  1. Richard, the evolution of warfare is certainly ongoing in the Uke battle. Many say this is a drone war. Small drones are almost invisible when scouting, and deadly when armed.

What do you see as innovative in this conflict? Thanks.

    • WWI saw several innovations in weapons, planes, tanks and machine guns. WWII developed them further and introduced field radios that allowed the Generals more control of the battlefield and made the improved artillery more effective. Nam brought us helicopters and much better radios which allowed control freak politicians to interfer during the battles. It also saw indirect weapons fire become the battle winning tactic.

The terror war (it is one war with multiple theaters not several unconnected wars) saw the development of the air borne drone and to a lesser extent the combat robot. These worked well when one side had a massive technological advantage. We are now discovering how they work in a near peer war.
Their use is going to spur development on manpad antiaircraft weapons. They along with modern manpad antitank weapons are going to shift the world’s military away from tanks. Just as counter battery radar is shifting the world’s military away from indirect artillery fire. Radar and spy sats are converting artillery from heavy barrages to shoot and scoot weapons. These developments are slowly returning us to infantry wars.

We are already seeing how improved body armor is shifting the battle rifle away from smallbore rapid fire weapons to medium bore long range armor piercing rifles. I am not reading about any manpad anti air drone weapons being developed but they are. The race between weapons and armor now has a new competitor, the race between drone and anti drone weapons.

More research into anti radio tracking weapons is going to lead to autonomous land, sea and air drones. We are already seeing Frankenstein complex reaction to armed remote control drones. Think about the reaction with autonomous armed drones.

What we are facing is a war that spurs the development of weapons that will cause battles that leave cities rubble. We in the west created the Geneva Convention to try and make war less barbaric. In the training war of Russia v Ukraine we are seeing both sides using the Geneva Convention for toilet paper while accusing their opponent of war crimes.

The big things to remember is that Science Fiction has a better record of predicting future tech then any other source. Also no matter how good the remote weapons are the war isn’t over until some scared kid with a knife on the barrel of a rifle digs them out of their holes.

        • Soon to come for the continuation war:
1)nanotech weapons. Crawl inside and take you apart one molecule at a time.
2)MRNA bio weapons. Targeted against specific populations, or even individuals by design. Well, we’re already there
          3) Autonomous AI Hunter Killer drones. You will also see them in domestic use as rapid reaction surveillance and kill systems.
Say the wrong thing in public, and a marxist killbot zonks you with a 500 gram smart munition.
          4) Directed Energy. Laser, particle beam, Acoustic or microwave. Placed on an autonomous HALE platform. it’s death or incapacitation from above; anytime, anywhere, particularly in domestic policing.
5)Domestic paramilitaries instead of police. Already there in canada, police world wide will be indistinguishable from wagner or blackwater, and their mission will be political and ethnic cleansing.
6)Wide aperture, ultra-high resolution staring surveillance.
Already here. The ARGUS can monitor every movement in a metropolitan area for days at a time, in terrifying detail. Combined with precision kill systems on High Altitude Long Endurance platforms, look out Terminator! Were one better.
          7) Miniaturized, or even nano surveillance drones. Combine with nano weapons. The state will be everywhere. In you, on you, around you.
          8) Real time social credit pre-control. Predictive AI systems will target and destroy you before you even think of breaking narrative.
          You heard it here first.
          The future is unfriendly.

          • You forgot state/provence militias, city/town/village militias, neighborhood militias. Household troops for the rich (they already exist in Russia) corporate wars. Expanded life spans. Colonies on the moon, Mars and other celestial objects. Orbital kinetic kill weapons.

            • Life spans are reducing dramatically.
Orbital colonies et al, only for the wealthy.
Private paramilitaries – al ready here. Look at Deputy Reich Gauleiter Freeland’s detail, or Komrade Castro’s detail, or the WEF police in Davos.
You poors are going to squat in the filth and eat bugs. Haven’t you heard?
Neighborhood militias are a great idea. Especially if their MOS is hunting mounties and marxists.

    • The bio weapons that are either existing or are being developed. Are a bigger worry, they are the WMD of WWIII.

Other things to look out for are targeted assassinations of popular social and media people. We are seeing the start of this in the mass swarming of conservative reporters along with TV crews for FOX.

We are seeing a growing number of terror attacks that seem to fit in the ANTIFA MO. Look at the article about the movie I posted about blowing up oil pipelines. We are fighting a shadow war with the home grown, leftist as well as Chinese, Russian and Islamic groups.

You can add the Mexican Drug Cartels to the list of nations and groups attacking Western Civ in general and the US in particular.

The majority of the fighting in this war will be terror attacks, small unit actions, and bío weapons attack. Then add economic war to the mix and you will see the true horror of what is coming.

The war is already showing hints of the new tech that will save lives as well as take them. There are already reports about nanites removing the damage that aging causes. I doubt that there will be immortality but living for several more decades with a young body is intriguing.

We are living through a massive world changing time. It will be long, bloody and barbaric but in the long run the good guys will win.

  2. Ukraine War Plans Leak Prompts Pentagon Investigation
    April 6, 2023

WASHINGTON — Classified war documents detailing secret American and NATO plans for building up the Ukrainian military ahead of a planned offensive against Russia were posted this week on social media channels, senior Biden administration officials said.

