area schools permitting students to gather on school property for prayer. The court filing notes that all of the cases reported in the media in March and April involved Muslim youth.

    Drainville has said the concept of prayer rooms runs counter to Quebec’s policy of official secularism. His directive states that school space cannot be used ‘in fact and in appearance, for the purposes of religious practices such as open prayers or other similar practices.”

    The rule applies to elementary and high schools as well as vocational schools and adult education centres that fall under the public system. It does not extend to private schools or Indigenous school boards.

    Drainville has said that he can’t ban prayer altogether and that students who want to pray should do so discreetly and silently.

    The Muslim groups noted that their faith requires members to pray five times a day, including during school hours.

    “Since it is a complete ban on all forms of prayer and since prayer is an essential component of Muslim religious practice, this ban discriminates against one group of individuals to the detriment of other groups,” the filing reads.

    The lawsuit argues that Quebec’s official secularism law — Bill 21 — applies to the state, not to the citizens it serves. Other than affirming the “laicity of the state,” the law prohibits many public servants, including teachers, from wearing religious symbols on the job.

    “State secularism aims to ensure that the state is not religious,” the Muslim groups say in their court filing. “The resulting obligation of state religious neutrality should not be interpreted in such a way as to favour one religion rather than another or to target, directly or indirectly, one religion rather than another.”

    The plaintiffs say the decision to go before the courts was a last resort and came after extensive consultation, adding that the Education Department was warned about their lawsuit on Monday.

    One of the organizations, The Canadian Muslim Forum, said in a statement earlier this week that the Muslim community isn’t seeking preferential treatment but opposes being “continuously targeted under different pretext and excuses.”

    The Education Department declined to comment on the lawsuit.

    When asked about the lawsuit, Premier François Legault told reporters Thursday in Quebec’s Beauce region, “We clearly think that schools are not the right place for prayer.”

    Barring a settlement, the case is expected to be presented before a judge on June 2.

    A Democrat senator introduced legislation that would create a federal agency that would censor Americans’ speech for “misinformation” and “hate speech” reasons. Think of this as a federal ministry of truth.

    The bill, brought forth by Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO), is titled the Digital Platform Commission Act (DPCA). He claims his proposed legislation would “create an expert federal body empowered to provide comprehensive, sector-specific regulation of digital platforms to protect consumers, promote competition, and defend the public interest.”

    He elaborated:

    The new Federal Digital Platform Commission would have the mandate, jurisdiction, and broad set of tools to develop and enforce thoughtful guardrails for a sector that has been left for too long to write its own rules, with serious consequences for everything from teen mental health to disinformation to anti-competitve practices that have hurt small businesses.

    It’s past time for a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to regulating digital platforms that have amassed extraordinary power over our economy, society, and democracy. We should follow the long precedent in American history of empowering an expert body to protect the public interest through common sense rules and oversight for complex and powerful sectors of the economy.

    The Commission would have the authority to promulgate rules, impose civil penalties, hold hearings, conduct investigations, and support research. It could also designate ‘systemically important digital platforms’ subject to additional oversight, regulation, and merger review.”

    The legislation says that new body, known as the Federal Digital Platform Commission, would have five commissioners appointed by the president and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. It would be “staffed by experts with a background in areas such as computer science, software development, and technology policy.”

    Translation: if we catch you spreading questioning vaccine safety or fraudulent elections, we will hit you with fines or worse.

    A Twitter account called Reclaim the Net astutely notes, the commission would be establishing behavioral codes and include radical “disinformation” experts.

    Conservative attorney Harriet Dhillion sums the bill up succinctly:

    This is unconstitutional, also evil and stupid.

    Conservative activist Laura Loomer called the bill for what it is: a ministry of truth bill straight out of 1984.

    WASHINGTON: The US Department of State said on Thursday (May 18) it wants to update internal processes for the tens of billions worth of foreign military sales it oversees each year to speed up approvals “for an age of heightened strategic competition”.

    The move comes as the war in Ukraine has shown the process of getting weapons in the hands of American allies is too slow, to counter potential threats from Russia and China.

    “The time has come to reassess and adapt security cooperation to meet new and emerging challenges” the State Department said in a fact sheet, adding that competition with China and Russia’s war in Ukraine were factors that led to the 10-point plan to re-tool the department’s oversight of foreign military sales.