The Pentagon is investigating who may have been behind the leak of the documents, which appeared on Twitter and on Telegram, a platform with more than half a billion users that is widely available in Russia.

Military analysts said the documents appear to have been modified in certain parts from their original format, overstating American estimates of Ukrainian war dead and understating estimates of Russian troops killed.

The modifications could point to an effort of disinformation by Moscow, the analysts said. But the disclosures in the original documents, which appear as photographs of charts of anticipated weapons deliveries, troop and battalion strengths, and plans, represents a significant breach of American intelligence in the effort to aid Ukraine.

Biden officials were working to get them deleted but had not, as of Thursday evening, succeeded.

“We are aware of the reports of social media posts and the department is reviewing the matter,” said Sabrina Singh, the deputy press secretary at the Pentagon.

  3. Texas Lawmakers Introduce Bills to Create Digital Currency Backed by Gold
    By Jim Hoft Apr. 7, 2023 8:30 am2 Comments

The Texas House and Senate recently introduced bills that would establish a state-issued, gold-backed digital currency, Schiff Gold reported.

The outlet added, “Enactment of this legislation would create an option for people to transact business in sound money, set the stage to undermine the Federal Reserve’s monopoly on money and create a viable alternative to a central bank digital currency (CBDC).”

On March 10, Republican Senator Bryan Hughes proposed Senate Bill 2334 (SB2334). On the same day, a similar bill, House Bill 4903 (HB4903), was submitted by Republican Representative Mark Dorazio.

According to the proposed law, the state comptroller must issue a digital currency that is fully backed by gold and fully redeemable in cash or gold. The comptroller would also be responsible for developing a system for regularly transacting with this digital currency guaranteed by gold.

Johnny what do you think if this idea?

    • It’s the way to go. Digitized gold-back currency solves the argument there’s not enough gold. Digitization divides it down to the smallest denominations needed.

      • I was thinking about the States starting their own currency. My big problem with digital is the record of purchases. As long as the purchases are legal ain’t no one’s biz what I am buying.

      • So a few US States have started a gold currency. That is, a banknote sort of, that actually contains a small amount of gold, within the note itself.

I am told I will be shown one next week by a gentleman that bought a few.

The face value of course is higher than the gold within the note and the states has made the nots legal tender within the state.

That is all I know so far and I might have a detail wrong or two. Going from memory here. Very interesting though.

        • You know more then I do. I wonder how long before a black market in those notes will start in other states?

The left is causing a lot of innovative people to wake up and fight back. This is part of the War of Shadows I talk about. If this catches on it will do a lot of damage to the left. One of their strongest weapons is a monopoly control over the money supply. Computation with their fiat money by a previous metal group of currencies will cause stores to have a list of currencies and the price of an item. The fiat currencies will be the highest price with the gold laced or backed will go down depending on the amount of gold in the bill.

On Tuesday, a Trump supporter appeared to single-handedly destroy a career leftist anarchist and agitator and the media. The incident occurred outside the Manhattan court where President Trump was arraigned on bogus charges by the Soros-backed DA Alvin Bragg.

This “Trump supporter” started shouting at the media with F-bombs during an apparent live broadcast. During her muckraking with the media, she took a moment to compliment someone filming on their nail polish.

The “MAGA woman” then took on a career leftist agitator who gets paid to create riots and has been a part of numerous events that have destroyed American cities, incurring millions in property damage and police injuries.

San Francisco, California–Former NCAA swimming champion and outspoken women’s rights advocate Riley Gaines was ambushed and physically assaulted by a psychopathic trans activist after giving a speech on protecting women’s sports at San Francisco State University (SFSU).

The attack and vicious crowd proved so terrifying for Gaines that she was barricaded in a 3rd floor room for almost three hours according to Fox News.

Here’s a video of Gaines being being held hostage. The activists demanded money for her release.

During her speech on protecting female sports, Gaines stressed the importance of men and women competing separately to safeguard the integrity of female sports and protect women. She also shared her personal experience competing against William “Lia” Thomas, a trans man who conned his way into competing against women after failing as a male swimmer.

  7. IT NEVER ENDS: Biden Regime Set to Unleash Scheme to Wipe Out Gasoline-Powered Cars
    By Cullen Linebarger Apr. 7, 2023 10:15 am0 Comments

The Biden regime is determined to force Americans to swallow their radical “climate change” agenda by any means necessary.

FOX News revealed that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will announce the most restrictive standards in American history on gas-powered cars. The regulations will specifically target tailpipe emissions.

Under this plan, all Americans will likely be forced to buy electric vehicles, which is exactly what Biden wants.

Cristina Laila previously reported the Regime wanted all cars in America to be electric by 2035.

  10. zero hedge – Oops! Deleted Tweet By Israel’s Former PM Disclosed Nuke Arsenal

[…]former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak acknowledged the existence of the country’s nuclear weapon arsenal via Twitter — then deleted the tweet, presumably after realizing he’d violated the long-standing US-Israeli practice of pretending that arsenal doesn’t exist.

Barak’s Tuesday tweet addressed growing worries about the growing presence of ultra-nationalist and ultra-religious factions in Israel’s government. Finance minister Bezalel Smotrich and his Religious Zionism party, for example, openly aspire to turn Israel into a theocracy.

    Barak wrote:

“In conversations between Israelis and Western diplomatic officials, there are deep concerns raised of the possibility that if the coup in Israel succeeds, a messianic dictatorship — that possesses nuclear weapons and fanatically wishes for a confrontation with Islam centered on the Temple Mount — will be established in the heart of the Middle East.”

[…]That combination of facts means every dollar of US aid to Israel breaks American law. As Brian McGlinchey explains at Stark Realities:

“U.S. aid to Israel [is] illegal under the Symington Amendment of 1976, which bars economic and military assistance to countries that acquire nuclear reprocessing technology without submitting to international safeguards and inspections.”

  11. the gateway pundit – NATO Intel Leak or Disinformation?

Images of what appears to be the Daily written brief for the “Russia/Ukraine Joint Staff J3/J4/J5” popped up on the Donbass Devushka yesterday and has not created much of a stir. Donbass Devushka has four of the documents on line. They appear authentic. One is classified as “SECRET/REL TO FIN, UKR, FVEY, NATO” and is date 28 FEB 23. (You can see the documents for your self at this link: )

The phrase, “REL TO FIN, UKR, FVEY, NATO” means that this document is available to Finland, Ukraine, the Five Eyes Nations (i.e., Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States) and the members of NATO.

The Biden Administration is not happy. Mediate, repeating a NY Times article, reports:

According to Biden administration officials, classified war documents have been leaked on social media that present U.S. and NATO’s secret plan to assist Ukraine’s military before it an offensive against Russian troops, per a report in The New York Times.

The plan contains photographed charts that outline troop and battalion strengths and anticipated weapon deliveries. It also shows the expenditures of HIMARS, a long-range artillery rocket system, and how quickly the Ukrainian military is using its munitions that previously were not shared by the Pentagon.

Other documents have columns that list Ukrainian troops’schedules from January to April. It also includes a summarized assembly of 12 combat brigades, nine of which are trained by U.S. and NATO allies. The documents note that the speed of delivering the equipment would affect brigades’ readiness and training as three are expected to be engaged by April 30.

The document I saw at Donbas is replete with DOD acronyms. One of the most interesting is BLUF, which means Bottom Line Up Front. What is that bottom line from 28 February 2023?

Based on known contributions, training pathways, and projections (12) combat credible BDEs can be generated for the Spring Counteroffensive, (3) internally by Ukraine [not depicted], and (9) are trained and equipped by US, Allied & Partner (US/A&P). Of the (9) BDEs, (6) will be ready by 31MAR, and the final (3) BDEs by 30APR. Equipment delivery times will impact training and readiness in order to meet this timeline. Total equipment required for (9) BDES is 253 x Tanks, 381 x Mech, 480 x Motor, and 147 x Artillery plus delivery of 571 x U.S. Up-Armored HMMWVs.

If this is true, then we know that on February 28 the U.S./NATO military planners saw 30 April as the earliest date when the Ukrainian force, with U.S. and NATO supplied equipment, would be ready to launch the Spring Counter Offensive with 12 Brigades (aka BDE). U.S. Brigades have a troop strength between 2,000 and 5,000 men. That means the planned Ukrainian offensive troop strength could be between 24,000 and 60,000 men.

What is not discussed in the briefing are the logistics requirements required to support such an offensive. As Ukrainian forces move forward they are likely to be heavily engaged by Russian forces on the land and in the air. They will need to be resupplied in the midst of combat with ammunition and fuel. They will also need a system in place to get the wounded off the battlefield(s?) and back to field hospitals. These are tasks that have been very difficult for Ukraine to accomplish in combat operations as of today.

Also important to recognize that a lot of water has gone under the bridge since this briefing. Ukrainian forces trying to hang on to Bakhmut and other areas along the Donbass front have been savaged with casualties and the Russians have launched missile and air strikes on Ukrainian supply warehouses and troop assembly areas. Russia is moving forward steadily and Ukraine is trying to withdraw its remaining forces from the Bakhmut meat grinder. This is just another way of saying that the 28 February timeline may have been disrupted.

I think it is highly likely that Russia’s intelligence service has assets within the NATO ranks that are providing more recent information of this kind to the Russian military commanders and that they have a pretty good idea of the force they will face and where it will attack. If they do not then Western claims that the Russian military is inept will be verified.

This document, if true, removes any doubt that the United States and its NATO partners are involved heavily in helping Ukraine plan its upcoming offensive. What puzzles me is why the U.S., NATO and Ukraine are talking so openly about the upcoming Counter Offensive. Normally, professional military planners keep their plans SECRET and use deception to mask their true intentions. Well, these documents are classified SECRET, which is what you would expect. What does not make sense is that so many Western leaders are flapping their gums about the “SECRET” counter offensive.

One of the documents (not on the Donbass Devushka site), according to the NY TImes, gave casualty figures as of 1 March 2023 of 17,000 Russian KIA and 70,000 Ukrainian KIA. But military analysts talking to the Times claim, “that some original documents which document Ukrainian and Russian casualties have been modified behind a Moscow disinformation effort.”