    The plan, which followed an internal review at the State Department, involves “anticipatory policy decisions” for allies’ potential future purchases to begin the decision process earlier for allies’ requests.

    The industry has long hoped that the State Department would anticipate an ally’s request for a weapons system, rather than begin its review only after the formal request for a weapons system was made.

    Other items in the plan included more training for the military attaches stationed at embassies that are the front line of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process.

    Foreign military sales arranged through the US government rose 49.1 per cent to US$51.9 billion in 2022 from US$34.8 billion the prior year.

    The Pentagon conducted a parallel review of its own FMS implementation mechanisms, the State Department said.

    There are two major ways foreign governments buy arms from US companies: Direct commercial sales negotiated between a government and a company, and foreign military sales in which a foreign government typically contacts a Defense Department official at the US embassy in its capital. Both require US government approval.

    Canada’s National Post and Canadian Press reported on Friday that a Montreal charity suspected of potentially hosting an illegal Chinese police station received up to $200,000 in Canadian taxpayer funding.

    The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed in March that it had opened an investigation into the offices of two organizations in Quebec suspected of hosting an illegal Chinese government police station on their premises: the Sino-Québec Center and the Service à la Famille Chinoise du Grand Montréal (SFCGM), or Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal.

    Thursday’s report reveals that SFCGM financial records appear to show the group received about $200,000 from the federal Canadian government since 2020.

    “Specifically, the charity reported receiving $178,450 from the federal government in 2020-2021 and $21,728 in 2021-2022,” the National Post detailed. “A federal government grants and contributions database lists a [sic] five contributions from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) to SFCGM going back as far as 2018.” The Post noted that the same database showed “the SFCGM received funding via the government’s Canada Summer Jobs program every year since 2018 (except in 2019) worth $14,822 to $22,989.”

    The bombshell report follows weeks of escalation in tensions between communist China and the far-left administration of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has expressed “admiration” for the genocidal regime but is facing tremendous public pressure to contain Beijing’s interference in Canadian politics.

    Ottawa expelled Chinese diplomat Zhao Wei last week after evidence surfaced that Zhao had organized an effort to identify and threaten the Hong Kong relatives of Member of Parliament Michael Chong, a vocal opponent of the Communist Party and advocate against the Chinese government’s genocide of Uyghurs and other Turkic ethnic groups in occupied East Turkistan.

    Chong condemned the Trudeau government last week for not doing enough to protect him or others potentially targeted by a nefarious foreign operation:

    The government did nothing about a person in Canada that was targeting me and my family and targeting other members of parliament. The government knew about this two years ago and did nothing. In fact, they continued to accredit this individual as a diplomat, giving this individual special rights and immunities not afforded to Canadians, allowing this individual to continue the correction and intimidation campaign.

    Prior to the Zhao Wei incident, the human rights organization Safeguard Defenders published a report last year detailing the rapid growth of illegal Chinese police stations across the planet, including multiple sites identified as police stations in Canada. The Safeguard Defenders report listed Canada alongside the United States, Spain, Japan, Ireland, and a host of other nations where the Communist Party had dispatched unauthorized law enforcement operations used for “transnational repression”: to spy on, intimidate, and forcibly repatriate anti-communist dissidents.

    The Communist Party openly admits to having established the bases but claims they are “service stations” used for benign activities such as renewing driver’s licenses.

    The Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal (SFCGM) bills itself as a charity group that helps recently arrived Chinese immigrants settle in Canada. It was founded in 1976 and lists among its services French and English language courses, “senior services,” and help finding jobs.

    In March, following an announcement by Canadian law enforcement that it would investigate two organizations in Montreal for hosting illegal Chinese police stations, the Toronto Star published a report revealing links between the administrator of the SFCGM, Li Xixi, and China’s United Front Work Department, a sprawling umbrella organization used to ensure that all Chinese government, civil society, and economic organizations dutifully parrot Communist Party propaganda.

    “A 2016 news story on the China News Service platform, ‘Overseas Chinese website,’ includes a photo of Li receiving a plaque for the Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal designating it an Overseas Chinese Service Centre,” the Star report narrated. “The woman in the photo giving Li the plaque is Qiu Yuanping, then the director OCAO [Overseas Chinese Affairs Office], according to the article.”