So, if this is nothing but Russian disinformation why is the Biden Administration pressing the social media giants to censor it? I think the answer is self-evident — the documents are legit and NATO is leaking like a sieve and the Biden folks are in a panic.

Let me conclude with a question that should inspire discussion — if a source freely leaked this to Evan Gershkovich or Julian Assange or Sy Hersh, would they be guilty of “espionage? You know my answer. What do you think? Do citizens have a right to know?

All of the above from/for China?

Welcome to the war of shadows.

    • NYT – New Batch of Classified Documents Appear on Social Media Sites

Secret documents that appear to detail American national security secrets on Ukraine, the Middle East and China have surfaced online.

WASHINGTON — A new batch of classified documents that appear to detail American national security secrets from Ukraine to the Middle East to China surfaced on social media sites on Friday, alarming the Pentagon and adding turmoil to a situation that seemed to have caught the Biden administration off guard.

The scale of the leak — analysts say more than 100 documents may have been obtained — along with the sensitivity of the documents themselves, could be hugely damaging, officials said. A senior intelligence official called the leak “a nightmare for the Five Eyes,” in a reference to the United States, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, the so-called Five Eyes nations that broadly share intelligence.

The latest documents were found on Twitter and other sites on Friday, a day after senior Biden administration officials said they were investigating a potential leak of classified Ukrainian war plans, include an assessment of Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. One slide, dated Feb. 23, is labeled “Secret/NoForn,” meaning it was not meant to be shared with foreign countries.

Mick Mulroy, a former senior Pentagon official, said the leak of the classified documents represented “a significant breach in security” that could hinder Ukrainian military planning. “As many of these were pictures of documents, it appears that it was a deliberate leak done by someone that wished to damage the Ukraine, U.S., and NATO efforts,” he said.

One analyst described what has emerged so far as the “tip of the iceberg.”

Early Friday, senior national security officials dealing with the initial leak, which was first reported by The New York Times, said a new worry had arisen: Was that information the only intelligence that was leaked?

By Friday afternoon, they had their answer. Even as officials at the Pentagon and national security agencies were investigating the source of documents that had appeared on Twitter and on Telegram, another surfaced on 4chan, an anonymous, fringe message board. The 4chan document is a map that purports to show the status of the war in the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, the scene of a fierce, monthslong battle.

But the leaked documents appear to go well beyond highly classified material on Ukraine war plans. Security analysts who have reviewed the documents tumbling onto social media sites say the increasing trove also includes sensitive briefing slides on China, the Indo-Pacific military theater, the Middle East and terrorism.

The Pentagon said in a statement on Thursday that the Defense Department was looking into the matter. But privately, officials from several separate national security agencies acknowledged both a rush to find the source of the leaks and a potential for what one official called a steady drip of classified information posted on sites.

The documents on Ukraine’s military appear as photographs of charts of anticipated weapons deliveries, troop and battalion strengths, and other plans. Pentagon officials acknowledge that they are legitimate Defense Department documents, but the copies appear to have been altered in certain parts from their original format. The modified versions, for example, overstate American estimates of Ukrainian war dead and underestimate estimates of Russian troops killed.

On Friday, Ukrainian officials and pro-war Russian bloggers suggested the leak was part of a disinformation effort by the other side, timed to influence Ukraine’s possible spring offensive to reclaim territory in the east and the south of the country.

A senior Ukrainian official said that the leak appeared to be a Russian ploy to discredit a counteroffensive. And the Russian bloggers warned against trusting any information in the documents, which one blogger said could be the work of “Western intelligence in order to mislead our command.”

Behind closed doors, chagrined national security officials were trying to find the culprit. One official said it was likely that the documents did not come from Ukrainian officials, because they did not have access to the specific plans, which bear the imprint of the offices of the Pentagon’s Joint Staff. A second official said that determining how the documents were leaked would start with identifying which officials had access to them.

The first tranche of documents appeared to have been posted in early March on Discord, a social media chat platform popular with video gamers, according to Aric Toler, an analyst at Bellingcat, the Dutch investigative site.

In Ukraine, Lt. Col. Yurii Bereza, a battalion commander with Ukraine’s National Guard whose forces have fought in the country’s east in recent months, shrugged off news of the leak.

He noted that information warfare has been so intense that “we can no longer determine where is the truth and where is the lie.”

    • rolling stone – Trump Asks Advisers for ‘Battle Plans’ to ‘Attack Mexico’ if Reelected

Trump and his MAGAfied Republican Party are pushing plans for military action against drug cartels in Mexico — with or without the Mexican government’s consent

DONALD TRUMP IS asking for a plan to wage war in Mexico, and the Republican Party is eager to give it to him.

As he campaigns for a second White House term, Trump has been asking policy advisers for a range of military options aimed at taking on Mexican drug cartels, including strikes that are not sanctioned by Mexico’s government, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

“‘Attacking Mexico,’ or whatever you’d like to call it, is something that President Trump has said he wants ‘battle plans’ drawn for,” says one of the sources. “He’s complained about missed opportunities of his first term, and there are a lot of people around him who want fewer missed opportunities in a second Trump presidency.”

Trump lieutenants have briefed him on several options that include unilateral military strikes and troop deployments on a sovereign U.S. partner and neighbor, the sources say. One such proposal that Trump has been briefed on this year is an October white paper from the Center for Renewing America, an increasingly influential think tank staffed largely by Trumpist wonks, MAGA loyalists, and veterans of his administration.

The policy paper — titled “It’s Time to Wage War on Transnational Drug Cartels” — outlines possible justifications and procedures for the next Republican commander-in-chief to “formally” declare “war against the cartels,” in response to “the mounting bodies of dead Americans from fentanyl poisonings.”

In a nod to Mexico’s status as a sovereign nation, the paper calls on the U.S. to “conduct specific military operations to destroy the cartels and enlist the Mexican government in joint operations to target cartel-networked infrastructure, including affiliated factions and enablers with direct action.”

However, that “enlistment” of the Mexican government comes with a massive caveat: “It is vital that Mexico not be led to believe that they have veto power to prevent the US from taking the actions necessary to secure its borders and people,” the paper reads.

The document cautions about the “risks” of ongoing international wars, but it takes very little off the table in terms of military action. “The goal is to crush cartel networks with full military force in as rapid a fashion as possible. This means expanding the role beyond Special Forces, targeted strikes, and intelligence operations to include elements of the Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard,” it recommends, in a chapter presumptuously labeled, “Tier Four: Victory Phase.”

It’s unclear if Trump would be willing to go as far as the CRA paper advocates, but he has been especially keen on sending Special Forces to Mexico and has been talking up the idea for months.

The fixation with military action on Mexican soil is not limited to Trump, however. The CRA paper is credited to Ken Cuccinelli, a former Trump official who now backs Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to be the next president of the United States.

And a range of GOP lawmakers and figures are proposing legislation aimed at unleashing the U.S. military on Mexico, suggesting that if a Republican wins in 2024, the new president will have ample support — and even possibly face party pressure — for waging war on North American soil.

Republican congressmen Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) and Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) announced legislation to authorize the use of military force against fentanyl trafficking cartels in Mexico. The move garnered support from Trump’s former attorney general Bill Barr, who penned an approving op-ed in the Wall Street Journal. Pro-Trump House members like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-Texas) have echoed these ideas, as well.

In the Senate, Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and John Kennedy (R-La.) announced their own legislation, which would “give the military the authority to go after these organizations wherever they exist,” prompting Mexico’s president Lopez Obrador to brand the legislation as “irresponsible” and “an offense to the people of Mexico.” In a brief phone interview on Wednesday, Graham tells Rolling Stone that though he “would like to work with Mexico” and that having the U.S. State Department designate the cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations would be his preferred method, he is “put[ting] AUMF on the table as a potential,” violent fallback. Graham adds he doesn’t recall discussing this issue with Trump specifically, though “I understood he wanted to take on the fentanyl labs.”

Former Trump homeland security officials Chad Wolf and Rob Law also supported designating cartels as terrorists and using the military against them in a March piece for the America First Policy Institute. “The pundit class scoffed when President Donald Trump considered these options. Still, his willingness to explore options untapped since the U.S. government took down Pablo Escobar in Colombia was a sign of a strong leader,” they wrote.

The institute’s brief policy pitch is also among the documents recently pushed to Trump, though it is unclear if he’s read it, one of the sources familiar with the situation tells Rolling Stone.

The “scoffing” referenced by Wolf and Law refers to the public shock when former defense secretary Mark Esper revealed that Trump had previously asked if it was possible to carry out unilateral covert airstrikes on Mexican drug labs in 2019.

At the time, Trump had become increasingly frustrated by the incessant opiate trade across the Mexican border and publicly suggested that the U.S. designate cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. In private, Esper wrote, Trump said, “‘If we could just knock them [the drug labs] out,’ he said, this would do the trick.” Told it would be illegal, Trump reportedly claimed “no one would know it was us” although Esper “couldn’t imagine the president would resist taking credit for the attack anyway.”

Earlier this month, House Oversight Chairman Rep. James Comer called Trump’s failure to bomb Mexico, as outlined in Esper’s book, “a mistake.”

Trump’s notional plan to attack Mexico — brushed off by Esper — was itself reminiscent of the former president’s efforts to curb drug production in Afghanistan.

Early in his administration, the Defense Department, armed with new authorities from Trump to target criminal groups, embarked on a campaign of airstrikes and special operations attacks against Taliban drug labs in Afghanistan beginning in late 2017. The effort to curb Afghan drug exports failed and opium production soared until Pentagon officials quietly ended the strikes in 2019.

Experts say that it’s unlikely the Republicans’ similar plan to go after drug labs in Mexico would meet with much success.

    • APRIL 07 2023 – Suspicions Multiply as Nord Stream Sabotage Remains Unsolved

Intelligence leaks surrounding the sabotage of the pipelines have provided more questions than answers. It may be in no one’s interest to reveal more.

Russian and Danish naval vessels that disappear in the Baltic Sea, days before an underwater pipeline blast. A German charter yacht with traces of explosives, and a crew with forged passports. Blurry photographs of a mysterious object found near a single surviving pipeline strand.

These are the latest clues in the hunt to reveal who, last Sept. 26, blew up most of the Kremlin-backed Nord Stream pipelines, some 260 feet below the Baltic Sea, that were once the largest supplier of Europe’s natural gas.