    “OCAO became part of mainland China’s United Front Work Department, a department tasked with forwarding the agenda of the Communist Party of China, in 2018,” the Star concluded.

    The National Post reported on Thursday that the SFCGM vehemently denied any ties to the Communist Party in March, accusing Canadian law enforcement of “causing serious and potentially irreparable harm to the [Chinese-Canadian] community” by investigating it. The organization reportedly did not respond to requests for comment from the Post.

    The Chinese Foreign Ministry addressed growing concerns of illicit Chinese police activity in Canada on Monday, insisting, “there is [sic] no so-called overseas police stations.”

    Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told reporters:

    The relevant institutions helped overseas Chinese who could not return to China due to the pandemic renew their driving licence and perform physical examination. They are not so-called police stations or police service centers at all. The local Chinese groups who helped provide venues for the services and the volunteers are Chinese from the local communities who are willing to help their compatriots, not Chinese police personnel.

    Wang also claimed the “service centers” had been closed as China had lifted its most repressive coronavirus measures.

    Ford executives are getting roasted on social media and the company is getting compared to Bud Light after running the “Very Gay Raptor” at a major motorsports event in Goodwood, England back in June 2022.

    “Ford will continue demonstrating its allyship with the LGBTQ+ community at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, bringing ‘Very Gay Raptor’ and the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor along for the ride,” Ford said in a news release last June.

    The “Very Gay Raptor” truck is a rainbow-flagged twin-turbo performance truck which cost over $56,000. This is not exactly a truck people can easily afford.

    Other conservatives posted recent promotional videos and photos of the “Very Gay Raptor.”

    The “Very Gay Raptor” was created by Ford back in 2021. The company says they did so in response to a negative comment on social media.

    Time will tell whether Ford doubles down and ignores the bubbling controversy in hopes conservatives will forget and move on. This is the approach Miller Lite took after their own woke ad resurfaced on the internet.

    Should Ford embark on this approach, they risk receiving the full Bud Light treatment and seeing their sales plummet. Pandering to the woke mob is certainly not proving profitable these days.

    California authorities have launched four separate investigations following the disappearance of a 30-ton shipment of explosive chemicals last month, KQED reported.

    On April 12, a railcar loaded with 60,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate, a chemical used as both fertilizer and explosives, departed from Dyno Nobel manufacturing plant near Cheyenne, Wyoming en route to Saltdale, California.

    The chemical was reported missing from the shipment two weeks later, and no one knows what really happened.

    On May 10, the company Dyno Nobel notified the federal government’s National Response Center, also known as the NRC. Last Wednesday, the complaint was also included in an NRC database of California incidents maintained by the state Office of Emergency Services.

    This incident has raised serious concerns regarding public safety and security. The missing chemicals could potentially pose a significant threat if they fall into the wrong hands.

    California officials have launched four separate investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the chemicals.

    KQED reported:

    Dyno Nobel says it believes the material — transported in pellet form in a covered hopper car similar to those used to ship coal — fell from the car on the way to a rail siding (a short track connecting with the main track) called Saltdale about 30 miles from the town of Mojave in eastern Kern County.

    “The railcar was sealed when it left the Cheyenne facility, and the seals were still intact when it arrived in Saltdale. The initial assessment is that a leak through the bottom gate on the railcar may have developed in transit,” the company said through a spokesperson.

    A Federal Railroad Administration representative, though, says the investigation points to one of the hopper car gates not being properly closed.

    Dyno Nobel says the trip lasted two weeks and included multiple stops. The company says it had “limited control” over the railcar as Union Pacific moved it through the country. It says the railcar is being transported back to Wyoming for inspection. And it says it hopes to understand how the shipment was lost and will work to prevent something similar happening again.

    The Federal Railroad Administration, the California Public Utilities Commission, Union Pacific and Dyno Nobel are investigating the incident, according to their representatives.

    Last week, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant from Honduras, Grevi Geovani Rivera Zavala, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape of a teen, WSFA reported.

    The incident happened on a Saturday evening at a restaurant on Cobbs Ford Road, according to a deposition. The girl informed police that Rivera Zavala dragged her into a women’s bathroom stall, held her down, and raped her.

Colton had become a hero to the boy. One day, Colton walked next door to talk with the boy. He learned that the boy too wanted to become a police officer.