Just a few weeks ago, New York Times reporting on new intelligence, along with German police findings reported by the German media, suggested a possible solution to the Nord Stream puzzle: pro-Ukraine operatives renting a German pleasure boat and pulling off a fantastical covert mission.

Since then, a flurry of new findings and competing narratives has sown distrust among Western allies and presented an opening for Russian diplomatic pressure that has raised the geopolitical stakes in Europe’s Baltic region.

Nowhere is the tension felt more strongly than among the 98 residents of Denmark’s Christianso — an island so tiny, you can walk across it in 10 minutes. Living just 12 nautical miles away from the blast site, everyone from the herring pickler to the inn chef sees skies and waters filled with foreboding.

“Before the blast, no one talked about Nord Stream. I didn’t even know how close we were until it happened,” said Soren Thiim Andersen, governor of Christianso. “Afterward, we all felt exposed. We were all wondering: What really just happened here?”

The pleasure boat at the center of the German investigation, the Andromeda, docked at Christianso’s stone harbor after being chartered in the northern German port of Rostock on Sept. 5 and making an overnight stop at Wiek, a more obscure north German port with no security cameras and little oversight.

A local port worker, who asked not to be identified because of ongoing investigations, told The Times that he remembered the visit unusually well: He had repeatedly tried to speak to the crew, first in German, then English. Instead of attempting any kind of reply, in any language, one man simply handed him the docking fee and turned away.

The Andromeda now sits in dry dock overlooking the Baltic Sea, its innards pulled out by investigators. Three German officials told The Times that the investigators had found traces of explosives on the boat, and discovered that two crew members had used fake Bulgarian passports.

That hunt led back to Christianso, where Mr. Andersen, the governor, said that in December, the Danish police had him write a Facebook post, instructing residents to send photographs of the harbor or boats from Sept. 16 to Sept. 18, around the time the Andromeda is believed to have docked. Investigators arrived a month later to interview residents and check the photos.

Christianso locals scoffed at the idea a 50-foot pleasure yacht could pull off such a spectacular attack — and so have naval experts from Germany, Sweden and Denmark.

They argue that even with skilled divers, it would be extremely challenging for a six-person crew to plant the explosives needed on the seabed some 262 feet below, and create blasts registering 2.5 on the Richter scale.

“Knowing how the explosion would work, with the sea pressure at those depths — you need very specialized knowledge. How do the physics play out?” said Johannes Riber, a naval officer and analyst at Denmark’s Institute for Strategy and War Studies, who called it a “James Bond” theory.

Whether the Andromeda was a decoy or part of a broader mission, he said, remained unanswerable. But the most plausible attack, he said, required an undersea drone or mini submarine to plant the explosives, and either naval or professional underwater drilling vessels.

Mr. Riber and others also pointed to photographs of the aftermath — pipes bent backward, cracks and craters on the seabed — as traces of a massive bomb, something in the range of 1,000 to 1,500 kilograms.

“This was not a few pieces of plastic explosives,” Mr. Riber said. “That is a powerful explosion at play.”

Yet one pipeline expert and a professional diver who was part of the team that laid the Nord Stream 2 pipelines last year disagreed. Both the expert and the diver, who works regularly in the Baltic Sea, insisted a small plastic explosive could do the job, as long as it was placed near a seam of the pipeline. They asked not to be identified because they were speaking without authorization from Nord Stream.

“It is like lighting a match next to a leaking gasoline pump — the gas is all you need,” said one diver.

By the end of March, Russian diplomats threw up yet another twist: They revealed that in February, Nord Stream 2 had hired a vessel to inspect its pipelines and discovered an unidentified object next to a seam of its sole undamaged strand, about 19 miles from the explosion sites. The company alerted both Russia and Denmark, which controls the waters in which the object was spotted.

Even under pressure from Vladimir V. Putin’s top foreign policy adviser, who summoned Denmark’s chargé d’affaires in Moscow, Denmark initially resisted offering much information to the company or Russia, aside from publicly releasing a blurry photo of a 12-inch-long cylinder, covered in algae.

Last week, Danish authorities allowed Nord Stream 2 to observe their dive to recover the object — releasing photographs of a now cleaned-off dark cylinder. Denmark’s ministry of defense said it might be part of a maritime smoke buoy.

But Russia’s ambassador to Denmark, Vladimir Barbin, told The Times that experts in Moscow believed the cylinder was part of an explosive device.

“The continued secrecy of the ongoing investigation by Denmark, Germany and Sweden, as well as the refusal to cooperate with Russia, undermine its credibility,” Mr. Barbin wrote in a statement to The Times.

And Mr. Putin himself continues to use the incident to pressure Denmark to back Moscow’s demands for a joint international investigation. On April 5, he warned the situation in the Baltic Sea was becoming “turbulent in a literal sense.”

Even as Moscow pushes for a joint probe, other findings are pointing fingers back at Russia.

The German news website T-Online worked in late March with an open-source investigator, Oliver Alexander, to present the paths of six Russian vessels whose names were given to them by what they described as an “intelligence source from a NATO country.”

Their findings showed the boats disappeared from satellite signals on Sept. 21 — around the time Christianso residents spotted vessels that disappeared from their apps — after veering off course from a publicly announced Russian maritime exercise.

That information could match an early lead that one German official told The Times was explored late last year by Germany’s intelligence services who had also tracked Russian vessels from naval exercises, but were unable to bridge an approximately 20-nautical-mile gap between where some veered off course and the sites of the blasts.

The open source investigation also discovered a Danish naval ship, the Nymfen, which had sailed toward the same area as the Russian vessels in the hours after they disappeared. It too had turned off its signal upon reaching the site.

A day later, a Swedish fighter jet took an unusual flight path over the area, followed by a Swedish naval vessel that lingered near the spot where the Nord Stream 1 pipelines later exploded.

The researchers argued that perhaps these forces went to check the site — hinting that some countries may know more than they have said thus far.

Denmark is the most tight-lipped, but security sources who spoke on condition of anonymity told The Times that Danish and Swedish investigators have been wary of the latest German findings, and feel a sense of pressure to counter that narrative.

On Thursday, Mats Ljungqvist, Sweden’s senior prosecutor in the case, told the Swedish newspaper Norrkopings Tidningar that although his probe had not ruled out nonstate actors, only a “very few companies or groups” could have done it, and that a state actor still seemed most likely.

And he hinted his team came across some red herrings in the course of their investigation: “Those who carried this out were careful with the traces they left behind,” he said.

Privately, Swedish, German, and Danish officials argued that investigators have reasons not to share findings, which can reveal their intelligence capabilities. Allies have also grown wary after a string of Russian espionage and infiltration cases in Europe — including one within Germany’s spy agency.

Nor may it be in anyone’s interest to share: Naming a culprit could set off unintended consequences.

Claiming Russia was behind the attack would mean it had successfully sabotaged major critical infrastructure in Western Europe’s backyard, and could spark demands for a response.

Blaming Ukrainian operatives could stoke internal debate in Europe about support for their eastern neighbor.

And naming a Western nation or operatives could trigger deep mistrust when the West is struggling to maintain a united front.

“Is there any interest from the authorities to come out and say who did this? There are strategic reasons for not revealing who did it,” said Jens Wenzel Kristoffersen, a Danish naval commander and military expert at the University of Copenhagen. “As long as they don’t come out with anything substantial, then we are left in the dark on all this — as it should be.”

  15. Hollywood Now Is Romanticizing Far-Left Terrorism: Calls for Justified Attacks in New Film
By Mike Landry, The Western Journal Apr. 7, 2023 3:40 pm0 Comments

How to Blow Up a Pipeline” hit theaters this week, and there’s no nuance in its title.

It’s approximately 100 R-rated minutes on destroying a Texas pipeline in the name of environmental activism, social justice, stickin’ it to the Man, and other cool stuff.

While heist stories always have been popular, there’s long been the moral snag of getting audiences to root for the bad guys or at least the people seen breaking the law.

Indeed, Hollywood once had the self-imposed Hays Code that, among other things, required criminals, no matter how intriguing their story, to always meet a bad ending, generally either through the legal system or in death, including by their own hand.

Sometimes, storytellers have gotten around ethical qualms by having criminals do things ultimately for some kind of perceived good, as in Robin Hood robbing the rich to give to the poor.

That’s the way “How to Blow Up a Pipeline” gets around the whole terrorism thing. It hoists its would-be moral flag on protection of the environment.

    Check out the trailer.

Since most movies are aimed at younger people, “Pipeline” has a sleek, youthful cast single-minded in its quest for justice.

Of course, no one’s going to be influenced by the movie’s message, especially young people. After all, it’s merely a session of entertainment escapism enhanced by over-priced popcorn.

    It’s harmless.

It’s just that I have a recollection of long-ago college days when a friend told me about watching a crime-glorifying movie, then leaving the small-town theater to engage in some random acts of vandalism.

But it’s a different era; we’re more sophisticated now. Lessons in developing explosives and in pipeline destruction would prompt no interest from young people. Nor authorities.

After all, the FBI is busy with monitoring parents upset with school boards and with words on the internet such as “red pill,” or posted names like “Chad” or “Stacey” representing people popular with the opposite sex, unlike “incels,” the self-described involuntary celibates the FBI also is concerned about.

    Pipelines, schmipelines – who cares?

Pipeline” so far has an overwhelmingly positive 97 percent Tomatometer rating at the Rotten Tomatoes movie review site. As of this writing, audience reviews numbered only about 50 but were at a very positive 78 percent (60 percent is considered good).

Perhaps the state of our culture can be gleaned from what top critics are saying about the film.

’How to Blow Up a Pipeline’ might not offer a blueprint for explosive solutions, but it could spark some ideas,” wrote Lovia Gyarkye of the Hollywood Reporter.

“Each member of this ratpack clan represents a distinct background ensures that what unites them is not allegiance to a singular political or spiritual ideology, but rather the notion of a shared enemy: those willing to see the planet burn for a profit,” said Carlos Aguilar of the Los Angeles Times.

“You won’t be able to resist the siren song of this film as it breaks and molds you into an activist with a firm and riveting grip,” wrote Lex Briscuso of Inverse.

Then there are some comments beneath the YouTube presentation of the movie’s trailer:

“I hope the film is effective in helping us move towards the clean energy transition as soon as possible.”

“This type of thrilling and encouraging information dissemination is ESSENTIAL in capturing the hearts and minds of our youth to help us win the war in Ukraine, and for Mother Earth. Peace.”

And so it goes. One more step in the destruction of a civilization.

Maybe a sequel to “How to Blow Up a Pipeline” will focus on the electrical grid. Or on water systems.

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods is certainly in the running for most based lawman in America.

Woods announced Friday that his department had arrested two juvenile suspects in connection to a triple homicide in the county last week, a case that has captured the attention of millions of Americans.

A third suspect remains on the loose and the Florida attorney general’s office is considering whether to charge all three suspects as adults, according to Woods.

As reported by Fox News, the suspects are accused of fatally shooting 16-year-old Layla Silvernail, 16-year-old Camille Quarles, and an unnamed 17-year-old male on or around March 30 in rural Marion County.

Woods revealed during the press conference both the suspects and victims were members of a gang and committed crimes together. He blamed America’s failing society and school system for the disgraceful murders.

The fact is: society fails them. We do not hold our juveniles accountable. We minimize their actions.

I am a father. But here’s the one thing my boys know: growing up, the freaking barber had my permission to whip their a–es.

But the reporters at the press conference evidently were not comprehending this commonsense message of personal and societal responsibility. A liberal reporter tried to play invoke a gun control angle as a possible reason for the crime.

Woods was not having any of the reporter’s nonsense.

Reporter: Sheriff, you mentioned the gun. Do we know how the suspect go ahold of the weapon?

    Woods: Car burglaries.

Mhm, yeah, Mhm. Ain’t that right?

All the gun laws in place, didn’t prevent it, did it. Neither will any new ones.

(Long pause) Because here’s the fact: the bad guy was going to get a gun no matter what law you have put in place.

These juveniles shouldn’t even possess a handgun. But they did.

A “simple burglary” as some people would say. Well, I don’t consider anything simple when it comes to a burglary.

If the law allows me I’ll plaster their face on this page, my page, up on media, and hand it out as the law allows me. Because parents have the right to know who their kids are hanging out with and preventing this.

Two young teens were arrested anc charged in a robbery and carjacking spree in Logan Square in Chicago on Wednesday.

The two boys and several others participated in numerous carjackings, beatings and robberies in the morning on Wednesday.

Two boys, ages 13 and 15, are charged with participating in a series of armed robberies and carjackings in Logan Square on Wednesday morning, Chicago police said. At least seven people reported being robbed by two carloads of attackers who circled the area for about an hour, and police said between six and eight offenders were involved in some of the crimes.

Yesterday morning, members of CPD’s Vehicular Hijacking Task Force arrested two of them in the 4300 block of West West End Avenue, police said.

The teens are accused of being part of the group that carjacked a 38-year-old man as he walked to his Ford Fusion in the 2100 block of North Whipple at 5:59 a.m.

A few minutes later, they were allegedly involved in robbing a 55-year-old man in the 2600 block of West Altgeld. Police said three vehicles blocked an intersection

  21. Colorado district equity docs reveal methodical system to deceive parents on in-school social transitions
A Jeffco counselor said, ‘Our teachers are concerned with parents not knowing’
By Hannah Grossman | Fox News

A Colorado school district has a methodical system in place to keep parents in the dark on their child’s gender transition in schools, according to documents reviewed by Fox News Digital

Leslie Mecca, a counselor at Bear Creek – a K-8 school in the district – sent an email to the Jeffco Public School district’s equity office on August 29, 2022, asking clarification on its recommendations regarding flagging an in-school social transition of a child’s gender. Jeffco defines “transition” as “the steps a transgender person takes in order to align aspects of their life to be consistent with their gender identity.”

In the email, Mecca said that teachers in the school wanted to tell parents about kids’ social transition, including their use of a different name and pronouns.

Mecca said, “In one grade we have about 10 students who identify as a different name and pronoun. They ask teachers to call them by their preferred name and pronouns and our teachers do so. However, our teachers are concerned with parents not knowing.”

Mississippi woman arrested for having sex with dog says she was ‘threatened to do it’
    By Natalie O’Neill

    April 7, 2023 | 12:33pm

A Mississippi woman arrested this week for having sex with a dog on camera claims she was forced into the act apparently by people who pay her to make pornographic videos, according to court documents.

In the revolting case, Denise Nicole Frazier, 19, told police she had intercourse with a German shepherd in footage that appeared on Snapchat because she was “threatened to do it,” according to an arrest affidavit cited by the Laurel Leader Call.

Frazier admitted she was the one in the video but stated she was forced to do it,” the affidavit says.

Frazier made the claim as Jones County sheriff’s officers arrested her Wednesday, telling cops that “people pay me” to perform in videos but that sex with the male “service dog” was against her will, according to police.

“There is no evidence of that claim, but we are investigating it,” JCSD Investigator Sgt. J.D. Carter told the local outlet.

There were two men at the home in Myrick where Frazier was arrested but it wasn’t immediately known if they were involved.

Carter said police plan to probe whether she was coerced into making the disturbing video.
